I love some Chipotles! This location lacked the usual charm I've experienced at other places. The staff was a little on the unfriendly side and seemed confused. I was not greeted or thanked. The chips were stale and the sofritas was too watery. I'd come back and will update when I do. read more

Chipotle? Good. Springfield Chipotle? Terrible. Service is unbelievably slow compared to every other Chipotle I've ever been to. Understaffed and poor management. Writing this review as I wait in line. Be prepared to spend 30 minutes in there. Other then that, food is addicting-ly good. This town needs a second one downtown or on the northside... PS, don't like the service? Write a letter, you'll more than likely receive a free burrito (that is if you want to go back to wait in the line). Don't get me wrong, I love chipotle. But this store gives the smallest portions. I frequently eat at chipotles in St. Louis and Chicago and I've never gotten such small portions. I didn't go away hungry but I'm conditioned to want as much product for my money so when other chipotles are giving larger portions a feel a little disappointed. read more

I have tried chipotle a few times because a few of my friends rave about it. I guess I don't get it. I think it is bland and loaded with way to much rice on the burritos. I much prefer Qdoba. I will try Chipotle 1 more time only because they finally decided (way, way overdue!!!) to serve queso. It's unfortunate that this is the only Chipotle in the Springfield area. Because they suck. I travel from Chicago a few times a year here on business, and every single time I wait in line between 15-30 minutes. You're never greeted, never thanked. I'm sorry, but my business is important isn't it? The food is still good like every other chipotle, that is, if you get a standard portion like every other chipotle. I get skimped and and rationed on rice and beans, I almost always have to ask for more. The employees, as I had mentioned before, leave much to be desired. I hate to be demeaning, but one of the most important areas of these positions is having accurate LISTENING skills. Just because there's a line a mile long behind me because you aren't deployed correctly to your stations doesn't mean I should have hot salsa instead of mild and just "deal with it". Seriously though, I corrected them and they simply said "sorry bout that".... You mean, I can't have my bowl remade correctly to my liking? Oh okay, shows how I important my dollar is here. He also grabbed cheese instead of lettuce and sort of chuckled when I corrected him on that. The only reason for two stars is because it's chipotle and their food is good. Standard Chipotle fare. The service can be spotty at times, but is generally helpful and accomodating if you engage with them. Other yelpers have noted slow service, and though I have noted this at times, it is generally the exception and not the rule. read more

The best thing about Chilpolte is that everything is FRESH. They don't have a freezer or a microwave, 2 standard pieces of equipment in any fast food joint. This is a fresh food joint. They have a lot of choices for vegetarians too. All the food is prepared fresh daily. read more

First of all I normally like Chipotle very much. I used to eat there about three times a week after working out. Last time I went they gave me about a half scoop of meat and then I asked why they were so skimpy on the meat and the lady responded rudely that is 4 oz. but how does she know she didnt weigh it. So i had to get double meat just to get what they used to normally give. Ended up costing almost $10 for what i usually get for the normal price. I also tip every time but guess what, not this time. My tip basically went to the company instead of the employees that want to be rude and rip you off on the meat. Take care of your customers and most likely they will take care of you. Love Chipotle EVERYWHERE! Unfortunately I must echo the sentiments of others who say the portions are THE SMALLEST ever! Thought it was an off-day a couple of weeks ago, so gave it another try...I asked when fresh Saute would be coming & the line worker looked over & said, "Oh there's plenty." I told him that it was B-U-R-N-T! He looks at me, waves me off & says, "There's always a little Char." I replied, "CHAR YES...THIS IS BURNT...SO BURNT YOU CAN'T EVEN TELL WHAT IT IS. REALLY? So, how long til fresh saute is done?" He ignored me and walked away. Needless to say, They didn't get my money that day...nor will they again. And I pray the Manager reads these reviews. read more

The customer service at each restaurant you visit inevitably has an effect on your mood. The kind of customer service one gets can depend on the person taking care of your order. The man who started my burrito bowl was great and made me laugh but the lunch rush quickly changed the scene at this Chipotle. A very tiny girl at the end of their assembly line put what wasn't even half a cup of lettuce in the bowl. After asking for more they instead rushed me through and ignored my request. This girl also had to ask me twice if I wanted lettuce. Not wanting to deal with the looks from the line behind me I just paid and took my bowl with very little lettuce in it home. Mostly rice and less than half a cup of lettuce sure makes for $7.05 well spent.(sarcasm) I love Chipotle's naturally raised chicken and understand that they teach their employees to portion the meat which I understand but this very tiny portion of lettuce is just an employee problem. I think I will visit this restaurant more when it is not peak hours and stand my ground with skimpy portions. Overall everything else about this restaurant rocks and fast service. read more
