Love their Pastor Fries and Horchata I add some of their pickled onions and a bit of lemon. Worth a 30min drive for me. Usually stop by when I'm in the neighborhood at night. Sometimes I'll still drive out, just for the food.

So lucky to have this as our neighborhood taco truck. We always go for the carnitas tacos or carnitas burrito. The truck looks basic, but it never disappoints. There's also a few parking spots at the nearby Arco since street parking is usually a mess. Highly recommend if you're craving a quick and classic Mexican fix.

I cannot believe how amazing this is! Def my all time FAV taco truck be sure to be knowledgeable of light Spanish or else the workers might not understand you! They're overall excellent and the horchata is GAS

Real al pastor is carved straight off a spit. If you've ever been to Tacos Leo or Tacos Tamix you've seen it done right. Chiquis Tacos does it this way as well and just after they carve it off into your taco or burrito they also add a piece of pineapple to it! YUM. The juices of the pineapple give the meat a hint of sweetness as it cooks up on the spit. Oftentimes, you'll find people preparing al pastor on a griddle, but that's not the way its done! Tacos Tamix was one of the first trucks to come to LA and do it correctly and now we have three great trucks doing it the same way. This place is quite elaborate for being a little taco truck. They set up tents and tables along with a VERY extensive salsa bar out front with tons of various salsas, guac, sauteed onions, cilantro, radishes, cucumbers, cilantro, carrots/jalapenos and some very spicy sauteed chiles. I've tried the lengua, buche, and al pastor here. All very delicious. Tacos are about 1.25 each with is so good for what you are getting. Their service is top notch esp for just being a taco truck. They set up at the Melrose car wash everyday after 6:30pm to cater to the after bar crowds. So delicious! You must give it a try and its located in a much more convenient area than Tamix and Leos plus its open DAILY!

These were truly the epitome of street tacos and absolutely nothing about the vibe, the service, and the FOOD, disappointed. Immediately upon arrival, I noticed the long line of people and said to myself, either this place is really good or really slow. It took me longer to decide what I wanted to try than what it took for the line to move and for it to be my turn to order. So yea, these folks are FAST and very courteous as well. They have real Al Pastor on the trompo (the spit) so of course I ordered pastor tacos and a pastor mulita. I also ordered a few SUADERO tacos which you don't find just anywhere. I am still raving about the amount of meat and flavor of the food here, it's insanely delicious. Once you get your food you make your way down to the end of the taco stand where you are met with an amazing array of fresh taco fixings and salsas. The pink creamy-habanero was the best and the green/red salsas followed right behind. I can't wait to go back to this place. It's mind blowing how a stand on the side of the road puts out better quality food than a brick/mortar taco shop..but these guys know exactly what they are doing and it was a pleasure to try their food. 20 out of 10 for this place.

I do like how they grill their meat though and they use the tortillas to scoop up the meat on the grill. Thought the al pastor was a bit salty and the cheese did not add much flavor to it, but that's probably a good thing considering the saltiness of the meat. Also, make sure you ask them for pineapples since they did not include it until we asked. They do have them sliced up in a container by the meats. Ambience is very casual and it's a stand while eating type of situation. Service was quick.

The food cart specializes in blue corn quesadillas. The food cart has been around for 20 years and is now run by Alejandra's daughter. [Parking]: Metered street parking is available or just park at LADOT Lot 643. [Atmosphere]: Takeout only and our party ended up eating the quesadilla in my car. [Ordering]: One of the ladies took my order and another lady did the grilling. Once the quesadillas are ready, customers can add various condiments like cactus, mild salsa, red salsa, and cilantro. The cart is quite popular and our party had to wait approximately 15 minutes on Sunday at 6:15 PM. All quesadillas are cooked to order and the lady manually pressed every blue corn tortilla by hand. [Menu]: The cart offers chicken, pork, chorizo, squash blossoms (flor de calabaza), chicharrón, potato, and huitlacoche (corn smut, or the "Mexican truffle"). Customers can mix and match fillings like chorizo and potato. *** Squash Blossom Quesadilla ($8): The order came with an extra piece of skirt steak. This quesadilla tasted much better than I had expected and it was actually quite delicious. I was a big fan of the mild green salsa and it definitely enhanced the overall flavor. *** It was an unexpected street food find and I can actually see myself revisiting this food cart and try different quesadilla options whenever I am in the Echo Park area.

The beans were flavorful, the cheese was just right, and the whole thing had that simple, comforting deliciousness that makes a great bean and cheese burrito so special. Being from Yuma, Arizona, it immediately reminded me of the bean and cheese burritos from Chile Pepper and Mr. G's, which is about as high a compliment as I can give. I also tried the shredded beef folded tacos. They were good and I enjoyed them, but they didn't quite reach that extra-special level for me. I'm still searching for a folded shredded beef taco that can match or beat Tito's Tacos, and while Al & Bea's makes a solid one, Tito's still holds the crown in that category for me. The red salsa was excellent and went great with everything I ordered. It added just the right amount of flavor and made an already very good meal even better. I made it a combo and also ordered the hot lemon pepper wings. Wasn't mad about my food. It kept my tastebuds occupied for the England v France bronze game. The portions, for what I paid...I'll accept. The cheesesteak landscape in LA is still a small neighborhood. You got the mall chain, the imported-from-Philly chain (my fave), and the indie complex, where Jawny's and a handful of other developing entities reside. LA loves a good hot, chopped sandwich and businesses will continue to showcase their take on the east coast institution. Even fast service megas, like Jack in the Crack and Arby's, are making sure they can ride the cheesesteak wave. Did Jawny's keep up with my favorite? Not so much. Not with the classic. I'm not even sure what was so proprietary about the house made Wiz. And the overall value made the original steak feel like more of a hyped, boutique version of the cheesteak. It just wasn't substance-forward. But this restaurant will technically be more accessible than the carwash pop-up was, and that counts in my hemisphere. To be honest, I see myself ordering their wings more often, as a closer alternative to Wingstop. Ultimately, Jawny's is middle of the road for me. Seems it'll be passible food that I can stand to pay for some of the time. But congratulations on a place to call your own, y'all! That much, for sure, deserves a salute.
