I absolutely loveeee chippers! We had our spring date dash here a few weeks ago where we rented out the whole venue and I can say nothing but amazing things from the night. The event planner Shauna was so easy to work with while planning and was so cheerful and helpful to work with the night of the event. The whole venue as a whole was so much fun. This place was Horrible!!!! The price was outrageous!! We were there today Saturday November 3rd 2018 The lady at the front told us we couldn't pay per game! They recently changed their prices. They charge 45 for an hour and 60 for an hour an a half. PLUS 4.99 shoe rental each person. We asked if that 1 hour 30 min. would allow us to play two games for 60.00 she said yes. We come to the 6th frame on our second game and the timer took over the screen and we couldn't finish our second game. We asked the lady what happened and if we could finish and she said no!! So we payed 60.00 for one game plus shoe rentals. Over 70.00 for 1 game of bowling. Staff were very rude and gave dishonest information. We would of went elsewhere if we would of been told in advanced that we couldn't get two games in an hour and a half. Not to mention There weren't people waiting for our lane. The bowling is fine it's just a normal bowling alley- but I had a bad experience here customer service wise...chicken was served raw, somehow my drink was charged to the card on our tab even though I also paid with my own card. The worst part was that we went specifically for a deal that started at 8 but because we came in at like, 7:56 the cashier wouldn't give us the deal. Wow, I have never experienced such terrible customer service in my life! This was our first time at Chipper lanes figure we'd try it out and use a Groupon. Could use a fun night out on a Friday night. As I sat waited on my friends to arrive I decide to have a beer at the bar. I was greeted by the staff and promptly offered service. I realized it was happy hour so I decided to have a cold one, but the staff "forgot" it was happy hour. The bartender seemed upset that she was reminded it was Happy hour. She kept arguing with a coworker as he reassured her Happy hour was still on. My friends arrived and they were promised a lane next to us. Given the lanes were open we thought -Great, no problem! Their lane was off so my friends went up and asked why it hadn't been turned on, it was broken..okay. Well, they placed them three lanes away from my husband and I. No problem we will make it work. Then, not even five minutes here comes a group and give them those "broken" lanes. You're kidding! What kind of lanes repair themselves?! Never saw someone come up and "fix" the broken lane. Wow, some fancy lanes these are if they fix on their own. We then ordered food and drinks. . . Our food arrived late and short 40 minutes later! Our beer was 20 minutes late! We argued with the staff about our food being short. We ordered 4 samplers got 1. The teens handling the register sent out their cook (not sure why). We argued and had no choice but to sit back and agree to disagree. Apparently they gave it to the wrong person but refused to make it up. The other two orders were combined into one plate because they did not have enough baskets. -What? Okay. Overall the place is great to bowl. It had great music and decent Happy hour prices when the Bartender doesn't "forget". The service is beyond terrible and needs a real manager. These kids have a serious attitude problem. You give them a Thanks (even when they're rude) and you get a cold shoulder with no response. The cook is just as rude. Never going back! read more

Yes this is an old bowling alley. Balls are old. The lanes are old. BUT it is inexpensive and we received great service from the staff.

I went here on a Saturday morning to bowl a few games by myself as exercise while my wife had to pop into work. They open at 9, and I was there around 9:30, and I was the only one. The staff was very friendly, and overall I enjoyed my experience. This place is a cross between your big funcenter-style alleys and a classic alley. It has pool and bowling only, but the vibe is a bit more funcenter than old skool alley, which I found pleasant. The returns and pinsetters are in pretty rough shape, I had to move to a different lane almost immediately due to the ball lift having trouble. I ended up bowling 5 games in a row - by the time I was wrapping up, several families had come in and started bowling, it was a good vibe overall. I'd definitely come back! They also have quite a good beer selection - with at least 2 New Belgium beers on tap, and three O'Dell beers! read more

This is the worst bowling alley I have ever been to. The lane approach was so sticky from not being cleaned that your shoes will stick to the floor. The ball return and bumpers worked periodically. This place is definitely not for people who want to be in a league. It's for the casual bowlers who don't want to spend $30 for two or three games, like me. Yes, things tend to break down (especially in lanes 1, 2 and 3 for some reason). But if you're just there to have fun with your friends or just for practice, this is the place to go! $3 shoe rental and $4 a game! $11 for two games is pretty reasonable. After 9 pm and it's $2 a game, and not at all busy. Even better! Don't bring your own ball though, the balls there are very scuffed and dented and you don't want that happening to your ball. The beers were reasonable but the mixed drinks were ridiculously overpriced. I'll just stick to a soda or the free water while I'm there. Most of the people there are nice but one time the ball return got jammed and the younger guy at the front yelled at us saying we all (about ten of us) owed $500 each and to get out our credit cards. Yea right! He later apologized, but talk about rude customer service! He still works there, somehow. This is the only place I go to bowl. Compared to the always busy AMF and Brunswick and the ridiculously overpriced Splitz, I'll take Chipper's any day. read more

One negative is that the staff had a lot of down time and the tables l, counters, etc. definitely needed a good wipe down. I got the groupon deal here for 2 games of laser tag, $7 gaming card, and $10 towards food. I took my boyfriend here for a fun date, the games were all the standards but fun. Laser tag was great but we were the only ones in there for a Wednesday afternoon (Wednesday is half off day though). We ordered some mixed drinks which really good, and played a round of bowing. The shoes were uncomfortable but what do you expect? The fries were pretty tasty too. Overall a good deal and will probably be back again. I expect it would be busier on weekends, but I kind of liked not having to wait. The staff there were really nice and friendly too. :) read more

Ever get tired of bowling and want the system to automatically score the next couple frames for you? Then this is your place! The staff are friendly, mostly college age, but the lanes are falling apart! We have bowled in a league there, only to witness hilarity like during the first frame the pin setter dumped 30+ pins onto the lane! If we weren't stuck there for the 3 games for the night and many weeks into the season, it'd be funny... but it gets old week after week. The worst was when the lanes actually chewed up balls - the shop on premises had to refinish something like 10 balls due to them getting chewed up (deep scratches/gouges on $200 balls) by some lanes! We have been promised by management that they are going to renovate this summer due to all the problems, but we're in the middle of July and no noticable improvement (if anything, it's worse!). We're hoping they fix the place up, but for now, we're looking to bowl at other places. Update 12/10 : Apparently things are still bad. A league friend bowled there the other day, and the lane they were bowling on broke. Apparently he went across the street, had a beer, a cigarette, came back, and the lanes STILL weren't working. Took well over an hour to repair, and they didn't move them to different lanes in the meantime. read more

Bowled at Chipper's with some friends every Sunday morning for about two months. We constantly had problems with the lanes not working correctly. Scores weren't recorded correctly, balls took forever to be returned (and only after several other balls were played to knock them loose), pins would reset in the middle of a players turn, etc, etc. Just dealing with these issues usually ate up about 1/3 of our entire bowling time. In addition, the prices were outrageous and oddly calculated. We had to pay PER PERSON for an hour of bowling. So, if there were 4 of us that showed up that day, an hour of bowling was around $40. If just 2 of us showed up that day, then an hour of bowling was around $25. An hour of bowling on a single lane should just be a flat price no matter how many people you have in your group. When we asked about splitting up our group up into 2 separate lanes so that at least each player could get more time to bowl, we were told "no, we can't do that because we don't have enough lanes" even though our group normally bowled at about 11:00 am when the entire place was completely empty. The whole bowling alley was just terrrrrrible. After discovering Brunswick Zone not too far away, we won't be going back to Chipper's ever again. read more

I am a huge fan of this place!! We found it when we were running around town and gave it a shot!! Very cheap in comparison to the other big box versions! The staff is super friendly!!! We noticed that they have the SUPER NACHOS that feed 6 people... lol that would be intense! We stopped in after buying a groupon for a Sunday night family bowling night. There was confusion with the groupon from the start. We paid an additional $12 to get the pavkage we wanted. I wish I hadn't stopped by for half off day at Chippers. Even with the discounted prices it wasn't worth the $60 I spent today. The air conditioning and music were broken in the Laser Tag room so not only was it hotter than heck inside but it was quiet. We were offered no apologies. We ordered food and drink that took 45 minutes to come out. The teenager that served us snapped at us when we tried to tell him what we were still missing. Some of the arcade games weren't working and my son's prize he spent 95 tickets on fell apart twice. They replaced it once but the second time the teenager helping me said we couldn't have anything else. I had to talk to a supervisor who told me she could get fired if the "count was off" at the end of the day. I try and patronize local businesses but not when I can't be shown common courtesy. This place is conveniently located about a block away from my boyfriend's apartment. We walked over for date night on a Friday and it was completely dead here. The prices were pretty standard fare for bowling. The one thing that I really didn't like was the smell. There was a sour, icky, rotten smell that I was so glad to leave behind once we left. If there's nothing else to do on a Friday night in Broomfield and you've got about $25 to blow, this is a solid option. read more

There were teenagers running all around, no one knew what lane courtesy was and dumb teenagers were trying to use my personal bowling ball. None of the staff was stopping the high school madness. We went in again to support our friends who bowl on a league. Looks like some staff changes have been made. Some good, some not so good. Glad to know the bald bartender Matt is gone, he was aggressive and rude. We were very happy to see the bartender Maria is still there, she is quick, gives great service with a friendly smile and remembers our drinks and names after the first order. We missed Roman but really like the new kid Chris at the counter, he hustles and is nice even helped us with the pool table problem. We briefly met the new manager Tom, he is ok not too friendly and our friends think he is more interested in making money then the people in the league, but mostly they complained about his wife bossing people around and going behind the counter -leaning and hawk eying everyone. ? Strange, we thought she WAS the manager or an employee and asked her a question and she said she is the wife of the manager? What ever Chippers,we WANT to like your place and do when you have FUN people who are friendly and helpful working there. fun people make it easier to overlook the broken lanes and bad ball return that eats up your ball. This place is a lot of fun! They have plenty of bowling lanes, a bar, a small arcade, and laser tag. We didn't try the laser tag this time, but I'd definitely like to go back and check it out. Bowling was fun. Although we had to move lanes a few times because something kept malfunctioning in the back. The prices were pretty steep. We went on a Saturday night. I was disappointed that they didn't do the late night bowling thing where the lights are dimmed and music is played. That would've made it more fun and maybe even worth the price. Here's the deal, we really like Chippers. I gave it two stars because they introduced a new pricing plan and it's absurd. It's almost $50 to bowl- Fri 5pm to Sun 4pm (plus holidays) $49.95 per 90 min lane rental I mean, $50??!! That's insane. and 90 minutes really isn't that long if you want to have a few beers. So you might spend $100 just for a few hours. $20 for 90 minutes might be more reasonable. So they are a fun place to go but I have seen many people walk out the door complaining about the price. Big mistake on their part. We will, unfortunately, be avoiding, and we love to roll. read more

This particular bowling place totally took us back in time to the 70's and 80's because of the cheesy arcade games, music, food, and old school drinks. I took my hubby here and he always loved coming to Chippers. This can make a good date night idea and it's actually really romantic too. The walls are painted with cute little cartoon characters and they have the most outdated prize wall center which made it feel more vintage. I like it!!! They sold only light bulb LED lights, Chippers plushies, bottle caps, bouncy balls, dolls, and more. They sold the good ol' school prizes and nothing too modern. The music jammed nothing but 70's and 80's artists and occasionally it spun out some modern day hiphop and R&B. I had a good game of competitive bowling with my guy and also noticed Broomfield is typically a friendly part of Denver, because every other bowler in the other lanes made the experience a lot of fun too. The service was the only lack of the five star because none of the workers looked like they were happy to assist anyone. They were monotone about everything and were a tiny bit snappy when we asked to have our own lane. My friends from high school (a loooooong time ago) were having a reunion of sorts in Boulder, and we came here to play laser tag. It was awesome! The laser tag arena is huge and well designed. It was perfect for the 6 of us to play 3 on 3. The service was a little spotty, and they didn't know how much you got for shooting the base vs shooting other players, etc, but we figured out with some googling and following the scoreboard when some little kids played. You get 50 points for shooting another player, 100 for shooting the base, and 2000 for destroying the base. Listen to them when they say don't run though. Worst experience I have ever had at a bowling alley. The seats on the lanes would practically hit the floor the second you say on them. Our lane broke down about 6 times during our hour. Then it shut down in the middle of our last frame. We spent half of the hour we paid for waiting for them to fix the lane. Then they put about 12 people on the land next to us. All of them on one lane. It was ridiculous. There were so many empty lanes where none was playing and where it wouldn't have crowded other people. read more

They have rude workers, and the bowling allies are very worn down, if you own your own ball I would leave it at home because you will leave the bowling ally with a chipped up ball that will need refurbishing. I love bowling and the price that they offer. I bowl here every month and every time there is something wrong. It is very important to be nice to your customers since they are the ones that pay your bills. On Friday night of January 29th, I walked up to the counter and waited to get a game going on. I waited and waited but no employee there seemed to want to help me despite the fact that two young men who worked there both made eye-contact with me. Finally an older employee walks behind the counter and without greeting me, says "what" in a distinct attitude. Forgetting that moment, I asked how long the wait was and she quickly responds "we're full". :( read more
