I've been to Chopsticks may times and have always enjoyed it. We normally go when we have a groupon or living social which tends to be quite often. I believe it is family owned and the family is very accommodating. This Indo-Chines fusion is the best we've had in NJ hands down. If you are scared of spice then beware. This is not your normal Indian spice, this is the way Indo-Chinese was intended...like fire. So if spice isn't your thing tell them you want a 2 or 3 (on a scale of 1 - 10). I normally get a 7 and my tolerance for spice is extremely high and my eyes still tend to water at times. Their signature dish is easily the chili paneer, you wont be disappointed. If you want something less spicy the Hakka noodle rock. Something a little sweet, the Lotus root in a honey chili sauce is very good as well. Another favorite of ours which is just as good as the chili paneer, is the vegetable Manchurian, very fresh and you can taste the ginger giving it a fragrant flavor. They have a great Sunday buffet, which is a good way to try many of their dishes, however they don't make the buffet food as spicy as the a la cart dishes, since they have to accommodate the masses. If Indo-Chinese is what you seek, look no further. A couple of quick tips (no pun intended)...gratuity is included when using a coupon and when ordering the lunch buffet on Sundays. Have been ordering and eating at this place for years ... We prefer the chicken dishes dry and they are awesome ... Be it the pepper chicken or chilli chicken ... And the manchow and sweet corn soups to accompany that along with pleasing staff , make it perfect ... I've gone to this place twice in the past three weeks. The first time was with a large party full of adults and kids. The order came in a timely manner, the waiter was very pleasant and the food was great. I'm not a fan of extremely spicy food and the waiter took the time to provide suggestions. Pricing was average although I felt some of the appetizers were pricey. The second time I went with a couple of friends and once again, service was great and the food was excellent. May 6th 2017: I walk in to pickup my order only to find out that my order was given to someone else. A little disappointed, I left hungry and craving for some chopstick special drums of heaven. A little frustrated I continued my onward journey, 20 mins later, the owner of the restaurant calls me and tells me she has the order ready and will drive down to drop off the order. This wonderful human being drove down about 25 mins just to drop off my food and said, don't worry about the payment. We will figure that out tomorrow. I insisted that she doesn't have to drive down, but she urged. This is an example of going above and beyond to please your customer. This business will thrive, not just because of the delicious food, but because of how much they care about customers. God bless you and your entire staff! We went a few months back based on a recommendation from someone we met. The food is Indian-Chinese, which is Chinese food cooked with additional Indian Spices (which by the way is quite tasty in general). The ambiance was decent. We ordered the soup, the gobi manchurian (cauliflower deep fried and sauteed with manchurian spices), fried rice, and noodles. The food was very oily to the point that it turned us off. Indo-Chinese food is normally a bit high on oil, but the oil visibly coated every aspect of the food here - enough to give someone a heart attack just by looking at it. Food in general was tasty, but the spice level was a bit too much. We went there again a couple of days back hoping to give it another chance. We ordered pretty much the same fare. The soup was lukewarm and I could taste the starch - never a good sign. Then there was an inexplicable gap of around 20 minutes for the appetizer even though the crowd was thin. The appetizer was fine but had way too many green chilis in it - to the point of disrupting the eating process. The entree came right after the appetizer and this time around it was more on the bland side. The oil level was thankfully lower, but the food was not necessarily tasty. Overall, this is just OK if you have a craving for Indo-Chinese and you happen to be close-by. Otherwise, there are much better places than this one. You can easily give this a miss. read more

Good lord! I've never eaten anything so spicy in my life! My face was sweating, my nose was running and when I blew my nose I expected peppers to come out. We went through four carafes of water and two bowls of rice. When we ordered our food the waiter said it was "a little spicy," but I swear it felt like we were on some hidden camera show while the kitchen staff sat in the back laughing at us. When I rubbed the sweat from under my eye I felt like my eye was suddenly on fire. We're headed directly for ice cream in the hopes it may sooth the raging onslaught headed for our colons. read more

Inconsistent food for pickup/togo. Rude staff. Dine in probably yes as limited options in the area. After 3 mediocre experiences over the past year, this restaurant finally deserves a review. On first occasion, the staff gave us someone else's to-go order! On taking it back to the restaurant, the front staff tells us that "its your fault and we should have checked before leaving!" The other party was right there with the same issue!!! We were like dude u hand us the wrong order in the first place. On second occasion we planned to order on the phone from our car, and asked for some good options and the lady on phone rudely tells us "the menu is available online, everything is online now!" Thank you lady, we know that! Today did the same mistake, we ordered from this restaurant again...their chicken lollipop is just plain chicken wings dipped in batter and fried! What a rip off! Where is the red masala/sauce and all garnishing on the chicken lollipop! On a Sunday evening, my husband and I were the only customers in this restaurant. We've dined at their Edison, NJ location and love the food.. (However, the service in Edison is sloppy) ... So on this Sunday, we missed lunch and were really hungry but still decided to play safe and ordered only a soup and chicken lollipop to begin with. The hot and sour soup came to our table almost instantly, so it was some pre-made stuff... And it was SO HORRIBLE that I was in disbelief for a while! We started wondering if we should even stay for the lollipop or just go... By the time we decided, the lollipop was served. It looked quite appetizing and I dared to try it.. If the system allowed 0 or -ve points, I would rate my experience at this restaurant in negative points. Yes, I am not exaggerating, Chopstick in north Brunswick doesn't deserve anything above zero. The service is extremely slow, the waiter forgot to give us the menu and we had to wait 10 minutes and remind him to give us the menu. We ordered medium spicy food, and waiter confirmed that everything is cooked medium spicy. It took them more than 30 minutes to serve simple Indian Chinese dish (Rice and Manchurian), when the food arrived we were hungry (literally) and jumped on our dish. Little did we know, the food was extremely spicy (hot) and Manchurian was not even fully cooked. we didn't complain because we were very hungry, luckily the fried rice was cooked okay! During the dinner, no body bothered to stop by to ask if we needed anything else or if the food was OK There were only two waiters for the whole restaurant running around all the time. I had to look for one of them while eating to order soda. Sure enough, the soda was served in coke can (i don't think it is legal to serve coke in a can and charge 2 dollars to customer for it). I don't care so much about how much i had to pay for that soda, but the funny part is that the server didn't even bring a straw or a glass, we had to ask for it. So even after drinking soda, we still felt the need for something sweet to ease of our tongue and ordered an ice cream. I should have picked up the signal and not ordered the ice cream. it took 25 minutes and one reminder before i was served ice cream. by the time it came to my table, it was partially melted. I started laughing and told my wife we should not eat it, but i could see her face and that fact that the food was so hot we had to eat the ice cream. I purposely stood up and went to the cashier (owner) and complained about poor service. Instead of apologizing for poor service, she was talking back and accusing me that i was lying. She even accepted that the ice cream was "fluffy" and told me that's how ice cream is served. Come on, i have never heard anybody serve fluffy ice cream. Bad food, poor service, extremely bad attitude. In fact, two tables next to me (left and right), both of them complained about food being too hot, and the owner just laughed off that the Indian Chinese food is supposed to be hot, really????? A food connoisseur like me knows how to cook indo Chinese food, and definitely knows the difference between good food and bad food. If you want to risk your evening and eat raw spicy food, try your luck. Otherwise, please consider going to a different restaurant and enjoy your evening. If, however, you don't believe me and do decide to go to this restaurant, please be very careful entering the parking lot, you might run into some of the parked car or the building. This place has the most rude management. The food was cold and the management yelled and screamed when one customer complained and told them to take the money and go away. The mother's day buffet had too many items but most of them were not up to the mark. The chinese dishes were OK. The bad part was they kept cold pita bread instead of Naan. The worst ordering experience ever. We ordered the food at 6:20 PM on May 11th 2014. We were told it will be ready by 7:00 PM. The order was not ready at 7:00 or 7:15 or 7:30. The lady at the counter kept asking us to check back in 15 minutes every time. Me and my family kept waiting in the parking lot, and finally cancelled the order at 7:55 PM. To add insult to the injury, she shamelessly asked us to take a bowl of rice for free. It would have been perfectly alright had they declined the takeout orders since it was a very busy day . I really wanted to love this place since it's so close. I ordered $50 worth of take out and everything I got was such a disappointment. The drums of heaven were heavily breaded and it was hard to find any chicken. The coating of this appetizer definitely had some flavor but it was very thick. The chili prawns had zero taste and felt like it was watered down. When I ate the sauce with white rice I felt like I was eating nothing. The noodles and soup were subpar but not worth the money. Also, I had to ask couple of times to refill my water as the salt and pepper tofu only had peppers.
