Cross Contamination 101 (Apparently Optional at Chipotle Martinez) Just walked out of Chipotle Martinez tonight (January 29, 2026) without food because I watched cross contamination happen in real time. I ordered a quesadilla and a quesarito (yes, I know those are everyone's favorite items to hate making). What followed was a master class in how not to handle food. First issue: the employee placed my tortilla on a piece of foil that was clearly too small. Second: the tortilla was hanging over the foil and directly touching the dirty metal prep surface. Third: as they walked down the line, the tortilla dragged across other food trays. Salsa. Sour cream. The whole tour. Fourth: I politely pointed it out. The employee looked at me... and kept going, then handed it off to the next person. Fifth: I told the next employee the tortilla had been dragging on the metal counter and across the food trays. Completely clueless. Sixth: instead of starting over, she simply tried to re-center the already contaminated tortilla on the tiny foil sheet. Pro tip: this is where you throw it away and start fresh. Two sheets of foil from the beginning would have helped too. Seventh: not a single employee stopped and said, "Hey, let's remake this." Not one. That's when I finally said, "Never mind, thank you, I'm good," and walked out. Shame on management. Shame on the employees. Shame on Chipotle. Food safety isn't optional, and customers shouldn't have to supervise basic hygiene. It's no mystery why this location can't get past three stars. Next stop is probably a health inspection -- and honestly, if this is what happens in plain sight, I don't even want to imagine what happens behind the counter. Do better. read more

Just don't understand how at any point and time that a customer come in the employees here are going to scrape the bottom of the pan with all the crusted dried black beans instead of replacing the beans with fresh beans? Manager is this a common practice that every bean needs to be used before replacing. The food (burrito and burrito bowl) was awful because we had dried bean crusties in our food! All food items were stocked, including the non soda beverages. Ambiance is that of most Chipotle's. Inside seating, and even a small patio with outdoor seating. Parking is a little tricky as this location shares a parking lot with a drive thru Starbucks, a Panda Express and a Dollar Tree. read more

I'm giving this a four because if you go to chipotle you go there knowing what it is and what it is not It's not authentic Mexican food. But it is very consistent, flavorful, the servings are big and the prices, right They have interesting meat flavors, although my go to is the Sofrito. Today I got a bowl with brown rice, one scoop of each bean, corn, cheese, and sour cream. I do like that they have the full selection of Tabasco brand hot sauces. My go to is the green sauce. Don't order from their app for delivery. A big mistake was done to my order salsa was added when I did not order salsa and I'm allergic to tomatoes and the app customer service refused to refund me. Instead sent me a reward for free guac which I also don't eat. read more

I've been a Chipotle customer since 2002 and this is by far the most disappointing location I've experienced. The portion sizes are extremely small in comparison to every other Chipotle I've been to throughout the Bay Area. The only reason I give it Two Stars is due to friendly service. Again, we are eating Chipotle because the children want Chipotle. We have come in a few times and its not too busy usually. Service is fast so that's good. My go to is a salad bowl with carnitas. This location doesn't crisp up their carnitas like the other Pleasant Hill location does. Its pretty wet as they say. They dole out bigger portions here it seems too. But that doesn't mean its better. Chipotle is the perfect 3 star restaurant no matter which one you go into. Its ok and hits the spot. Nothing more, nothing less. read more

I really should've listened to the bad reviews on this location, I normally love chipotle but this was terrible! And don't go out of my way to leave bad reviews but Customer service was the worst not a hi not a single word at all, they were putting the smallest half scoops into the plate of rice and everything else I kept saying can you put a bit more? And they would throw in the smallest amount more like seriously thought they were trying to joke around but nope they were serious!! The food taste was another thing that was terrible chipotle is normally very consistent in taste and this location doesn't have that either. I paid $40 for 2 bowls that were basically the size of 1 bowl I get at other locations. My whole experience here was bad just close down this location if your employees are very clearly upset they are even working there. read more

The menu is great but i don't come here often because the only meat on the menu that is not spicy is the carnitas and i dont have pork very often. They straight SKIMP on meat and rice, i have no idea why, Your charging someone $15 for a bowl- when it would take 6 bites to demolish the whole thing doesn't make sense to me. Came here tonight after a long day to get some dinner for my daughter and myself, and everything seemed fine at the time. They weren't busy and we were able to put in our order with no issues. I got all the way home and realized that they forgot to out my daughters quesadilla (the main part of a kids meal) in the bag. I tried to call and let them know it was missing and they have an automated answering system that twice hung up on me after saying it would connect me to the restaurant. I then drove all the way back and told them they forgot it, and they made a new quesadilla and gave a half hearted "hey sorry man" apology. I noticed they put two quesadillas in the bag so I thought "well that's nice they're giving us a little something for their mistake." I get home and check the bag. The remake quesadilla was half cooked with most of the cheese unmelted and falling out. And this is the "second" one they put in the bag... For how slow they were, it's pretty astounding to me how careless they were. I guess this is what I get for giving the place another chance after their last screw up... read more

The first time I came here was on April 1st, 2013; when they were only opened for less than a week. Back then, their service was extremely slow that it felt like a broken down ride at Disneyland. After I finally reached the front counter, the employees were very frugal with their portions. Definitely the smallest portions that I've ever seen at all the Chipotle's that I've been too. I actually had to ask her twice to add more rice to my burrito bowl. They were definitely in their learning phase. Since I've returned on May 14th, they have been very good at increasing their serving portions; although their service is still very slow, but it's still a massive improvement. The interior of the restaurant is actually bigger than it looks from the outside; but unfortunately.., the parking lot is way too small. I will be returning, but I will come before noon or sometime after their lunch hour rush. read more
