STILL SO YUMMY AND GOOD!! Drinks are so yummy and the crispy pork is CRISPY (love the sauce). Note: the spaghetti is SPICY and I could barely eat it.. I am not good with spice.. But still so flavorful and yummy!!

First and foremost what a find !! Chinta is a gem ! Been to greenpoint a lot this summer but never stumbled across this place. We sat outside but the ambiance inside was very pleasant. The service outstanding & the menu.. well I won't spoil it ;) We got an order of plain wings and the Zapp. The plain came with this flavorful chilli honey that was so good we had to order extra. The zapp wings were BEST WINGS EVER. So delicious we also ordered extra. For mains we shared crab fried rice that was perfect & the spaghetti sai-oua. The spaghetti was 9/10 because I wasn't a fan of the sausages but I still would recommend! I'll be coming back here very soon !

Amazing Thai spot in Greenpoint! My friend and I walked in shortly before 6:30 PM on a Friday and got lucky with a walk-in. Dapper snapper was great, but the kao soi gai was the showstopper. Highly recommend getting that. 4.5 stars.

I went to Chinta Thai with a friend after work on a Friday night. We ordered the Ka Praw Gai Khai Dow and the supreme Pad Thai. The food was exquisite and so flavorful. The soft shell crab was amazing and fresh. The Ka Praw Gai is a spicy dish and I can definitely vouch that this dish is spicy. I like spicy and typically can handle it well but by the end of finishing this meal I need to chug a ton of water to help me with the spiciness. I am definitely not complaining at all about the dish. The dish was so so good. The service was great and attentive from the staff. They constantly checked up on us to see if we were okay and needed anything else and refilled our water cups often. The ambiance was great and lively. We had a 8pm reservation and arrived a tab bit late and the staff quickly helped us out in getting seated right away. We sat outdoors as it was a nice warm evening. The interior of the restaurant is a bit small but they also have outdoor seating available. This is such a cute Thai restaurant, the food is so great, and with excellent customer service I can't say one negative thing about this establishment as I left so happy dining here. Unfortunately, I completely forgot to take pictures while dining at Chinta Thai as I was enjoying the moment in real time but I'd say a 10/10 Thai restaurant in Greenpoint.

Came here with a group of four and shared many dishes. We got the minced chicken, pot of gold, and the winter special. Would definitely order one dish per person. Personally, the favorite was the pot of gold. Definitely not something I have seen at other Thai restaurants before. I liked how it was a semi sweet rice with lots of veggies and seafood on top. The minced chicken was good, and tastes like basil and pork dishes at other restaurants. The winter special was also delicious, but finish it quickly, or else the noodles will soak up all the sauce and cool, which is not as good. We ended up being seated outdoors with no reservation on a Friday night, and it was pretty quick, but can definitely see this place getting more popular.

Walk-in for 2 on Thursday dinner. I've ordered takeout from here a few times and every time has been excellent. Glad to experience the in-person dining with friendly service. Vibe is casual nice. I loved the color theme of red and tan, to give a modern and inviting look, and the floor to ceiling windows give the place an openness making it appear more spacious. Loved their menu design in a book form with laminated pages and page markers! It's a nice added detail that I appreciate from restaurants that make the experience that much better. Both dishes we got were delicious and spicy. You can tell each one was prepared as an art form. The house sauce on the furious calamari and on the side was delish. The flavor on my Kao Soi Gai was on point, a bit spicy but I enjoyed it. My boyfriend loved the Ka Praw Gai Khai Dow as it was spicy to his liking and protein rich.

Came in during brunch hours on Saturday because I saw a picture on Yelp of some pandan pancakes only to find out there was no brunch menu, so we were a little bummed about that. But it was cute inside and the servers were really nice. For two of us, we ordered: - Zaab Wings (yummm) - Tom Yum Soup (solid, not that spicy) - Krapow Moo Krob (sweeter than what I prefer with mostly fatty pieces) - Supreme Pad Thai (so good - reminded us of Pad Thai that we had in Krabi, Thailand) Overall we had a really good meal. Hope they consider bringing the pandan pancakes back (if they ever had them) because I've been on a real pancake kick lately.

I've been wanting to try this moody yet inviting entrant into the Greenpoint dining scene for some time. I'm glad I finally did, as the "impossible" larb burger is one of the more exciting dishes I've tried so far in 2025. The larb burger is a reimagining of the classic Thai salad employing sticky rice as buns, served with a fire engine-red chutney that gives the dish some punch. (Practically speaking the burger needs to be de-constructed into classic larb form for consumption, but it's a nice aesthetic touch nonetheless.)

Had early dinner here yesterday with a friend. I read reviews prior to picking this restaurant and was curious how it is. It is a small restaurant with seating inside and outdoors. We were greeted by the host and was given the option where we prefer to sit and we picked inside as it's getting chilly lately in NY. Our host name is Toto, very pleasant and really nice. He chatted with us which is a plus and so much fun! We chose three items to share- we got the curry puff- three round pastries filled with these delicious chicken, potato and curry flavor which you dipped into this oniony sweet sauce. Also got the crab mango vibes which is part of their summer menu - a deep fried soft shell crab topped with mango salad- absolutely delish! The third dish is the chicken pad see ew - basic thai dish but my comfort food, always love it. And the finale is of course, the mango sticky rice with the rich coconut cream on top! My tummy was full and my mood uplifted. Definitely a must try and of course I will come back and try more of their dishes!

Came here for a lovely dinner! Immediately I was charmed by the cute decor - their menus are inside books so it looks like you're reading when you're perusing the menu. We got the tofu massaman for an app, which had a great sauce. The real star were the mains, the pad see ew and the garlic sautéed (both with chicken). For some reason, I found the flavors to be extremely saturated and somehow better than normal versions of these dishes I've had at other Thai restaurants. Highly recommend. It came out to about $50 before tax and tip, which was very reasonable for a night out. Love this spot!

Thank you snowstorm... you forced me to celebrate an anniversary dinner local with last minute reservations. On the "to try" list for quite some time we finally made it to Chinta Thai. Reservation made same day online with ease, table for two noting we were celebrating our anniversary. While we were seated right away, there was no acknowledgment of our special occasion. The concept and offerings were interesting with the menu reading like a fairytale storybook. Loved the concept and inclusion of pics. Ordered a happy hour cocktail... and a regular cocktail a couple appetizer and main entrees... half of the food was room temp upon receipt. They politely (and without hesitation) warmed it up upon request, as I do prefer my rice steaming hot and my food hotter than received. The pork appetizer was full of flavor and delicately balanced jaew sauce with the vermicelli and lettuce. Curious calamari was the mouth feel I didn't know I needed.. crunchy on the surface and tender in the inside, although fried no trace of oil to be seen. Garlic sautéed shrimp was fresh and cooked to perfection (despite the temp issue), however I would've preferred a stronger garlic taste that I'm accustomed to with Thai food. The prawns were held in high regard, as we chewed the heads ...extracting all the flavors. Also cooked well, but not served piping hot. Couple of signature cocktails with smoky mezcal.... And having to pack some to go, as the belly had "no more room at the inn". Overall a delicious dinner, despite the hiccups they were easily corrected. Minus a star for food temp, incorrect itemized bill and failure to mention loyalty program... most of which were corrected when addressed. Worth another attempt to see if they get it all right... but maybe for lunch.

The food is very different than the usual Thai food. The service is so friendly and courteous more than I expected. I like the zero proof cocktail choices. Outdoor sitting is very nice. You can walk people watch as you enjoy your meal watch out for the spices.

Nothing really stood out with the dishes; I found it to be a bit Americanized, having eaten in so many Thai restaurants around New York City. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner here; our food came in timely fashion, and the customer service is good as well, but it's probably not your place if you are seeking a more authentic Thai-style cooking.

We ordered the pad see ew with shrimp, the crab fried rice (amazing), the Pak Mor which is a sweet and savory rice roll that comes with coconut cream dipping sauce (drool worthy), and last but not least the Kao Tom Haeng which also comes with a tasty broth on the side. I'd say that the pad see ew was the weakest dish of what we ordered but it was still tasty. I think it would have been nicer with a different protein, perhaps chicken or tofu. I dislike bamboo shoot which is not a standard ingredient for this particular entrée. I think the bamboo shoot tainted this entrée. I am a traditionalist conservative which bean sprouts is a good substitute variation for bamboo shoot vegetable including string bean. This entrée is my favorite default and as a caveat, if any Thai restaurant or cafe do not offer on their menu I refuse entry to patronize. This entrée enticed my interest and embedded the lunch meal menu for the reasonable price. I personally despise and do not consume spicy hot foods, but occasionally consume mild or very mild in the smallest measurement of the Scoville scale which I specifically requested, but received medium hot spicy. The waitress forewarned me the intense heat level on the Scoville scale as Thai cultural spicy with two or more bird's eye chilies for a high level of spiciness. The spiciness of chili peppers were, in my opinion, medium spicy. Despite the intense medium heat spiciness, the stir-fried noodles lacked flavor with, tender chicken, minimal vegetables, and Thai basil in a bland taste. I wish I chosen shrimp as the protein. Pad Kee Mao sustained my hunger pangs and ate my fill. When eating Thai intense heat spicy foods, I visualize to think of the TV segment "Niall Horan & James Corden Take On Hot Wings" on "The Late Late Show with James Corden" in March, 2020. High heat spicy foods! Thai ice tea, large $3.00 This was a delight and neutralized the heat spiciness because it contains milk. It was served chilled in a large highball glass. The atmospheric conditions were a simple small dine-in cafe. There were many paintings, portraits hanging on their walls of white subway tiles. Gold metallic metal chopsticks and fork are provided. If utensils are gold then the interior cafe should contain these "gaudy" feature extensive gold elements, including gilded moldings and furniture. Peony rose are very simply and made pretty table centerpiece decorations. Takeout menu and business cards are available for grabs. I did received my sales receipt. At the bottom of the sales receipt there is a suggested gratuity in intervals of 18%, 20% and 22% where customers do not have to perform math calculation. I paid $23.00 in cash as the waitress' informative knowledge of the ingredients and preparation of the heat level on the Scoville scale.

My partner was running late, and even though the place is clearly very popular right now, they still accommodated us with a table. The staff explained every unfamiliar dish we asked about, always with a smile. I usually avoid the standard NYC Thai restaurant lineup of pad thai + generic curry situations and look for places that feel more regional and authentic. The menu here had a bunch of dishes I didn't recognize, which immediately made me excited. They even have a spice guide though the icons don't necessarily mean increasing spice levels. As I understood it, different symbols represent different types of heat. Three chili emojis and three meteor emojis may be equally spicy, but they hit differently. They recommended not to order the pad krapow nuer, and honestly, fair enough. Instead, we got the chicken khao soi, which was far better than versions I've had elsewhere - deeply flavorful, spicy, rich with umami. My partner was crying. I, meanwhile, was at "this is perfect and I'm having a great time." One Huge chunk of chicken cooked exactly right. Mix everything thoroughly before eating. Then came the kua kling which arrived with another warning. That dish became my personal challenge to impress the server, and apparently I succeeded because now they've promised that next time they won't discourage me from ordering the nuer. They kept refilling cabbage and cucumber for us to cool down from the heat. The kua kling itself was incredible. That dry curry heat was everything. It builds slowly, then suddenly punches you in the face - but alongside all that spice is an insane amount of flavor. They also recommended to order a non-spicy side dish to have a balanced meal and spice level, but we skipped it because it would've been too much food. Honestly, this is the kind of place where going with at least four people is ideal so you can try more dishes and balance the spice levels. And if you're unsure what to order, trust the servers - their recommendations were spot on. Also: really great ciders and beers. We were really happy with both choices. Overall, even though it's far from the city for me, I'd absolutely go back.

It's a bit pricey, but damn the food is good here! Hungry Thirsty is not your regular Thai spot,…read morebut with more traditional flavors that truly pack a punch in spice. The restaurant is tiny, so be sure to make a reservation. As a lover of spicy food, the spiciness in the dishes really brought out such a great flavor. Since my friend didn't eat as spicy, we found a happy medium getting just slightly spicy dishes which were all fantastic. We ordered the Khao Soi ($33) and Pla Tod Nam Pla ($40). The khao soi wasn't too spicy, especially since the broth has a creaminess and the spicies are on the side before mixing, which you can exclude. The chicken was so tender, but did come with bone so this can be trickier to share. Then the pla tod really surprised me, but I can definitely see why it's the best seller. It is a fried branzino with a marinated fish sauce which goes so nicely with all the crunch. There are a few remaining pieces of bone, so be careful. The fish had a nice balance of fish meat and crunchy skin. If you're looking for a unique Thai spot, this is it. Also, perfect spot for spicy lovers too. They also offer a huge selection of alcohol.

My first time here and it was a great experience. It is Valentine's Day and we left with a cute little gift from them, beautiful gesture. Definitely coming back :)

Had been passing this spot for years and finally had the chance to stop in…read more Host was polite and quickly sat us without a reservation - we wanted to sit outside and there was room thankfully. Wait staff was attentive to dietary needs, exemptions and ensured our request was followed to a T. Ordered some Khao Kriab Pak Mor (dumplings) to start along with a pair of mocktails. And an order of Khao Na Ped (smoked vegan duck) and Ginger Chicken (vegan). All served well with good portion. What I personally liked is the 2 dishes took a bit, not slow or long but IMHO taking a little bit always seems it was cared for in prep. Who knows just my thing. The staff has a challenge to accommodate outdoor seating as the bldg doesn't have an inside/back door for them and they must carry food out the front door, down the sidewalk and into the garden area. That's tough but they do it with grace. The seating was okay since it's early enough but bugs showed up - no surprise - not a complaint just the reality of life and online typing in case anyone is considering it and is more sensitive to the same.
