Came here on New Year's Eve with a group, and they were so considerate to allow an addition to our table! I got a steak which was the best steak I've had in all of door county - the house butters are to die for!

    Delicious halibut!

Fresh hot popovers to start were a highlight and loved the sweet butter. Lobster bisque and clam chowder were delicious. Nice that a soup or salad was included with an entree. Duck and halibut were outstanding. Ribeyes were okay but bit fatty. Good butters with steak. Ambiance was fine . Trendy modern. Outdoor seating available and families with kids tended to be outside. Service was good and not intrusive.

The first impression of chop is lovely. Was warmly greeted, and shown to our table.we had made a reservation. Service started off great. We ordered cocktails before dinner and their dirty martini was very good. We ordered an appetizer which was Barada bruschetta that was fantastic! Moving on, we ordered our dinners. I had a steak and my husband had I believe, some sort of short ribs and a wine sauce? I wish I could remember exactly what it was. It was a little wine forward. He said it was OK wasn't great. This is where things kind of go sideways. I had a coupon from the restaurant for a free glass of wine. I showed our server the coupon and said oh I have this. Could I get a free glass of wine? And he said I don't know how to do that. And walked away. I had a second server come over and I said do you know how to use this coupon for a free glass of wine? She said no I don't really understand how to do that. Not once did either one of them say let me get the manager let me look into it for you. I don't know why establishment would send you a coupon to use for your dinner and then not honor it. Also, our server never asked if we wanted another glass of wine, another cocktail, anything else for dinner? We were just left alone until the bill came. They also gave me a chipped water glass. I don't understand how they couldn't see a huge chip missing from the glass with a crack in it. I'm just glad I didn't cut my lip. The ambience is beautiful. But the service was completely lacking. The food was just OK. If somebody would've at least tried to honor my coupon, or asked if we wanted anything else with our dinner, they could've upsold us. Sadly, no effort was made on their part. We were never even asked if we wanted dessert. In the end, I think there are too many wonderful restaurants that I would give my business to next time.

This place is way overrated. We sat upstairs on the outside patio. I ordered the filet and my husband ordered a ribeye. It had absolutely NO FLAVOR. For 3 drinks and 2 steaks it was over $200. Totally not worth it.

Pork chop with apple slices over smashed potatoes. Was excellent!

The food here is always outstanding! The carrot cake for desert is a must every time. This evening our waitress, Bree, was exceptional and the standard all should strive to meet Always a favorite of ours.

Dress up and make reservations. Although we saw plenty of people casual dressed and waiting at 4:55 for opening to get in. We make reservations for 5 on a Friday night and most of us had the early bird menu with salad, main course and dessert. It was about $32. I got the crab cakes. Chop salad and carrot cake. Okay, all delish. But oh my gosh! That carrot cake!!! Wow! Two old fashioneds- both super yummy! Cool atmosphere. Friendly waitstaff. They add gratuity on bill so if you had too much to drink. Don't double tip! Great location in sister bay. Picturesque! Loved it all! TY

While staying at the Dörr, we decided to enjoy dinner at CHOP's rooftop on a warm fall evening. We had a drink at bustling the bar while we waited for our table. When seated, our server was attentive & took our order promptly. I decided on the filet & added mushrooms. Our meal included complimentary popovers & soup. The popovers were, albeit a bit over baked a lovely start & went well with the potato soup. My filet was cooked to requested medium rare. Overall, a good meal but with very small portions for the price. I'd come back again & have a drink & an appetizer in the future!

    Chicken schnitzel

I know it's a steak place, but the chicken schnitzel was so very good. Took me right back to Munich and the Oktoberfest Schnitzel. Service was exceptional as well. Perfect evening.

Nice, clean and friendly service. As for the food, it was ok. For a higher price point restaurant in the area that specializes in steaks I expect them to know what temperature medium rare should be. My steak came out medium well instead, way over cooked and when I told the waitress she just asked if it was "good enough" for me to eat. I wanted to eat with my wife when her food came out, not wait for another "had I pushed for it". Again, nice, clean, friendly, but the steak was a let down.

Good food, nice decor, solid choice for dinner in Door County. Would be a bit better if they improved and expanded the wine list.

We loved hearing the history behind the fish boil and watching it come to life at the Old Post Office Restaurant! The dinner and experience was very reasonably priced at $30 per person and they offer options of fried chicken or ribs for those that don't care for fish. I'm (personally) not a big fish lover but I had to at least try it and it wasn't too bad! Dinner is also served with 3 different types of bread and a slice of delicious cherry pie! (Cherries are grown all over the peninsula). We sat outside on the front porch and watched the sun slowly set and the sky fill up with brilliant colors as we finished our dinner. I left with both my belly and heart as full as possible! We enjoyed the restaurant so much that I wanted to stop by on our way out of town, the last day, and try out their breakfast menu. I splurged and ordered the fresh cherry pancakes with a side of one egg and bacon. I planned to just eat half of my pancakes but I almost devoured them completely! My mouth is watering - several days later - as I am thinking about them and writing this review. I highly recommend the Old Post Office if you are in the area. Unfortunately you have to call the restaurant to make reservations but it's definitely worth the little bit of extra effort.

The staff was warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in. We ordered three dishes: the Norwegian herb-encrusted salmon over grilled root vegetables and quinoa, a New Orleans pasta with chicken, and a pistachio chicken open sandwich. Each one delivered. The salmon dish stood out for its char on the root vegetables and the quinoa, which had real texture and flavor. The dressing brought everything together in a way that felt considered, not just functional. The pistachio chicken sandwich was the sleeper hit. The chicken itself was exceptional, and it came paired with kettle chips that were better than any side chips have a right to be. The view of the water made the whole meal feel unhurried and easy, the kind of setting that makes food taste even better. Great food, attentive service, and a view that earns its mention. A complete experience.

I ordered the Veggie Wrap and my wife had then Asparagus Quesadilla. The restaurant wasn't too crowded and the food showed up pretty quickly. Mu Veggie Wrap came wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla and was full of fresh veggies mixed greens, artichokes, red onion, tomato, shiitake, crimini, & oyster, red bell peppers, broccoli with fresh guacamole & creamy dill dressing. The guacamole and dill dressing gave it a really nice flavor. My wife was happy with her Asparagus Quesadilla, it was full of flame roasted peppers, onions, tomatoes, asparagus, corn, black beans, wild rice, farmers cheese & spinach. It came with salsa & sour cream and she add guacamole. The server was very polite and service was quick. The restaurant sits on the shores of Ephraim harbor, perfect location for a meal or drinks.
