no hate to the staff but this location is out of control. for my bowl to be up to 12 dollars as of recently, while you guys are still ridiculously stingy while serving... i've been going to this exact location since i was a teenager and the burritos were 8 dollars. i barely go now because of the price point and portions. i refuse to get guacamole because a burrito / bowl made by yall is not worth 15 to 20 dollars. we already know your CEO is a greedy mf but this location clearly licks boots. today was my first time paying 12 something for my bowl and it was mostly filled with rice clumps and hot beans. i can name 10 mexican food spots that put yall to shame. humble yourselves. you are a tier above taco bell. read more

Went in about 1:50 p.m. this lady server had a real bad attitude. Around third of the containers were almost empty they never refilled, and they just scrape the bottom when I order a chipotle bowl. This was on May 15 Friday. You need to train your people more just about attitude like they do not want to work there. read more

Within one month, the size of their burrito bowl has shrunk significantly. If you ask Alexa, "How much does a burrito bowl from Chipotle weigh"? And the answer is 15 ounces. My bowl was 9.5 oz. Don't get me wrong; I don't always weigh my food, but when I got my last bowl, it felt much lighter than before, so I pulled out the old food scale and wasn't shocked. Not sure why this location has bad ratings but this Gilman location is definitely one of the best Chipotles out there. They give good portions, proper scoop of guacamole and generous on the cheese. Staff are always nice, too. What's not to like?? You should try the nearby El Cerrito location and you'll truly appreciate this one. The EC location is soooo stingy, like half a scoop of guacamole. I have been patronizing this particular location in Berkeley probably one to two times a week for the last month because the food c/s is and they make my food. I stopped in today on my way out to the valley and wasn't greeted that warmly, but no big deal. I proceeded to order my bowl and I asked for the vegetables which they didn't have any left. The woman behind the counter told me it would be about three minutes and I didn't have a problem with that, it seemed to frustrate her, she then asked if she could just continue making my bowl and put them on the side keep in mind there was no line . I declined. no thank you I like it mixed in with my bowl. She then proceeded to turn around and ask the cook. If there was vegetables (again I was willing to wait 3 minutes) he (the cook) handed her the container with a small amount of nothing g but the red peppers, when I pointed it out she again got an attitude she even added extra, I should've took a picture. All it looked like was a pile of red on top of it. You couldn't even see the rice in the in the beans at that point I just left .the red peppers, no green or red onion. I told her she argued with me and said it wasn't, she loaded a whole lot of it on and so now I'm just looking at this bowl that she halfway threw together with a bunch of red topping at that point I just them to forget it and I turned around and walked out. She was very rude didn't try to accommodate me. I wasn't rude in anyway like I said I go to this location on purpose because it's good but this isn't the usual staff. I can go spend my $18-$24 someplace else so no would not recommend this place is definitely isn't the Berkeley that I remember and it was too early in the day for her to already have an attitude and the guy that was standing next to her a tall, Hispanic man he seemed like he was afraid of her. I was very disappointed. I strongly do not recommend this place.. I was in this location. It was between 1140 and 12 o'clock today so do I recommend it? NO!!! read more

Long time customer here, especially ordering from this branch. I hadn't ordered any food from the Gilman location, since November, when I picked up two salads to take home. I often by double or triple items at a time, in order to cover a few meals for myself. Anyway, those two salads were noticeably gritty, touch to chew ingredients, a very dissatisfying. Fast forward to last evening, when I decided to take a chance again, and ordered delivery of three chicken salads with tortillas. The delivery process was quick, as a man arrived on a scooter with meal in hand. However, I attempted to eat one salad, and save the other two for lunch& dinner the following day. As I began eating the first order, I noticed the same gritty consistency from all of the ingredients, even the chicken , veggies,, etc.. Even the tortillas were uneatable, tasty like dry tough taffy, with zero flavor. Shortly, after giving up on that meal, I began to feel nauseated. So, after all the extra fees for delivery, plus a generous tip to the driver, I will have to request a full refund from Chipotle, I will stick to Crepevine salads in the future. Chipotle corporate office, and this location have always been fair on trying to make things right over the years, however the food ingredients quality is just unacceptable anymore. I am still recovering from the first dish, the other s two salads & tortillas are in the fridge, and it is a total in convenience to have to take the food back, and explain after the whole delivery expense. read more

Showed up at 9:15 PM, 45 minutes before closing time. The employee did not have the decency to tell me that he did not have any queso dip, sour cream, guacamole, and was running very low on corn. I already had 2 bowls made and I didn't want to give them a hard time and have them toss the food should I have left. The final straw was that they did not have any ice left on the fountain drink machine. They couldn't tell me that before I paid for everything. This place has turn into a shit show. The people here are really nice and they keep the restaurant clean and food stocked. The only bad thing that I dislike is how rude customers are to them!! Every time I come here someone is being really unkind and they handle it with grace even though they shouldn't have to. Please remember that the workers are humans. This is the worst bowl I've ever received from a Chipotle restaurant. I could physically count the amount of chicken that was given to me. The bowl was mostly rice lettuce and sour cream. They are not "Mission style" that take two days to eat, but simple and moderate sized for a meal. The servers are friendly and fast. Price: B Based on the quality and quantity of food you get, the price of Chipotle burritos/bowl is not bad. It's worth the penny and more so, it's just hard to say no once it goes on your tastebuds. Staff: A I don't think I have ever been to a bad service Chipotle *knock on wood*. Albeit, it's not a restaurant where they serve you at your table, but their cleanliness and just overall willingness to adjust on the fly for ingredient changes makes me want to believe they don't mind their job to the point of depression or complacency. I love having chipotle for lunch. We had the best service. The staff was very nice. They put plenty of everything you want. Everything was fresh and healthy. I like making my chicken bowl with brown rice, chicken, both black and brown beans, tomatoes, corn, sour cream, lettuce, and cheese. When it comes to seating, They have a lot of seating inside and outside. Tables were clean and it was nice to finally find a good chipotle location where we can just sit down and eat without wiping a table from those people that eat like pigs, lol read more

INFLATION. Prices are rising so fast they are not even posted.! When we do not feel like cooking and want quality food Chipotle has been the place. HOWEVER, they are driving me to cook more often. I went there on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 for burrito bowls and a quesadilla. I usually get a bowl with the cheese and salsa etc. on the side as we sometimes get busy and reheat the food later. This is now a problem among others. Problems: 1. They now charge for anything they do not put on the bowl! 2. You have to stay on top of the folks because they will leave things out e.g. if you order tortillas make sure they put them in the bag. This is an ongoing problem. 3. There is no mention ANYWHERE of the new policy of charging for things on the side. 4. You can only order a quesadilla online! Seems like the corporate bean counters have taken over. I had to go to another place for a quesadilla. I think I will give Chipotle a break and go elsewhere. read more

One of my fave Chipotle locations. Plenty indoor/outdoor seating, friendly service, and they don't skimp out on the portions. Also next to REI which is a plus. The only con would be it's actual location since the parking lot in this plaza gets packed. They do have 2 10-min pick up spots right in front, but aside from that it's basically a free for all. read more

Okay I've made my mind up and this is defiantly the best Chipotle in the local Richmond area. I like that the sides are always fresh and the meat is flavored and cooked well each time. They offer order pick up and every time I've used this service the food is ready at the suggested pickup time. They aren't Skimpy on the meat and toppings which is nice considering the price you pay! My go to Chipotle! Giving it 4 stars because the customer service could use a little bit improvement! More friendly but overall I like this place a lot read more
