I had a very disappointing experience at this all-you-can-eat Japanese BBQ restaurant. Before we were seated, we politely asked the front desk if our party could be split into two tables. Despite the restaurant having the availability, they refused and insisted on seating all of us at one table. The hostess also had a very rude attitude from the moment we arrived, which immediately made us feel unwelcome. As the meal went on, many of the food items were running out. We asked multiple times for refills, but they were never replenished, which is unacceptable for an all-you-can-eat restaurant. To make matters worse, when the bill came, they automatically added gratuity for our large party. We asked to speak with the manager because of the poor service throughout the evening, hoping they would at least acknowledge our concerns. Instead, the manager was just as dismissive and rude as the front desk staff and made no effort to resolve the situation or make things right. Overall, the customer service was terrible from start to finish, the food service did not live up to the "all-you-can-eat" experience, and management showed no interest in customer satisfaction. I would not recommend this restaurant and will not be returning.

Stopped here tonight with the family. It was my first time here and I must say this place was amazing. My compadre was the one who showed me this place and we decided to finally try it tonight. The food: 1000/1000 we went with the gold option and it was amazing. So many wonderful cuts of Waygu beef and the recommendations from our server were great: we also had the sides and I must say the Waygu burger was so good, I can see why it would run out really fast. The deserts were so good and lots of amazing options. I enjoyed the unlimited beverages as well. Service: top notch service, our server was Tyler and he went above and beyond for our party. He made sure our experience was an excellent one. He was kind, courteous and you can tell he takes pride in his work. The inside was very nice and clean, this used to be another restaurant back in the days so it was nice to come back to my old stepping grounds. Drove over 60 miles to come here and I will definitely be coming back. Thank you Tyler for the hospitality.

Chubby Cattle is a place of variety, indulgence and quality, a good treat. You can eat self prepared BBQ meats and refreshing sushi options at the same time. Obviously the quality is great, they have many premium options including waygu beef all you can eat. The service was good from our host, positive attitude and welcoming, until he started to mention their membership and if we wanted to join five times after saying no. Earlier we called to get information before arriving and they can't even have a staff member answer the call, an AI bot was struggling to assist and answer our questions. Everything is ordered on a tablet. The amount of self service at this restaurant is nauseating, considering the price to dine in. You can order every 7 minutes until time is up. Ambiance is active and the upbeat music playlist is about at a medium volume. The experience is streamlined to get you in and out, I was not a fan of the constant badgering to join their membership, especially at checkout. There is an egregious amount of self service that could be handled by staff, for the price range, having everyone run around each other to grab drinks and grab items from the cold bar and other self service areas is strange. Located on the first floor by Target at the Topanga mall, parking in the structure.

I got the gold tier, it was a nice option to try the "tasting experience" as it was our first time, but honestly could have done without it. This place is more on the pricier side, but for the silver tier, it's a solid opt. There were a few items on the menu that we tried that we did not like at all, it had to be taken away lol but there were a lot of items we did enjoy! Our server nick was knowledgeable and friendly. This is a type of restaurant where you order through the tablet and the food comes to your table, the server does come around often to check in on you and to change the grills. Jasper was also really good at taking away any of our empty/ dirty dishes every time he dropped off food. When I first arrived, I was trying to get the host attention so that I could get checked in but she is not welcoming and bit rude. She is constantly looking down at her tablet then walking away. Then just calls whoever is next on the tablet, not acknowledging anyone new coming in! Me and another guest were so confused we had to flag her down to get checked in which is so odd. I've never been to a restaurant where a host made us feel like we are an inconvenience to her!! Anyway,after we did check in, we had to wait another 20 mins or so for our table to be ready. Lowkey being added to the wait yourself vs reservation seems like the same wait time which defeats the purpose of a reservation.

As a huge fan of Chubby Cattle, I am incredibly disappointed to say that this specific location has been a miss ever since it opened. I've given it three chances now, and each visit has been a poor experience. After my most recent visit, I felt compelled to finally write a review. We ordered the highest tier (Diamond), expecting a premium experience, but our server, Kai, was completely rude and unprofessional. Throughout the night, he barely checked on us or cleared our plates. Instead, he repeatedly approached our table just to scold us about having only 30 minutes left. When last call approached, we placed a larger order to wrap up our meal. Kai came over and lectured us about the size of the order, warning us that we would have to pay for leftovers even though we ended up finishing absolutely everything. When we tried to put in one final item before the system even shut down, he arbitrarily told us he was canceling it because we "couldn't order anymore." It is incredibly frustrating to be paying customers spending over $600, only to be spoken to so disrespectfully about ordering food during valid service hours. To top it off, after dropping off the check and taking our payment, we went to get dessert. Kai approached us yet again and told us we needed to leave, essentially kicking us out of the restaurant. We've been to so many Chubby concepts and never have once been treated like this.

We've been here a total of two times and each time has been amazing! We had Nick and Kai serving us and they've been amazing. Always checking in on us, making sure we get the best service, and just vibed with them. They're so easy to chat up. It's more expensive than your AYCE experience but it's really worth it especially for special occasions. It's a sit down upscale JBBQ spot and while I love their meats, I think about their lobster roll, Wagyu slider, and carpaccio the most alongside their unlimited milk tea and egg tarts. Next time we come, we hope we get to run into Nick and Kai again! They both work really hard and the quality of their service definitely shows.

Last night me and my boyfriend wanted to get KBBQ and we're deciding between a place in West Hills and here. We ultimately decided to try Chubby Cattle because of the extra things that come with it, especially the dessert station. Our server was really attentive and friendly despite having to go through 3 iPads because each one did not work. It made ordering longer which was frustrating because you only get a certain amount of time to order. The meat itself was pretty good and the sushi was alright. What was the most disappointing was that the reason why we chose this place - the dessert station, was completely empty. We asked three different people and waited twenty minutes and there was still absolutely nothing in it. It was unfair to pay the whole price for something that did not include the whole package. It seems like this happens a lot to and for this reason, I wouldn't trust it enough to pay for the whole thing upfront and not get the entire menu offered.

We were here a couple months ago, and tonight we are back to celebrate my hubby's birthday...and yes, I'm happy happy to say service is 100% on point, super nice and helpful. I also learned tonight, just in case if you were wondering...On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays it is only Walk-In no reservations...wait time varies, but Mon thru Thursday you can make reservations and also do walk-in's. We still love the choices from the digital menu, and totally enjoyed the birthday jingle surprise!! OH! I love love their Earl Grey roll cake!! I had 2 slices!! (Gasp)! It's totally fun inside! Delicious food and stellar service! Absolutely worth the wait and the price. This was my first time dining at Chubby Cattle, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. There's a variety of meat to choose from, from rich and savory wagyu to thinner briskets. All meat is very high quality cuts, taste amazing even without sauce. The sushi was just OK to me. Some of the rice was undercooked and so randomly crunchy in some parts, and the taste of the fish was just acceptable. The hand rolls were pretty good, though. Love the assortment of sides and appetizers to choose from, and the self service drinks, salads, desserts, and sides. There's even dim sum! And the slushies are so good. I actually didn't like the milk tea much, too creamy and sweet for me, but YMMV. There's just so much to eat and drink here, and the portions are just right. Loved the ambiance and the service. The only drawback was the wait time (quite long on a weekend for lunch) and the fact that it got super smoky in the area we sat. Even the restrooms were noticeably smoky. However, our table and others in the area were moved to a section with significantly better ventilation. It seems like ventilation could be a recurring issue here, but they also seem to be aware of it and can shift your table somewhere better if it gets too smoky. Overall, highly recommend this place!

Chubby Cattle in Woodland Hills, located inside the Westfield Topanga Mall, is a super fun and elevated Korean BBQ-style experience featuring Japanese wagyu. It's easy to get to, on the bottom floor, next to Target. It gets super busy, so make sure to go super early to put your name down. Oh! And make sure you come hungry. The atmosphere is modern, lively, and upscale compared to your typical KBBQ. You're given a set dining time, and there's also a 7-minute window in which you can place each order, which can feel a little stressful at first since you're trying to decide, order, cook, and eat all at once. I took a few pictures but we probably had 30 more plates and with the time constraints, it was hard! We went with the Silver Tier, and it was amazing. The quality of the meat was excellent, especially the Japanese wagyu, which was rich, tender, and full of flavor. Everything we ordered tasted high quality and well worth it. There's also a walk-up area where you can grab extras like fresh vegetables, curry, soup, corn/sweet potato with cheese, desserts, and even a wagyu hamburger, which we heard was delicious. The milk teas were also really good and a nice pairing with the meal. The experience can feel a bit overwhelming at first, but our server Tyler was incredible. He helped us put in our first order, gave great recommendations, and made sure we understood how everything worked. His attentiveness really made the experience smooth and enjoyable. Overall, Chubby Cattle is a unique, high-quality wagyu BBQ experience that's definitely worth trying. Just be ready for a fast-paced start - and if you get Tyler, you're in great hands! Chubby Cattle is beautifully decorated, well serviced, and has delicious food. I probably won't go again. The good - all the food was fresh with plenty of variety. Buffet options were great too. There a rice machine that serves exactly the amount of rice you want, like R2D2 scooping your portion. I really liked the wagu stew and all the meats. I would skip the sushi. The bad - the dining experience, while fun, was not relaxing at all. There is a timer that counts down like a game show, ticking time bomb. When the timer finishes, you order your limited number of dishes and the timer stars again. It feels like a game show to maximize your orders rather than tasting a variety of beautifully aged fatty meats. The restaurant itself is clean but very congested. I would recommend checking it out, but I'll be making return trips to the chubby cattle in Vegas

I love k bbq but this was a different experience than most others! The meat is so fresh. Love that Yu can see them prep it. The sides are all self serve and have many options from soups to fruits. Your price includes a drink and desserts as well. Besides the meats, the wagyu burger was delicious! Service was excellent. Everyone was friendly . Ordering is self done on a tablet. It was loud and busy. So can tell it's good food! For a place like this I expect ut to be loud.

I had chubby cattle for a random visit with a buddy of mine. He was raving about it ever since they open. Little did I know I would be raving about it to my friends and family as well. The food was immaculate. The ambience was thoughtful and the service was incredible. The meat was juicy and tender. The sushi was flavorful and they had great drinks and sides. Tried this place for the first time with a buddy. First impression was rough. I had a very tough time getting them to seat me without giving them my phone number. If I don't want to share and I'm standing there waiting for a table, that should be good enough. I had to escalate to two different managers before they said screw it and sat us. Once inside, it's dark walls and seats but bright lights. Gives us almost an internet cafe feel. Seats were awkward and I was forced to sit butted up against a weird booth with my right knee while the table stretched another foot to my right but I couldn't really use any of it. Very odd configurations throughout and a main intersection where everyone walks through. As far as meat quality and selection, 10/10. I absolutely love the taste, texture and variety of the meats they have. We tried a bunch of different meats of all quality and found them to all be incredibly delicious. What I don't like is that for 80+ per person, you still have to get everything else yourself from their community bar. This includes side dishes like kimchi, bean sprouts, seaweed salad, radish papers, cheese corn, etc. This also includes more of their sauces and a dumpling bar and drinks. So what conceptually is a great idea falls short on execution by asking people to pay 80-100+ per person but not actually getting much of a server crew. Rather forcing customers to serve themselves while the wait staff walks around and helps people order meat. Just seems like a very lazy execution that puts the cooking and gathering of food on the patron rather than the servers. As far as our server, Tyda, she was awesome. I would come back JUST for her. Very sweet, accommodating and understanding. read more

From the moment we walked in this place just looks as good as the food was. Natalie was so sweet as she greeted us at the door. She patiently waited as our whole party of 7 arrived for my dad's birthday. Cid, our waiter greeted us right at the entrance as well. The meal started with a beautiful tour of the restaurant where they store their premium beautifully cut Wagyu. They even have an area where they cut their fresh tuna, albacore, and salmon. The food is incredible. So fresh, so worth it. Our server Cid made us feel like we were a part of his family. Like he wasn't just serving us, but hosting us in his own home that he's so proud of. Thank you for taking care of us! And Mariah came by at the end of the meal making a cute little memory for the kids. She really took all three and served them ice cream. We showed up before opening to put our names down and were about 15 people back in line. They seated the entire line except us (party of 6). We watched them call multiple larger parties--8, 9, and even a group of 5--who arrived after us, while we continued to wait. When we asked, management told us they "weren't able to seat us" because of the size of our party. But watching even bigger groups go ahead of us made absolutely no sense. It felt inconsistent and unfair. After two hours, they were already seating a new round of people who had just put their names down. Meanwhile, we were still bypassed. When we were finally called, the table they tried to seat us at was way too small for six people. And throughout the conversation, the manager kept smiling in a way that felt dismissive and insincere--as if she didn't genuinely care about the frustration we were experiencing. Overall, the food might be great, but the way they manage their waitlist and communicate with guests--especially a party or 6- is extremely disappointing. read more

Tyler M. was super friendly and turned our initial experience around. This was our first time at the Topanga location after having been at the Vegas location twice before. My family loved the Vegas experience so much so that we went back a 2nd time in less than a month. Unfortunately, our experience with the hostess was very stand-offish, rude and made us feel very unwelcome and was even told that staff would be watching our table. Our son, who is on the spectrum, has severe food allergies and sensory issues. We told them that he doesn't eaten just anything and we always pack his food whenever we go. The Vegas location never gave us a hard time about it. Topanga for some reason felt the need to make it a big deal. Tyler to the rescue! He gave us a wonderful turn around to our experience here. My wife and I have been to a lot of the Chubby Cattle locations in California and Las Vegas. Super excited to see one open up so close to us out of Ventura county. This review is mainly for the hostess that was working Saturday night June 13th. Me and my boyfriend came here to celebrate our anniversary because korean bbq is our absolute fav and my bestfriend has been raving about this place. We arrived at 9:20pm and she said it would be a 10-15 minute wait but that we would have a limited experience if we wanted to dine-in, she said that they ran out of rice and that they might not make more, that the self service bar won't be fully stocked etc it was like she was trying to push us away. They close at 11pm and I really don't think that our arrival time was late enough to deserve such pushback. Thank god another couple walked in right after us and when she said all of this to them he literally said its BS bc he's been there before. It did all sound very extreme tbh and I'm glad we decided to stay because as soon as we were sat with our server it was a complete 180 in energy. Our server was so nice and helpful and did not make us feel rushed at all. Everything was indeed fully stocked and the food was just as good as people say, we had a great experience and had plenty of time to order what we needed and were out the door by 10:40. It would have made it 10x better to not walk into such bad vibes upon our arrival especially given it was our first time. I've been to a chubby cattle before and the other one was not like this. I wouldn't want to compare to little Tokyo, just because their service was also top tier. But when I tell you our waiter Lewis was amazing! Great server, he is very knowledgeable, and even though we got the silver tier, he really was knowledgeable about each tier and each meat that we ordered, how to cook it. Ambience was very chill, we were seated in a secluded area in the back, and it was very comfortable. Lots of selection if you are tight on budget, for the other tiers, but Its always worth coming to one of the newest chubby locations. Their self serve station I wish had a little bit more selection than just wagyu sliders, and some other deserts. Will have to come back for the desserts as well as the gold or diamond tier. I also mentioned we drove from Simi Valley to come here and there were many other restaurant options but I told him how the waitress treated me and he said he would talk to her. I told him I would pay for the coffee and I would leave. He said don't worry about the coffee. I didn't even finish my coffee I set it down and left. After coming here for years with family, friends, even referring this place to others I WILL NEVER COMEBACK AGAIN. We made our way to the Country Café in Chatsworth and of course got great hospitality and food.

The pizzas are large and they have some good toppings. The main downside is that they always take forever. Because it is a ghost kitchen, it makes it really hard to judge time. You can say you want your pizza ready by a certain time and it will easily be 20 minutes late, if not longer. Also, the crust is really chewy. But again, the flavors are really good. If you know what to expect, just plan on ordering well in advance and telling them to have it ready well before you actually want to eat.

The restaurant itself is beautiful -- brand new, spotless, and buzzing with that "freshly opened" energy. But if you get seated in Nicole's section? Your night is already off to a perfect start. This girl was handling multiple tables at once (seriously, it was packed) and never missed a beat. She's effortlessly funny and personable, but also knows exactly when to be professional. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does - she walked us through the menu like she's been running this place for years, gave spot-on recommendations (everything we tried was fire), and checked in at the perfect times -never hovering, never disappearing. I also noticed some tables were being encouraged to sign up for memberships, which can feel... a little pushy. Nicole, however, was completely the opposite - laid-back, nonchalant, and never made me feel like I had to get one. Honestly, her vibe made me think, "Yeah, maybe I should," without ever feeling pressured. Who wants to feel forced into a membership? Exactly. And here's the thing: good service is one thing, but good service with personality? That's magic. Nicole has that rare ability to make you feel genuinely cared for, like you're being hosted by someone who actually enjoys your company. As for the food - the AYCE Wagyu was incredible, of course, but Nicole's service honestly made it next-level. She turned a delicious meal into a full experience. On my first visit on December 6th, 2025, we waited around two hours. The host, who wears glasses, warned us that we might not make it in before they closed because it was so busy. Luckily, we managed to get a table just ten minutes before they stopped seating, which didn't give us much time, but thankfully, our server was fantastic. They made sure our meal went smoothly despite the time crunch. One issue I faced was with the host's referral code. She suggested that using her code would get us in faster, so each person in my group signed up using her code. We ended up giving her around 2,000 points, which felt shady because she could've just asked us to create accounts instead of implying it was necessary for quicker seating. I noticed she did this with other families as well. On my second visit, things went more smoothly, and we had more time to enjoy the experience. The restaurant is quite large and kept very clean. I noticed that a lot of the meats are very fatty; I wish there were more marinated options since the ones they offer don't have much sauce. The ordering system is interesting but could be easier to read, as it's filled with cartoon pictures. The sides were tasty, though I would love to see more variety. One of the best parts of our visit was our server, Tyler. He was energetic, attentive, and extremely helpful, ensuring we had a great time. While Chubby Cattle is on the pricier side, it's worth a try for the bustling atmosphere and good food. Beware the wait time...I visited your restaurant with a party of six to celebrate two birthdays and, unfortunately, had a very disappointing experience. Our quoted wait extended to 3.5 hours, and while the front desk staff were initially pleasant, their attitude became increasingly dismissive as time passed. Despite being first on the Yelp waitlist, multiple smaller parties were seated ahead of us. Although I mentioned several times that we were willing to split the group if needed, no one proactively communicated options, and we continued waiting for a six-person table. In the end, we were seated at an undersized table where we were crowded and uncomfortable , and we ultimately had to split into two tables anyway. This lack of communication and care made the experience unnecessarily stressful, especially during a birthday celebration. However, our server, Nessie, completely turned the evening around. Food was amazing and our server Kevin made the experience even better. My boyfriend and I were trying to find a place for a last minute anniversary dinner and knew we would only be eating for a short time due to arriving so late (we came close to last call) and Kevin helped us so much with the menu and making sure we were able to finish our time with our bellies full. He had really good recommendations as well, the strip loin has easily become my favorites dish on the whole menu (but it is not included in the all you can eat menu). For the food: Otoro and short rib from the special menu are easily my favorites from the specials. The meats are great and they have a solid choice of seafood options and sushi as well. I wasn't expecting the sushi to be as good as it was too, tasting good and is a solid options as well for me (I usually only get salmon so I'm not familiar with the other fish. I do want to note that a chunk of the options are wagyu and so can be really fatty. I personally love this but do want those who don't particularly like fatty meats to look over the menu and see if they have options you would prefer before coming! All in all, amazing service, and the self serve bar has a good selection between deserts, extra hot foods, cold foods, and some good drink such as the milk tea. Went in for our wedding anniversary dinner! Just wanted to highlight their amazing customer service. ( as a same sex couple we don't know what to expect interms of how "LGBTQ friendly" an establishment will be). With our experience we were delighted as first timers! The host Jennifer greeted us happily and wished us a Happy Wedding Anniversary! We felt welcomed and she took the time to answer and break down how CC's dining tiers worked. As for our Server Ferni did an amazing job cooking our specialty meats and making sure we had everything we needed. The high energy personality and accommodation made the experience even better. The dining is timed and you can order up to 10 items every 7 min but we never felt rushed and there's plenty of time to eat and enjoy. As for the food WOW we went with the gold tier for our family of 3. It's worth it. No frozen meat and all the self serve options are great! High quality meats, sushi and sides. Our faves included the wagyu steak, top blade, and our son loved the wagyu sliders! They offer specials for a membership and Ferni explained all the perks! I highly recommend on getting the membership and take advantage of any offers they have that month. We're excited to come back again! Where do I begin? We arrived at 6:30 pm and were told the wait would be a little over an hour long. That wasn't a problem, but when our table was ready, we had to wait over 30 minutes inside even though they said we were all set. Once seated, the waiter only came to our table once to greet himself. We watched him serve and help cook at the surrounding tables, but we were left unattended for the duration of our meal. Not only that, but we never got a grill change, and they didn't bring us three plates of meat that we ordered. On top of this, the quality of the meat was definitely not as advertised. It was chewy at best. I really wanted to love this place, but for the price, I expected much better service and food quality. The sushi was decent, but that's honestly about it. Even the desserts were inedible. The egg tarts were so overcooked that they were practically like scrambled eggs in a burnt pie crust. The hostess was rude when we reminded her our table was ready, the waiter was absent, and we didn't even get what we ordered. First off want to start by saying I had a huge group come in with me there was 10 of us. Our server was on it, great at explaining. He kinda looked like Bryce hall, he killed it but went overkill with the membership pitch. Im sure they want their servers to keep pushing for us to buy a membership however it's very sleezy. Felt like I was being pushed into buying a timeshare. He does end it by saying well it's your loss! Nice way to treat customers before leaving a fat tip! Stop pushing memberships, patrons come to eat not feel bad for not signing up for yet another money grab. Seafood Quality wasn't great, salmon and yellowtail were subpar. Beef was great. Front house hostess seem in experienced, they have rude demeanors and aren't very great at making you feel like you're being taken care of. We asked how long it would take and there wasn't even an explanation as to why it would take a certain amount of time. They need better training or just getter better staff. read more

Tyler was an excellent server. We were new to this kind of service and he helped us figure it and taught us some techniques when it came to how to grill the meets. The premium meats were the best - sooooo delicious! Felt like such a premium experience - very cool theme to the restaurant. On the downside it felt weird that the fire alarm went off towards the end of our meal and it was brushed off as something that tends to happen due to all the grilled meat smoke. And the notification system was a little wonky since we saw our name disappear from the list in the front, but still hadn't received the our table is ready text. it was all fine though and they assured us they were just cleaning the table and we were about to sit. Its a new place so hopefully they work out the kinks soon. Overall though excellent place to come - probably ideal for a group of 4. Delicious food - friendly service.
