Their decor is retro fast good aesthetic with lots of red and white gingham print. Every restaurant has a similar vibe, down to the palm trees out front!

The bean and cheese burrito was a pretty good size for the value size. However, the beans were very plain. Not much seasoning. I wont let this detour me. It was late and just an off night. I have really enjoyed coming here on all my past visits. Their food is savory and delicious... their latest Taco Tuesday prices for street tacos are only $1.50 each!

The people working here ration the food like they are on the walking dead tv show. 3 times I have been here and they make these tiny burritos and get pleasure out of ripping people off. Get a life! I made the mistake of asking for "double meat" and received less than a normal portion of chicken. It was not just a one time thing either, just about every time i have been to this location the portions were despicable. When you go to chipotle you shouldn't leave hungry. read more

Our food came out very quickly, but unfortunately, the tortilla soup was honestly horrible, lol. This was the first time I've ordered something here that I genuinely didn't like. The chicken was juicy, flavorful, and clearly grilled, but the rest of the soup just didn't taste good to me. I wonder if it was because they added pico de gallo? Besides the chicken and pico, it contained tortilla strips and some type of cheese throughout. I let our server know, and he seemed to agree that adding pico might be the reason the tortilla soup isn't a customer favorite. I appreciated that he listened and was honest about it. I already know the Shrimp Mazatlán is delicious because it's one of my favorites. However, now that I'm finally coming back after being away for more than a year, I've made it my goal to branch out and try more items on the menu. The tortilla soup may have been a miss for me, but one disappointing dish definitely isn't enough to keep me from returning. El Tapatio has taken Auburn by storm and is easily one of the #1 restaurants up here.... from trying their tacos and their enchiladas... their margaritas and great service from the host stand all the way up to Ivan, who I see managing every time I go... Both were prefect: the tostada was loaded with moist chicken pieces and topped with shredded cheese, lettuce and chopped tomatoes. I use cheese enchiladas as a benchmark for measuring the sauce and preparation of this dish. EFT passes with flying colors - one of the best I have ever had. Likewise the refried beans were prepared to silky smoothness, very delicious. My wife ordered a cheese quesadilla which she liked very much, and two chicken tacquitos which she raved about. Our two guests split an order of steak Ranchera, a generous portion of meat with peppers and onions. The salsa bar is beautiful and features a mild and a hotter red salsa, a blazing orange habanero offering, Avocado dressing and an interesting creamy,cheese-infused dressing I have never encountered before - very tasty. They have a cucumber salad which is refreshing and a pico de gallo with marinated Jalapenos, carrots and pickled red onions. The tortilla chips are crispy, warm and not over salted. Thankfully the food was served hot after a short wait. The place is spotlessly clean and the staff are attentive and friendly. We will be returning soon and can't wait to explore more of the menu.
