Came here on a hot day for spicy fish. AC was on pretty strong so I could enjoy my spicy food without sweating. The waitress was nice and attentive to us contrary to some of the reviews here saying the service here is bad. We ordered a spicy grilled fish (forgot which kind we picked) and ChongQing spicy beef dish. For the grilled fish, we also added some veggies. It comes in a metal stove top thing so the fish stays hot. The portions for this place is pretty generous and the price isn't bad. The flavors were good but not as spicy as I'd like even though you can adjust to your palate. You can also ordered spicy mala pot in the front and select your ingredients. I've ordered this for takeout and while it is more expensive than the spot I usually order from, I do think the taste is better. They fry most of the ingredients before stir frying in spice so there is more depth to its flavors. Price is by weight. I notice they also have snail noodles on the menu, which is the first time I've seen restaurants with this dish on the menu. Im interested in trying this next time.

Mala cravings satisfied! Eat it while it's still piping hot. You'll be happy even when the sweat is rolling down your face and your lips are numbing from the spice. Options for dry pots by the pound, stews, and glass noodle soups. Call by phone ahead of time, they tend to get busier with many take out orders.

The service was pretty good. The server didn't really speak English and unfortunately I don't speak mandarin, but we had a positive interaction nonetheless. We did not have a hard time conversing as I was able to understand mandarin and respond in English, while she was able to understand English and respond in mandarin. Once you want in, you need to walk to the front to let the employee know if you will be sitting in or ordering to go. If you decide to sit in, you are able to select your own booth as she grabs you a menu. She will bring you the menu to check off what you would like. If you want to get a drink, it's easier to ask when she is there or go up to the front and grab it from the fridge, or ask her to grab it for you if she is at the front. They don't check up on you too often, which I prefer, and if you ever need anything you can raise your hand or go to the front. The food was okay. The sweet and sour beef wasn't that great. It's mildly spicy, but when you eat a fish tofu (the ones that soak up water), the spice just hits you as you bite down on the fish tofu and it is spicyyyyyyy and very sour. But if you're just eating the beef and drinking some of the soup it isn't that bad. I thought it would taste something similar to sweet and sour pork, or sweet and sour chicken, but it was so different. Hardy comparable. And it is way more sour than sweet, so if you don't like sour foods, don't try it! Also pretty sure it gave me an uncomfortable stomach for a couple days The spicy seafood noodles, beef noodles, and beef skewers were good! Pretty typical and what I expected. Tl;dr - their noodle dishes and skewers and good. Their sweet and sour beef was not it.

I have been craving for Szechuan Mala Xiang Guo. This place fixed my craving very well. You basically just walk to the counter and choose meats, seafoods and veggies. They will weigh and ask your prefer spicy level. The food came out quick and delicious. Me and my cousin had a great dinner.

Our Dry hotpot. Right on point.

it's been too long so I last numbed all my tastebuds with spice at a place like this…read more - walking up to the an unassuming outside in an area not entirely known for this cuisine, I was interested why the reviewers were so good - the restaurant is deceivingly large as its thin but goes deep in the back. we started with their banger of a happy hour and got $9 spritzes & jasmine lychee martinis. the martini tasted like a sweet tea turned boldly alcoholic. very fun. I next just got a regular lychee martini, which was much less sweet & a perfect drink #2 - we started with the pork dumplings which had such a complex sauce. it looked like a basic chili oil but there was a tangy vinegar and a sweet aftertaste that balanced out the numbing spice. the dough was so chewy & thick, I loved. - the cold eggplant was very garlic forward & naturally ofc coated in spice. it's a large serving of the same vegetable but we ate every piece - we split the tofu & fish entree. this was insane, the same base and consistency as mapo tofu. incredibly rich and flavorful with light large chunks of silken tofu & battered fried soft fish. the fish absorbed so much of the sauce, which honestly I was eating by the spoonful.

The three pepper fried tofu was also delicious, I enjoyed the variety of texture in this dish and how well seasoned it is. I did try some of the chicken and it did taste a bit gamey so that would be my only note. Overall food was great and service was attentive.

It was full on a Tuesday evening, so reservations are a must. Service was friendly and very good. Great cocktail and drinks menu. The food was outstanding. For entree: Mushroom Fried Rice (7/10), Pork Belly (10/10) and Spicy Fried Fish (with spiciness reduced to medium on my request) (10/10). I would highly recommend and we will be back.

We wanted to go to a dumpling place in Chinatown, but we're running late and decided to cancel. This place looked good while we were walking around...and I'm so glad we were late because it was absolutely excellent We ordered: Crab soup buns: 7/10 standard Spicy cumin lamb: 100/10 may have been the best I ever had in my life????!! Curiously tasty chicken: 9/10 we didn't realize this was also cumin. It was super tender and juicy, but the flavor was too similar to the cumin lamb. So if you're choosing between both, go for the lamb As a table of 2 this was way more than enough food with leftovers. Perfect place to get shareable with friends for a quick bite without any reservations even on a weekend, with the flexibility of a communal table too.

The food is why we are all here and this place did not miss! We sat at the bar because we didn't have a reservation and it was a Sunday night. We were told the specials for the night with great detail, we snagged one of the last soup dumplings and they are incredible. The only other place I've had soup dumplings as good is in flushing - that's high praise from this queens girl. Next up we ordered the scallion pancakes - which ruined all other scallion pancakes for me. They were ultra crispy and flaky. The dipping sauce was deeply flavorful and the portion was perfect. We also ordered the chicken wantons that came in a chili crisp oil and peanut sauce, delicious. The pork noodles were the secret star because the description was pretty straight forward. But my partner is a chef and insisted we get them. They were some of the best noodles I've ever had. Definitely made in house and they were coated in a flavorful sauce. The crispy garlic chicken was so good that I had to take it to go because we were stuffed, still amazing the next day. The bartender with the cool tattoos that gave me extra coconut candies, you are truly amazing and really made us feel well taken care of. Can't wait to come back and try mo
