Avoid at all cost. The service here is absolutely terrible. There is no consistency in how much of each item you get. It varies wildly from customer to customer. The staff come across as lazy and don't seem to care about the food they are serving. They drop beef into to chicken all the time and don't care at all. This place is just the worst. Ive left there twice and gotten home to find my order all wrong, and another time I got back to find a burrito bowl DROWNED in sour cream. The whole thing had to be thrown out. Terrible-worst chipotle I have ever been to. I placed an order for 5:30 and had to wait outside until 6:15. The order was supposed to be guaranteed for pick up at 5:30 and instead had to wait outside for 45minutes. 45 minutes. How long does it take to make a burrito bowl between 6 employees? All the reviews indicate that the service is horrid and they have no ability to adapt to increasing orders. We decided to give them restaurant a chance and are so happy we did! 1st: the employees were super friendly, 2nd: our order was done on time and CORRECT!!! Update: The last two visits have been much better, so I am raising their grade from two stars to four in the hopes they continue their new trend of being like all other Chipoltes... I have been a Chipotle fan for more than five years, eating at several in California, Nevada, Massachusetts and Rhode Island and having meals at or from Chipotle Grills at least 50 times. Chipotle's food is consistently fresh, delicious and has great portions, except at the Middletown Grill, where the food is fresh and delicious, but the portions are skimpy, especially in their "bowl" meals. And even though you pay extra for the guacamole, the servers at the Middletown Grill could not be more stingy with guacamole, to the point where you feel they are ripping you off. Also, the guacamole does not appear quite as fresh at the Middletown Grill as you normally see it. Update May 21, 2016: Changing the rating to the highest possible after having nothing but great food, serving size and service for months. Great job folks! read more

I am very disappointed in the amount of ingredients I receive whenever I come to this location. I come here often because it's so close to my work and every time, I feel like it's less and less that I receive. I always get a burrito bowl and whenever I go to other locations, it's practically over flowing. Meanwhile, when I go to this location, I get one small scoop of rice and meat and the bowl is practically empty. I can finish it in one sitting and still be hungry. read more

Yesterday evening my teenage daughter asked me to pick her up food from Chipotle Restaurant before going to her dance class. To save on time I called Chipotle restaurant in Middletown RI, to place an order for pick up. A young man answered the phone and asked a coworker if they wanted to take a phone order. He then told me that he's not taking phone orders. I asked why and he said that they were understaffed and it was busy. I decided to go into the restaurant since I was a short distance away. To my surprise when I walked in there was just one person in front of me. While I was waiting in line to be served Johnathan, the employee who answered the phone when I called to place the order, proceeded to complain out loud to his coworkers about the phone call he just received. Jonathan also complained out loud about the hours of his shift saying that it's the worst shift possible. I don't think he realized or cared that the person who made the phone call was standing in line. JOHNATHON should not be working in an establishment where you have to interact with people. Your food is great, my recommendation for your own reputation is to not hire people like Johnathon, or at least put them to work in a position where they are not interacting with people. read more

First time I tried them, a month or two after they opened, the burritos were of inconsistent size and quantity of each ingredient, for the same exact burrito!! I sent a letter through the Chipotle website and they sent me a coupon for a free burrito which I still haven't used and don't think I ever will. Second time I tried them was today when a bunch of my work mates wanted to place an order to go. I ordered a steak burrito bowl with a side of chips and guacamole. Well, lo and behold, they forgot a few of my mate's side salsas and my side of guacamole which you pay dearly for. My boyfriend and I used to like coming here a lot but recently (about the past 10 times) our burritos are always messed up. It's the same person working who makes them so badly, they always rip and the ingredients are put on the tortilla in a strange way so that eating it isn't enjoyable. We like chipotle and want to eat here but we are put off by this person. It doesn't make sense that they usually have 5 people working and always have this person making the burritos and they're always messed up. Teach this person better or hire someone else!!!
