Oh yeah. My 2026 NYC trip......here we go. I will start my series of review with a 5 stars positive one. This one definitely came with a bit of surprise. Our hotel is right across the street. It was day 4 and we were packing for our return flight. I decided to have dinner around our hotel and Dallas BBQ just showed up first thing on my search. Here is the deal. for less than $60 buck, we got 2 decent trays of BBQ. This is NYC time square prime location. I just paid $19 dollars for a simple regular chipotle bowl + a bottle soda. Somehow, Dallas BBQ can sell banging meals for decent price. I think that this is even cheaper than some SoCal BBQ places for the amount of food we receive. The only reason it's getting a 3 is because the Knicks game was on & the vibes were lit. But besides that, I was disappointed. I haven't been since maybe 2013 or 2014 and now I remember why. I used to order the wings but they too big so didn't order that. Ordered the smokehouse bbq, brisket, pulled pork & ribs. The pulled pork was cool the brisket wasn't well done, the ribs were okay. The best thing was the baked potato. Now the drinks came out right away HOWEVER, the food took damn near an hour to come out. We almost left when it came out. It's a reason this place has been around for 48 years! You'll have some who say its not as good as when they first opened but honey let me tell you they are GOODT! Some will also say it's a tourist trap but I honestly believe it depends on what your looking for in your dining experience. I also don't think it's fair to compare it to any BBQ you'd find in the State of Texas. There are key differences between Dallas BBQ v Real Authentic Texas BBQ. There's a difference in meat selection, cooking methods and sauce. It's more about the experience than "pure" BBQ. The most Texas thing about this spot is the size of their portions with food and drinks being huge. Also, if your looking for complex culinary, sophisticated, and upscale, this ain't it. If your looking for quiet, nope not here. Yet it surpasses today's run of the mill standards of good quality comfort food affordably priced. I purposely did not eat anything all day just so I could enjoy all my faves such as the sticky wings, cornbread and the turkey chilli. First off you cannot come here and not order the wings! It was my friends first time dining here and when she read the menu she thought the wings were going to be those tiny rinky dink flats and drums, but no ma'am! These are nice size WHOLE WINGS. Attempting to eat all 5 of them will have your belly popping out of your shirt and have you snoring at the table! I can eat 4 on an empty stomach but 5 is a lot especially if your eating anything else or drinking. So if you want to try other menu items get them to share or just be prepared to take some home. The Hennessey wings are good but after eating two of them the flavor is a bit overwhelming to me. You will not find a better chilli than theirs!! Their chilli is so flavorful without being spicy hot. I love that I can enjoy their chilli, it's the right texture, consistency, well seasoned and you can tell its good quality ground turkey. The drinks are lit! Generous amount of alcohol. Everything is TEXAS size even if your ordering something as basic as an apple juice! lol I guarantee you will not need to ask your waiter for a refill. Trust me! One major upgrade they need to do here is to the women's bathroom. I can't speak for the men's room except that there's never a line for it. Meanwhile the line hangs outside the women's bathroom and into the walkway of the restaurant. Its just not enough stalls to accommodate guests for a restaurant this size. The midtown location is MASSIVE seating between 500-800 people across three levels. However, there's literally only about 5 or 6 stalls in the women's bathroom. That ratio is way off. Anyhoo besides that this place rocks. Solid service and good food. read more

Came for dinner after a Broadway show, it was not crowded but the wait was incredible slow. 15 minutes for water, another for drinks and over an hour to get our food. We had wings, ribs, Mac and cheese, shrimp and cod. I thought the sticky wings were good but the Hennessy wings were not special at all, just basic BBQ. Stopped in here before catching a play nearby and it turned out to be a convenient spot to grab a quick bite. The space is large, with multiple floors and plenty of seating, which was a nice surprise considering how busy the Times Square area can get. I was very disappointed in my visit to Dallas BBQ. I arrived feeling very badly and in a visibly poor physical condition. After laying down for two minutes on a bench in the waiting area the manager approached me. I explained that I was waiting for the rest of my party to be seated and laying down for a couple minutes due to my disability. He told me that I was not allowed to do this and it "looked very ugly". At one point while waiting for my party I started feeling horrible so I sat on some stairs around the corner from the waiting area away from view as to not make a scene and where I would not obstruct staff members from walking. The woman seating parties yelled at me and rudely chided me for sitting over there even though I was obviously weak, having difficulty walking and visibly not doing well physically. I went back to sitting on the bench in the waiting area where another woman yelled at me and then glared at me while gesturing in my direction while she whispered to a coworker seemingly about me. I have been disable for 9 years and have never been treated so poorly and disrespectfully by staff at a restaurant. The total time I was waiting for my party was less than ten minutes. Our actual server was a delight and kind. He even picked up on a birthday in our party even though no one mentioned it to him and it was not being discussed at the table and there were no flowers or gifts that would indicate a celebration was taking place. He brought us a complementary dessert and sang to the person celebrating a birthday in our group. The food was also good and while I would like to give a higher rating due to our great server, the behavior of the manager and front of house staff was unacceptable and disrespectful. read more

After a long day of traveling into the city, this was a decent spot to stop for lunch before exploring the big city. It's a great option if you're unsure where to dine. I especially loved the complimentary cake pops at the end of our meal , such a nice touch! We were in Times Square acting like tourists and decided to stop in for a late lunch. We were seated right away which was easy because this location is huge!! They have seating upstairs and downstairs which was nice. There were several large groups there but you would never notice based on how fast the food came out! Our waitress was nice. We ordered the infamous Hennessey wings which were huge. Very nice sized full wings. Me and my sister ordered a side of Cole slaw and my friend ordered the Mac and cheese which had crumbled bacon on top. Like I said, everything came out quickly and hot. The drinks were OK. $10.99 for a regular margarita was a bit much especially since the cup wasn't regular sized. All in all, it was a good dining experience at this location. Definitely check it out if you're close to Times Square and want some good food. Sidenote: I don't know if it was something special for the holidays or something they regularly do but there was a photographer walking around offering to take a free picture. At the end of the meal, they brought us our free picture in addition to some for purchase. One they manipulated into Pixar version! It was so cute and very nice. Here we go, So for Dallas BBQ this is the prime location. Right in Times Square. Great location. Always ,Always crowded. The only negative would be is that the bathroom is not all that great. Dallas BBQ in Times Square is a must have when visiting NYC. You can start with any cocktail (make sure to get it Texas or Super Texas size) and you will get your money's worth. It's been a while since I've went to Dallas BBQ. I wanted to enjoy a nice drink after a long day. I met up with my friend. I ordered the Tripple D Texas size drink which had Hennessy Colada, shots of Dusse and the Dusse sidecar. The drink was very good and enjoyable. For my appetizer I ordered the Angry Shrimp. It was well prepared and delicious. The server was very helpful and attentive. The restaurant was not noisy at all as it was a Tuesday evening. It was a friday night but it wasn't too many people inside surprisingly. Some of our orders got a little mixed up but overall everything else came out well. The food was good but I feel like portion size of their food drastically decreased from how it used to be. As my drink I got the patron passion paradise. There was a person who meet us as we went up the escalator and escorted us to our table. 1 star - Food tasted good but was not warm enough. The prices were reasonable. Popped in over here on Mother's Day based off of mom's request. We were immediately sat after being able to see the entire restaurant size (truly it is massive). The escalator was down so we took the steps up the exit as instructed. The theming as we walked through has a lot of bison and random art which was cool to see. The restroom was surprisingly small and felt very tight even though this establishment was huge. Also poorly lit. Once seated we glanced over the menu and I opted for a beer (the one I originally ordered they said they didn't have) a beyond burger and a baked potato. Overall the food was mediocre. You could only get butter, sour cream and cheese with the potato (I asked for chives and was told they didn't have that). The burger was bland and nothing to remember. They gave us free donuts? "Hands down, the best BBQ in town!" If you are looking for authentic, mouth-watering BBQ, look no further. This place is the real deal! The Food: Absolutely incredible. I tried the baby back ribs and stake and it was perfectly smoky with a beautiful bark, and so tender it practically melted. The ribs fell right off the bone, and you can tell they take their time with the slow-smoking process. Don't sleep on the sides either--the fries and cornbread were the perfect companions to the meat. The Service: What really set this place apart was the hospitality. Even though they were busy, the staff was attentive, fast, and incredibly welcoming. Our server (TALIB) gave us great recommendations on the sauces and made sure our drinks were never empty. The Atmosphere: Clean, high-energy, and smells like heaven the second you walk through the door. It's clear the owners take great pride in both their kitchen and their dining room. I ordered a single beef rib dinner with a baked potato as a side which also came with cornbread. I also ordered a side of coleslaw. The rib was huge and incredibly good. It was moist with the right amount of fat. It was covered in a very nice BBQ sauce. The baked potato was a different story. It came wrapped in aluminum foil. The only condiment provided was a very small container of sour cream. Butter was provided upon request. It was quite clear that the potato had been overheld for some time. I only finished half. The cold slaw was quite large and had just the right amount of dressing. Dallas BBQ is well known with several locations. I would think they would know how to make a better presentation. read more

I ordered the House Special, which consisted of baby back ribs, fried shrimp, sirloin steak, cornbread, crispy onion, along with a side of my choice. I went with the Fries, but should've gone with rice, as the Fries were soggy and not flavorful. I did enjoy the Fried Shrimp, Cornbread, and the Ribs. These were not your typical wing pieces, but whole wings. I received a drum, flat, and tip 5 times, and they were massive. I visited this place for the first time today while I was in NY seeing a play on Broadway. The atmosphere was inviting, we were seated immediately and our food came out really quickly after we ordered. The biggest problem was the food was not good...at all...the cornbread was so dry and unflavorful that we couldn't eat it... should have known not to get chicken in a bbq place, but my friend said hers was dry and bland. The mac and cheese was so runny that even adding salt and pepper could not make it more palatable. The only redeeming qualities of the meal were the ribs, and the Hennessy Coladas.
