First time ordering/eating from here. We had it delivered. Came 20 minutes prior to estimated delivery time, so that was a pleasant surprise. Our party tried a variety of food including: vegetable lo mein (full hot!), chicken fried rice, dynasty chicken, pork fried rice, fried dumplings and the lettuce wrap. No complaints on the food by anyone. Just make sure you have plenty of water nearby if you order anything "full hot," they mean it! read more

I looked up chinese restaraunts that deliver in the Canton area, that would deliver to my office-while a risky venture I know thought I would take a shot! I found Chop stick house on line, and the girl that works with me has vouched she had eaten there previously and it was good, so I trusted her opinion. Their website had all of their options and prices listed, we called and ordered and the cashier gave us the total. There was a seven dollar difference in what I came up with..I asked her what the cost was per meal and what was the delivery charge? The delivery was $6.00 and the meals we ordered had a $0.25 difference, I asked her if she knew the web prices were different and since thats what had been advertised could I have that price? She said no, and they knew the prices were different but that the owner would most likely not give me the difference off. THe cashier then offered me the owners cell phone for me to call and ask him...????? I told her that would not be necessary, and I would pay the difference but if she could check with him maybe he could refund the difference on our next order. The cashier expalined she had no control but would offer a dollar off of the delivery charge, I told her that was fine. The delivery guy gets here and gives me the regular total, I mentioned the dollar off and he says ,"oh it was already taken off", however the total was the same, as I had written it down. I paid the dollar, and the full price for the meals,(4 of them) even though the website advertised cheaper. I am not petty and will pay for good food, however if you advertie one price, give that price and if you say you are going to take a dollar off, take the dollar off delivery. The food was decent, but I would have to say the service is not up to par as far as having good business practices...whether it was a dollar or not...provide what you say. read more

My favorite Chinese restaurant in Canton. My husband and I have had the Ta-Chien chicken, General Tsou's chicken and the Hunan chicken which have all been great. The inside of this restaurant seems much bigger once you step in than it appears from the outside. It's clean and one of the prettier Chinese restaurants that I have been to in the area. One of our friends who is a vegetarian loves coming here because of the great veggie and faux meat options. Expect to have a ton of leftovers as the portions are huge. read more

Can't recommend this place highly enough. It is our absolutely favorite chinese restaurant in the area. We order take-out almost weekly and are never disappointed. We have also eaten in the dining room multiple times. The restaurant is small and tastefully decorated, although not fancy. Unlike most chinese restaurants that serve on heavy duty plates, Chopstix House serves on contemporary dishes that enhance the presentation. The food is consistently tasty and well prepared. My favorites are any of the entrees with Ginger & Garlic Sauce. Yum! The owners are friendly and professional at all times. I agree with many others that our former favorite was Szechuan on Ford Rd., but this tops it. read more

This place hasn't disappointed me in any way! They used to have the super-thick scallion pancakes (which I hated) but they seem to have changed to the thinner style now. So I am happy. They have the style of general chicken where it comes out with a red colored sauce. I personally like general chicken that is drenched in the near-black sauce. I love their hot pot dishes, all of them are good. Eggplant hotpot is good too; for those with a bias against eggplants. Besides the hot pot dishes, I love their curry medley! My husband and I are always on the lookout for good Chinese food. So when we heard about this place, we had to try it out. It's located on the same street as our current favourite Chinese restaurant, Best China, but on the other side of Ford, so we never noticed that it existed. We went on one Saturday, and had a late lunch. It was about 1:30 pm when we arrived, so the place wasn't packed, but there were few tables of people still dining there. During our stay, they seemed to have been receiving take-out orders continuously, as we saw a guy going in and out with food in his arms. Their lunch special seemed to be pretty good deal, as it's offered 7 days a week. I ordered off their lunch special, and my husband ordered from the regular (dinner) menu, and we shared an appetizer. I had the 3-ingredient sizzling plate (the last item on the lunch special menu), with a spring roll, hot and sour soup and fried rice. My husband had the crispy noodles with all kinds of meats (beef, shrimps, scallops, etc.), and we had an order of steamed vegetable dumplings. They first served us with a bowl of deep fried wonton skin kinda thing as an appetizer, I assume, with 2 kinds of sauces: soy based and sweet and sour. We didn't know what to think of it, as it didn't seem very authentic, nonetheless, we still enjoyed the crunchiness of the wonton skin. Then came the soup. It was neither great nor disappointing, just an average tasting soup. At least, it tasted much better than the one from some Chinese buffet places. Everything else sort of came together, except for the steamed dumplings, which the waitress did say that they would take a little longer. What we found strange was that my husband's order of noodles came with a bowl of plain white rice... Never had noodles with rice (double carbs!), but we ate it anyway. The spring roll was good-sized, but it tasted OK. It was a bit bland. Now that I think of it, maybe the sweet and sour sauce that came with the wonton skin would have gone nicely with the spring roll, but it's an afterthought. The 3-ingredient sizzling plate actually exceeded my expectations. I wouldn't call it an authentic Chinese dish, but it was Americanized Chinese food made pretty yummy. The fried rice was pretty standard, and I had it with the sauce from the sizzling plate. My husband's noodle was huge! We were shocked at how big the portion was! And it comes with rice! He said the beef had a bit of a weird taste, but overall, he liked it. Now comes the highlight of the meal... The steamed dumplings! I LOVED them! The skin is a bit thicker than how I usually would like, but it's chewy and not hard. I had them with the soy-based sauce that came with the wonton skin, and it was great! I would go back there just to have those dumplings again! Maybe their other dumplings are good too... like the potstickers. We shall find out... :) The waitress was very nice, and maybe because it was not a busy time, she was pretty chatty. The service was pretty quick and timely, and I enjoyed it overall. read more

My family and I order delivery from the Chopstick House fairly ofter, and we are becoming big fans. Prices are reasonable, delivery is quick and food is good. Best Chinese food in the area, bar none. I've been searching for a while and this has been consistently good in service and food. The food is fresh and hot. I've had the hot and sour soup which is both hot and sour without the gumminess at other Chinese joints. The food is not greasy and the egg foo young was hot off the wok sizzling from my plate, not droopy or soggy. I've had their appetizers and again the food is freshly prepared. While it may not be as "authentic" as some may want, this place is top notch for an American like me and I'm loving it! read more

Lots of problems with our food and service yesterday. 1. It took nearly 50 minutes for my carry out to be ready. 2. My son always orders sesame chicken and yesterday it was made with some type of pre-fab chicken nugget, not even actual pieces of chicken - it was dry and inedible, we threw it out. My husband ordered sizzling pan fried noodle and it tasted like cleaning fluid - we threw it out. 3. The soup was tasty but not hot and lastly 4. The Chicken Lo Mein had hardly any chicken, and it was not actual chicken pieces, it too seemed to be pre-fab. We have been to this restaurant several times and it has steadily gone down hill, unfortunately we will not be returning to this restaurant. read more

They must use fresh ingredients and chicken breast meat, because it just tastes so much better than other restaurants in he area. Also, they have brown rice! Great food. However, lately I've been receiving small/oddly sized portions with my lunch specials. They also never make my dish spicy enough despite my major emphasis on wanting it extra spicy. This is a great find. Used Yelp to find an alternative to our usual chinese restaurant in Canton. What did we have? Hot & Sour soup (done just right, with the pepper scent coming through, nice and spicy), General Tso's Chicken (wonderful flavor, not breaded but grilled) and Honey Mooners (a combination of shrimp and shredded pork). The presentation, the stylish plates and decor make this a very nice spot for a 'time out' dinner without the kids. Don't delay, go tonight! read more

Let me start by saying the food here is good...that should not be overlooked. I've never had an issue here and have been going for a few years. Called in my order and the woman stated it would be ready in 15 min. I show up 20 min later and she hands me my food and it looks to be extra food in the bag. I asked her about it and she says it's what I ordered. When I go to pay, its higher than my normal amount. It turns out that she thought I ordered something else (extra) on the phone. That's fine, maybe bad communication. I told her I didn't want that but she kept saying I ordered it and had to pay for it. After going back and forth for a few minutes, I just gave up. I was hungry and it was just an extra $7.00 (I'd rather pay $7.00 extra dollars for something I would eat). Mistakes happen, I just expected better customer service. read more

I went here today on the advice of my friend. We decided to do a sit down. The waiter was attentive and friendly. The restaurant was a nice quaint spot. The only downside is that there are no Combos at Dinner. Only a la Carte. I ordered the Szechuan chicken, Spring roll and Wonton Soup. The food was good. The Szechuan was not as spicy as I wanted it to be. I am a spicy kinda guy so I ordered medium plus but it was kind of medium mild(If there is such a thing this was it). I will order Plus next time knowing this. It had a good veggie mixture and an OK amount of chicken. My friend had the Chicken Lo Mein. It was good also. She thought the noodles should have been smaller but I begged to differ on that one. She did not even want a Fortune cookie. Who does not want a fortune cookie!? I digress. I go here often cuz it's 5 minutes away from my house. It's a nice little spot that "feels" like an asian restaurant from the color scheme, to the furniture, to the decorations. I'm always greeted by a nice staff and thats always a pleasant feeling. I went here for Valentine's day, and the wait was reasonable. I always get the general tso chicken cuz it's pretty good here and it's typically a safe entree to get. I always enjoy it here and always comes out as expected. No surprises here. Not too wet and not too saucy. Good texture to the bite and not too doughy. They provided a compliment cake after dinner which was delightful to eat. This just translates to saving me more money so the wife won't force me into getting dessert post-dinner. Prices are reasonable with great staff. All our dishes were included components that were fried heavily, more so than the average Chinese restaurant, and saturated with oil. I felt interminably thirsty and heavy from dinner. I suppose it is more difficult to get fresh ingredients in MI than on the West coast where I've had most my Chinese restaurant food, so upping the oil in cooking is one way to make the food seem more appetizing. read more

Love this place! It's a curse and a blessing that they can deliver to my house. I havent ordered anything I havent liked. All of the fried dishes are amazing, light, crispy,sauces are not too gloopy. This is our chinese staple for delivery. In-restaurant dining is so-so, quiet, but kinda cramped. Everything is great here! The service is attentive without being oppressive. The food is fabulous. Try the best Crab Rangoon - crispy tips with smooth delicious fillings. I called for a delivery and was told 30-45 minutes which I had no problem with. The driver arrived literally 20 minutes after I called! Add to that the food tastes absolutely amazing! I dined here tonight with a friend, arriving at 9:45 pm. Although CHOPSTICK HOUSE doesn't close till 11:00p.m., the place was dead. Just us and another couple. When I asked for HOT TEA, the polite waitress kept asking me if I wanted ICED TEA...never have iced tea in a chinese restaurant. Tea must only be HOT when served in a CHINESE RESTAURANT! When the tea arrived, it WASN'T hot, merely warm...yeeeech. We each ordered a red listed "hot" dish, asking the waitress to make them "hot" and spicy. Our dishes arrived, and the portions were disappointingly DINKY. We're used to the larger portions at SZECHUAN, and our food was tasty but WAY TOO mild, even for a 4 yr. old..when we asked for SPICY...HOT! They also didn't give us enough rice. So, the prices here may be $.50 less per entree compared to SZECHUAN, but taking the small portions and lack of SPICE and RICE into consideration, dining here at CHOPSTICK HOUSE is really quite a bit pricier. I was in town visiting friends & wanted something other then pizza that delivered. After reading several yelp reviews I decided to go with this one. The food was good, I got the lunch special of orange chicken with fried rice, wonton soup & a spring roll. The orange chicken had to much fat on it for my liking but the fried rice was very good. I don't like that they charge you a dollar per mile for delivery or $.50 per mile since they go both ways. I paid an extra $6.00 for them to drive 6 miles to me and then I felt I should still tip so that to me is a little odd but other then that good food and got here pretty quick. read more

Only ordered from here once. I usually get the boneless almond chicken or sweet and sour chicken the first time I try a Chinese place as they are generally safe. My boyfriend only ever gets sesame chicken, he's a man of habit. My boneless almond chicken was so dry I had difficulty cutting it. My boyfriend said it was the worst sesame chicken he's ever had. They also told me that I had to come pick it up because their delivery boy was too busy it could take an hour and a half to deliver, which I thought was extreme. read more
