I have been eatting at Chris and pits since the 60,s and use to be very goid. I just went to the Bellflower restaurant yesterday and it was awful!! I ordered chicken and ribs with salad and beans. My chicken and rib was burnt and both dry. The beans are different and not good. Sadly the kitchen was dirty and the cook appeared sloooy. Our waitress was very good and didn't charge for my meal so I give her a Goood thoughtful waitress. Sadly I won't be going back. read more

I'm officially breaking up with Chris n Pitts. My meals have been hit or miss for years. We ate in tonight. I got the worse chocolate shake I've ever had in my life! It was literally watery. It tasted more like ovaltine or crappy chocolate milk. The only thing I still like is the garlic bread and salad. It's so sad. I've been a patron for as long as I can remember. Consistently delicious. Last night I enjoyed a medium cooked top sirloin and pork ribs, baked potato, salad with their incredible blue cheese dressing, toasted bread and au jus on the side. Steak cooked perfectly, juicy and tender. Ribs were smoky and tender. Also ordered the country fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy, their amazing beef barley soup, and toasted bread. So darn good, every time. Waitress are very busy but always take care of the customers very well. This place is a comfortable gem. read more

If you like BAD school cafeteria food, this is the place for you. Best thing about the place is their ranch! Food is just bad, tastes old! From Rib (beef and pork) to steak, spaghetti, to mashed potatoes, even the French fries, not good. BF and I Pretty much left everything. I Order a steak spit it back out. I've been eating ribs with Chris N Pitts BBQ sauce since I was a kid(my Mom wouldn't use anything else), but never went to one of their restaurants before. and considering how high my expectations were, they did not disappoint. I had spare ribs with garlic bread, mashed potatoes, and a salad with honey mustard dressing, and everything was spot on. Man has this place fell off. Took a friend for his bday and was embarrassed to say the least. No meat on the ribs, the chicken was so dry I had to wait for them to refill my drink. Baked potato's were raw. I hear the fork trying to mash the potato myself. The chili was cold and clumped, even the toast was soggy and hard to bite. Let's not forget why Chris & Pitt's has been around for so long.....food consistency remain on point. The chicken n rice soup even on a hot day is satisfying. Ample portions at reasonable prices... you can't go wrong. Parking is a bit challenging and the interior is showing it's age a bit but the food makes up for it. read more

My parents are fans of this place. To die for. Hard fans. They do not let go of this place. We've been going here as a family since I was little. My dad loves it because it's convenient and it's always empty for us but then customers really do start crowding it up. Their food is a decent tams or fantastic sams like. They are known for their bbq in which I never get. The fries are super big so I never finish them. Overall the food is decent! I got the fish plate and didn't get to take a pic but yeah! One of the most frustrating restaurant experiences I've had. We arrived at 5:35pm and after standing inside the door for about 5 minutes, one of the servers finally asked us to write our own name on the waitlist. The lady standing at the to go window couldn't be bothered to even acknowledge us. There were 2 parties ahead of us so I decided to use the restroom before being seated. I noticed there were 7 open booths so I expected to be seated quickly especially since the two parties ahead of us were seated by 5:40pm. We weren't seated until 6:00pm. Another 20 minute wait for a party of 2 with all of those open tables? Our server was very sweet and timely to earn the second star. Not sure if there was a manager on duty but no one was managing the check in or seating. We won't be back. read more

In the past I heard so many great things about this place so naturally when a friend suggested it for dinner I was excited. The menu is extensive I will give them that, there is so much to choose from it's hard to pick just one thing. It did take forever for our waiter to even take our order after bringing our drinks which was unfortunate because we were a party of 7 and came really hungry. We ordered our food which comes in really good portion however it left a lot to be desired. I ordered the sirloin steak and shrimp and my steak was tough and flavorless. I only tasted the char from the grill. My shrimp were basic dinner fried shrimp and I enjoyed them. Garlic bread was decent but didn't eat it all, the coleslaw had a nice sweetness to it that was a surprise and I really liked the mashed potatoes, yummy. My boyfriends beef ribs were also tough and hard to get off the bone, definitely not what you are looking for when eating ribs. I will say my daughters broiled chicken was tender and juicy and was delicious. My friend ordered a side of Mac n cheese and we were shocked that it took forever to come out and when it did, it was box Kraft Mac n cheese. *sigh* Decent but don't think we would be coming back but it was nice to try it after all these years. read more

Ambiance: Very old school with a cowboy touch to it, if you're too high class and can't level down then this place isn't for you. It has pictures of horses as well as the tools that are used for them on carriages and in there hooves. Love it!!! Food: First time here and I definitely love it!!! It was a garlic/pepper taste to the batter and makes a perfect pairing with their original bbq sauce. The half rack bbq beef ribs was off the hook!!! The beef was cooked perfectly and easy to chew. The beans that came with it was a so so, not a fan of it just wished it was bbq beans. The steak fries were yummy. The Texas bbq style sandwich, was decent it had a lot of meat such as, ham, beef and pork. Service: it was AWESOME, our waitress was nice, friendly and efficient. Wanted to give it a 2 1/2 but it wouldn't allow it, I guess. Met up w/ my friends because it was their hankering for ribs that took them there, yes, specifically at Chris & Pitts. Both ordered the beef ribs, which they prefer over the pork ribs. The sauce/marinade is good but the meat....not so meaty, not tender either. I personally would not patronize this establishment for their food but at the very least, their service is good, the server was friendly as well. It's basic, maybe it would've been a better rating if I had tried their pork ribs-which I prefer. It survived the pandemic, so there must be something to this place. My friend and I decided to go to Golden corral, but realized that there was a long line. Then all of a sudden we started to smell beef at Chris and Pitts. we didn't want to wait in line so we decided to come here for faster service. And I'm glad we did because the spaghetti over here tasted way better than any other restaurant spaghetti that I have ever eaten. Not only that, but it had a lot of meat sauce in it. Extra meaty! We drive from San Diego to Bellflower to eat at this restaurant. The food is I remember it back in Anaheim before they close that location top Sterling steak is great. The garlic bread is wonderful. This was our first visit here in many years. We usually go to the Whittier location. The exterior is so fun and kitschy. It is painted like a log cabin. The interior has wood paneling and taxidermy hanging on the walls. We came here right when they opened at 11am. The waitresses were friendly and welcoming as we entered. Service was fast and our ice tea was kept filled. I ordered the pork spareribs with a baked potato and a side salad with their amazing tangy French dressing. Just like I remember Chris and Pitts was awesome Smokey goodness covered in their signature bbq sauce. It was so good!! My son had the half chicken and rib luncheon. He enjoyed his voice and was kind to share a sample. The chicken was tender and flavorful. His beef rib was flavorful and tender. We both enjoyed our lunch and will be coming back soon!! I grew up eating at the Chis' & Pitt's in Anaheim on Euclid that is no longer there (RIP ). So, right or wrong, when I judge beef ribs or prime rib, it is against those I used to get at C&P. I favor them so much that I'm willing to drive to their Bellflower location just in order to get my fix. read more

The food is terrific. My friend had the chicken fried steak and it was huge and came with all the trimmings. I had a large cheese burger with steak fries! It was fantastic. You need to eat here and experience a legendary restaurant. I know it's not up to date, but that's ok. Stop being judgy and step back into time when life was slower and quite possibly better. And don't rate this as a traditional BBQ establishment. It is not. C and P is unique and wonderful. So go there and relax and meet the restaurant on its level- not your stereotypes. I have been eating here for 20+ years. We always get an order of the onion rings; it's a beer batter on them and I'd say it's my favorite onion ring around. My husband and I LOVE their bleu cheese dressing and get a side of it for our rings. And after going there for so long I just discovered yesterday on a local FB page that you can buy a glass jar of their dressings to go. SAY WHAT!?!? So I had to stop in.... And that I did. I got an order to go for dinner last night. I've only gotten food to go one other time and that was during the Pandemic. I think the food is best eaten there. I got my usual steak sandwich which I get 99% of the time... sadly it wasn't as good as it normally is. Plus they put thousand island dressing on it. What the heck!!? They have NEVER put it on there before in all the times I've ordered it so I'm not sure what was up with that. I know this for a fact because I am not a fan of 1000 island except for two places (the burger spread at INO and the creamy 1000 at Pancho's - but those are different reviews). Haha!
