This is literally the closest Chinese place to my house. I could walk to it without considerable effort. Despite that, I never bothered to try it. I think they didn't deliver when I first moved (they do now), which was part of it, because Chinese food only gets ordered when I'm feeling particularly lazy... and then I had other menus and I forgot and then I'd drive by and say "oh, I should try them" and then I'd get sidetracked. And, recently, they put a menu in my mailbox which made it's way to my menu box. Well, fellow Yelpers, I have failed. COMPLETELY. The is, BY far, the best Chinese food I've had in the area. I simply won't order from anywhere else again (well, unless it's really late night and they're closed by the "other guy" is open.) I ordered: Vegetable Lo Mein - tasty, smokey, full of crunchy veggies. Pork Lo Mein - I didn't eat any of this, but I imagine it was on par with the veggie (-veggies add pork). Orange Flavor Chicken - expertly fried. loaded with fresh ginger and orange peel (for flavor) and broccoli (to give the illusion of healthiness where none exists) Three Delight in Garlic Sauce (chicken, shrimp, beef, veggies) - wonderful sauce. Giant vegetables. jumbo shrimp. tender meats. very good. BBQ Ribs - delicious Crab Rangoon - (Free with coupon) This was a GIANT order, especially considering it was free. I expected like 4 or 5 rangoons and there was a whole giant box full. That said, these weren't the best rangoons I've had... they needed more onion/"crab"crab". It was too cream cheesy. Also, they substituted my white rice for brown rice. THEY HAVE BROWN RICE. That, like, never happens at a Chinese place. Mind you, I have no illusions that brown rice made my Americanized grease filled mostly fried or pan fried delicious crap remotely good for me, I just prefer brown rice over white, flavor-wise. Anyway, I spent about $40 and had enough food to feed at LEAST 5 ppl well, maybe even 10. Also, this is a take-out only place. There are no tables. There is no bar. Ignore every other Chinese food review I've written for Marlborough and order from Panda House. NOW. You won't be sorry.

Pretty good food overall. Sometimes the MSG upsets my wife but not always. The pork buns are my absolute favorite. Very good prices.

I love the food here. I only wish they would skip putting baby corn from a can. The vinagar in it spoils the flavor of the lomein.

My view of the current establishment may be tainted by my mourning for the wonderful restaurant this used to be. Now, it is a perfectly decent takeout restaurant, but does little to standout from so many run of the mill Americanized Chinese restaurants. The quaint and homey dining room has gone downhill, and it is no longer somewhere I would "dine-in" as the room is mostly used for preparing takeout orders. The lunch special I tried recently had only 4 shrimp, but a really nice mix of fresh vegetables in the sauce, including yellow squash, zucchini, carrot, onion, bell pepper, snow peas, and broccoli. Personally, I loved having these veggies, particularly given the soy sauce laden fried rice lacked any vegetables.

Would have left but no hope of getting seated with 9 people anywhere else on NYE. Waited 1/2 hour before waitress took drink orders.... Another long wait for food orders. One of our party couldn't take any more and left abruptly. Food quality - fair. Huge rice portions, small meat portions. Chef practically threw portions on our plates...food falling in drink cups and all over counter & chef picking a pieces that fell on counter and tossed onto plate...ew. We were seated in an additional room with 2 hibachi grills that was also used as a storage room. Unsightly Boxes of supplies were haphazardly stacked along far wall. Cobwebs stretched from ceiling to grill vent canopy. Ended up being late to following reservations at live music venue and lost our table. Been going to Ginger Gardens past 16 years -when it was Fuji Gardens on NYE. This is second year NYE service was terrible. Gave them benefit of doubt last year; Will not go back. They are trying to please too many and don't have adequate staffing. Really put a damper on our festivitie; hope that's not a precursor to the new year.

A Tuesday night visit was chaotic servicewise, but the food came through. Got a fixed Dinner Combo of Sweet & Sour chicken, Boneless Ribs, and Pork Fried Rice. I added "an order of egg rolls." They only gave me one, but only charged me for one, which worked out better. Egg Roll: Very crunchy. Minimal flavor. See photo for composition. Sweet and Sour Chicken: Generous serving, very crunchy, slightly better than average meat-to-batter ratio. Very pleasant golden sauce with some tang and complexity. No pineapples, no cherries. Boneless Ribs: Very thin, some were dry, some were moist. Good flavor with not only the glaze contributing but also some additional seasoning, possibly five spice? Pork Fried Rice: Superb. The right color, texture, and flavor. I partied like it's 1979. Visit 2, a week later: Smaller crowd, less chaos, but a little less wow factor. Dinner Combo with Shrimp & Lobster Sauce, Chicken Wings, and Pork Fried Rice; I added on an app of Boneless Spareribs. Shrimp: Pale, slippery, not undercooked but close. Juicy. Lobster Sauce: Very soft, slightly gelatinous, slightly garlicky, very faintly sweet. Not that warm. Chicken Wings: Three of them on the combo, scorchingly hot, pale, faintly five spiced but not much flavor. Pork Fried Rice: Again excellent, good color and texture, loaded with pork nuggets and onions, slightly smoky, good flavor overall. Boneless Ribs: Thin slivers, nicely coated with red glaze, mostly moist, slightly fatty, occasional gristle. Overall: Not in the elite class but with the right order can be a contender for that next level. Though uneven, there's enough promise to keep going back, and if the rice is this good every time, it's worth going back even if only for that.

The Shrimp with Lobster Sauce was absolutely delicious, and I'm extremely picky on this dish. It had four jumbo Shrimp in a delicious sauce. The Pork Fried Rice was light in color, strong in flavor. It was delicious! The Egg Roll had a nice combination of celery, pork, cabbage and the right seasonings. It passed my no duck sauce needed taste. The flavors were great. I tried the duck sauce, although it looked like, it had that great New England apple flavor. The only item I wasn't a huge fan of was their Hot and Sour soup. On the bright side, the portion of the lunch special was very generous, especially when paired with soup for an extra dollar. The vegetables were fresh, shrimp was a decent texture, and online ordering was easy. However, the flavor wasn't very memorable...no sense of fresh garlic, ginger, scallion, herbs...just mild soy sauce, salty, corn starchy American food court grub. And the pork fried rice is certainly not made to order. Unfortunately, I placed my order using Beyond Menu, but upon arrival at the restaurant to pick up my food, it was clear they never checked the incoming order. No big deal, they promptly started cooking my food and I had my takeaway in about 10 minutes. It's good I wasn't planning to eat there, as the "dining" area was super cold / unheated. I'm sure the kitchen was hot with the cooking in progress, but the waiting area felt like I was standing outside at a food truck. You can do a lot worse than Yummy Kitchen to fill yourself up for very little money, but I'll keep searching for that elusive Chinatown authenticity out here in the burbs.

All weeknight dinner visits…read more -- Har Gow: Shrimp dumplings fresh and flavorful, but the vessels were so gummy they stuck to each other and the serving tin. Average. -- Beef Teriyaki: A four-stick serving had bumpy, lightly-charred and lightly sweet surfaces, along with good tenderness underneath. Decent marinade flavor. Above average to well above average. -- Mongolian Beef: An outstanding presentation of beef slivers thick enough to be tender, while also getting nicely crisp and a vigorous flavor superior to the teriyaki. Scallions added some extra kick in addition to the sauce. Really good feel and really good taste bring it really close to elite. -- Pork Fried Rice: Lovers of dark pork fried rice are in for a treat, because this is among the darkest and has dark flavor to match. Fresh, hot, not a reheat, and not sitting for hours. I could do without the peas, but all of the other additions-- egg, onion, bean sprouts, and big chunks of fresh pork-- were top notch. A benchmark rice if you're into this style. Elite. -- Chicken with Ginger and Scallion: Long and winding chicken with good tenderness and noticeable ginger flavor, with bold scallions the unsung hero. Closer to a very good dish than a great dish, but bonus points for being neither sweet nor spicy, but still bringing plenty of flavor. -- Chicken Fried Rice: Another example of bold, dark, fresh-cooked rice, this time with chicken. I was expecting shreds and got finger-length pieces that were much more impressive. Elite. -- Boneless Ribs: Lightly lacquered with shiny cross sections, so they were moist, but a bit fatty. Above average for sure, but not elite or close like some other dishes. -- Chicken Fingers: Fresh, hot, and crisp, with some small ones less dazzling, but most pleased. Good meat-to-batter ratio. Optional sweet and sour sauce add-on did dazzle, coming in sweet but dark ruby color and complex. Not your daddy's sauce; this didn't have pineapples and cherries but it did have more flavor. -- Chicken Teriyaki: Charring, coating, tenderness, juiciness, and marinade all combined to make this one of the better renditions. Well above average to near elite. -- Yuen Yang Beef: Very impressive dish, from the quantity, to the textures (perfect on both the beef and the bed of string beans), to the flavors (savory-tingly on the beef, though without much heat, and gingery on the string beans). -- Duck Sauce: Barely a variation from straight apple sauce. Not a strength. Only negative on service is that sometimes one server handles the entire dining room, so there might be waits, but even still, service is always friendly and efficient. This place sometimes gets a bad rap for being expensive, but I believe the quality warrants the prices and that there's good value thanks to execution and consistency.
