I was driving to work on Friday, and noticed my check engine light was blinking. So I called Choe's right away and asked if I can take my car in the next morning. I was glad that I didn't have to make an appt only to be told that the next available slot will not be until 2 weeks (eg. VW service dept). Choe's took care of my car right away the following morning. It turned out that it was way overdue for a major tune up! They didn't charge me for the diagnostic exam, and there are no hidden or added charges, which would've probably cost me an arm and a leg at other repair shops. This is my very first yelp review! I chose Choe's Auto because of the other 5 star reviews. I give them 5 stars as well. They were quick and very reasonable. I recommend them highly! I was concerned about finding a good dependable honest car repair shop. Our engine light was on and it was making an awful screech when started. They put it on the computer at no charge and already knew what the screech was. They called with a price for both repairs, $350.00. They fixed both problems in a few hours. Very nice people. I've had several positive experiences with Choe's and Steve. I've been taking my car (Saturn) to him for at least 5 years now. Oil changes, regular maintenance needs, etc. I've had a few odd issues that he was able to diagnose and fix at a fair price or on some occasions no charge at all if it was ultra easy and quick. He can be quick and short with explain actions or answers, but I TRUST he and his staff with my car repair and upkeep needs. There was once when I was annoyed because he didn't have something simple to do an oil change. If I bought it (air filter, oil filter, something) he'd be able to do it, but I ended up going elsewhere that day. I've since returned. I trust Steve more than some other experiences at chain oil change stops and repair shops. read more

Went In today to fix my 2016 Acura RDX oil pan. Upon arrival I was greeted and the gentleman listened to my explanation of what I need done. Then he said my car shouldn't have an oil leak b/c it's not that old of a car. With out any hesitation he ask if he can left my car to see what has happened. After his inspection he asked if I had done an oil change and I said yes I have 5 days ago at the dealership and I always do oil change there since I bought the car. He explained to me how the mechanic at the dealership over tighten the oil pan bold and as a result they striped it and now there is a oil leak. He suggested to talk to the management at the dealership than pay him to fix the oil pan. Talk about honestly!!!!!!!! Choe's is hands down the best mechanic I've ever used! I came across him about 11 years ago and he is honest, thorough, quick, and reasonably priced. I took my car in for an oil change somewhere else one day, and it turned out my car needed a lot of work. The other place quoted me at $2600. I took it to Choe's right after at about 2:30pm. He examined everything himself and did all the work I needed for $950 and had the car ready for pickup by 5:30! And the work he did was QUALITY! Looking on Yelp I avoided the 5 star rated auto repair places because it is literally impossible to make everyone happy so I opened up the first 4.5 star place I saw which was Choe's. Called in, talked to Steve and he gave me a price quote for the labor which I felt was very reasonable. Affordable, knowledgeable, great work and honest!....I had a repair estimate for ~$2600 from another mechanic...it's an older Toyota mini van but still runs well. I took it to Choe's for a second opinion. He suggested I didn't need more than half of the repairs the previous mechanic suggested. He explained why in detail and I proceeded to give him my business. Update on Choes...today I had a grinding noise coming from my rear end of my car. I took it to Choes and he did an inspection of the brakes and rotors and said what I knew, that the rear rotors and brakes needed replaced. He quoted me exactly what he had quoted me about 8 months ago when I was curious about replacing them anyway since they were warped.....the 2 quotes were exactly the same...he said he needed the car for a few hours and I said go for it and left.....I had just gotten comfortable at home 90 minutes later when he called and said my car was ready...I was floored....when I went back to get my car I was overjoyed...I am in a pickle this week and needed to drive as much as I could for Lyft and he got me back on the road in record time.
