The last couple of times I've ordered from here I have really been underwhelmed I don't know if they have gone through a change in owner/manager or if they have always been substandard and I didn't realize it until now. They are very convenient to my house and office and they deliver so perhaps I've just let it slide. The food isn't bad but its just so uninspiring. It's true, Asian restaurants have two menus. One for the gringos bland taste (as my white girlfriend would say). And a secret menu for fellow Asians. So keep this in mind as y'all compare restaurants. Try not to compare gringo-menus VS authentic-menus, the gringo-menus will never perform well when judged by people with complex taste preferences. With that being said; chopstick house does not offer two menus. They only have the gringo menu, and to be honest it's not that bad. Coming from an Asian raised on the complex flavors, the dishes we ordered did not offend me. All the food was fresh, and they didn't skimp on the portions. If your looking for authentic Asian food and your not Asian, find a friend that speaks the language and head up to Madison heights. We stopped in for some Chinese food on a cold January evening and had the place almost to ourselves. My wife had her usual Almond Chicken and it came out with a light batter and some almonds sprinkled over the top. It came with a yellow gravy and tasted pretty good. She is very picky on what type of oil it's fried in, and she wasn't crazy about the flavor. It came with white rice. I ordered the Happy Family extra spicy and it was delicious. The waitress forgot to order it spicy, so she brought out a small dish with chili oil and ground peppers which was perfect. It came with brown rice for a one dollar charge. We ordered hot tea and Crab Rangoons and enjoyed a good meal. All items were ala carte and we are used to getting a meal with soup, egg roll, fried rice, and hot tea. So it was a little pricier than our regular Chinese place, but it was quite good. Went here for Chinese New Year 2019. I am Chinese. I heard good things about this restaurant. We were the ONLY table in the entire restaurant. It was surprisingly dead, especially for it being Chinese New Year! The waitress was asked to substitute pineapple 4 times. She even made a big deal that there were no substitutes and that adding pineapple to the dish would be an extra charge. We agreed ok. There was no complimentary soup. When dinner finally came, none of it was very hot, luke warm at best. Like the food had been sitting out a long time. And guess what, there was no pineapple in the dinner, as requested, multiple times. I was so disappointed in this restaurant. The waitress disappeared and we had to even flag someone to refill water. It was just unbelievably POOR service and mediocre food for what they charged. Overpriced. There was just no excuse. The restaurant was not busy, but we were treated like we didn't matter at all. Ok; this was my third chinese restaurant since moving to the area. While the food wasn't bad, it's not the best "In My Opinion" of the three I've had. While the shrimp fried rice was flavorful it didn't have that authentic taste of fish oil and soy sauce, plus the shrimp wasn't De - veined, their General Tso wasn't bad, the flavors was off and the pan fried dumplings was generic warehouse bought, which appears to be the norm with most of the Chinese restaurant in this area. Overall my experience was 6 out of 10. NOTE: To be far....... Chopstick House does offer two different menus "American and Authentic". Chinese food is difficult to rate fairly, because everyone has a different take on what's authentic chinese. For me I'm still giving "Best China" on Lilly & Warren the #1 spot. read more

My favorite Chinese place in Canton. The food never disappoints me. In fact, I am eating my leftover cold noodles with peanut sauce as I type! It's one of those places where the food is so good you want to keep eating even though you're stuffed. My favorite dish is the beef with hot peppers and peanuts. Probably not their most popular menu item but to me it's the best! However, they could make it a tad spicier when I ask for a high heat level. I enjoy they staff, I always get good service. I order delivery from them a lot and my orders are always correct and delivered in a fair amount of time. I will not order Chinese from any other place in Canton, none of them compare! read more

Came in for lunch during one of my rare afternoons off from work, and was pleasantly surprised. The lunch special is 7 days a week until 3:00PM! And it is well worth the 6-8 dollars because the lunch special includes a choice of soup and a spring roll OR crab rangoon with your entree and choice of rice. I had the General Tso's chicken as it is a good barometer of what kind of place you're at... and it was mighty delicious. It was medium spicy just how i like it, the fried rice was seasoned well and the crab rangoon was even hot and crisp and cheesy good. Of course this isn't your authentic chinese place, but it's also not the greasy, take out only, poor quality food chinese food stand either. I would not hesistate to bring my wife here for a nice lunch out or a quiet dinner. I will be definitely be back to try the other lunch combos (you can even get a sizzling meat dish as a lunch combo which I've NEVER seen before!). I still haven't found my go-to place in Canton yet, so I stopped in at Chopstick house since it's on my way home. I've been there 3 times now and sampled: 1. Almond chicken - It's OK. Nothing spectacular compared with some other places. Probably in the top 30% of places I've been. 2. Garlic, spicy chicken - Pretty good. NOT spicy. Could have used more HOT and Garlic. 3. Unknown seafood bonanza dish - Outside my comfort zone, and DELICIOUS! All types of seafood served with noodles. Very good! One suggestion - try some seasoning (stuff is a little bland). 4. Fried rice - actually pretty tasty served with #1 & #2 above 5. Egg rolls - Better than spring rolls, but still could use some more bean sprouts. The decor is nice, the people pleasant, and the location pretty good (for me at least). Not my final choice, but I'll probably return sometime. read more

The appetizers I had (pot sticker and crab rangoon) were really good, some of the best I've had. I ordered Mongolian beef for the entree and was let down a bit. Quick and attentive service. We're pescatarian, and there was a good selection of tofu, veggie chicken, and fish dishes. Dishes were generous and flavorful. Veggies were crisp and fresh. The rest of my family is a wimpy about spicy food so we ordered everything "medium" which I was expecting to be pretty mild. I was pleasantly surprised that the Home Style Tofu had a good bite to it! Most disgusting Chinese food I've ever had. My fiancé and I came to try a new Chinese place after reading good reviews online. First we started with the drinks and friend pork dumplings. The dumplings were decent. Then we ordered the sesame chicken and the General Tso's chicken. I asked the waitress if it was dark meat or white meat, because I only prefer white meat. She looked confused and told me that everything on the menu is dark meat besides the stir fry. So I asked if they could be made with fried white meat. She said ok. We waited about 20 minutes for the food (mind you there was 2 other tables in there, both already had their food?). So she brought the food out. At first it LOOKED very good and I couldn't wait to eat it. Then I got a wiff of the smell and almost gagged. It smelled like rotten chicken, literally, old food that's been sitting in a fridge for weeks. We both tried a bite and it tasted even worse than it smelled. On top of that was rubbery. I'm not one to complain, especially since I'm a waitress myself and know how annoying it is when people send food back. But this was not edible. Neither one. So we waited about 15 minutes for the waitress to check on us. We told her how it tasted horrible and she offered to make something different. I was so grossed out that I just wanted to leave. So I said no Thankyou, I'll pay for the drinks and appetizer and you can just take these back. She started looking worried and concerned and said "there's nothing I can do about it" and told us to talk to the lady at the cash register if we didn't want to pay for it. (Why would I pay for something that i couldn't even eat a single bite of without spitting it out?) So at this point I'm extremely annoying and just want to leave. I went up to the register and told the lady what happened. Im assuming she was the owner? This is where my experience pushed me far enough to write this review. She made my fiancé bring her to the table and show her what was wrong with it. So I said no, it's disgusting and has a horrible smell and taste. She told me it's because I ordered the white meat. (Still trying to make me pay for it). Why the HECK would white meat make a difference?? Because it was rotten. Soggy, and gross. Tasted like blended up chicken that was half-way deep fried. I told her that I'm definitely not paying for it. She tells me "maybe you shouldn't order food you don't like so that you waste it." Excuse me? I'm ready to cause a scene at this point. I'm fuming and I'm done. So I said no, I ordered what I liked, it's not my fault you serve rotten old chicken. Because I request white meat, it shouldn't change the taste not quality of the food. She stopped talking and rang us up for the drinks and appetizer. WAIT IT GETS EVEN BETTER. So I'm waiting for my total. $8 and some change. Ok. So while I'm getting my money out of my purse I overheard her telling our waitress to go tell the kitchen not to cook the order that just came through by phone (which just so happened to be General Tso. SHE WAS GOING TO TAKE IT OFF OUR TABLE AND SERVE IT AS A CARRY OUT. I'm so disgusted that I just dropped my money down and walked out. NEVER AGAIN will I ever come here, nor recommend this to anybody. This place is disgusting, poorly ran, and the owner/Manager is a complete psychopath. I have been here twice and can say that most of the reviews are pretty accurate You can get a nice, quiet, dinner for a good price. I like the steamed vegetables with chicken and rice, Almost makes me want to pay with my blue cross card A nice alternative to the usual heavy, greasy fare served at other places. Service is a little slow only due to the fact they have one server, But it was not too painful. The servers both times were very kind and attentive, but the language barriers were obvious. The front desk staff tends to be a little bit stiff and unfriendly, but it might be a cultural thing. If Chopsticks polished up there customer service skills, I would give it 5 stars. read more
