Came here for Mother's Day with family, even though my food was ok I will not be back. My mom ordered corn beef hash and eggs. Hers was burnt and hard. We all ordered coffee and they only brought flavored creamer. When we asked for half and half she gave us 4 there was 3 of us drinking coffee. The portions are very large but that doesn't make a difference if you don't like what you're eating. We were seated in a booth which looked like it had not been cleaned since they've been open. My sister-in-law took out a antiseptic wipe to clean it with one wipe it was black. The cases for the fresh baked goods was very disgusting as well. We stood there for 10 minutes and no one approached us either. Cleanliness is such a disappointment since it's the easiest task in a restaurant. The waitress didn't seem to care about my mothers dish even though she mentioned it when it came out. It should've never left the kitchen the way it looked. Sad because they have real potential being at the entrance to the mall. I hate to leave bad reviews but they really missed the mark when it comes to being clean. We got our Thanksgiving food from here and it was tremendous. Turkey was moist and perfect temperature. Great color, excellent seasoning. Sides were special as well. Green beans were a super pleasant side. Very generous with their potatoes and sweet potatoes. Pies were very good as well. We've eaten here often and are never disappointed. Great place! read more

Menu is extensive. Whether you prefer your breakfast sweet, Savory, or something in between, there are dishes to accommodate what you were looking for. Proportions of both breakfasts we ordered were more that generous. Strawberry stuffed french toast was the winner that morning. The cream cheese gave a bit of sour to help balance out all the sweet. The babkah crumble french toast is much like a bananas foster french toast. It is eat a bag of Halloween candy sweet. I wish there had been something to cut the sweetness. In small amounts it is quite enjoyable. As a whole dish, it was a lot. I am interested in trying some of their savory dishes. From the deli, we picked up a baker's dozen of bagels to take home. Everything bagels were covered in seasoning. Poppy seeds are generously Incorporated throughout the bagel. Blueberry bagels had lots of blueberries. Pumpernickel bagels had a strong pumpernickels flavor with a nice chew. All bagels refreshed in the toaster oven. Black and white cookies are just as graciously sized as their breakfasts. read more

This is our absolute go to for comfort food. The chicken soup is the best I've had. In this visit I had the Reuben classic with pastrami and it was AMAZING!!! The complex flavors made this an awesome meal. I shamelessly ate it all and was full for 12 hours. Literally. The potato salad is excellent and even the slaw is good, and I typically hate slaw. The service and management are efficient and pleasant and we've seen the same staff for years. It's quite stable. I've never had a bad meal or take out here ever. He told me to leave bc he accused my son of pushing my daughters stroller in to the way of people which was actually not true. Chompie's is utterly fantastic! I used to frequent the original 32nd St. and Greenway Rd. all the time when I used to live in AZ. This was my first trip to the Arrowhead location (on a visit to AZ), and I was very impressed! They were able to accommodate our group of 8 on very short notice, and very quickly accommodated us when our party turned out to be 10 people on the spot, all very happily and cheerfully. Their food is unparalleled. Portion sizes are ENORMOUS, and the flavors and quality are outstanding. You really can't go wrong with anything you get (except for the corned beef hash, which was nowhere near as good as it used to be), because everything is outstanding. I was particularly blown away by the smoked salmon (two types of salmon on a fresh bagel). BE SURE TO VISIT THEIR BAKERY! Their bagels, black and whites, rye bread, etc. are just about as perfect as perfect gets. There are not many things I miss about AZ, but Chompie's is definitely one of them. Corned beef Benedict was below average. The hollandaise was runny and flat. The corned beef was mushy, and the potatoes were just okay. Girlfriend did much better. She got the French omelette and one of the best bagels I've had in years. That everything bagel with the veggie cream cheese was spot on. Bagel was perfect and the veggie cream cheese was garlicky and delicious. We got a to go matzo ball soup on the recommendation of others. I love a stacked half sandwich of steamed pastrami (lean but juicy), another ordered 1/2 pastrami on a Challa Roll (TIP half Challa is a whole sandwich but priced at a half) Wife had a Monte Christo. Excellent service but I'm tired of salt and pepper and condiments served in packets. Due to pandemic I'm sure. Black and White cookies (Yelp offer) were ok. Vets get 20% off their order. This location is tucked inside Arrowhead Mall in Peoria and offers both sit-down dining and a order and go style counter, where they have a host of pastries, baked goods, bagels, and breads that you can order. We tend to elect to sit down and enjoy a meal here. We've been here several times and have always left full and pleased with the food and service received. I typically order the Breakfast Bagel Skins, which have eggs, bacon, green onions, potatoes, and cheese in open-faced bagels. The bagels are hallowed out to mimic a potato skin. However, even though they're hallowed out, they're still super filling, and I can usually only eat half of the entree. It also comes with a nice little fruit cup. Overall, I like this Chompie's location a lot and am always pleased with the food and service received. I also like having an excuse to pop into the mall after we visit for breakfast or lunch! read more

They more than took care of my previous visit. It's really rare to find a company that goes above and beyond and I was very much impressed. So glad I can continue to enjoy my favorite bagels in the Valley. Now let me tell you how great the food was on my most recent trip. I always order a little of everything and per the usual it was all delicious. The people working this time around were hustling. It was a Sunday and they were busy but very attentive. They had the black and white cookies in stock. Also bought my usual bagel box and an oatmeal raisin cookie. The sweet and sour cabbage was great. The Monte Cristo was perfection. Pastrami and corned beef were stacked high on fresh rye. Matzo ball soup was like pure comfort food. Every single person enjoyed their meal. Just wanted to give everyone warning about the incredibly rude manager I just dealt with. Placed an order online for the Arrowhead mall location on 5/7 which directs you to order through Toast. Order was missing the black and white cookie. Called to let them know and the server advised she had wrote on the receipt that they were out of Black and whites. Which isn't an issue except for the fact that they claimed they could not refund my money for that one item and directed me back to DoorDash (mind you I ordered through Toast). Not sure what was happening this morning at Chompies at Cactus and 32nd St. My husband went in to buy bagels. The counter person was helping a customer who had an issue with her order. Chompies never disappoints. Hubby and I went out ther for brunch and had some tasty benedict and granola pancakes. Leave it to me to make something healthy, into unhealthy with ton of syrup. But it was truly great, to include the young man who was in training being a server. He was doing an excellent job and was super polite! Side note to that, I feel like our humanity is losing their kindness. A couple sat next to us, and they were jerks from the start. Ordering food and making ton of changes to their dishes. Sure, I get it we have our different taste buds but it got worse as their food came out. From, " the potatoes aren't crispy enough", to other bull requests. If you are going to be so picky, eat at home and don't be a shitty a$$ person to your waiters. They even had a rude comment about his training. Great restaurant. One of the only places I know of where you can get a stacked pastrami. No little wimpy sandwich. The "Mile High" is loaded with hot pastrami just like you would get in Manhattan. I get mine on an onion roll with Swiss and nothing else. I really enjoy the idea of a pickle boat, but the pickles lack flavor. I like the variety but wish they were the zesty pickles I enjoy. Prices are pretty high but it's hard to find this good NY deli food anywhere else in the valley. Oh yeah and the matzah ball soup is amazing. 9/10 would recommend. read more

This is a legit Jewish deli. Being in half Jewish and from Brooklyn... i think I'm a pretty good judge of tuna sandwich. Definitely one of the best since leaving NY Today i tried their chicken tuna sandwich, Not as great we the tuna and I wish their fries were more deli like ... they are just okay. UNBELIEVABLE LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE - a friend and I rode our bikes 33 miles and ended up at Chompies (Glendale / Arrowhead Mall) at 9:30AM, it was a very cold morning (43 degrees). We walked into Chompies from the patio door and proceeded to the bakery counter and ordered 2 bagels, toasted with creme cheese from the bakery. When he received our order we were told we could not eat at a table inside where it was warm (18 tables were unused) and that because we ordered food from the bakery we must eat OUTSIDE in the 43 degree temperature. Considering we ordered our bagels and drinks from Chompies you would expect we would be able to eat at one of he 18 empty tables... we were told we must leave? Coming from columbus ohio it was hard to find a great Reuben sandwich but found a great favorite here in AZ. Been here in Arizona for 10 years and Chompies was the go too and I recommended to all of my friends. Something has changed and the sandwich was way more expensive and nowhere near their older standards. This will be my last $22.00 sandwich from there. We had lunch here today and I got grandpa Ruby's sandwich and it was delicious pastrami sauerkraut on rye I asked them to hold the thousand Island dressing I don't like it. And boy was it good. The staff there were very nice I'd like to go back and try a few other things. We did try the appetizer cabbage roll. I didn't care for it. To be fair I've never had that dish before so maybe I just don't like it. Looking forward to trying some of their cannolis on my next trip read more

I give this one star because I can't figure how to give less. I went in tonight for a Corned beef/ pastrami sandwich with a kingship on the side. After twenty minutes the manager brought out my food, it took so long because the kitchen was backed up, only 13 patrons in the place. The bread was old, and stale. The kingship had been deep fried to heat it up. You never derp fry a kingship, it makes the crust so hard you can't bite it. I asked both the server to feel the bread, the both said it was stale. I got a chicken wrap, the chicken was dry and no flavor at all as well the hamburger that we ordered. The only thing we like was the fries, they had great seasoning and they were fresh . I've been told to try it once again but these time their bakery like the bagels which wouldn't disappoint me.
