I had a very disappointing experience at this all-you-can-eat Japanese BBQ restaurant. Before we were seated, we politely asked the front desk if our party could be split into two tables. Despite the restaurant having the availability, they refused and insisted on seating all of us at one table. The hostess also had a very rude attitude from the moment we arrived, which immediately made us feel unwelcome. As the meal went on, many of the food items were running out. We asked multiple times for refills, but they were never replenished, which is unacceptable for an all-you-can-eat restaurant. To make matters worse, when the bill came, they automatically added gratuity for our large party. We asked to speak with the manager because of the poor service throughout the evening, hoping they would at least acknowledge our concerns. Instead, the manager was just as dismissive and rude as the front desk staff and made no effort to resolve the situation or make things right. Overall, the customer service was terrible from start to finish, the food service did not live up to the "all-you-can-eat" experience, and management showed no interest in customer satisfaction. I would not recommend this restaurant and will not be returning.

Stopped here tonight with the family. It was my first time here and I must say this place was amazing. My compadre was the one who showed me this place and we decided to finally try it tonight. The food: 1000/1000 we went with the gold option and it was amazing. So many wonderful cuts of Waygu beef and the recommendations from our server were great: we also had the sides and I must say the Waygu burger was so good, I can see why it would run out really fast. The deserts were so good and lots of amazing options. I enjoyed the unlimited beverages as well. Service: top notch service, our server was Tyler and he went above and beyond for our party. He made sure our experience was an excellent one. He was kind, courteous and you can tell he takes pride in his work. The inside was very nice and clean, this used to be another restaurant back in the days so it was nice to come back to my old stepping grounds. Drove over 60 miles to come here and I will definitely be coming back. Thank you Tyler for the hospitality.

Chubby Cattle is a place of variety, indulgence and quality, a good treat. You can eat self prepared BBQ meats and refreshing sushi options at the same time. Obviously the quality is great, they have many premium options including waygu beef all you can eat. The service was good from our host, positive attitude and welcoming, until he started to mention their membership and if we wanted to join five times after saying no. Earlier we called to get information before arriving and they can't even have a staff member answer the call, an AI bot was struggling to assist and answer our questions. Everything is ordered on a tablet. The amount of self service at this restaurant is nauseating, considering the price to dine in. You can order every 7 minutes until time is up. Ambiance is active and the upbeat music playlist is about at a medium volume. The experience is streamlined to get you in and out, I was not a fan of the constant badgering to join their membership, especially at checkout. There is an egregious amount of self service that could be handled by staff, for the price range, having everyone run around each other to grab drinks and grab items from the cold bar and other self service areas is strange. Located on the first floor by Target at the Topanga mall, parking in the structure.

I got the gold tier, it was a nice option to try the "tasting experience" as it was our first time, but honestly could have done without it. This place is more on the pricier side, but for the silver tier, it's a solid opt. There were a few items on the menu that we tried that we did not like at all, it had to be taken away lol but there were a lot of items we did enjoy! Our server nick was knowledgeable and friendly. This is a type of restaurant where you order through the tablet and the food comes to your table, the server does come around often to check in on you and to change the grills. Jasper was also really good at taking away any of our empty/ dirty dishes every time he dropped off food. When I first arrived, I was trying to get the host attention so that I could get checked in but she is not welcoming and bit rude. She is constantly looking down at her tablet then walking away. Then just calls whoever is next on the tablet, not acknowledging anyone new coming in! Me and another guest were so confused we had to flag her down to get checked in which is so odd. I've never been to a restaurant where a host made us feel like we are an inconvenience to her!! Anyway,after we did check in, we had to wait another 20 mins or so for our table to be ready. Lowkey being added to the wait yourself vs reservation seems like the same wait time which defeats the purpose of a reservation.

As a huge fan of Chubby Cattle, I am incredibly disappointed to say that this specific location has been a miss ever since it opened. I've given it three chances now, and each visit has been a poor experience. After my most recent visit, I felt compelled to finally write a review. We ordered the highest tier (Diamond), expecting a premium experience, but our server, Kai, was completely rude and unprofessional. Throughout the night, he barely checked on us or cleared our plates. Instead, he repeatedly approached our table just to scold us about having only 30 minutes left. When last call approached, we placed a larger order to wrap up our meal. Kai came over and lectured us about the size of the order, warning us that we would have to pay for leftovers even though we ended up finishing absolutely everything. When we tried to put in one final item before the system even shut down, he arbitrarily told us he was canceling it because we "couldn't order anymore." It is incredibly frustrating to be paying customers spending over $600, only to be spoken to so disrespectfully about ordering food during valid service hours. To top it off, after dropping off the check and taking our payment, we went to get dessert. Kai approached us yet again and told us we needed to leave, essentially kicking us out of the restaurant. We've been to so many Chubby concepts and never have once been treated like this.

We've been here a total of two times and each time has been amazing! We had Nick and Kai serving us and they've been amazing. Always checking in on us, making sure we get the best service, and just vibed with them. They're so easy to chat up. It's more expensive than your AYCE experience but it's really worth it especially for special occasions. It's a sit down upscale JBBQ spot and while I love their meats, I think about their lobster roll, Wagyu slider, and carpaccio the most alongside their unlimited milk tea and egg tarts. Next time we come, we hope we get to run into Nick and Kai again! They both work really hard and the quality of their service definitely shows.

Last night me and my boyfriend wanted to get KBBQ and we're deciding between a place in West Hills and here. We ultimately decided to try Chubby Cattle because of the extra things that come with it, especially the dessert station. Our server was really attentive and friendly despite having to go through 3 iPads because each one did not work. It made ordering longer which was frustrating because you only get a certain amount of time to order. The meat itself was pretty good and the sushi was alright. What was the most disappointing was that the reason why we chose this place - the dessert station, was completely empty. We asked three different people and waited twenty minutes and there was still absolutely nothing in it. It was unfair to pay the whole price for something that did not include the whole package. It seems like this happens a lot to and for this reason, I wouldn't trust it enough to pay for the whole thing upfront and not get the entire menu offered.

We were here a couple months ago, and tonight we are back to celebrate my hubby's birthday...and yes, I'm happy happy to say service is 100% on point, super nice and helpful. I also learned tonight, just in case if you were wondering...On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays it is only Walk-In no reservations...wait time varies, but Mon thru Thursday you can make reservations and also do walk-in's. We still love the choices from the digital menu, and totally enjoyed the birthday jingle surprise!! OH! I love love their Earl Grey roll cake!! I had 2 slices!! (Gasp)! It's totally fun inside! I love the interior designs.

Delicious food and stellar service! Absolutely worth the wait and the price. This was my first time dining at Chubby Cattle, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. There's a variety of meat to choose from, from rich and savory wagyu to thinner briskets. All meat is very high quality cuts, taste amazing even without sauce. The sushi was just OK to me. Some of the rice was undercooked and so randomly crunchy in some parts, and the taste of the fish was just acceptable. The hand rolls were pretty good, though. Love the assortment of sides and appetizers to choose from, and the self service drinks, salads, desserts, and sides. There's even dim sum! And the slushies are so good. I actually didn't like the milk tea much, too creamy and sweet for me, but YMMV. There's just so much to eat and drink here, and the portions are just right. Loved the ambiance and the service. The only drawback was the wait time (quite long on a weekend for lunch) and the fact that it got super smoky in the area we sat. Even the restrooms were noticeably smoky. However, our table and others in the area were moved to a section with significantly better ventilation. It seems like ventilation could be a recurring issue here, but they also seem to be aware of it and can shift your table somewhere better if it gets too smoky. Overall, highly recommend this place!

Chubby Cattle in Woodland Hills, located inside the Westfield Topanga Mall, is a super fun and elevated Korean BBQ-style experience featuring Japanese wagyu. It's easy to get to, on the bottom floor, next to Target. It gets super busy, so make sure to go super early to put your name down. Oh! And make sure you come hungry. The atmosphere is modern, lively, and upscale compared to your typical KBBQ. You're given a set dining time, and there's also a 7-minute window in which you can place each order, which can feel a little stressful at first since you're trying to decide, order, cook, and eat all at once. I took a few pictures but we probably had 30 more plates and with the time constraints, it was hard! We went with the Silver Tier, and it was amazing. The quality of the meat was excellent, especially the Japanese wagyu, which was rich, tender, and full of flavor. Everything we ordered tasted high quality and well worth it. There's also a walk-up area where you can grab extras like fresh vegetables, curry, soup, corn/sweet potato with cheese, desserts, and even a wagyu hamburger, which we heard was delicious. The milk teas were also really good and a nice pairing with the meal. The experience can feel a bit overwhelming at first, but our server Tyler was incredible. He helped us put in our first order, gave great recommendations, and made sure we understood how everything worked. His attentiveness really made the experience smooth and enjoyable. Overall, Chubby Cattle is a unique, high-quality wagyu BBQ experience that's definitely worth trying. Just be ready for a fast-paced start - and if you get Tyler, you're in great hands! We'll definitely be back! **Tip** Sign up for their yearly membership. The initial cost and what you save pays for itself.

Chubby Cattle is beautifully decorated, well serviced, and has delicious food. I probably won't go again. The good - all the food was fresh with plenty of variety. Buffet options were great too. There a rice machine that serves exactly the amount of rice you want, like R2D2 scooping your portion. I really liked the wagu stew and all the meats. I would skip the sushi. The bad - the dining experience, while fun, was not relaxing at all. There is a timer that counts down like a game show, ticking time bomb. When the timer finishes, you order your limited number of dishes and the timer stars again. It feels like a game show to maximize your orders rather than tasting a variety of beautifully aged fatty meats. The restaurant itself is clean but very congested. I would recommend checking it out, but I'll be making return trips to the chubby cattle in Vegas

I love k bbq but this was a different experience than most others! The meat is so fresh. Love that Yu can see them prep it. The sides are all self serve and have many options from soups to fruits. Your price includes a drink and desserts as well. Besides the meats, the wagyu burger was delicious! Service was excellent. Everyone was friendly . Ordering is self done on a tablet. It was loud and busy. So can tell it's good food! For a place like this I expect ut to be loud.

We came with a group of six during their soft opening, and overall the experience was just okay--definitely not what we expected given the price point. Our total came out to about $600 for six people including gratuity, and for that amount, you'd really hope for a smooth, 5-star dining experience. One of the biggest downsides is the 90-minute dining limit, no matter the size of your party. With a larger group, 90 minutes goes by really fast, and it makes it hard to actually enjoy your time, talk, and eat without feeling rushed. Ordering is done through a TV screen next to the table, which would've been convenient if it worked well--but it lagged a lot. Not sure if this is their intended system or just a soft-opening hiccup, but it definitely slowed everything down. I've been to two other Chubby Cattle locations before, and sadly, this one ranks as my least favorite. The restaurant itself is small and crowded. We used to come here when it was Gyu-Kaku, and that setup worked because they didn't rely on a self-serve station. With the limited space Chubby Cattle has, the self-serve layout feels cramped and chaotic--something they may want to rethink. On the positive side, the meat quality was good, and the service staff were friendly. But the dining rules make things feel even more rushed: you can only order 10 items every 7 minutes, and ordering shuts down at the 70-minute mark, which is wild considering you've paid for 90 minutes. We were also approached several times about their membership program, which started to feel a bit pushy. For almost $600, we expected a more seamless, comfortable, and elevated experience. While the food and service were good, the tight space, rushed structure, and lagging technology made the visit fall short of the 5-star dining standard we were hoping for. I'm hoping things improve once they move past the soft-opening phase. read more

Ate here recently with family and friends and it was so so good. Parking// Since it is located inside topanga mall, there is ample parking. If you are just going to eat at chubby cattle I recommend parking 1st level target area (it will be a closer walk). Wait// time will vary depending on what time of day you go, or if weekday or weekend of course. Lunch is open from 12-3pm and they re-open for dinner 5pm. I went during lunch so the wait was not that bad. Food// awesome food. There are 3 levels or tiers to choose from, we picked the gold tier and the food was so bomb. Gold tier is $78/per person. Like all kbbqs, per policy, since you do share a grill with your party, each person at the table has to get the same tier. And, they have iPad/tablet for every table to send more orders for meats! (Which is such an awesome feature too). We are able to send food orders every 7 minutes. They have self serving bar as well, which includes dumplings, sauce bar, miso soup, rice & vegetables. They also have milk tea, fruit slushies and a dessert bar. It's honestly so worth the price for all the items included! Kbbq and sashimi? You can never go wrong with that! Service// Our server LEWIS was professional, friendly and informative! He offered to help pick which types of meat to choose and even assisted with cooking some of our meats! He also recommended for us to sign up for the membership! Such a great deal to be honest. Lewis was also very attentive, we never had to ask him for a grill change, he was quick to replace it often! Had a great time at Chubby Cattle tonight. Our first time visiting and we enjoyed it. It reminds me of Gyu-Kaku but cleaner and some self serve food (fruit, salad, soft serve ice cream) and drink stations. The sushi and chicken were mediocre but the meats were good and had higher quality (Wagyu) options vs Gyu-Kaku. Didn't love the time limit to order food (90 minutes I think) but I understand that they're a business and can't have an all you can eat customer eating Wagyu steak for 3 hours haha. The all-you-can-eat Japanese BBQ experience is always worth it high-quality meats, great variety, and a fun, lively atmosphere that makes the meal feel like an event. Shoutout to our server Kevin, who was absolutely excellent. He was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything came out quickly and smoothly without us ever feeling rushed. If I could give Jamie 10 stars out of 5, I would. My first experience at Chubby Cattle was incredible because she was anticipating my party's every need. My friend dropped his chopsticks and while they were still midair, she appeared with a fresh pair in hand. He didn't even know he dropped them. Someone said out loud that they wished they had napkins and she appeared not even 1 second later to make sure he got those damn napkins. She also came by every 7 minutes on the dot to make sure we were maximizing our orders. When it was close to closing, she swung by with the last two plates of the crepe cakes (VERY delicious) to make sure we managed to taste them. If she told me she was descended from a long line of seers I would believe her because it was like she foresaw our every want and need. This is not satire. This would be a one star review if it wasn't for Jamie who singlehandedly saved my birthday experience here. Started off with being told we would have a 20 minute wait and didn't get seated until an hour and a half later while groups of the same size who showed up AFTER we did were seated and the rest of the staff could not care less. But Jamie was so kind and sweet, she gave service so incredible that I went from being ready to scream to smiling and happy by the end of the night. YOU ROCK JAMIE!!! Our server was great, but our experience was horrible. First off don't try calling, you'll get a bot and if you ask to speak to a human it goes to a voicemail that probably won't get listened to. We had a party of 8 for Sunday night dinner, I went in on Friday and was told they don't take reservations for weekends (understandable) but to come and get added to the list, wait is about 2 hours. Perfect, I go back Sunday at 430 and wait is 2 hours, not a problem put our name down and start the wait. At 630 after not getting a text I go back in, oh wait is another 30 minutes, then 30 minutes later I get a call asking if we still wanted to be sat, we say yes, great please wait more. 2 of our friends left because of the wait. Finally at 845we get sat and told they apologize for the wait, next time buy the membership and you'll get priority seating. Food starts coming out, we're enjoying it then we get hit with oh kitchen closes in 10 minutes so we get more food ordered, but unfortunately never got all the food nor did we get the "premium" meats promised with the purchase of the membership. Will we be returning? Probably not, was it worth it? I don't think so, there are plenty of other kbbq in the valley that are 1000x better imo. read more

Moments later, while drinking my coffee the lady that's assigned to that section asked if I wanted to order anything or if I needed a menu which then I informed her that I was waiting for a table and was told it was cool if I sat there while I drank a coffee. She then rudely stated in Spanish. "I DON'T MAKE MONEY THAT WAY" then storms off. The lady starts complaining to her coworkers and they start looking my way. They then inform the guy that always wears a black shirt and slick back hair who I believe is a manager and he comes over and explains that this section is for walk ins that plan to sit and eat here and am welcomed to wait outside or in the waiting area.I informed him it wasn't a problem but thats the reason I asked from the beginning. I also mentioned we drove from Simi Valley to come here and there were many other restaurant options but I told him how the waitress treated me and he said he would talk to her. I told him I would pay for the coffee and I would leave. He said don't worry about the coffee. I didn't even finish my coffee I set it down and left. After coming here for years with family, friends, even referring this place to others I WILL NEVER COMEBACK AGAIN. We made our way to the Country Café in Chatsworth and of course got great hospitality and food.

The pizzas are large and they have some good toppings. The main downside is that they always take forever. Because it is a ghost kitchen, it makes it really hard to judge time. You can say you want your pizza ready by a certain time and it will easily be 20 minutes late, if not longer. Also, the crust is really chewy. But again, the flavors are really good. If you know what to expect, just plan on ordering well in advance and telling them to have it ready well before you actually want to eat.

I don't usually run to Yelp after a meal, but Chubby Cattle in Topanga deserves every word -- mostly because of Nicole, who completely made our night. The restaurant itself is beautiful -- brand new, spotless, and buzzing with that "freshly opened" energy. But if you get seated in Nicole's section? Your night is already off to a perfect start. This girl was handling multiple tables at once (seriously, it was packed) and never missed a beat. She's effortlessly funny and personable, but also knows exactly when to be professional. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does - she walked us through the menu like she's been running this place for years, gave spot-on recommendations (everything we tried was fire), and checked in at the perfect times -never hovering, never disappearing. I also noticed some tables were being encouraged to sign up for memberships, which can feel... a little pushy. Nicole, however, was completely the opposite - laid-back, nonchalant, and never made me feel like I had to get one. Honestly, her vibe made me think, "Yeah, maybe I should," without ever feeling pressured. Who wants to feel forced into a membership? Exactly. And here's the thing: good service is one thing, but good service with personality? That's magic. Nicole has that rare ability to make you feel genuinely cared for, like you're being hosted by someone who actually enjoys your company. As for the food - the AYCE Wagyu was incredible, of course, but Nicole's service honestly made it next-level. She turned a delicious meal into a full experience. By the end, it felt like we'd been coming here for years. If management reads this: seriously, don't sleep on Nicole. She's the kind of server who should be promoted yesterday -- a natural leader, fast, smart, personable. Hang onto her, invest in her, give her the recognition she deserves. I recently visited Chubby Cattle at the mall, and it's clear why it's so popular--there's always a line before it even opens! The wait time can be quite long, especially if you don't arrive early. On my first visit on December 6th, 2025, we waited around two hours. The host, who wears glasses, warned us that we might not make it in before they closed because it was so busy. Luckily, we managed to get a table just ten minutes before they stopped seating, which didn't give us much time, but thankfully, our server was fantastic. They made sure our meal went smoothly despite the time crunch. One issue I faced was with the host's referral code. She suggested that using her code would get us in faster, so each person in my group signed up using her code. We ended up giving her around 2,000 points, which felt shady because she could've just asked us to create accounts instead of implying it was necessary for quicker seating. I noticed she did this with other families as well. On my second visit, things went more smoothly, and we had more time to enjoy the experience. The restaurant is quite large and kept very clean. I noticed that a lot of the meats are very fatty; I wish there were more marinated options since the ones they offer don't have much sauce. The ordering system is interesting but could be easier to read, as it's filled with cartoon pictures. The sides were tasty, though I would love to see more variety. One of the best parts of our visit was our server, Tyler. He was energetic, attentive, and extremely helpful, ensuring we had a great time. While Chubby Cattle is on the pricier side, it's worth a try for the bustling atmosphere and good food. Beware the wait time...I visited your restaurant with a party of six to celebrate two birthdays and, unfortunately, had a very disappointing experience. Our quoted wait extended to 3.5 hours, and while the front desk staff were initially pleasant, their attitude became increasingly dismissive as time passed. Despite being first on the Yelp waitlist, multiple smaller parties were seated ahead of us. Although I mentioned several times that we were willing to split the group if needed, no one proactively communicated options, and we continued waiting for a six-person table. In the end, we were seated at an undersized table where we were crowded and uncomfortable , and we ultimately had to split into two tables anyway. This lack of communication and care made the experience unnecessarily stressful, especially during a birthday celebration. However, our server, Nessie, completely turned the evening around. His professionalism, attentiveness, humor and genuinely warm demeanor made a significant difference. He checked on us consistently, anticipated our needs, and ensured that every part of the meal went smoothly despite the rocky start. Food was amazing and our server Kevin made the experience even better. My boyfriend and I were trying to find a place for a last minute anniversary dinner and knew we would only be eating for a short time due to arriving so late (we came close to last call) and Kevin helped us so much with the menu and making sure we were able to finish our time with our bellies full. He had really good recommendations as well, the strip loin has easily become my favorites dish on the whole menu (but it is not included in the all you can eat menu). For the food: Otoro and short rib from the special menu are easily my favorites from the specials. The meats are great and they have a solid choice of seafood options and sushi as well. I wasn't expecting the sushi to be as good as it was too, tasting good and is a solid options as well for me (I usually only get salmon so I'm not familiar with the other fish. I do want to note that a chunk of the options are wagyu and so can be really fatty. I personally love this but do want those who don't particularly like fatty meats to look over the menu and see if they have options you would prefer before coming! All in all, amazing service, and the self serve bar has a good selection between deserts, extra hot foods, cold foods, and some good drink such as the milk tea. Went in for our wedding anniversary dinner! Just wanted to highlight their amazing customer service. ( as a same sex couple we don't know what to expect interms of how "LGBTQ friendly" an establishment will be). With our experience we were delighted as first timers! The host Jennifer greeted us happily and wished us a Happy Wedding Anniversary! We felt welcomed and she took the time to answer and break down how CC's dining tiers worked. As for our Server Ferni did an amazing job cooking our specialty meats and making sure we had everything we needed. The high energy personality and accommodation made the experience even better. The dining is timed and you can order up to 10 items every 7 min but we never felt rushed and there's plenty of time to eat and enjoy. As for the food WOW we went with the gold tier for our family of 3. It's worth it. No frozen meat and all the self serve options are great! High quality meats, sushi and sides. Our faves included the wagyu steak, top blade, and our son loved the wagyu sliders! They offer specials for a membership and Ferni explained all the perks! Where do I begin? We arrived at 6:30 pm and were told the wait would be a little over an hour long. That wasn't a problem, but when our table was ready, we had to wait over 30 minutes inside even though they said we were all set. Once seated, the waiter only came to our table once to greet himself. We watched him serve and help cook at the surrounding tables, but we were left unattended for the duration of our meal. Not only that, but we never got a grill change, and they didn't bring us three plates of meat that we ordered. On top of this, the quality of the meat was definitely not as advertised. It was chewy at best. I really wanted to love this place, but for the price, I expected much better service and food quality. The sushi was decent, but that's honestly about it. Even the desserts were inedible. The egg tarts were so overcooked that they were practically like scrambled eggs in a burnt pie crust. The hostess was rude when we reminded her our table was ready, the waiter was absent, and we didn't even get what we ordered. We left feedback to the shift lead, but there was no offer of compensation whatsoever; just a halfhearted apology. Save yourself the time and money and dine elsewhere. read more

First off want to start by saying I had a huge group come in with me there was 10 of us. Our server was on it, great at explaining. He kinda looked like Bryce hall, he killed it but went overkill with the membership pitch. Im sure they want their servers to keep pushing for us to buy a membership however it's very sleezy. Felt like I was being pushed into buying a timeshare. He does end it by saying well it's your loss! Nice way to treat customers before leaving a fat tip! Stop pushing memberships, patrons come to eat not feel bad for not signing up for yet another money grab. Seafood Quality wasn't great, salmon and yellowtail were subpar. Beef was great. Front house hostess seem in experienced, they have rude demeanors and aren't very great at making you feel like you're being taken care of. We asked how long it would take and there wasn't even an explanation as to why it would take a certain amount of time. They need better training or just getter better staff. read more

Tyler was an excellent server. We were new to this kind of service and he helped us figure it and taught us some techniques when it came to how to grill the meets. The premium meats were the best - sooooo delicious! Felt like such a premium experience - very cool theme to the restaurant. On the downside it felt weird that the fire alarm went off towards the end of our meal and it was brushed off as something that tends to happen due to all the grilled meat smoke. And the notification system was a little wonky since we saw our name disappear from the list in the front, but still hadn't received the our table is ready text. it was all fine though and they assured us they were just cleaning the table and we were about to sit. Its a new place so hopefully they work out the kinks soon. Overall though excellent place to come - probably ideal for a group of 4. Delicious food - friendly service.
