Wow! Our friend was visiting from Ohio and decided to do the "tasting menu". They should call it "foodie heaven". Everything was delicious! We came here as a party of 6 tor the prefixed dinner over the holidays. I hate to say, but I feel like the food was fine but nothing spectacular. I got the soup to start and it tasted like any other tomato soup Ive had. The fish entrée was well cooked and the skin was crispy on the outside with good flavor although the fish was just lukewarm. I'm not sure if that's how it was intended to be. For dessert I got the chocolate soufflé which on the menu. It even says that is not the chefs favorite but it says it's everyone else's favorite . It wasn't my favorite either even though I'm a big chocolate person. We had a beautiful view of the valley, and the service was amazing. Everything was absolutely beyond amazing. The food was perfect, literally wouldn't have changed a thing and you get a really good amount for what the price is, in my opinion. The views are gorgeous and the ambiance matches the experience they strive to give you. The real star of Christopher's, though, is the service. From the minute you walk in, you're treated like a VIP guest. Christopher himself, the executive chef, comes over and talks to every table like he's known them forever; he even made it a point to come and thank us as we left. I can say this is the Pinnacle of what a restaurant should be. Christopher is the world's most finest Chef. The Duck was the best I have eaten world wide. Never had I had some of his appetizers but in comparison to the restaurants in France I was told were the best, Christopher's bested all of them. A special occasion made the best by Basil and Gary . Christopher's staff is utmost professional and cator to make you feel you at your family's best meal ever. The steak was fantastic thick hot and rare like we asked. Desserts were one of a kind. Wow. Absolutely blown away by our experience there last night. Everything was PERFECT. Starting with the place itself it is absolutely beautiful. You get a panoramic view of the valley. It's small maybe only seating 20-30 people and for good treason with what they are dining there. Mid way through the meal I walked to the bathroom and laughed at how nice that experience was even. I won't ruin it by describing it but just use the restroom once while you are there. The service was OUTSTANDING. I was/am severely jet lagged so I can't remember her name but she was just absolutely amazing. The whole service staff was so professional and nice and were great with their descriptions of each dish. As a former server myself I know the type of passion for what you do you have to have to serve at this level and you can feel how much they care about you having a great experience. The food. Wow. I have been kind of over tasting menus not because they aren't good but they too often lack soul in the flavor of the food and because of that don't feel like a good value but this was on the absolute opposite of that scale. Every single dish we had was a 10. Absolutely mind blowing. The duck, the shrimp, the wagyu, the scallops all were cooked perfectly with amazing pairings with other ingredients and beautiful presentations. I believe they said they had a "Sauce Master" and I would like to give that person a hug and a kiss because every sauce we had was so jaw droppingly good and complex and had such a depth of flavor that I wanted to lick my plate clean. Speaking of the plates they in themselves are an absolute work of art and were just as beautiful as the food. Truly beautiful such ware. The way they provide you with silverware is really cool as well but I won't ruin the surprise. I am afraid one day you will have to be on an 8 month waiting list for this place as it's that good. Every second of this meal was memorable. The views and atmosphere felt very special. The service was attentive, impeccably timed and personable. Despite it being a fine dining experience, nothing felt stuffy or formal. It was joyful, playful, and elegant. There were delightful -sometimes interactive - surprises along the way. I'm so glad I got to experience this restaurant! The service was impeccable and the food was amazing. Each course had something that delighted me. My favorites were the wild mushroom and foie gras soup and the wagyu. So delicious. It definitely felt special and lived up to its price point. And the view was amazing as well. My reservation was for 6:30 and so I got to watch the sunset. Beautiful. I must say, this is a stark contrast to my experience at Binkley's. It made me realize even more how lacking that place was compared to Christopher's. I looked at the negative reviews. Heaven There are many different kitchens in Phoenix restaurants but when you get to Heaven -- and this IS heaven, you will know it. Christopher's at The Wrigley Mansion is as close as one gets to Heaven, in The Biltmore, in Scottsdale, in Phoenix or CA. Both geographically and gastronomically. I know, I know, there's a fairly large Wrigley sign, but I was distracted looking for a STREET SIGN! So, if the City of Phoenix chooses not to provide a street sign that says, "E. Telewa Trail", maybe Geordie can put in a call. Just a thought...12 years overdue.] First of all, it IS Heaven. It's above Phoenix, see the view photo. Second, the view at sunset. See photo. Perhaps I loved this wine excessively because the last rose' I had was 100 years ago, but why over analyze? I LOVED the rose'. Service was impeccable. All individuals I met during the meal were helpful, hospitable, pleasantly professional. I spoke with the Chef at least half a dozen times during the evening. Christopher is clearly in another world, focused on his craft. 10,000 hours? Yeah. 25 years ago. Christopher is present, converses easily, the very opposite of a pompous, yelling chef. I can't come up with the superlatives I want; none are good enough. It's beyond being impressed. It's over the moon... The Doggie bag: as you depart, a doggie bag with candies, a monogrammed napkin and a loaf of bread is presented. I hate to say it but I would have preferred the monogrammed butcher smock... This, as you walk past The James Beard Award. Don't ever say it doesn't matter. Eat at this restaurant: it matters. He matters. Price? "If ya gotta ask..." It's expensive, no doubt. But just so you'll know, Guy Savoy's tasting menu in Vegas is DOUBLE Christopher's price. Please don't say anything. Plan on two hours. It goes fast. And you'll be sorry it does. There is this German word, "schadenfreude". It means "...the malicious joy one might take in another's misfortune". This meal was to be our capstone event of our stay in Scottsdale. Here's our takeaways: - on arrival there was no one to greet us, not as our car dropped us off, nor at the tiny host stand that I apparently walked right past - the server offers us a wine list and was unaware we prepaid the wine pairings - they pour a complimentary mini cocktail, but in wheeling the cart over, it banged the back of my chair - we order a pre service glass of sparkling, but sat w our amuse bouche and carpaccio for awhile and still needed to flag someone for our sparkling - the 'surprise' of uni custard and caviar was nice, but needed a contrasting texture - I could've done without the schtick of 'chilling' the glasses tableside w liquid nitrogen and splashing the table, window of the restaurant w the remaining liquid nitrogen - day boat scallop, lobster, and related pairings were nice but I detested the silverware drawer in the table. You're supposed to get your own silverware, from a drawer that pulls into your chest, waist, or you scoot in and out every time you need silverware? Mind you I couldn't see behind me and already had a cart bump me. If they'd just turn the table 90 degrees and have the drawer open on the left, it'd work - the foie 'soup'...oof...the foie was hard to cut w a spoon, was a bit sinewy, and I struggled with the madeira pairing w it. The alcohol burn that early in the meal was just alot to take and it seemed to compete w the dish - the duck and the pairing were lovely but the gastrique had sat on the plate long enough to form a skin, the truffles had zero flavor tho - the wagyu was nice, the 'make your own bernaise' was cute and the cab pairing was, as you'd expect, very nice - the epoisses...i love epoisses and the Parmesan ring was a nice texture add. The mini salad tho w sherry vinaigrette and the pairing of chenin blanc again felt more of a fight w the dish - the palette cleanse of sorbet was a jolt rather than cleanse, crazy sweet - the mille-feuille was more like a tart cracker and the strawberries were oddly tasteless - milk choc tower was nice, as were the sweets at the end I had a hard time knowing when runners or servers were coming and it always felt like I was doing something wrong...could I move the bread plate a little, could I move back from sipping my wine, I just didn't know what was happening behind me (and all the more reason for me to not me moving my chair around to fish for silverware) Our server hated us and they switched servers, we mostly had the somm. My friend said servers glared and pointed at us. Apparently we raised a stir w the silverware drawer hoohah - w wine pairings, I tend to accumulate glasses, even on small pours, and I'll play around w diff profiles or come back to them. One of the servers pointed at my glasses and asked "what of all these glasses can I take? Obviously this one..." as she picks up an empty. I thought that was soooo rude. I always line the progression of remaining glasses (in their original order) and move to the far left what I'm done w . And honestly I appreciated that madeira more later in a diff context - chef owner did a table touch, he was super, super nice - the view is spectacular - a bit of warning...there's only 1 single use bathroom for the entire restaurant - it's clearly a special occasion restaurant, lots of those sparkler things on a 'bonus' dessert for most tables For the $1,300 cost, some things hit but too many didn't. It all could've felt different but it started clunky and never recovered. No greeting. Not knowing we prepaid the wine pairing. Sitting without our starter glass of sparkling, The silverware drawer. All put us in a bad place and there was nothing special enough to overcome that thru the meal. Too many other culinary travel choices, esp at this budget. read more

This was our first time returning to Wrigley since the renovation. The views, as always, are absolutely stunning. Christopher's new intimate space takes full advantage of this! The service from beginning to end was exceptional. I ordered the smoked salmon with greens--it was delightful. I don't remembering eating such fresh tasting salad greens in ages. For the main course, the beef wagyu with barley and Brussel sprouts. We got a side of scalloped potatoes to share. My cut of beef was very generous and ordered medium rare as recommended cut and melted in my mouth like butter. The barley side was amazing, but a small criticism is that other than adding color to thr plate the brussel sprouts didn't add anything to the plate. The wine pours were all adequate. For dessert, my husband ordered a delicious cheese dessert while I ordered a soufflé. I recommend the cheese dessert--excellent selections. Overall, we were so pleased with every box being checked--food, service and ambiance--that we booked our return for Christmas week with the rest of our family!! read more

We went to Christopher's last night and really enjoyed the classic tasting menu. This menu is prepaid at $100/pp and is 4 courses. The menu is very approachable for an average person and has some unique items for the more adventurist. I had the Maine Lobster bisque and the amount of lobster was amazing! My husband had the melted goat cheese salad and it was lovely. My son had the foie gras terreine and it was almost too much (is this possible) foie gras for him. Way too much for the amount of bread offered. The main courses - holy moly! My scallops were almost the size of my palm and MELTED in my mouth! The venison - I could cut with my fork! My son had the lamb sweet breads and he said they were amazing! We opted for the seared foie gras as a special treat. I have never tasted something so amazing!!! Dessert was equally delicious and I was so happy they had chocolate on the dessert menu - so many fine dining places do not have chocolate for dessert and that's something I prefer. On the down side - the coffee we had for dessert was the worst, most bitter stuff I have ever tried to have. I could not drink it The mushrooms on my son's dinner were not properly cleaned and were gritty. The soup was a tad too salty, but that could have been me. We sat on the patio and the heaters were spectacular! It was lovely to sit outside and watch the bats flying around and see the lights in the city. The bathroom is a MUST visit! Fantastic experience. We are a family of 5 Valley natives and this was one of the best dining experiences we have had here in the valley! Having dined at Christopher's when he was at the Biltmore we expected nothing less. However this new restaurant has the views and the modern vibe that make it hard to beat. The dishes on the Wednesday night menu were all delicious, so good we broke all good form and tried bites of one another's dishes. Not one miss! We added the seared foie Gras, au gratin and a side of mushrooms, all fabulous. My only suggestion would be the ice for my cocktail was ordinary cubes, that would be for the adjacent bar that makes them. This was my first, and won't be last visit. A person that I formerly supervise was retiring and I wanted to take her somewhere special; I chose Christopher's at the Wrigley's Mansion. It's a prepaid meal and I chose to do the Classic Menu on the patio. I will say this, I thought when you sat there you could actually watch the sunset, this isn't the place to do that at. You will need to make reservations at Geordie's. Next time I go there, that's probably were I end up making reservations for dinner; stunning views watching the sunset. The prepaid meal consist of a 3 courses. I posted the menu so you could see the choices at this time; it is subject to change. For my 1st course, I had the House Smoked Scottish Salmon; the salmon was cut thinly and just the right amount to start off your meal. The salmon comes on top of a "crusty" piece of bread. Nice and crunchy; goes with the vinaigrette well. For my 2nd course I chose to get the Poached Main Lobster Salad, I suggest you do as well; it was delicious. The butter sauce that it was bathed in, was delicious; salty and creamy. They paired it well with the field greens. I will say this, I ate my lobster separate from my salad. The sauce was just too delicious to have it mixed with anything else. Of course, my final course was the Dessert Course...hmmm...chocolate you say, why yes, yes please. The Chocolate Tower was delicious. I missed the expresso sauce but that's OK, the chocolate mousse was just fine on its own. The moose was wrapped in a sheet of white chocolate and milk chocolate, it wasn't too "crumbly" and it just melted in your mouth. It was plated lovely but ended up moving it, so there's a little bit of stuff to the left of the plate from the fall. Finally, the staff were just awesome. Constantly checking on you, making sure your glass was full. My compliments to them, very professional and attentive. Oops, I did have one cocktail, it was a 1919 it was delicious. I would have liked another but I guess they were out of their "concoction" to make it. All in all if you're just looking for a very elegant dining experience or want to celebrate something special, I would choose Christopher's. Of course if you want to see the sunset, you do have to go to Geordie's. I will say this the skyline out of Christopher's is beautiful (see photo) and you do catch the mountains colors as it goes down. Also, if you sit down inside Christopher's, on the very edge, I do think you can catch the setting sun but I did actually sit on the patio. I actually didn't even know there was this beautiful of a restaurant at the Wrigley Mansion and now that I know, I will be making it my go to place for celebrations. ONE CAVEAT: When you drive onto the grounds of the Mansion, over the red/white bridge there are 2 lower parking lots that you can park at BUT know that you're going to have a hike up stairs to get to the top. You can as you drive over the bridge, stay to the left, past the 2 parking lots on right,, and follow the signs (Christopher's) around the mansion (it's got curves) to the top where the doors for Christopher's and Geordie's have a valet right outside for you. If you have a fear of heights, as you drive up, on the passenger side, there is a little steep drop but just keep your eyes on the drive, you'll be fine. read more

He has a great sense of humor - he shared that there is a Michelin rated restaurant in France and food is great. But people only remember that the roof opens up. When Chef Gross designed his restaurant, he made sure to have a roof that opened up so people will remember both the food + open roof. I will start by saying the food was mostly good. A few odd things that did not makes sense. The lamb dish is excellent. But the rating is to unequivocally make it clear, dinner here is NOT worth the price. Not even close. There are so many misses it is stunning! I am just going to list them from start to end: -Valet opens door for driver and not for me in the passenger side. -Valet with No "welcome" or guidance where to go for first timers. -Minor thing, but hostess asking for reservation name, then spending time looking for it to confirm. You should know and that's it. Be ready for your guests. -Really poor intro to the menu, the service and the plan for the evening. -No bottled water available apparently? -Wine pairing is a total rip off! Very small pour, 2 oz maybe? -Server/s not really professional or polished. Lots of odd talk, other like "do you want some bread to slop up the sauce" - just not right! -Food served sometimes to me first, sometimes to husband first. -Weird silverware drawer at table thing. I guess trying to be cute, but spent half the dinner asking for more silverware (getting wrong silverware). Makes zero sense! -Plates taken before we were done or as last bite be taken. -table never cleaned of crumbs or spills -a wine pourer to prevent dripping is cheap...how in the world do you not have these. We had spills/drips on almost every pour. -Coffee cups with no handles, so you burn your hands. While the food was good in general it was lacking: -the wagyu while good, was definitely not up to par!! The presentation on a heated stone is juvenile and needs to go away! The meat was unevenly cooked. Just put nice steak slices on the plate and pour the bernaise over it. The meat did not look or taste A5 quality. -small thing, but score the cherry tomatoes so they don't burst on people -the oddest thing was the very lame greens added to the cheese croquette dish. Bad greens, terrible dressing, but mostly just doesn't go with the dish! Should have add something fruit like (cranberry) or at least cranberry dressing on the greens. But nice greens, not the terrible things served. -truffles in the tortellini--ZERO flavor! You got screwed chef! Those were the worst truffles ever! The dish would have been amazing if they had proper flavor. Ok....that's my list. My point is when you pay that much for dinner (almost $1300); it needs to be flawless or pretty darn close. We have had better service at normal places around town at 1/6 the cost! Shoot, Kai at Wildhorse Pass is exponentially better and costs less. Where to begin? Well, we wound up here on Mother's Day because my dear husband mistakingly thought he was making on-line reservations for four at Wrigley Mansion for their buffet. The pre-paid $$$$$ to secure our reservation should have been the tip off. Upon our arrival at the main entrance we were graciously ushered out the door to a new restaurant by our adorable hostess gushing how we would "not be disappointed"! Well, she was right! The restaurant is sleek, very upscale, very chic, very classy but not at all arrogant; rather it is warm and elegant and exudes graciousness. The daily menu was explained to us; mimosa, Bellini, champagne juice cart appeared and the gastronomique began! It was an 8 course meal whereby each guest was served the same for 6 of the courses with the main course and dessert course having two options from which to choose. Initially I found myself wondering if we would be served sufficient amounts as the courses were in some cases just a bite or two. Not to worry! By the time our main courses were served we were all "stuffed" and pleasantly so. The food was amazingly delicious (even though some courses were foods we had never tried), the presentations were artistic, and the wait staff pleasant, accommodating and professional. Christopher Gross stopped by tableside and again thanked us as we left. One in our psris vegan and each course was specially prepared (although in a few cases such as out wonderfully succulent lobster salad, the vegan option seemed like poor substitute). So the question is, would we go again? Yes, but most likely when I was in the mood for such aplomb. The roses and gift bags (baguette, chocolates, signature dish towel and water) were a very nice parting gesture. Note: having nine grandkids 15-5, I would highly suggest leaving the kiddies at home. We are longtime residents of the valley and used to eat at Christopher's when Chef had a restaurant in the Biltmore shopping plaza. We were so excited to hear that he was opening up a small, intimate venue at the Wrigley Mansion. We went to dinner to celebrate a special occasion on a night of Christopher's Classics. To say that the evening was spectacular is an understatement! The intimate setting is perfect for a special occasion, a date night or an evening with great friends. The entire staff is friendly, conscientious, attentive, warm and professional yet down to earth. We loved watching the open-air kitchen prepare our delectable dishes. The food is absolutely to die for. Each dish is unique, creative and gorgeous. The flavors are divine. We had scallops, the filet and the duck...every single bite melted in the mouth like butter. Insider tip...go for the shaved truffles and the scalloped potatoes as add ons! When it came to dessert my all-time favorite is a souffle. I have heard amazing things about the souffle at Christopher's, so I knew I had to have it...no matter how full I already was. Let me tell you it absolutely exceeded expectations. It is probably the best souffle I have ever eaten...and I have eaten them at every restaurant I have been to that serves them. There is a choice of chocolate and Grand Marnier....I chose the Grand Marnier. It was tall, fluffy, gorgeous, light and every bite melted in the mouth. The presentation was so fun. We loved the special happy birthday plate with the most delicious chocolate mousse cake and to top it off...a festive celebratory sparkler...that brings you back to days of being a kid in the summertime! Cristopher's has tanked when it comes to food and service at its events and bar area at Wrigley Mansion. It used to be amazing when it was in the Biltmore Fashion Plaza! We attended the drive by jazz event tonight. It is very misleading. 6pm to 8pm... right? Well, no! They only seat your party for one hour. 6pm to 7pm and then you are shuffled out the door for the next group... 7pm to 8pm. The event felt like a hotel room you rent by the hour! We ordered 2 bottles of pricey wine and an extremely weak charcuterie board. Our bill was approx $500 and we did not have time to finish our first bottle of wine and the second bottle was not even served before we were being shuffled out the door like a cheap cruise ship. The service was below average at the event, but when they moved our table's unfinished food and wine to the bar, the service got even worse. By the way, they added a 20 percent tip for a table of 4 to the bill without mentioning it to us at the jazz hour. The service we received in the bar area was horrible - even though we always tip at least 20 percent, the younger, heavier set woman with glasses and longer hair pulled back was very rude and non attentive. All 4 of us agreed that no one seemed to like their jobs there. Not one of our servers were friendly or stayed at the table long enough for you to finish your sentence. We ordered 2 hamburgers that were good, a flavorless mussels dish, an apple crisp, an odd log sticky desert and two glasses of port. Someone needs to take a lesson from Zinc Bistro fast on the mussels or just take the dish off the menu. Overall, we spent between the 2 couples $700+ (PLUS $100 deposit for the jazz seats?) in less than a VERY rushed 2 hours for poor service, a drive-thru jazz session and extremely average food! The wine was good, but a bit over-priced. Sadly, the venue's hamburger was the star of the show. How ironic... a beautiful mansion's shining light on this night was a hamburger. All 4 if us agreed that this was a smash and grab experience and we will not be retuning to this local tourist trap. AGAIN... the servers had horrible attitudes - this was the most surprising part of the night for us. I have read the other reviews and it seems the restaurant dining experience is the better alternative for positive reviews.
