Good looks and smells delicious. Owner brought over free dessert. Ambiance is mellow. Employees were very nice and greeted us. Owner/ manager assisted me and my partner with the menu

Beef Wonton and Meaty Asado Siopao (1pc)

The place is always clean. The people are nice. I didn't expect the fried chicken to be so goooooood!!! It's crispy and juicy. A must try! Don't forget to buy the gulaman drinks.

Chinese style fried chicken

Ordered the 8 piece chinese-style fried chicken legs and thighs through DoorDash and was seriously impressed. Even though the delivery ran a bit late, the chicken held up perfectly--still super crispy and not soggy at all. That's the ultimate test! Beautiful presentation and delicious flavor. I highly recommended.

1 Entree Lauriat- beef and broccoli

I was at seafood city supermarket and needed to pick up a quick lunch for the next day. There are a couple of items I wanted to try but decided on their one item combo. You can also get just a rice bowl but I wanted to try their noodles too. My one item combo came with a big scoop of rice, stir-fry noodles, beef and broccoli, and something like a red bean sesame ball. I did enjoy everything. The noodles and the beef and broccoli were very flavorful. The food tasted fresh like someone was just making me dinner at home. The whole combo was less than $11. They also have big bun I want to try. I think the buns are their top seller cause I saw everyone buying them. They sell it warm or frozen. Another items I want to come back for are for their desserts. They have halo-halo and taho. I love taho so I'm very excited to try that. The service was great. The parking is plentiful. Overall, a quick spot to pick up a snack, dessert, or a simple meal.

We wanted Halo Halo today while out in the Pomona area. Driving back on the 10 freeway, we stopped by the Jolibee across from Ikea on Barranca in West covina. The store employee informed is that they no longer serve Halo Halo. So sad!! But we had our hearts set on Halo Halo so we decided ton drive a few more miles to the Chowking on Amar for them!!!! It was well worth the drive!!! Their Halo Halo is the best in town!!! What a refreshing treat while we have this horrible heat wave in town today!! All the tables at ChowKing were full and literally everyone was having Halo Halo!!! Great minds like alike lol! We will definitely be back again

Good food and nice people. Mom loves the asado siopao. Happy Chinese New Year! ........

Super solid spot for a family dinner!…read more We ordered a massive spread from here and honestly, everything was really good. The kung pao chicken had a great savory flavor with just the right amount of kick and a good crunch from the peanuts, while the orange chicken had a really good, tangy sweet glaze to it. Just a heads-up if you like it super crunchy, their version is definitely on the softer, saucier side (which I prefer), but the flavor is spot on. The minced chicken lettuce wraps were fresh and super flavorful, and the egg drop soup was pure comfort in a bowl and came out piping hot. The absolute standout was definitely the deep fried fish fillet. The batter was super light and airy, and the fish inside was perfectly flaky and tender. We paired it all with the vegetable lo mein, which was loaded with veggies and the noodles weren't mushy at all, which is always a win. Portions are good, everything feels fresh, and it definitely hits the spot. We have been dining here for years and will continue to do so!

I was able to find parking pretty close and tried to avoid parking in the reserved spots for specific stores. It was quiet and empty when I went in, the place was spacious and I saw seating and a drink fountain dispenser (a few drinks not available but they had my Diet Pepsi). I was greeted warmly and I ordered two 3 item combos: Chow mien, orange chicken, mushroom chicken, and pork stew White rice, teriyaki chicken, chicken and potato stew, and salt and pepper chicken. My favorite was teriyaki chicken and salt and pepper chicken. Everything was good honestly, I didn't have anything bad to say other than the containers will leak through into the bag and you will get sauce on the napkins, utensils, and sauce packets. For the price, it was $30 plus drink and can definitely satiate 4-6 people. They have a tip jar and since I paid cash, I forgot to tip but will go back and make sure I tip! The server is really nice, we chatted a little and she is very sweet. Apparently my bf knows about the place and the owners years ago so next time I'll bring him to try it now!

I think the intent is so you order fast and don't linger. Not a negative for me since my family usually is pretty quick about eating and going. They are also pretty good with customizing their ingredients. My wife is gluten free so we would ask that they not add in soy sauce or oyster sauce in some of the dishes that we know can still work without those two ingredients. You would need to know how to customize it yourself as I don't think they would know what to do if you simply say no gluten. Overall, I really don't have anything negative to say about this place. The food itself was fresh, hot, and really flavorful. We tried the orange chicken, Kung Pao chicken, mushroom chicken, and the string bean chicken and all were delicious. Everything tasted well-prepared and satisfying. The service was good, and it made ordering easy since the staff spoke both Mandarin, Cantonese, and English. On a weekday, I ordered the Crab Roe & Pork Xiao Long Bao ($15 - 8 Pieces), Fish & Coriander Dumplings ($14 - 8 Pieces), Shanghai Shrimp and Pork Wonton ($15), and Crab Meat Egg White Soup ($15) on the phone for To-Go. The lady on the phone spoke fluent English, and she spoke with an upbeat and cheerful personality. My food was ready for pickup in 30 minutes. Concerning parking, it's not too bad. Parking is available but competitive. The location has many cars searching for spots since this plaza includes the popular 85 degrees bakery. When I'd arrived that Monday, there was already a HUGE line of people waiting for Dine-In. I just walked in to approach the counter. Staff requested my phone number for pickup, and Staff moved very efficient and business-like. Regarding the food, it was DIVINE. The flavors and textures were impeccable. I happily feasted.
