Super fun experience! Longggggg wait list! Maybe sure you put yourself on a waitlist before you stroll around the neighborhood! Ambiance was cute, hoping that they would clean and make the serving station a little neater. Other than that, it's such a memorial experience! Food was good and fresh as well!

FOOD: ayce buffet with many different cuts of meat, seafood, sushi, etc. There's also a bar for pastries, rice, drinks, curry, and other items. The near was pretty good! Service: Good service and they changed our grill often. Also helped us with getting the membership... Ambiance: Very Japanese-esq. Very similar to Shibuya, lots of colors ans bright lights. Ambiance was nice and the staff was attentive but thats as much as I can say for positives. Finally decided to come try this new barbecue place and left disappointed. We got the gold tier as it came with "A5 Brisket." I get that it's an all you can eat and the quality will not be as great, but if you're going to advertise that your meat is A5, I would expect to be served just that. As you can see in the photo, the meat quality is mediocre. The "A5" brisket in question is shown in the photo. The lack of marbling, the excessive amount of fat makes you really question if it is what is being advertised. I've had better quality meat at other places for half the price. Note: A bunch of meats that we ordered did not come and the service is slow. If you're here for the A5 experience, this isn't the place as you get 4 small pieces per person.

Came here around 4pm. Was the 1st on the yelp waitlist. Only took 5min to get seated. The atmosphere today was quite nice even though it was about 100 degrees. The server shows you a menu on the monitor. Ive been here many times. Today I noticed the new soda machine. They also have uni and lobster roll for gold teir. Rest of the menu is the same. Service is still as amazing as when they opened up. The quality of food is the same. Overall good experience. Will come back again.

Came for dinner around 6:00 and was seated pretty quick. It's a little hidden from the outside because there's no big signs but once you walk by you will see. They offer a diverse menu featuring Wagyu, sushi, appetizers, seafood, and more. There is a drink and dessert station and an area where you can customize your veggie and fruit platter. Everything we ate was good and fresh. The upstairs interior exudes the ambiance of a Japanese yakiniku/bbq restaurant. The restaurant is clean and the service was great! Definitely recommend when in Manhattan!

Was here with a group of 4 and had a great experience! Definitely make a reservation since they are normally packed. Since it was first time, our server took his time to explain all our options and told us about the membership. This turned out to be an awesome deal since you can use it at all the other restaurants in their network, which I already go to but never knew. You could choose from a ton of appetizers, meats, seafood, etc., all of it tasted great. A5 was great quality and flavorful. You have 90 min total with 70 min to order, so definitely make sure to keep ordering! With the Gold membership, it came out to $65 a person (each membership covers 2 people). Would come back again!

Been to the West coast locations a few times, I got excited when I found out another location was finally opening up on the East coast!! Came here the first time on a Saturday night and was a 10/10 experience! From service to the food, nothing to complain about. The hostess and our server Cody H. were great and made the experience great from the start. My best friend are foodies, we love how there is a self serve station for drinks, sides, sweets, sauces, and even rice!! Meat is really top quality, melt in your mouth and flavorful. And love the premium tier, it's worth it! 100% recommend this place to anyone. Place is aesthetic and clean as well! As much as I don't like driving to the city, this is worth the trip..I even ended up signing up for the membership...meaning I'll be coming to the city more often especially just for Chubby Cattle! The only complaint is that we were seated at the end of the restaurant right under a vent that was dripping on the table, that we didn't notice until near the end when it landed directly on the grill.

My friend saw the sign posted outside for their lunch special. So, we pulled together 4 more of our besties and booked a Friday Lunch Party. Omg we had a great time!! The food was amazing! And so much of it! Starters, sauces, veggies to throw on the grill with the variety of meats that came with our lunch sets. Desserts and bev too! It was the best time. So Delicious!! Chris, our server was perfection. She was always available, going back and forth clearing plates and changing out the barbecue grill tops. Couldn't be nicer. They didn't rush us out, no problem! We can't wait to book another lunch party at Chubby Cattle!

This place was amazing! I had chubby cattle before in LA but this location has the coolest themes! The self serve bar is top notch and the wagyu meat quality is better than any meat you will find in the market or any other restaurant. The service was quick and the management were on top of keeping everything in order. I believe our server's name was Asiyah. She explained the menu beautifully and helped us grill our meats! Niomi was the manager in charge and she made sure everyone was enjoying their time. She even started cleaning up tables to help out the staff. We love a manager who truly cares!

Great food, great decor, and amazing service from Sherry!! AYCE wagyu, with a lot of different appetizers and sushi to choose from. Will recommend this and will try all the other restaurants from their brand. Only tiny suggestion is if you're a table of 4, the 10 plates maximum goes fast.

Our first time at chubby cattle - they had opened just a month prior. We chose the gold tier which included a selection of a a5 Wagyu menu item per person. Our personal favorite was the beef tongue platter. The foie gras nigiri was also amazing. Our server was sherry. She was super attentive and explained how the membership and menu worked in extreme detail. We had so many questions since it was our first time here but she was so patient and helpful. The server was nice. Food is alright. Too many restrictions, not truly ayce Wagyu. Even if you get the top Diamond tier (which I did), they limit you to 2 pieces of true A5. The rest is Australia but I feel like some of the meat was just choice grade meat. And for all my alcoholic friends, all they have is Sapporo right now.... No sake or any liquor at all.... Nice to have a Japanese bbq in the soho area. It add to the dining options. Service staff was great they explained how and what to expect. The only thing I think we are missing is the quality of the meats. Having being a meat eater that is super important to us. This is our 2nd times here and both times is AMAZING. EVERYONE here is super friendly and attentive. They opened at noon and everything was already set up, fresh and ready to eat. The servers can cook for you or you can choose to do it yourself. We had Cody today n he made sure it's cooked to our liking. We like our meat med rare and that's EXACTLY what we got. There's a salad bar, sides, fountain drinks etc you can pick n choose. You can sign up for their membership which we all did. It's worth if you're planning to come back. They also have unlimited self-service station, sushi, seafood, signature dishes, and grilling foil to choose from. The ambiance stands out! It felt like you were in Japan for a sec. First impression: the ambiance *chefs kiss* the decor and art plastered along the walls really give the establishment so much character. Nickel and diming with the fine print. Be warned that there's no ayce wagyu at face value. Also they had a B which might explain why me and my party had upset stomachs the next day. 95% of the dishes were low quality and this is with us purchasing the highest tier. The hype is mostly from social media so be warned. You'll also notice 500 plus reviews aren't available for review. They're hiding reviews on purpose so if you see this, I dodged their review meddling. read more

Really fantastic service and cleanliness for how many plates are coming and going from the table. Louie was our server and he was super helpful. He brought over house tea and veggies to pair with our meat. The whole staff is hustling around and taking care of multiple tables. Something awesome was we never had to ask to have our grill replaced. 3 times our server came over and timed the replacement before it was too burnt. I'm docking 1 star because they had accidentally given us 4 skewers instead of 5 that we ordered when they gave up the skewers wrapped in tin foil, anddddd after consuming the skewers did we realize we did not get the variety we ordered, but instead 4 lamb and 1 chicken gizzard. Somehow, Dallas BBQ can sell banging meals for decent price. I think that this is even cheaper than some SoCal BBQ places for the amount of food we receive. Some members of the group ordered liquor (at their own expense) to celebrate the good time they were having. Customer service was less than stellar. The waitress did not inform us that soft drinks were complimentary until after we finished eating. That wasn't all. The restroom was located downstairs past the bar room. During my two visits - before and after the food was served - the same staff member was there cleaning. He had just finished the sinks when I went in the first time. On the second visit, the front door was blocked from the inside by a pail - he was mopping the floor. Couldn't he have waited till the off-peak hours to do that?? Customer service and cornbread were enough for me to not recommend this restaurant.

Food: 7.8/10 The food overall was solid, with a good range of options that kept the experience interesting. We opted for the "Gold" tier ($78 per person), which includes a selection of higher-grade items available once per table. From that menu, I tried the A5 Miyazaki Wagyu short rib and the uni caviar lobster roll. While both sounded impressive on paper, the lobster roll in particular was underwhelming visually--it looked nothing like the menu photos, which set a misleading expectation. That said, the core strength of the menu lies in its variety. There's a wide selection of cuts ranging from beef tongue and finger meat to pork belly, which gives diners the chance to explore different textures and flavors. The quality of the meat itself was generally good, though not exceptional across the board. One notable downside was the self-service station for sauces, drinks, and side dishes. At this price point, it feels out of place. Beyond concerns about cleanliness, it detracts from the overall dining experience--having to get up repeatedly doesn't align with the level of service you'd expect when spending close to $100 per person after tax and tip. It makes the experience feel more casual than the pricing suggests. Service: 2/10 Unfortunately, the service significantly detracted from the experience. We had an 8:30 PM reservation and arrived on time, but due to internal delays, we weren't seated until about 20-25 minutes later. While delays can happen, there was little effort made to compensate for the inconvenience. Once seated, our server did a decent job explaining the menu and tier system, but the experience quickly went downhill. Immediately after placing our first round of orders, we were informed that the kitchen would be closing in 30 minutes. For an "all-you-can-eat" restaurant--especially one at this price point--this is simply unacceptable. Most comparable establishments allow at least 75-90 minutes for ordering, which makes this restriction feel rushed and poorly managed. This time constraint forced us to speed through the meal, which completely undermined the enjoyment. To make matters worse, portion sizes were extremely small. For example, our table of four was limited to a single order of lamb chops, which consisted of just two pieces--hardly enough to share. As the meal went on, the pressure only increased. During last call, while I was still trying to finalize our order on the tablet, the server announced, "1 minute left," which felt unnecessarily abrupt and added to the already stressful atmosphere. By that point, the experience had shifted from enjoyable to frustrating. Ambiance: 8/10 The ambiance is where the restaurant really shines. From the moment you walk in, it's clear that a lot of thought and investment went into the design. The space channels a Japanese-inspired street food market aesthetic, complete with hanging signs, lanterns, and a lively yet casual atmosphere. The table setups are also well-executed. The built-in grills are high quality, and the seating is comfortable enough for a longer dining session--if only the service allowed for one. Some tables feature wooden partitions that add a sense of privacy, which is a nice touch. The inclusion of ordering tablets at each table is another highlight. We have lived in the area for about 15 years. The most recent restaurant in this location, The Woo, became our date night spot. We would take many, many friends over the years, but we would always reserve and visit for a date our special occasions Anniversary, Valentine's Day, New Years, etc. Unfortunately, this restaurant does not take reservations for two people. I understand it's a big ol' chain restaurant -- but there's nothing to make one feel like this is a tourist-catered spot only like not allowing two people to plan in advance in NYC, where people live jam-packed lives; it's not just vacationers, here, folks. The first floor was empty when we arrived at 6:15pm. Empty. And they quoted a 40-60min wait. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and guess that they're currently short-staffed for the soft open and the upstairs must have been packed. One hopes. Regardless, it's now been more than 1hr & 45mins since we walked in and we are still not off the wait list--and that's not due to lack of planning. Once again, they do not accept reservations for two-tops. They also do not have a bar to pop up at. I hope that's solely temporary due to the soft opening and time it can understandably take to get a license. We went elsewhere. And from the reviews we are seeing about the limitations on the A5 Wagyu, et al, we likely won't take the risk again (unless my super-disappointed sweet partner insists). We instead found ourselves at Chachatang on 6th Ave, which had excellent cocktails and food; we shared a phenomenal meal. Highly recommended. I generally, genuinely root for every new spot that opens in the neighborhood. We always to visit every new business we can. I went here for my birthday and it was so much fun. You have a touchscreen moniter/iPad to put the orders in. They did have servers walking around, although you are responsible for doing your own cooking to my current understanding. I had gotten the Gold(medium priced - $65 for member pricing and $78 for standard) which while very fun I would say does feel like a special occasion treat - as the items which I believe were on the Silver menu (cheapest - $49.99 member pricing and $58 for standard) had a wide variety of delicious good quality options. They sang happy birthday to me and had a banner which was quite fun - the ambiance felt friendly and approachable. I had an 8:30PM reservation, and our server let us know that they were closing down the unlimited station to make sure we got our desserts while we could. This place was insaaane -- all the hype is true. Every cut of meat we tried was incredible. My friends said the hand rolls were also amazing, and there was so much good-looking stuff on the menu I wanted to try, but since it was my first time, I wanted to keep it all beef. We went with the Gold Tier, and our waitress, Kasey, was fantastic. She put us onto her favorite cuts, which we ended up loading up on again and again -- especially the A5 Wagyu (unreal) and a few others she recommended. Solid first time at Chubby Cattle, and definitely not the last! Meat selection was super fresh and plentiful, and we were big fans of the tom yum soup on the side! Service was also great -- the hosts were warm and welcoming and our main server Kasey was very informative and helpful with the cooking and keeping an eye on our grill for changes. We went mid-afternoon and had a wait of 1.5 hours, but it was definitely worth it. Yelp doesn't allow 2 person reservations for whatever reason so we just walked by and put our names down. I also thought that 11 courses of wagyu-focused tasting would end up feeling too heavy, but the courses had enough variety that it never felt overwhelming. The meal started with lighter bites and gradually got richer, so it felt pretty balanced overall. One of the first dishes that impressed us was this wagyu scrambled egg topped served inside an eggshell. The egg was silky and creamy, with so much umami from the wagyu and caviar. Then the chef grilled this Tokyo negi wrapped in wagyu right in front of us. Next was the wagyu nigiri topped with caviar, torched to a perfect medium rare. Then they switched things up with this toro handroll stuffed with uni -- there was so much filling that the uni literally fell out when I took a bite. We chose the traditional sukiyaki as our main course, which was served in three different styles. My favorite was this fluffy egg meringue wagyu served with sukiyaki vegetables. The final savory course was a donburi. The gyudon was okay, exactly what you'd expect, but the toro uni ikura don was one of the best bites of the night with how premium and rich all the ingredients tasted.
