Service was friendly/fast and you can have the option of cooking yourself of having them cook for you. For meats we got the Ribeye, Boneless rib, Galbi, Bulgogi and a few other beef items that all hit. I was definitely feeling the meat sweats by the end. I personally enjoyed the ribeye and boneless rib the most, but I really don't think you can go wrong with any beef choice. It's clear they are definitely using very quality cuts of beef across the board. They also have pork options, but we opted to not do that since we felt it was less value, but just another meat to consider. The space is quite big. There aren't any fans to soak up all the smoke so you'll still leave smelling a little bit like meat, but definitely not as bad as some other places I've been to. I do wish they had somewhere I could put my coat. Would've been great if they had under-seat storage to throw my coat and bag into so it didn't smell by the end. Overall though, I'd definitely recommend checking this place out if you're craving kbbq. Definitely pricier, but all the ingredients are quality. The bulgogi was cooked to perfection, and I enjoyed all the sides including my favorite the kimchi. I didn't get to enjoy the salad so I took it home with the rest of my bulgogi. The first time I came here years ago I vowed to be back. I have been to Korean BBQS all around and none of them match this places vibe. I love that the workers here get to know you, everyone is nice, friendly and willing to help you have a good time always. In the middle of the city you never expect kindness like I've received here. This time around I ordered different things and as usual everything tasted amazing. This time we had the server cook the food for us which turned out to be quicker and more effective so I do recommend that if you're not too excited to cook yourself. There are many bbq places in the city but the food here is quality and never leaves me with a stomach ache like I've gotten at other places. They have an option for AYCE ($100 for 90 min) or a la carte, and we opted for a la carte. We got the beef set A which included an option for boneless rib, tenderloin, or Denver steak. We opted for the boneless rib. The set also comes with ribeye, brisket, skirt steak, rib finger and bulgogi! It also comes with an option of sides and we opted for the cheese steamed egg. Our table was of six people so we were seated downstairs, a pretty place with dim lights and lots of big tables. Service was fast and they explained everything well, but there was some difficulty with communication about the drinks. Twice we asked for a bottle of sparking water and we had to ask multiple times, as if we were ignored (lol); a friend ordered a drink and was brought a glass of wine by mistake. No problem, they changed it. But both that drinks and my old fashioned tasted like straight up gasoline. Probably having some wine would have been better. But they had these drinks on the menu so I thought it was weird that their execution was so poor. The servers were fairly attentive to my table and the food came out quick. My friends and I came in during the weekday and got their lunch special which was a la carte. I ordered the Pork Belly and Cheese Steam Egg. Since I got their lunch special "meat," the Pork Belly was already grilled for me. It was really good! The cut was thick and juicy. I just dipped the pork belly in salt and ate it with rice and it was tasted great. I do think that the order of Pork Belly was too much for me to finish on my own, but I have a small stomach. The Cheese Steam Egg was not to my taste. It had truffle oil of sorts on the top and I think there was too much cheese. The egg was also cooked thoroughly and it tasted more like an omelette as opposed to a steamed egg at KBBQ. The sides were good and I especially liked their kimchi as it was spicy. The service was very quick and efficient, but when it comes to kbbq, it does feel like they're rushing you often. This is heavily emphasized when they are cooking the meats for you - which from what I understand, is a tactic to get customers out faster since they're able to cook all the meats faster which nudges customers to eat more too. I'm sure that we had the option to request that we cook ourselves, but I believe the default is when they cook for you. Some people might think its better service when they cook for you, but I'd argue that it takes away from the experience. Now to the actual food, it was good. I was impressed by the steamed eggs the most of out the banchans. I do wish that they provided more banchans since we had a relatively large group. The meats were also good! Pork belly was my favorite for sure. The cuts were good quality, but surprisingly the flavor was kind of lacking. So you're probably wondering, why is this three stars? Simply because I don't think it was worth the price. I'm benchmarking against all kbbq I've had before which I can totally see isn't fair and should only be compared against other Manhattan locations. But I just didn't feel like my life changed after pay $117 out the door for the food and drinks of one person. My group did a la carte so maybe I should have done AYCE instead to make it feel like it was worth the experience. I could also see how this was a skill issue on my part. It came with 6 meats and 3 sides and some rice. I had eaten a large lunch so I wasn't starving when I had the food and it was a decent portion for how much they gave considering we managed to split everything. I personally don't mind splurging for food every once in a while, but at the same time this didn't seem worth it. I'd prefer to go elsewhere next time. My friend and I got the marinated kalbi and marinated bulgogi here, and the kalbi was definitely better than the bulgogi. The kalbi had multiple cuts made within the meat, allowing the marinade to deeply penetrate the meat. The bulgogi, on the other hand, was bland and dry (1 star off), almost as if it was never marinated. When the staff cooked it for us, she only cooked it until no longer pink; there was no char as she did with the kalbi. It says it's for 4-5 people but it was definitely more than enough for the 6 of us and you had to roll me out of there lol. Came with four friends and we all purchased the $100 all you can eat deal. Little did we know we weren't told that for that deal, we would have to cook our own food! We were used to other Korean bbq places that cooked the meats for us so once the meats we chose came, we literally sat there for ten minutes hoping our waiter will notice we were ready. We also observed other waiters were tending to other patrons and cooking for them, all except for us. Even our original waiter seemed irritated that we asked for help so I decided to ask the hostess what the procedure was. For $100, you would expect they would at least prep the meat for us. It was such a bummer that the first couple of meats we had burned because we weren't guided that we had to use the sitting pork fat to oil our grill. Finally, another waiter saw we were struggling and finally helped us out. Shoutout to that waiter coz if it wasn't for him, our whole dinner would have been ruined. They also are not very diligent in replacing our banchon sides and would let our plates pile up, creating a mess on our table.
