This place has become one of my favorites and I make sure to come every time I'm in town. For today, I decided to get the thin confetti, thin s'mores, and regular chocolate chip. The guy behind the counter recommended the confetti and the s'mores. I decided to get those two and a regular chocolate chip since I have yet to eat one since being here. The s'mores was divine and really hit the spot. I loved the graham cracker mixed in, as well as the other ingredients. The confetti was pretty good but wasn't as soft as the other one. The chocolate chip is nice and thick and reminds me of the one from Grandma's cookies but in a different way. Chip city has been around Astoria for a while, I feel like they have a new location every month so kudos to them! I'm an occasional fan and think there are better chocolate chip cookies (just because I think they're particularly sweet) but I think it's so smart of them to do specialty cookies on a weekly basis and keep a look out on the new flavors. I went over the weekend because I wanted to try the fruit tart and I was amazed at how good it was! I bought 3! I believe they were $7 each which could be pricey but honestly it was worth it! Okay this location and the west village are the best. Forest hills is garbage and their cookies are SIGNIFICANTLY AND CONSISTENTLY ALWAYS SMALLER. So if you're coming to chip, come to Astoria!!!! I walked in after dinner for dessert and they were so friendly. The young lady was so patient with me because it was my 1st time and had no clue which one I wanted . Came in for my free birthday cookie, which is nice that they give a birthday treat! So many new cookie options to ogle over. I got the Red Velvet Hot Chocolate cookie, which was a red velvet cookie with chocolate pudding filling in the middle. It was pretty good. The service is always really friendly. It's such a trap walking by here. I don't plan on getting a cookie, but once you're there and step in, it's inevitable. Prices have gone up over the years. The specialty limited edition cookies even go for $7. I guess it's the price increase everywhere, but it was nice when they used to be less than $5 for one. Did you know that this is the original location??? Man I was parked right out front leaving an event in the pouring rain and my stomach must have eyes and legs because out of no where I was out my car and at the front door. The two young ladies assisted were awesome as I exploded with elation thru the door telling them how much I was wanting to try the cookies. I love a good cookie, and while Chip City may be that for some people, it unfortunately does not crack the top 10 for me (but that is mainly for personal preference). I do enjoy their creative flavors that rotate regularly and the cookies are of a certain substantial heft so I do feel that you are getting your money's worth. However, my biggest complaint is that they are much too sweet (which may not be a problem for others!) and soft (again, not necessarily an issue if you prefer cookies on the softer side) for me. This location is tucked away on a quiet side street by the 30th Av (N/W) station. It is quite small, even with the bar seating so I would definitely recommend grab and go. read more

I am a huge fan of their cookies and their usual flavors. This time around they had Triple Chocolate (My fav), Funfetti, Blueberry Cheesecake, Chocolate Chip. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and with the staff behind the counter being so patient, I was able to have a great experience, since I always have a tough time deciding what I want. In only 4 years, they jacked up the price per cookie by nearly 60%. However, they forgot one important fact, which is that Levain Bakery exists, is in Queens, and is the same price as they are. And unfortunately, they cannot compete with perfection. They would have been better off trying to compete on value than on quality. I can't say they are bad, because they aren't. Baking your own cookies is rare in this day and age. But I don't feel the value proposition is there compared to when they opened.
