Always a good stop to find some Filipino home goodness. Chicken skewers have that bbq char reminding you of younger years getting the marinated meat and skewering the beef onto the sticks before the extended family arrives. Make the rice! The classic flavor is the craveable bite that takes me back. Service is welcoming helpful and friendly. Inside seating available. Parking right in front of restaurant.

Came in for a late lunch and ordered pansit malabon and it looks like pansit cabbage. I guess there was a sale on cabbage, they overloaded our order with cabbage. I ended up having gas in the evening. And to add to that, the kitchen was too noisy for us to enjoy our cabbage pansit. There was yelling, screaming and loud talking and laughing enough to scare us away. This review is based on todays meal.

We have not been here for a couple of months and was surprised on some changes. First, you need to pay if you want an extra Styrofoam plate. That's ridiculous. The crispy tokwa have much less crispy pork than before. The goto also doesn't have any taste with less meat. Their quality obviously has gone down. For this experience I will give them 2.5

Decent Filipino spot, but nothing that really wowed me. I had the longganisa and eggs plate for breakfast and it tasted fine. My favorite was the goto porridge, very delicious on a cold day. Combo plates range from $13-$16 and come with a side of sinigang.

There were some hits and misses with some of the dishes that I ordered. However, I should preface this by saying this is probably one of the better Filipino restaurants in the area. Here's what we got: - Pancit Malbon: I've been trying to find a good one and this is probably one of my favorites. It could use a few more shrimp on top, but the sauce and noodles are good and the addition of the cabbage adds a different texture. - Lumpia Shanghai: Good flavor, though kind of small. - Lumpia Prito: super large (and not in a good way), greasy, but the vinegar made this way better. - Chicken skewer plate: the addition of the achara was perfect, even though it teetered on the side of a bit too sweet. Overall flavor was good. - Crispy Tokwa't Baboy: the fried tofu and lechon were excellent. the vinegar sauce wasn't too strong and had a slight sweetness. The only thing I didn't like about this dish was the pig ear. It was too soft and squishy, not a great texture. Overall, there were some good dishes and not so good. Definitely would considering coming back for the pancit malabon, lumpia shanghai and tokwa't baboy.

I came in on a Sunday afternoon around 3pm, and my first impressions walking in was the interior is clean and pleasantly warm. I ordered the creamy mala seafood pasta since it was the most unique dish on the menu. Service was good but nothing special. Creamy mala seafood pasta, 2.5/5: The pasta was inoffensively average. There were some bites that were creamy and some bites that weren't. I honestly thought it could use more cream or butter to add some more richness. The pasta itself was al dente. There wasn't much flavor overall with the dish, and the mala was very mild (for reference, I can handle medium spice levels at other restaurants). The seafood quality was okay for the price. Overall, I thought the ambiance was really nice, but the pasta I ordered was average at best. Maybe I will give this place a 2nd chance and try something else.

Owners are so nice and cool, one is the chef and the other is a pastry chef. Atmosphere and vibes were nice in a Saturday evening, but food could be a bit better. I am so glad we chose Hide Out Cafe in Rowland Heights to have our celebration. The food is delicious, the staff is so friendly, and the cafe is so cozy and welcoming. My brother was sponsoring our meal since he couldn't make it, so of course we had to go all out and order two drinks and two main dishes. (Thank you, big brother)! I got the Boba Bear Set $8.50, which comes with a drink and two house-made cookies, and my mom got their Tiramisu Latte $7.00, which is heavy on the coffee liquor, to be honest, but we had fun with it. The drinks are crafted beautifully, and with the open cafe concept, you can see they pay attention to the small details of their crafted drink menu. The house-made cookies that were a part of my Boba Bear Set are not to be forgotten. The cookies are buttery, decadent, and delicious; they are the perfect tea cookies to pair with! I can't wait to go back and try more of their fun drinks and maybe bring a study book the next time. For our main dishes, we shared the Chimi Wagyu & Frites $35.00, and the Fresh Avocado Toast $19.00. We both love eggs so of course we had to get something with eggs in our dish. My mom loved her avocado toast, and they were very generous with the avocado as well on there. The salad is a definite hit with us and included a great dressing on the side. The eggs were cooked perfectly on top of our toast and steak. The frites with my steak were crispy and seasoned well. I also loved the chimi sauce with my steak as well. The portion was huge so we were able to take some back home to enjoy another day. Overall, my mom and I had a great experience and would absolutely come back for another sip of their lattes and try another fun drink on their menu. We left with happy smiles and full stomachs, and can't wait to come back soon.

It's a brown sugar milk tea with caramel foam with a floating frozen milk tea bear. ADORABLE!! The set even includes two house-made cookies. WOW! TASTY!! (Important: Cash is not accepted. Bring card or contactless payment.) I arrived at Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) on Wednesday (around 10:21AM). Parking is very easy. The lot is big. However, Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) is very hidden. It has no visibility from the street! Staff is very professional and welcoming. Staff politely and cheerfully answered all my questions. Staff is very knowledgeable and accommodating. For example, the location does not have a paper menu; all the menus are accessed via QR Code. Fortunately, Staff let me borrow their iPad which allowed me to see the menu on a larger screen. When I'd arrived, Staff asked if I was dine-in or to-go. I was immediately seated. When I'd inquired about the boba. Staff honestly told me that they needed 15 additional minutes to prepare the boba. I brightly waited. All in all, after the 15 minute wait, the drink took an additional 10 minutes before being ready. As mentioned, I ordered the Boba Bear Set ($8.50). CUTE!!! It's a very aesthetic and memorable presentation. The boba pearls came perfect; they're bouncy, perky, and playful. The brown sugar milk tea mixed with the caramel foam tasted honey-like. It's very TASTY! My biggest nitpick is that the amount felt tiny. Still, it's a wonderful memory that I'm so happy to experience! On ambiance, Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) is comfortable and clean. There's about 13 interior tables, and there's six patio tables. The music is slow-tempo, and the tall ceiling made it feel spacious. In addition, Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) has utility. There's customer internet with password; details are available on the QR code menu. There's also about four electrical outlets. I also appreciated the self-service water station. There's also a gender neutral restroom in the back. Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) felt very hidden yet well-maintained. It's a lovely spot. Overall, I had a magical, memorable experience. I discovered AMAZING milk tea and many precious memories. If searching for someplace special, I happily recommend. 4.9 out of 5

Mother's Day Dining Experience To the Management Team,…read moreI am writing to share my recent experience at your establishment this past Mother's Day. As a long-time fan of your restaurant, this was one of my favorite places to dine; however, my experience during this visit was deeply disappointing due to a lack of communication and poor service standards. My primary concerns are as follows: Limited Menu Communication: Upon arriving, I was disappointed to find a restricted holiday menu that did not include the dishes I had specifically come for. While I understand the need for a limited menu on busy holidays, this should have been communicated to guests waiting outside. Waiting an hour to be seated only to realize the items I craved were unavailable was a significant letdown. Inattentive Service: Despite the restaurant not appearing to be at full capacity, the service was lacking. My father's meal arrived significantly later than the rest of the table's, and basic needs--such as coffee refills for my mother and water for the table--were never addressed. No one checked in to see if we were satisfied with our meal at any point. Gratuity Policy: Regarding the 18% gratuity for parties of six or more, I completely respect the policy in principle. However, when the service does not meet basic expectations, being told I must pay a specific dollar amount--in this case, $40--feels intrusive. I am someone who genuinely enjoys leaving generous tips in cash to reward good service; being forced to pay a set amount for a subpar experience felt less like a gratuity and more like an unjustified surcharge. I believe your establishment is capable of much better. I hope you take this feedback into account to ensure future holiday guests receive the transparency and quality of service that originally made me a loyal customer.

My group got there at 10AM on a Sunday, and there was no line/wait. I did see a line start to form outside the door around 10:40 AM. Parking was easy to find at this time. We ordered four dishes to share between three people: the silog breakfast bowl with tocino, poutine with longanisa, iloko moco, and Thai tea french toast. Portion size was good. We had some leftovers, which were enough for me to eat as my dinner later that day. My favorite was the poutine; it was so crispy and went well with the egg and longanisa! The only problem was that the tater tots got soggy after about 10 minutes so they were not as good afterward. The iloko moco and breakfast bowl were also good. For meats, i liked both the longanisa and tocino. The meats were flavorful and not too salty. I was not a fan of the Thai tea french toast because it was way too sweet for me. Menus are available via QR code at the table, though physical menus can also be requested. Service seemed a bit stretched, as there was only one gentleman handling seating, drinks, and orders, along with two kitchen staff members helping run food. Adobo Rice Omelet ($14.95): Garlic rice with chopped chicken adobo wrapped in a thin egg omelet, topped with adobo gravy, fried garlic, and scallions. The chicken was a little dry, and the gravy leaned saltier than I prefer. This isn't a dish I'd order again. Iloko Moco ($19.95): Country fried steak over garlic rice with two eggs, finished with adobo gravy, green onions, and fried garlic. This was definitely the standout dish for me. The chicken was crispy yet tender, and the thinly sliced Thai chilies offered on the side added a delicious kick. Ube Pancakes ($14.95): Two pancakes topped with ube sauce and garnished with shaved almonds, toasted coconut, and powdered sugar. The pancakes themselves were a bit chewy rather than fluffy, but the ube sauce was absolutely phenomenal and made the dish enjoyable overall. Lola's is located in the same plaza as Haven City Food Hall and GW Supermarket, with a shared parking lot for several businesses. Parking can get pretty crowded during peak hours and some spaces are on the tighter side.

Not very friendly and not really acknowledging the people that were standing waiting to be seated. Finally got a table, gave us menus and then 15 minutes go by and they haven't taken our order for drinks. As I look around there were 4 tables that had been seated, as well and no drink orders. We all waited about the same amount of time to get our drink orders. This unfortunately is why i took off 2 stars. To me, this unacceptable. After being seated and food came out, no one checked in until I needed a box and to pay. Did not feel welcomed and /or appreciated that I was supporting a small local business. Food- Brisket without the BBQ didn't have enough flavor. These types of meat don't need a hype man- the BBQ sauce. They need to be good on their own. Buuut Meat was tender. I read that their sausage is not great it's quite dry so I skipped it, my son had ordered ribs so I was going to steal from him, so I decided to get chicken- dark meat options. Chicken was very tasty, juicy and tender. It was the star of the dinner plate!!! Whaat!!! I expect that level of hardness on my rolls when they are about to expire. Warm them up put them in a basket and give me butter. Such a small - perhaps minute action- but it was a huge miss. Other patrons were also commenting how bad the rolls were. We even joked, "death by dinner roll! " LOL. Cornbread- small portion but packed with flavor. I would say ease up on the Honey.
