Absolute favorite Peruvian food! We live close by and since moving around the area we knew we had to try it. Let me start with the ceviche, WOW just WOW! Ceviche de pescado with leche de Tigre was amazing . The spicy lemon that the ceviche soaks in you can drink by itself, it's that great! Their lomo saltado has so much flavor and really you can share their plates are very large. The appetizers are amazing from the jalea de mariscos to the calamari very very good ! Ordered food to go because this was the closest Peruvian restaurant that delivers! I gave it a 3 stars because there Lomo Saltado didn't have the normal veggies that I am use to. I asked for no rice but more veggies and the man on the phone said they only had tomatoes and onions to add! Forget that! Anyhow when you get the food delivered don't be shocked to see rice and fries on the to go box and the meat aside so the fries doesn't get soggy. Two thumbs up for that! My husband ordered Bistek el Pobre and overall he said it wasn't bad! It came with rice and egg on top with plantains and fries! The egg was suppose to be sunny side up but it was too cooked that there was no yolk. The amount of fries was pretty decent! I was very surprised that such a nice restaurant would be in this bad part of town. Great customer service, the waitress really knew the menu and recommended traditional Peruvian food to us. It was our first time trying Peruvian food. It was a beautiful night out, so we sat outside. The waitress always kept coming back to ask us politely if everything was ok. We never felt neglected. I don't think I would recommend sitting outside if you don't want to swat flies throughout the meal. There is nothing to shield us from the busy street. The food was so good though, that we didn't mind much. The cheese papas were good, not great because it wasn't hot, but the sauce was delicious. I got the rib eye with plantains; my bf got the traditional beef dish with tomatoes and onions. They were both pretty good--for $13.99 and $10.99, this is very excellent quality food and service. This is my go to Peruvian food place. Their quality of ingredients is like no other in the area. The little bread rolls they have are so fluffy and melt in your mouth soft in the middle, freshly made. I've tried their Tallarines Verdes with Steak and the Beef Lomo Saltado. Parking in this place is bad. I had to ask around the restaurant for the person, who was blocking my car, to move their car. Ordered the yuca Frita With the yellow sauce and both had no taste. My entree was the churrasco with plantains and a salad, that was pretty good. My wife's aji de gallina was terrible and salty. Service was good, attentive and polite. Service was immediate and cordial. The bread was not warm nor toasted. The response was,"we have no toaster..." I don't know anyone that like cold bread. I had a voucher about to expire so that got me motivated. I'm pretty familiar with Peruvian food from the Pollo Inka chain in the South Bay area, so the menu was fairly easy to navigate. In fact I made my own batch of the green sauce (aji) just a few days ago so I wanted to compare my South Bay version to a San Fernando Valley version. I ordered ahead for takeout, the 1/2 pollo brasa with sides of fries and frijoles, and the chaufa de mariscos, which all came with small servings of the yellow and green sauces. The half chicken with fries and peruvian beans was good, but I thought the sides could have been a little more generous. The sauces were impressive; if not exactly what I expected, they still had a nice flavor and kick. I was most impressed with the chaufa de mariscos which had mussels, shrimp, calamari, and a whole prawn in it. The eggs and rice were perfect too, nothing overdone. The place is very nice, lots of seating inside and out at 2pm after the lunch rush, and my takeout order was ready when I arrived. If the items I ordered were a little bigger, I would give it five stars. The quality certainly wasn't lacking. I think I'm a little spoiled by the lunch specials at the South Bay restaurants. I would go back, to try the Agauditos soup, and the Saltado de Pollo or Saltado de Lomo. Those are also standards that I can relate to. But with what I sampled today, I was pretty satisfied. read more

Lomo saltado is off the hook. Tender juicy meat, great texture on fried potatoes, delicious any seasoned rice. Leche de tigre and cevichillo are easily their best plates... Mariscos saltado... Total miss. 80 percent mostly calamari and once shrimp. Waiter was kind enough to fix it and add a bunch more but.. Not sure if fluke or not. Really appreciate the gesture. I tried this restaurant for the first time yesterday. I took my mom and my kids. There is NO PARKING! I dropped them off and had to park a block away. After a few minutes we were seated. We ordered the Parilla Chios with a salad and rice, Piqueo Marino, and a side order of Plátano Frito. We saw that everyone else received a basket of freshly baked bread but we didn't get any despite being told they were bringing it. The parilla was overdone except for the chicken. We sent it back and it was replaced but way undercooked this time. I didn't want to send it back again so I just boxed it to bring home and grill to my liking. The Piqueo Marino was very good especially the ceviche. The rice and salad were ok, and the plátanos were small. The service was not so good. Our waters were not refilled and the waitress didn't come by to check on us at all. I had to get up to ask for steak knives and my check. We paid over $100 (incl. undeserved tip). This used to be my favorite place I came here for years! But as of lately the last few visits have been unpleasant, I ignored it as it's my fav food. Last time I visited was around December time I ordered my usual ceviche de pescado I took it home mind you i live 20 min away! I got home after 4 bites I see a thick black hair soo I stopped and called spoke to the manager. I asked for a refund I paid with card. I was soo upset and she told me that there was no way, all the kitchen staff wore hats! I said ok but there's still a hair in my food and demanded a refund but she told me I had to come in. Still has the issues of things not being included if you don't pay more for the things that were supposed to be included ('shrimp' dishes with no actual 'shrimp' unless you pay more to get ... shrimp). So, run run run away, and go to *any* other Peruvian restaurant, and you'll get food that actually is what it says it is (without upcharges)... you know, all the 'yum', with none of the 'dumb' (misleadingly labeled food choices). The food is delicious but the service is horrible! The young girl waitresses are a disaster! The older aged waitresses are more friendlier and efficient. We don't mind the parking but it's very sad that such a beautiful restaurant that serves delicious food is served by unfriendly waitresses. I hope the administration considers talking to them because a five star restaurant consists of three imperative things: 1) good food 2) great service 3) sufficient parking.
