That said, aside from the bone issue, the meal itself was enjoyable. Next time, though, I'll probably play it safe and order something different.

The pork belly was probably one of my favorite parts. It's actually seared, which gives it such a good flavor and texture compared to pork belly that's just sitting in the broth. Even the sauces they make for the ramen were amazing and added so much extra flavor. We also tried the chicken karaage and the chicken karaage sandwich. The sandwich was delicious and everything was seasoned really well. My only critique was the coating on the regular karaage -- it was falling off the chicken a bit, so I would've loved for the breading to be crispier and stick to the chicken better. Flavor-wise though, it was still really good! The only other thing I'd love to see is some complimentary toppings at the tables, like chili flakes/oil, sesame seeds, or other seasonings so you can customize your ramen a little more. Overall, though, I was genuinely impressed. The spicy tonkotsu alone is enough to make me come back. Great flavors, perfectly spicy broth, amazing seared pork belly, and a really good house-made sauce. Definitely a spot I'd recommend!

Just the right amount of slurp-ability and a great chew to it. Their broth soup was very unique to me; it had an herbal taste and a rich and complex flavor to it. Their OG Beef Noodle Soup came with their braised beef shank, mustard greens, tomato, and bok choy - all the elements I am looking for in a beef noodle soup. I did have to add an egg though, for an extra $2, which was unexpected and a bit of a let-down for me. Their braised egg wasn't as flavorful and it seemed a bit dry in fact. I do love eggs especially with my noodles, and sometimes it can even be the star, so it was sad to me it didn't live up to be the $2 I paid. But that's okay! I would just come back here for just their fresh hand-crafted noodles - they are just that good! Like most of the restaurants at the market, I paid upfront and got a buzzer. It was ready in about 5 minutes and served hot and ready to dive in! The portion is huge so I even got to take about half home to enjoy at another time. It was even better re-warmed on my stove top the second time around. Shootout to the friendly staff here who are so genuinely kind. I witnessed a staff member helping another customer for about 10 minutes figure out what they wanted on the menu. They took the time to explain the menu and showed pictures, too. Feeding a massive group of hungry performers, stage crew, and staff during a production is no easy task, but Chowking completely crushed it. They provided an absolute feast that kept everyone fueled and energized. The Chinese-style fried chicken was an absolute hit--perfectly crispy on the outside, incredibly juicy on the inside, and packed with savory flavor. Paired with their delicious, perfectly seasoned rice, it was the ultimate comfort meal. On top of that, the Asado Siopao was pure perfection. there is a server there that is extremely rude. her name is marielle. she's an absolute disgrace to this establishment. i was very disappointed because the food and beverages are wonderful, but i would not return for that kind of service. she did not greet me, threw my credit card at me and practically threw my order at me. i had to make a complaint to the manager who listened very nicely. i think we customers owe it to the owners to let them know when they have workers who will drive business away. i definitely will not return. there are other places in the area that serve similar food. too much competition to have rude worthless employees. read more

I ordered the Beef Wonton today from Chowking, and I was thoroughly disappointed...The portion size was incredibly small, with just a few tiny pieces of meat and a scant amount of noodles. Most of the bowl was filled with soup, which felt like a way to skimp on the main ingredients. I expected a hearty meal but ended up feeling more like I had sipped a light broth. For the price, the value is just not there. I hope they consider increasing the portions and improving the balance of ingredients in their noodle dishes. If you're looking fast and cheap Chinese food with Filipino flavors, this is your place! The rice bowls are so flavorful and you can just taste the freshness, unlike some other fast food Chinese restaurants. I tried the beef bowl and chicken bowl, the Meaty Siobao and siu mai, lumpia and sweet sesame balls. We loved every dish, especially the beef bowl and meaty Siobao. I even bought some frozen Baos to take home and eat for breakfast. Staff is always friendly and the store is always clean. Highly recommend this place! read more

We got lumpiang Shanghai (mini egg rolls with ground pork and shrimp) and a mix of bihon and canton. Most items serve three to four people, so come with a hungry party and prepare to take leftovers home. The crispy pata (a deep-fried pork knuckle) had a lot of flavorful and juicy meat. While this dish is inherently fatty, there is still meat to cut off. The kare kare (beef chunks, tripe, and vegetables with a braised peanut gravy) tasted good. The rich flavor was also influenced by vegetables, such as eggplants and long beans. Some of the beef chunks were a little fatty. The lumpiang Shanghai arrived late into our lunch because we had to follow up with our server. While they currently charge $23 just for this appetizer, the portion size was much too small. It seems that with this specific package, you'd get a smaller appetizer portion. The bihon (thin rice noodles) and canton (thick egg noodles) pancit mix tasted adequate, and we had no complaints. I enjoyed the kenchi steak the most. This dish is beef shin topped with bone marrow served on a sizzling plate with gravy and vegetables. The beef had a thick texture, and the potatoes tasted soft and lovely. It was filling and noticeably better than the items in the tipid package in my opinion. Lastly, even though we visited around noon, they unfortunately didn't have halo-halo (a Filipino milky shaved ice with fruits and preserves) available as a dessert. At the end of the day, this is a solid restaurant with large portions and well-seasoned flavors. I definitely see why it's a family favorite for many.

I was bragging to my best friend about their food because we are foodie's and we love to eat. We were excited about what we were going to eat on Thursday, March 27 '26 and we had gotten there around 5:30. They close at 7 sp we had an hour and a half to eat. We ordered about 6 dishes --Pork Sinigang, Adobong Pusit, Bihon Guisado, Garlic Rice, Plain Rice, Crispy Pata , Ube Turon. When the orders came, the rice was so little, what they said was good for 2 people is actually only good for one. We asked for ice. They said they had none. not a big deal but honestly ice is a very important thing to have. There were no condiments on the table (patis , toyo, suka) etc which is common place in Filipino eateries. Around 6:30 we were being asked to finish our meal because they were "closing". Did they forget we ordered a bunch of stuff. If they are worried about their closing time, rhen please dont accept people an hour and a half before closing as you guys kmow Filipino food is not burgers and fries . You eat w little bit of everything slowly , its a cultural thing. We were again told two more times to hurry eating as they were closing. I was so shocked i coulf barely believe this kind of treatment. As a former caterer and hotel manager, we have never kicked anyone out of any establishment when they are still eating. You shut the door, you stop taking in customers but you always let the people still eating inside finish their meal, even if you had to stay behind for a bit. Another reason i took my best friend to dine rhere is because we were both so hungry and we dont do any cooking in our homes. My best friend paid for the meal --almost $150 , we decided against leaving a tip because the service was poor. The people working in the front had a less than acceptable demeanor, rushing us out of there we couldnt even finish eating. All in all, i felt embarassed in front of my best friend who treated me to the meal, when i had done nothing but brag about this place and their food non stop. I wpuld have loved to have had a conversation wirh Ms Nova Mendoza herself in person to compliment her on the amazing food but also to tell her that the staff needed further training im hospitality, customer care, and soft skills , it is their behavior and conduct which will bring this restaurant down. Please dont chase people out when they are eating. That was so poorly done.
