We started with the edamame which were sautéed in a teriyaki Sriracha sauce that was a little bit sweet, a little bit spicy, but all around extremely flavorful. My entree was the parmesan crusted whitefish. The fish was locally caught, fresh, flaky and perfectly cooked. The parmesan crust was tasty and did not overpower the delicate flavor of the fish. Came here for a weekday dinner during the summer season with a reservation and we were seated promptly on the enclosed patio. I had their old fashioned and it was tasty. Not a Wisconsin old fashioned but a nice drink. We started with the shrimp tempura and it was a nice app, with 5 large shrimp. The breading was a little more than I'd normally like but it was crunchy and the shrimp were good. I had the Wisconsin whitefish Parmesan as my main and it was a tasty dish with a side of rice and small salad on the plate. Service was timely throughout. Still enjoying our visits to Lure. This trip was on a busy Thursday evening. We sat near the kitchen for the first time, and it was a bit more lively, but just as good as being in the porch. We both got the Crab Crusted Halibut. Excellent fish and cooked pretty well. A bit overdone in the middle, but a big, meaty piece of fish. The crab crust and lemon sauce was outstanding. We shared Key Lime pie and had a couple of drinks that were expertly prepared. The Key Lime was very good. Service was amazing from Bahar was good as we've ever had. Recently revisited Lure for the second time and loved it just as much as the first! With a dimly lit, modern vibe Lure is a perfect romantic night out in Sister Bay. While we ate inside due to weather, the patio looks very nice with fun string lighting and is hidden away from the Main Street. Everything we've had here is delicious especially the fish of course. Door county does not have plentiful sushi options but the sushi here is very good! This time around we enjoyed their special early dining menu which is $30 for an appetizer main course and dessert- such a good deal! We love Lure for a date night out in Door County. read more

Lure is laid back, yet upscale sea themed casual dining in downtown Sister Bay. (Appears to be the same owners as Chop down the street.) Influences from Japanese cuisine (sushi rolls, teriyaki salmon, tempura shrimp), Hawaii (tuna poke), as well as right at home in the Great Lakes region (the Wisconsin Fish Fry, walleye). Plus a really unique addition with the crab nachos. The chips were not your typical tortilla chips, but uniquely hand fried with almost a pork rind texture. Great cocktails and mocktails (I recommend the blueberry lemon drop). My husband got the black cod and it was amazing! This is the third time in a year I have seen black cod on a menu. The last two times were in Oahu and Miami, so the owners/chefs are on top of what's on trend. The decor with the giant fishing lures is great. Happy to have gotten reeled in again with this whimsical dining option. read more

Beautiful restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoors you can have a dog with you. Food was excelkent. The four of us had wonderful meals including tuna roll for appetizer. The overall favorites were the Spicy Tuna Roll, Crab Nachos, & Calamari. The portion sizes varied with each dish but everything came at a very fair price. My husband and I ate at Lure in November of 2025 and the experience was nothing but great. Our server was friendly, prompt and had excellent recommendations. Our favorite thing was the crab nachos but I also really enjoyed the spicy tuna sushi roll! We've been here a few times but this recent time left a little to be desired. I know they've had a difficult time with getting summer help but those that are there seemed a little short or rude in how they responded. We were 5 minutes late arriving for our reservation because we could not find parking around there. When we arrived they told us they gave our table away. Again 5 minutes late. Really? When we asked why they said you were late and now we had to wait another 20 minutes. No grace period at all. Not like we were 30 minutes late. But we stayed. We ate here on Mother's Day and were very pleased! The food was outstanding! I had the lobster bisque which was filled with lobster chunks. I then ordered the seafood pasta which was delicious as well. Filled with shrimp and scallops. My wife ordered the salmon and thought it was done perfectly. This is completely service related review! We sat down and no one even approached us for at least 15 min. I get it! The world is short staffed but at least show up and recognize us. We ordered drinks and they didn't show up until after we placed our food order so why bother ordering more drinks since they wouldn't show up until after we eat. We started with the Spicy Tuna roll and it was OK but the rice was dry and the roll fell apart very easily. I was headed for the Lobster Risotto but they were out so I had the Seafood Pasta. Had an excellent experience recently at Lure. We ordered steaks (fillet and 12 oz NY Strip) both with salads and mashed potatoes. We were very fortunate to get a reservation with about one hour's notice. Sister Bay in the summer is very crowded and reservations are hard to get. Some restaurants are only open three days a week, so getting a table can be a scramble. The staff offered us an outside table (we declined b/c of t-storms forecasted; turns out it was wrong) so they found a quiet table in the back. This is a polished restaurant that is in like-new condition; a special-occasion type of place. But casual attire is absolutely fine. We dressed up a little, but plenty of people wore t-shirts and/or shorts. We both had excellent whitefish, done perfectly: almandine and parm-crusted. My blueberry lemon drop drink was a bit strong for me, so didn't finish. Prosecco for my spouse was served from a half-split, so you really can get a glass of prosecco that has been opened at your table. The ranch-y house salad was perfect to my tastes, but those who prefer only a little dressing could order on-the-side. Tart cherry pie was way more nuanced than the usual; and it seemed home made. Tip: strongly consider the 'early dining' dinner (a misnomer, since we were possibly the last couple seated for the night; we closed the place). You get a full entree, a salad and dessert for less money than a single entree. However, the parm-encrusted whitefish wasn't listed, so I got it a la carte, for more than the combined almandine whitefish, salad and pie. Also, parking will most likely require driving on one of the side streets so arrive a bit early. This is a popular place. Update: I had some of my spouse's whitefish almandine. While it was good, it didn't hold a candle to the parm-encrusted whitefish. I recommend the latter. Even though it is billed as having Cajun seasoning, the lemon cream sauce makes the parm whitefish what it is. read more

We went to Lure to celebrate my birthday and I'm very glad we chose here! We went at 5pm in order to get the Early Dining Menu. It was $30 for an appetizer, main dish, and dessert (not pictured). For the quality of food I think this deal was a great deal! We also snagged a few happy hour drinks ($5 old fashioned and $2 off rail drinks). The appetizers: I could have ate 10 plates of the Caesar salad. It was delicious and the fresh grated Parmesan was delicious. I had some of David's calamari and it was SO flavorful. There were fried jalapeños mixed in which added a great kick. Main Meals: We got the Salmon and Beef tips. These were both recommended by our very nice server. They were AMAZING! No food was left behind. Dessert: We got the sundae which was basic (vanilla ice cream, chocolate fudge and nuts) but tasted great! We were STUFFED but very happy by the end. We were looking for a place for dinner that didn't require a "dress" code and we found Lure! They accommodated us with a 7p reservation last minute, the staff were kind, and service was good. The lobster risotto was good, we also had the shrimp which was a bit salty, and I had the whitefish which was a large portion and very flavorful. I was looking forward to a great steak and wife feeling the crab cakes. While my filet hit the mark, it was by all means not 6 oz. Honestly the smallest filet I've ever seen. Maybe 4 oz. It was cooked well as were the potatoes. The greens added to the dish were pointless since the were fibrous and had maybe a teaspoon of dressing. Not good. The wife's crab cake were another story. They were oily. So much so that the color had a grey tint. Not appetizing zucchini fries were good as was coleslaw. Drinks and service were adequate. I do hate paying premium $ ($14) for a bourbon drink only to find they give you the same ice as they serve with soda. If your going to charge $14, give me a proper big cube. read more

This place really "lured" me in ;) We came here based on a recommendation from a friend and it did not disappoint! They have happy hour during the week till 5:30 so we showed up a bit before then. I recommend getting here early as the parking lot fills up fast! We sat at the bar for cornbread and wine. The cornbread was so crispy with a great flavor and for only $3 it's a must! They also do a deal during the week for an app, meal and dessert for $30 but you have to order before 5:30pm so we went and sat down for dinner. All the wait staff was super friendly thought our visit. We ordered cocktails which were pretty good and then our three course dinner. All I can say is WOW. Some of the best food we had on our trip! I definitely recommend the white fish, so flakey and a perfectly paired cream sauce on top. Dessert was a great way to finish it off right! An elegant spot in sister bay featuring seafood and steaks. We were visiting in early fall and ate here our first night. COVID RESPONSE: staff and customers all wore masks and tables were spread out. As it was a Thursday night, it didn't seem too busy when we arrived for our 7:00 reservation and lots of tables were just finishing up. The menu features lots of fish from walleye to halibut and you can get the Wisconsin fish fry daily as well. To start we opted for the really fresh and tasty Summer salad with cherries, pecans and goat cheese-delicious and easily enough to share. We also got the huge Corn bread with its crunchy golden top and big enough for six people. For our main course we chose the walleye with beurre blanc and pecans-fine but nothing special. The wine list is fine but not great-about what you'd expect in a small town. They were a bit short of servers but Maria was working hard to take care of everyone. What a fantastic spot for dinner! My husband and I were able to book last minute reservations on Saturday night. The ambiance was classy but casual, and very inviting. It wasn't too busy when we got there, but it was definitely filling up by the time we left. Despite being busy, service was on the ball! We were very intrigued by the 3 course early dinner menu. For around $30, you can choose an appetizer, entree, and dessert from the special menu, which is a great deal considering the quality of the food. This menu is available until 5:30. We did decide against the early menu, because I wanted to try the special of the night for my entree. We ordered crab cakes for an appetizer. These were the best crab cakes I have ever had away from the east coast. It came with a delicious coleslaw on the side and the aoli on top of the crab cakes was delicious! The special I ordered was crab encrusted salmon that came with baby red potatoes. It was absolutely amazing, I was more than happy to get to eat more of that crab! My husband ordered the seafood pan roast, and he loved it. Our dessert drink was probably the highlight of the meal, we shared a Brandy Alexander, which was fabulous! Nice and boozy, with delicious creamy ice cream. We are already talking about coming back to eat here next time we are in Door County. Our family ate an early dinner at Lure before catching a sunset sailboat ride. We benefited from a happy hour Old Fashioned for $5 and an early eating menu $30 for three courses. Our whole family skipped the desserts and doubled up on the appetizers. The calamari was the best. Lobster bisque and salad were still well prepared. We each got a different entree, but all were happy with their choices. My daughter really liked the sticky ribs. The servers were very helpful and were conscious of our need to get to our boat, so they helped us keep on schedule. Amazing restaurant experience, somewhat due to the food but mostly because of our waiter, Marko S. He was the definition of hospitality!! Our crew enjoyed a slew of tasty hand crafted cocktails-per our waiters recommendation went out on a limb and tried the spicy cucumber gimlet (caution, spicy means spicy)...yum!!! Split some spicy tuna rolls and corn bread for appetizers, weird combination but we had to try them both. Finally, our party of six enjoyed the walleye and NY strip and salmon. Everyone loved their meals as evidenced by 6 clean plates. The waiter was so accommodating and patient with all of our questions. He gave great honest insight which is always much appreciated. He even accommodated me-a pregnant woman with severe nausea and vomiting. I had FOMO and went to this restaurant expecting to eat nothing (fish and steak talk about food aversions!!!) but instead he was so sweet and had no problem when I asked for the (kids) buttered noodles. Had the seafood pan roast which was outstanding, though a little stingy on the scallops. My husband had surf and turf which was equally good and a good value. My friends and I stopped by Lure for dinner during a weekend trip to Door County. It is located in Sister Bay down the street from the marina. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant seems to have a focus on seafood and have an Asian fusion influence. The only reservation my friends and I could get was early, so we were able to take part in their early bird dinner special. The special was great - it was a small appetizer, entree, and dessert for a reduced price (~$25). It was a good deal so we all opted for that. I had the spring roll appetizer, the teriyaki chicken entree, and the cherry pie dessert. My companions tried the clam chowder and calamari appetizers and barbecue ribs and beef tips entrees. The stand out from the appetizer round was the clam chowder. As far as the entrées go, they were all solid, but I think the flavor on the beef tips was the best. It was just missing some sort of side such as rice or pasta. The cherry pie was not bad but nothing to write home about. Another friend of mine decided to order sushi which I would not recommend from this restaurant. The rice was under cooked yet and mushy at the same time, so the sushi was really not enjoyable. In addition to the early bird special, we decided to order the cornbread appetizer as well. This was the absolute best decision of the night. This cornbread is nothing like you've ever tasted before. It was so moist, delicious, and warm. It came with butter on top and we inhaled the whole thing. I could've ate 2 of those things by myself (& the serving it quite large). I will be back to Lure in the future at least for that perfect slab of cornbread - do yourself a favor and try it. read more

We really enjoyed this place. The service was all top notch. The food was good but could use an upgrade to the crusty bread. First off the parking lot could use a some good lighting for safety reasons. We ordered a California Roll as an appetizer and is was terrific. I ordered soup but it arrived the same time as our dinners so I sent it back not wanting it to get cold. I had the Seafood Pan Roast which was cooked great but as mentioned before, needed real crusty bread and not store bought French bread. My wife had the Whitefish Almondine which was also cooked perfectly and very tasty. She also had the cherry pie for dessert. I had the strawberry short cake. Both were delicious.
