Tallarín verde. Well done
Michael C.

This is the 3rd time we've ordered for pickup. I always order it medium and this is how it comes, extra well done. I ordered 2 of these and they are $25 each! No bueno

I ordered for an Easter meal on that Sunday. I ordered: OCTOPUS $42.50 PULPO A LA PARILLA BEEF TENDERLOIN ($28.79) (CHURRASCO A LA PARILLA) SEAFOOD RISOTTO ($24.99) (ARROZ CON MARISCOS) Everything was to DIE for! Everything so tender and juicy! The beef tenderloin knocked me out of my seat! I ended ordering there again a few days later because that's how much I loved this dish!

A shrimp served with the "jalea" dish.

A restaurant shouldn't serve shrimp with the vein (digestive tract) because it can contain grit, waste, fecal matter and bacteria, making the shrimp taste bitter and look unappetizing--reflecting poor attention to cleanliness and quality.

So this location is little slow and parking is not the best with only a few spots but the food is still delicious. Order the lomo saltado or mar y tierra. You get full off all the fries and rice. When the sauce soaks up the rice, oh man it's good. They give free warm bread as the appetizer. The green sauce has a kick so beware.

This is probably the best Peruvian place I have tried They have a few locations and I have been going to the Van Nuys one The service is excellent, and the prices are really reasonable I usually get the roasted chicken and also the seafood soup So fresh and so delicious Give it a try, you wanna regret it

La Copa

My go to ceviche spot in the valley !!! I love the Copa as it has such a special flavor and makes the ceviche unique. Chios is a staple for peruvian food in the valley, the service is always great. Im a regular and highly recommend

Was needing to treat myself and seafood was what I needed. I got there late but was greeted warmly and seated quickly. A seafood combo platter was so scrumptious. Tends octopus, calamari, shrimp, muscles, potatoes and all covered in savory sauce. The best!

Chio's was a good experience! I had lunch with a friend. The fish ceviche was fresh, the green spaghetti packed with flavor, the Anticuchos very tasty and the Lomo Saltado was really good. The service was attentive, but the atmosphere, while okay, could use some improvement.

We go to Chio's when we want some pulpo (octopus) and their Peruvian meat dishes (lamb and steak). This is our first time in this branch since the nearest one closed (Tarzana). Also went to their other Van Nuys branch before but this spot is less hectic and it was quiet for a Friday night - not sure if it's because we got there before 8pm. First thing - very limited parking - you'll have to snag a spot on the street. There's indoor and outdoor dining. We sat indoor and ordered calamari, pulpo, steak with fries and fried rice with beef. For drinks we got some inka sodas, chicha morada and Maracuya... not sure which one is the purple drink but I prefer the passion fruit one. So we keep going back here when we're craving octopus. I cook different dishes and whenever I go to a restaurant I always tend to order food that I won't cook myself. Octopus is one of those so it's always expensive when you order octopus in a restaurant but I don't mind the price if it's tender and flavorful. Underneath the octopus are some corn, potatoes, shrimps and squid. The sauces - love the green one - I think it's chimichurri. Speaking of green sauces - the one they include with the hot bread is good too. Love it when you get warm fresh bread. We recommended to my son to get the other beef dish that has sauce but he opted for the one pictured below. It looked dry to me but my son said it was very tasty. He cooks and seasons well when he does so I'll take his word for it. We saw a heaping serving of calamari ordered by another diner so we ordered one too. I would say for the price they have bigger serving for the calamari. The mains we've ordered here are about $20-$35+ but can be for sharing. We tend to not experiment with food so when we know what we liked - we tend to go back and order the same thing. Eating out is not cheap these days so why risk ordering something you don't really want. Location is not the best so we will probably go back and check out the new Tarzana location since that's closer. I

This is what 26$ get you plains garbage dnt waste your money frozen pre made fries and bland plain white microwave rice
Jasmine M.

Deserves zero star this is what a $26 plate looks like Basic premade, frozen french fries, and bland microwaved, white rice This is a lomo saltado plate I DO NOT recommend this restaurant. Tried to give them a second try and it seems they've gotten worse. Take your money elsewhere. overpriced and just a hype. this order comes with bread and I had to tell the lady after checking both orders where my bread was, then she got some plain pizza looking roll no sauces or anything ugh garbage this is not Peruvian food

Pollo a la parilla, the chicken was too dry... and the papa a la huancaina was nasty. On top of that they charge 8.99 for shitty food.

We ordered the meat combo plate, which came with beef lula kabob as well as chicken kabob and beef kabob pieces. The plate also came with hummus and because I came with my daughter and she demanded fries, I replaced the included basmati rice for freshly made fries. In addition, we decided to order a side of baba ganoush, which was very flavorful and just so worth it. The meats were outstanding. Both, chicken and beef kabob pieces were nicely marinated, perfectly grilled and delicious. The beef lula kabob really stood out to me and it's one of the better ones I've had in LA -- very juicy, well marinated ground beef and they cooked it so the juices are trapped inside the lula and they only get released after you bite into it. What I got was a perfect bite every time and those delicious beef juices made my taste buds say Yaaaaay and nourished my soul. Overall, a very good meal at a good price and it had my wife and daughter satisfied. The spot is located on a medium-size plaza with many parking spots. The inside is clean and has about 8 tables for dining in. The service was good and friendly. A worthy local place for a quick, delicious Mediterranean food. Will come back again!

For $21.99 it's worth getting especially since it comes with saffron rice, salad, pita bread, and a choice of regular hummus or spicy hummus. I chose the latter which isn't too spicy, but still delicious with a hint of smoky heat.

Instagram pictures are perfection and the food looks very appetizing. The place is Nice looking Instagram worthy. Super clean and inviting . Smells clean. The waitresess are super sweet and helpful. You might ask. Why the 1 star review. Well.... I ordered chilaquiles. The ones that come with green and red salsa.. i wanted to see which salsa was better. Green salsa is a beautiful flavor tangy lil spicy well seasoned. But it was just green salsa poured over chips.. not incorporated and cooked together. The red salsa was well seasoned spicy and smokey. Not sure if they uses chile morita or Chipotle. Same thing salsa just poured over chips.. i mean I can enjoy some crispy chilaquiles but that was just straight up chips and salsa. The beans on the side were also really good. The "steak" was carne picada.. and honestky it was a bit hard. My chilaquiles did not come with cheese or crema . So I asked the waitress if they weren't supposed to come with . She was very apologetic and brought ke some on the side... ummmmm. Didnt taste the same as it would've already been added to the plate. Then. While I was eating the chips with salsa on my plate I pull it of the plate and what do I see. A freaking nasty ass hair!! honestly its been hrs since I left and im still queasy. I called over one of the waitresss that was available and she said it was from the egg. Ummmmm seriously. From the egg. It was about 5inches long. How could it be from the egg. She freaking passed me off. Whe she saw my face she said she was gonna call her supervisor who was the waitess that I had from the start. She was super embarrassed and apologized.. she took my plate to the back and in fact came back to say it was a hair. "If I wanted anything else".. ummmm hell no!!! I know shit has to to with cheese and and wasn't good t3t£appens .. but damn. 1st no sour cream and cheese in my food. Then the hair ugh no thanks.. im certain I will not be back... super disappointed.

Within two weeks of regular orders, the owner Efren called me personally. They were out of my almond croissants, so he stayed late, made a batch himself, and dropped them off on his way home. He remembered a note I'd left on a receipt about just moving back and wanted to make sure I was taken care of. The food is excellent -- salads, sandwiches, quesadillas, pastries -- and I routinely get two to three days' worth for fifty dollars. But what sets Victory Cafe apart is something you can't fake: genuine care, consistency, and a team that clearly reflects how they're led. Loyal customer for life. I'm so disappointed in this place and I will never be coming here again because of some dumb policy…read morethey have, if you place an order for pick up, you have to get back in line to ask for your food, even if you place the order along time ago, and if your food is ready and sitting on the counter. I put a pick up order on Uber eats and I gave them lots of time to make it, I went about 10 minutes after my pick up delivery time so that I can make a fast pick up on my way to work, there was a huge line When I got inside and when the cashier was done taking someone's order, I just said hi I'm here to pick up my order, and he scored me in front of all of the customers said that I had to get in the back of the line until I talk to him to pick up an order that was already READY! I'm never coming here again, the food isn't worth it to have to wait in line to pick up some thing that I already ordered, that's the point of ordering!!! This is the dumbest policy since this place is notorious for being slow! This guy is the worst at his job, because he actually kept stalling the line by telling me to get in the back of the line, when it would've been faster to ask me my name and just pass me the bag. He obviously can't multitask, and that's not a restaurant that I want to go to.! I don't have all day to pick up a breakfast burrito, and not to mention, there's never parking in the parking lot, and my car was double parked. Not worth it the hassle!!!
