Torn between two ratings. Feeling like a fool. I actually thought this place was gonna be a local place not the chain that it is. A chain that specializes in salads. Chopped salads to be specific. I also was expecting more of a "MOD" or Subway style of meal prep. Instead the food is ordered and prepared in the kitchen in the back. There are a number of signature chopped salads to choose from that are "designed" to be good. But they also have a build your own salad as well. You get salad and 8 toppings for $9...with additional charges for upgrades and more toppings. I got their Classic and only added some onions for 75 cents. Not sure I like the pricing structure. Seems to be designed to nickle and dime the more particular eaters...which a salad place is focused on anyway. The Salad was substantial enough to satisfy my salad craving. The "regular" level of dressing was a little too light and since there was an upcharge for an additional dressing...I decided to just pass. Another reviewer pointed at my biggest problem. We've been eyeing the Chop Stop for several weeks, even stopping by a couple times but never walking in. The location is always completely empty, every time we drive by. To be fair, it's almost always in the evening, between 5:30-8, but it's just bizarre that there is never any other customers there. Well, we're glad we did walk in. We were greeted with a friendly introduction to their menu & explanation of how things work. We decided on a couple of pre-determined salad options and customized them to our liking. We ordered our salads & a couple of pretzels to-go and waited patiently. Before I talk to the quality of the food, we were asked if we needed to use the bathroom while we were waiting. The gal wanted to clean the bathroom & wanted to make sure we didn't need to use it before she did. This was quite nice, but ended up being a little off putting later - as the same gal that was cleaning the bathroom was running back and forth to help with making our food. We couldn't see what was going on in the back or how much she was helping with the actual food preparation (verses just giving directions & support), so we just tried our best to pretend it didn't happen. The salads themselves were fresh & ingredients were mixed well together. Out of two salads, one of us got the salad dressing tossed in the salad - the other got it on the side - neither salad had enough dressing on it. We've never considered ourselves the "extra dressing type" (not that there's anything wrong with it), but we will be when we return to the Chop Stop. It needed about 25% more dressing in my opinion. The salad was also a very good portion - we were full from our salads before they were even gone. The pretzel was a nice touch with the salad - I'd wanted soup but the only one they had was not an interest to me. The owner/manager invited me back after my last review, and I accepted. I was super satisfied with my return! So was my husband. He got a chopuritto and I got the Cobb salad. Both were fresh and hefty. Service was great as well. I'm glad i went back to try it again and thankful to be reached out to, shows they care. And it's great to have a healthy fast option! What do I think about this place? Not bad... Not had at all. But I do have some issues. First, the good stuff. The salads. I got the sante fe, my wife got the Cobb. She absolutely loved hers. Perfect size, she said. Me? I liked mine just fine. Really good flavor, too. I liked the amount of toppings in it. It was nice salad. But, honestly, I was still hungry afterwards. The salads aren't cheap. You pay $10-$15, depending on what you get. When you pay that, there is an expectation of being "full" but that's not gonna happen with a salad. By mindful of that. Also, the drinks only come in one size. No small medium large here. One size only. 16 ounces? 24 ounces? Somethin like that. You can buy a snack size bag of chips to go with it, too. Will we go here again? Probably at some point. I wouldn't eat here a lot though. Why? I have a hard time justifying spending $30 bucks for two bowls of salad, a small drink, and a snack size bag of chips. To me, a salad is a side item. Not a meal. For me, I'd need somethin more substantial to feel satisfied. But, my wife likes it, so I'll probably be back here to buy her somethin. Also, I realize my bias against salad as a meal. So. Saw this on Yelp and thought I would try it for lunch. The salads are fresh and tossed well. You can choose to have it tossed with dressing or on the side. You can even have your salad put in a wrap if you like. I really liked that it was a true chopped salad where everything is the same size. I know I already said it was fresh but it was amazing like I just made it at home. It is a little expensive at over $9 but you get a lot for the price. I gave them 4 stars because were short staffed the day I was there and they weren't handling it well. I also asked to have my salad with no cucumbers and I got cucumbers. I did see two people returning with their salads while I was there but they seemed to leave happy after the problem was corrected. I ordered the classic choppurito wrap, which was huge and had a ton of various veggies, chicken, and rice in a whole wheat tortilla. I would of added some more sauce on it because it was a bit dry. But that's the great thing about this place, the customizations are endless! I will say the price is steep (almost $14 for my wrap) but i chose not to deduct stars because the ingredients are fresh, high quality, and generous. Very disappointed. I ordered a cobb chopped salad for delivery and added beets for $0.99. The total of the salad was over $17. As you can see from the picture there was barely any chicken; I would say no more than a half an ounce of roasted chicken, almost no boiled eggs. I would say maybe a half of a boiled egg chopped up. Maybe a quarter of an avocado chopped up, and a tablespoon or two of chopped up beets. It was 96% lettuce. It must be a huge profit margin because all of these ingredients probably totaled no more than $4. I'm actually having to boil a couple of eggs to add to the salad. She had no resolution because she hung up the phone after I corrected here that the symptoms of food poisoning usually begin within one to two days of eating contaminated food, although they may start at any point between a few hours. The main symptoms include: feeling sick (nausea). I will be reporting them to the state due to the mangers lack of response. I feel bad for anyone else that has experienced this at this location.
