My last visit way back then wasn't that great, but I'd been hearing rumblings on local boards that the chef/owner of the more highly acclaimed Silk Road in Marlborough is now manning the kitchen here, with positive reviews. A Tuesday night visit was chaotic servicewise, but the food came through. Got a fixed Dinner Combo of Sweet & Sour chicken, Boneless Ribs, and Pork Fried Rice. I added "an order of egg rolls." They only gave me one, but only charged me for one, which worked out better. Egg Roll: Very crunchy. Minimal flavor. See photo for composition. Sweet and Sour Chicken: Generous serving, very crunchy, slightly better than average meat-to-batter ratio. Very pleasant golden sauce with some tang and complexity. No pineapples, no cherries. Boneless Ribs: Very thin, some were dry, some were moist. Good flavor with not only the glaze contributing but also some additional seasoning, possibly five spice? Pork Fried Rice: Superb. The right color, texture, and flavor. I partied like it's 1979. Visit 2, a week later: Smaller crowd, less chaos, but a little less wow factor. Dinner Combo with Shrimp & Lobster Sauce, Chicken Wings, and Pork Fried Rice; I added on an app of Boneless Spareribs. Shrimp: Pale, slippery, not undercooked but close. Juicy. Lobster Sauce: Very soft, slightly gelatinous, slightly garlicky, very faintly sweet. Not that warm. Chicken Wings: Three of them on the combo, scorchingly hot, pale, faintly five spiced but not much flavor. Pork Fried Rice: Again excellent, good color and texture, loaded with pork nuggets and onions, slightly smoky, good flavor overall. Boneless Ribs: Thin slivers, nicely coated with red glaze, mostly moist, slightly fatty, occasional gristle. Overall: Not in the elite class but with the right order can be a contender for that next level. First time here. The food was good and reasonably priced. Had Beef Chow Fun and General Gaos Chicken. The service was good. Unfortunately the environment was greatly affected by a group of very loud people having inappropriate conversations for a restaurant and dropping constant F-bombs. Although I have had better Asian food near where I live (out of state), I wouldn't hesitate to come here again if I was in the area. I came here with my dad this weekend and was disgusted with their service, food and their pricing was outrageous. We paid $12.50 just for a large Crab Rangoons. The server made us wait like 20 minutes after we were finished eating before bringing the bill. During that time she walked Into the kitchen twice and ignored us. A different server brought us our bill. The food was horrible. I couldn't hear any music playing in the restaurant. The crab Rangoons were too salty and had barely any crab in them. 4/21/18 It's been nearly a decade since I've had East Coast Chinese food. The food out in Cali is so much different and very bland. We went here on a whim and decided to give it a try. We started off with a bunch of drinks and I tried the Pineapple Passion. it was so good i had to get another! Our server was Denni or Dinni? She was awesome. Full of spirit and a fun person as well. She was joking with us and the food came out rather quickly. We ordered a bunch of plates and the chicken wings, Potstickers, spare ribs were awesome! The Teriyaki steak was a little tough but still had great flavor. The rice was very good as well. Tasted like it was just made and full of flavor We went on a Saturday and the entire experience was wonderful. This was our last meal until we headed back to San Diego. We went here tonight because I read the reviews and it sounded like a great place. I am new to this area and have not found a Chinese OK restaurant that I have liked. We got there at 6:30 Friday night and there was nobody in the restaurant. We sat at the bar and there was a few people there . The place looks rundown and old. The food was not fresh at all. The fried rice was awful mushy and not fresh .Goldfingers too hard on the outside. Chicken inside was not good. The wings probably could've been cooked more. Decided to go after another Chinese place with better reviews a few doors up/down the street was only offering plastic utensils for dine-in & wasn't in the mood, so I went inside. It wasn't very busy & it seemed to take longer than I expected to be waited on. Eventually the waitress came over; she was pleasant, but her English was spotty. Another employee ended up taking our order, but it didn't exactly work out. We ordered three main dishes. One of them was as anticipated. Shrimp & Broccolli arriived as Chicken & Broccolli, and Chow Fun wasn't what was expected. The C&B was replaced with S&B and was fine, but what we thought chow fun was supposed to be, the restaurant felt different - we expected wide noodles as the main ingredient, but they served it with very slight noodles with a lot pf bean sprouts & onions, so the noodles just blended-in. They insisted that it was accurate, but it tasted OK. The snow peas with garlic sauce was fine. The portions were decent. The food is great. Chicken fingers are the best out there! But they use DoorDash for delivery, even when you order direct from their website. Every time delivery is place, the DoorDash drivers mess it up. They leave the food at the wrong building, they ignore the instructions, even when they call, they ignore what you tell them. Absolutely love Chins. My favorite place for Mai Tais hands down. I find their food consistently good and their fried rice is phenomenal. The crab rangoon are perfectly creamy and the wings are delicious. Usually the beef teriyaki is excellent but I got a tough piece this time around. Depressing decor, slow grim-expressioned service, with an antiseptic odor in the air that brings to mind a hospital waiting area instead of a 'garden' restaurant. So why 2 stars? Mainly because it's very cheap. $6.39 for Yu Shang pork with fried rice, both piled high on a large plate, plus tea and tax. The wait for food was long, but that was apparently because it was cooked to order. When it finally arrived it was hot and spicy, though also pretty high on the 'greasy' scale. And here's a weird twist: the tea was served in a beer stein. Ok, maybe Chin's should be 1 star, but that's an idea that's so bad that it's almost good again due to its weirdness. This place is a dingy hole in the wall but the prices are low and the servings are massive. I'm not gonna say this place is gourmet, amazing stuff but if you know what to get you'll have some good greasy Chinese good for really cheap. The wonton soup here is very good. They put huge strips of ports in it and the wonton's are big with delicate pasta and a nice interior. I like their egg rolls. They're kinda junky, having far more pork than is standard but it's just that kind of place. The crab rangoon are good and have a slight, almost bacony taste in the background. I'm sure what causes that taste is something awful but I like it. The portion is also insane. I also like the fried baby shrimp. All it is a tray full of deep fried baby shrimp. Awful for you and really greasy but still tasty. The best thing they have is the boneless spare ribs. They're fatty but that just makes them melt in your mouth. My favorite entree is the Xing Zhou Mi Fun, which is a massive plate of rice noodles with various meets and curry flavor. The sesame chicken is also very good but I will say the other typical sauced fried chicken dishes are pretty generic. There's some other decent stuff on the menu but alot of it ranges from standard to poor. I've rarely had anything bad but there's alot that's not much to write home about. Going to this restaurant was the WORST experience that I've ever had. I went with a group of friends after our show. We called ahead and said that we were coming with a large party, but they told us we didn't. I personally watched my friend make the call because we try to be courteous towards the servers because our group was a lot of people. It took us 45 minutes to get just our drinks. Then, we ordered food, and that took another hour, which was okay considering that it was a relatively large party. However, I never got my meal. I ordered a number 26, and when I asked the server about it, I had forgotten what number i had ordered, so i thought it was 24. She said "I don't have a 24 on here". However, when I received my check, it was exactly what I ordered on the check, which was a #26 with fries and a soda, which means she knew what I had ordered and had absolutely no excuse for not getting me my food. She offered me a free soda in compensation, but I asked for a water (which I never got). I explained that I had already had a soda, and that I wanted a water. She took the #26 off of my bill, but it took 20 minutes to get it back. She did not take off the soda either. I wasn't about to wait another 20 minutes to get my bill back to pay. I asked for an itemized receipt and they refused. They only gave me a slip that said how much I paid, but not what I paid for. The food was awful according to my friends who actually got their meal. My friend got a meal with pork fried rice, and it was COMPLETELY black. He said it tasted like it was literally drowned in soy sauce. The server also refused to give my friend a box until the very end of the meal. He had to leave because he had to get up relatively early the next morning, and she said that she was only asking for drinks at that time. He had to go up to the front to get a box in order to leave. They also included tip on the receipt and refused to take it off of the check (16%). Lastly, she lost my friend's card. My friend paid with her credit card, and the lady insisted that she gave it back to her, when she hadn't. My friend, who was on crutches due to an ankle injury, was hobbling around the restaurant trying to find her card. That is something basic that should never have happened. Normally, I'm pretty lenient when it comes to service, especially with a large group, but the service we received was absolutely God awful. They did not meet the absolute basic needs of the table (food and drinks). My orders were forgotten twice, and the server clearly had no idea what she was doing. The food was also overpriced and subpar. They clearly have a lot of MSG as well because I had a migraine shortly after I finished eating (I rarely get headaches). Service four stars, because the waitress was attentive and keeping me alert of arrival of entrees. This place gets one star for parking, because it shares it space with commuter park n ride. Various entrees in buffet varies. One star for egg roll which I found to be too hot and oily. White rice was too burnt and hard. Kung Pao Chicken gets two stars because it was too greasy and tasted like Lipton soup. The best dishes were the General Gao's chicken. This would be a five star because it was huge like an Italian Meatball and very meaty and not too sweet. String beans were also a five star. It was very crispy and I could taste the tantilizing sauce as well.
