This restaurant has a lot of good things going for it but 1 massive and important failure. It's a big place with about 4-5 different rooms each appearing to be intimate to a certain point. All the rooms are right off the dining room which has many different stations consisting of a huge variety of food from Chinese to sushi to seafood, fish, beef, pork, chicken, raw vegetables, salads, 'Southern food', soups, noodle bar, a large Hibachi area with many selections, a varied dessert bar plus many more items. The service is excellent, except for a minor misstep, drinks refilled without asking, dirty dishes removed as soon as they are ready to be taken, the check presented on time and the tables kept clean. The only minor service problem is no replacement of silverware and you could use the same fork for your salad, various main courses, dessert. The major, massive, important failure was the temperatures of the food with only the Hibachi, cooked while you wait for it, hot and the foods that should have been hot were at most room temperature. We were there at lunch and certainly, the price was right at $7.19 for the buffet and $1.99 for soft drinks but, considering, it is a 40-minute ride out to the Tamarac location on West Commercial, the what should be hot food is lukewarm, the ride wasn't worth it. A few other minor problems being that &^%$&*&^ television in the dining rooms, the one ice cream scoop for the varied ice creams which can cause a pile-up at the dessert section, the Hibachi setup being somewhat confusing I doubt very much if I would go out there again. Right now, in my opinion, the Nabu American Fusion Buffet on Federal Highway is still the best buffet available in Broward county. read more

When we arrived w a party of 6 for my son's bday dinner it was packed on a Sunday but we didn't wait long in the line which was a big relief. They have multiple dining rooms and there's plenty of seating. There's a wide selection of foods and even habachi is included in buffet. U pick up your ingredients and stand in line. The tile flooring was dirty because of all the foot traffic...which was understandable. If u get claustrophobic don't go here Cz it gets really tight w everyone trying to serve themselves. The restaurants physical appearance is very nice and spacious ,the options they have are plentiful and with that being said I'm not so sure the food was was the greatest as I've frequented a plethora of Chinese buffets in the area. Just got back from a great Buffett. Lots of choices and very clean. The variety of foods should suit all tastes. The only downside was not all the food was very hot however you could have it freshly cooked at a grilling station. We loved the many shrimp choices since we are both seafood lovers. I was so excited to try this restaurant but what a let down. A friend suggested it to us and they were raving about how good it was so we headed to chow time for dinner. The food is just ok, nothing remarkable or memorable. It will stop the hunger and the price is good for a dinner buffet $12.99. Sunday, July 8, 2018, I took the family to Chow Time right after church. I've visited Chow Time before for lunch with colleagues. I checked the website and it advertised that they closed at 10:30pm. We arrived at 9:45pm and the male host told me "sorry sir kitchen closed no more food." I didn't argue because the family was starving and we needed to find a place specially for the children. Listen, if they closed at 10pm, I wouldn't be writing this negative review. The place can be good for lunch, but when you tell me no more food with 45 minutes to go before their scheduled closing, I'm done. You couldn't pay me to go back! I glanced over to the Buffett tables and they had plenty of food. Shame on that host and more on management for allowing poor customer service at the entrance by denying service with plenty of time to go before closing. read more

Lots of selection but the sushi rolls are filled with and an orange mystery stuff and lots are filled with banana, that turned me off right away. The regular sushi is good and fresh but the fried calamari was soft and soggy. My husband loves the boneless ribs with white rice and fried dumplings, always a winner. If I could give zero stars I would. My family and I went to dinner 14/12/7 and husband. My husband and 7 year ate their plate. The rest of us ate one bite and were disgusted, my shrimp melted in my mouth not in a good way, my daughter crab sushi had a funky crab taste that she had to spit it out and my son said the Mac and cheese tasted like sour patch kids. I spoke to the manager and told her that none of would eat anything else or finish our plates. So one bite and she took $7 off the $70 bill because some people just have small stomachs and they charge them the same. I can understand if we tried multiple things but we didn't my kids wouldn't even try dessert because they were disgusted. We were there a total of 15 minutes. Disappointing to just plain bad, mixed with low prices and a few good points IF the place were just reviewed on decor it would get 5 stars - this is the most beautifully done new place with high end finishes well above any other buffet ( with the one exception that the food stations are placed so close together that you are constantly bumping buts with the people behind you) And, then there is the offensive management and the mediocre at best food Management could not even get their opening day information correct, always promising one day and coming to find out "Not yet" - they are so incompetent that they don't even know how to set up their answering machine to give out a correct message (or any message at all) - super basic "Business 101" things they are blissfully unaware of, then add arrogance and condescension on top of it But, the table service was prompt and friendly FIRST: I always use Hot & Sour soup to judge any Chinese restaurants to get the standard dishes correct - this was a total fail and literally the worst ever - there was not even one drop of vinegar which is one of the basic ingredients = the "sour" of hot & sour. Imagine selling an omelette but not including eggs ! Chef totally clueless about this basic and no one from management either cares, or notices - Afraid to even try the "Miso" soup since it was WHITE ! Now, to the sushi - this makes up maybe 1/4 of their food stations and it was so cold as if it had just come out of the refrigerator ! - Now they do have guys there making fresh sushi and I was there just after 12:00 and they open for lunch at 11:00 so this should not have been refrigerator cold, but it was - also there was NO sashimi, just rolls, and only a couple pieces of Nigiri I wouldn't even dare to try their "Southern" items - just from the look of all items, Golden Corral down the block does this better. Their "Ham" for self carving was some sort of industrial compressed roll of something pink pretending to be meat. NOW: to the good, their Hibachi offerings of course are diverse and freshly cooked to order so they can not go too wrong. and the noodle station for selecting your own is unique to Chow Time, EXCEPT the Chicken broth option was magic marker crossed out and they only had beef stock, seriously ?, when chicken broth is the staple of this whole food group ! The very best was the desert selection, they had a Strawberry TiraMiSu that was worth returning for, though it was just labeled as strawberry cake. Many other items throughout the Buffet were also mislabeled and misspelled (again pointing to the arrogance of management to not even check OR ask) The prices are the cheapest of all other buffets to begin with and they also offer a Senior discount, thus making this worth going to for the low prices and sticking to the Hibachi and desserts. BUT, why can't they even have the green-topped low sodium soy sauce on the tables like EVERY other Chinese restaurant and buffet ? PS: Friends have told me that the promised Crab Legs and Oysters for dinner are NOT there except on weekends (as yet unproven, if even then) Tried, but any suggestions to management are definitely NOT welcome read more

Went with my co-workers for a late lunch at around 3:00. The food was fresh and they kept replenishing the items on the buffet. At the end they put out steak and i got a piece before I realized it was meant for dinner only (Whoops). It was grilled and not overdone. I was impressed . Nice place and setting, additionally the food was delicious especially the fried dumplings and they have variety of meats and sushi as well. The prices are very affordable probably the best in the area. In the negative side the drinks tasted weird(like soap) and the dessert was very average nothing special about the cakes and ice creams. I am defenitly impressed with how fast and effective the service here is! We got here on a Saturday night and the line was almost out the door but we were literally seated in 10 min or less. I was here eating before the dinner menu started and went to get crab after it started and in the middle of me eating my crab a lady that works here walked up to my table sayin i have to pay a extra 4 bucks if i wana continue eating the crab and i refused because the lady dat served my food didnt inform me of that policy and then wen i refused to pay extra the lady took my food in the middle of me eating. A Chinese food buffet is an inexpensive night out. Gourmet it is not. $30-$40 per person it does not cost. It presents a good food variety of American and Oriental dishes including sushi and hibachi items.The wait staff is attentive,the food hot and or cold fresh and replaced as needed. Food was not as good before Covid though somewhat edible I give the food a 3...the customer service as in waiter and guy at grill 0 I received 1 refill being there an old unexpected 2 hours probably because I was thirsty...My food sat on the grill as the the guy looked at me and choose to chop ribs burning the food...lastly my party never received a receipt so we walked to the counter...the lady took my card as I told her separate tickets...she did not believe me when I told her my ticket was the one with no drink...she took my card with her walking throughout the restaurant as to check which seat I sat in....the waiter finally came with the receipt out of nowhere only to charge my card for the whole party.....all this to say after moving to S Fl in 2018 finding a nice Chinese Buffet...2021 the place has gone down...the food wasn't fresh, I actually told them the lettuce for the salad...she said 10 mins she would be back with fresh lettuce only washing the lettuce as if the old blackness would wash off...Bad Experience also you serve yourself, all of the customers did not have on gloves, I only went because I was told that they would serve the customers and that didn't happen. read more

As good as it gets in Broward County. The best buffet, the best Asian food, huge selection and great value! Have been there twice and still haven't sampled everything. Hot dishes fresh, crisp and flavorful, seaweed salads, sushi and other cold dishes all great. A few minor criticisms, duck sauce too sweet, Egg foo yung gravy not so hot, hot and sour soup 2nd only to Beijing, poached salmon way too done. The trays never empty out and you get your money's worth many times over. We watched with anticipation for a year while under construction and the wait was really worth it! Saw the commercial for this place so I thought I'd check it out. Went with my friend around 1pm on a Saturday. The price seems fair for the huge selection of food, most of which was fresh and tasty. The staff are friendly enough. Here's the problem... about 2 minutes into my second plate I noticed something walking across the floor towards another table. It was a cockroach about an inch and a half long. I didn't want to create a scene so I slowly looked up at my friend, who had a similar look in her eyes. She asked me if I just saw something? When I asked her why, she said, "Don't freak out but a cockroach just walked across the back of your booth seat and ran under that picture on the wall". Didn't bother to tell any of the staff. This is one of those places you will leave with a bad taste in your mouth. Buffet was ok. Not that good I thought it was odd they had raw meats for the grill placed next to the salad bar. Place smelled funny and wasn't clean at all but then again I went on a Sunday and it was packed full of people and little kids running around. I gave this review one star because the worker who handed me the bill walked up to me before i left and showed me the calculated amount and said i was short of tipping her a full 20% or more. I tip in cash and i check my receipts and compare them to my credit card account at the end of the month and i seen that she stole $8.00 extra that i did not authorize. I will report this to my credit card company. I advise everyone who eats in this roach hole to watch their bank statement so this doesn't happen to you. read more
