I swore I would never go to a Chuck E Cheese, but then our daughter started having friends, and the friends started talking to each other, forever ruining our Chuck E Cheese-free existence. The food is abysmal. It's SO BAD that even though I was starving, after I took one bite out of the food I couldn't finish it. And I'm not a picky eater. PROS: Our daughter loves the rides. Just hosted our second party there today. Been to SEVERAL others in the last few years. Every time it has been great, but I have to say in the last year or so they've REALLY put out more effort. Hints: Book an EARLY party. Yep. 9:30, 10 am are the BEST party slots. Why? Cause you are the only ones there! The place is generally going to be empty, you get bonus tokens for booking early in the day party and everything is super clean cause no one has been there yet to make a mess. You don't have to be hyper vigilant on the kids because you can actually SEE them (since there's no one else's kids there!). Our party host was attentive, and friendly to all of the children. She did all the work, I did NADA! She passed out pizza, poured drinks, cut the cake, served it, etc. I've been to parties at other party places where the host didn't do 1/2 that! Best of all? SUPER affordable! Party for 6 kids, two pizzas, a cake, 20 tokens per kid PLUS 20 bonus (online booking) and 100 bonus (first party of the day), cost me $120 out the door. I had my nephews birthday party at this location and it was a lot of fun. The lady that was our host was very polite and very helpful. She cheer some of the little kids that were being shy. Celebrating your son's birthday is so wonderful but in the day of the event it could be stressful so many parents choose to host the event in a location that can help you with all details that a party must have. I did that for my son's 3rd birthday. My family and I choose chuck n cheese. We decided that would be better if we get the expensive package so everything was covered. Well so many things were offer in the package and I found that they fail us as a customer. Let's talk about them. The time they give you is 2 hours of play they ask you how many children and how many adults. The first 45 minutes children would go play with the cards they give you!. Then the kids will get there pizza, cake, ice cream, show, piñata etc. That should take 45 minutes. There package offers pizza, drink, dip in dots, string piñata, surprises, shirt for the birthday boy, etc. Ok I did my event in Redwood City location I feel that they overbook birthdays or they have not enough people to help you with all the details of the party. I love that I was able to book my son's birthday over the Internet and I though that will give me more easiness to go in. I got the the place when in and I was told I had to wait in the long line where the people without reservations go. I waited there and then they told me I had to go to the birthday area and look for my table but they just when and got my host. She took us to one table that did not had my son's name anywhere but she was sure it was his. Some of my friends that arrived early were looking for the table too. The table did not had a name and that's a fail for me. Then check n cheese had the gifts for the birthday boy and it came with a cardboard frame to take pictures I ask if I could have my sons t-shirt that I selected for the package and that he was size s. He is 3 and they gave him a xl. First big mistake. Then I ask for a marker to put my son's name on the frame. We had only one table so I ask if we were getting the table next to us( currently that table has a lot of food left over from the previews party) the host said yes that's the table for us and that she will clean it soon. It was 1:54 kids were playing but I had all the adults trying to find a place to sit. My brother when and talk to the manager and ask why is it that the table is not ready. They came fast clean the table and that's it no decorations. Another thing that happen is that we had a cake we did for my son and I ask when can I put my sons cake they told just to the size but they did not specified and next to me there was another party. At last I got my marker for the board. They set the cake and they ask if I wanted the ice cream now I told them yes please. All the kids where exited to have dip in dots but no chuck n cheese instead gave me regular ice cream! If I know I would had brought my own. Another mistake. Then when the piñata came I notice that the piñata next to us had a chuck n cheese picture and stings like they said but mine did not had that. They explain the piñata cannot be hit due to security ok I understand that but why is not a string? They just shake it and that's it. The piñata was not destroyed so why I was not ask if I wanted to keep it? On you can see so many bad things. The surprises in the package show in a fancy bag but when I get it it had halloween toys and Christmas and it was so generic that I could had done that. The host at the beginning was not available to me for a long time but ask soon as my brother talk with the manage she was there but are we not paying for help in this day! I am sorry but it is cheaper that other choices but I will make sure I don't go there again and I make sure all my friends, Facebook, yelp, etc knows. My son would say 5 stars but I say 2 stars (i'm being nice). Yesterday we visited Chuck E Cheese; he had a great time; he mastered the tunnel and the slide, took advantage of all of the balls within his reach to throw, banged, clicked, squeezed and slapped until exhausted. Ran in circles with the other little kiddos. He got several personal hugs from Chuck E. The unfortunate experience was with the staff and the kitchen. After inquiring twice about our food order and faced with complete unprofessional disrespect, I asked for a refund. We left hungry the service really needs attention. read more

My 3 year old LOVES this place. If you're lucky to see one of Chuck E's appearances, say hi to the manager Kiki, she makes the experience worthwhile. Few people that work with kids non-stop has the energy and enthusiasm she does. Sometimes the games don't work 100%, but what do you expect when kids are hammering on them every second of the day. Does my son love it overall? Yes. He doesn't know any better as he's 6. For decades Chuck E Cheese has been going down hill fast and it really is amazing it' remained in business. Some other chain for kids needs to take over asap because Chuck E Cheese literally is where the most scummy and sketchy humans come and from every spectrum. It's dirty in the whole place evertytime I take my son there. Never in a million years would I be so strapped for cash to throw a birthday party there! OMG! There food is the lowest quality and their pizza doesn't even taste anything like pizza! 1 out of every 4 games is broken and most don't even let you know before you have put your token in and then good luck trying to find an employee to help you. Sometimes it is so jam packed in there that it's next to impossible to keep track of your child. There's no employees monitoring the place to make sure kids are not doing things they aren't supposed to because the low class parents sure don't give a damn. Hate coming here! i've been going to chuck e cheese's all over the bay area since i was a kid and this one by far is the worst! I don't know if it's because of the terrible workers, the damage the locals have done to this place, the fear of getting sick just by walking in , or the tasteless food. It's expected any place that is meant for children will have kids running all over the place being kids but this place was just over the top crazy. There were preteens up in the tubes meant for the smaller children and it looked like they were about to have the ceiling fall off. I had my daughter's birthday here the past Sunday. The host did not give my daughter the cape and the tiara. Also, we didn't have the birthday board on table either. The host had no smile at all times and didn't even say thank when she took my credit card. There was only 1 other party at the time which only had like 6 people, so they were not busy at all! No utensils were provided; I had to take it from another table. Basically, don't expect there will be any kind of customer service. I have been going to this place for years. Probably a couple of times per month, but lately it has been really under staffed. Then the manager (this white mid 40s guy) tried to sell tokens to everyone coming in... but he would only accept cash... meaning he was trying to make money on the side. He was very pushy when offering them. I told him we had our own from the time before but still kept following us. Really unprofessional. The pizza takes fooooooorrr ever and it is really cheap on the toppings. Usually all the employees are rude and mean. Would not recommend. read more

I personally love this Chucky Cheese, my 2 year old son and I go there once a week. It allows me to relax and even play some games, and he can go crazy and get all of his energy out. Even my sister who doesnt have kids joins us for some Wine and gaming. It works for us. The food is actually pretty good, and the salad bar always looks clean and filled. The staff is always welcoming and the manager Dan is always taking care of the place, walkng around asking if everyone is ok, he fixes game quickly and reloads tickets, and really cares about the place. This place is a freakin nightmare. Fun for the kids but even the entertainment is limited for them. Tons of video games but its lacking the big play structures with ball pits that we are all used to at chuck e cheese. Pizza is some of the worst ive had and a lot of the staff look unhappy. Came around early lunchtime on a Sunday in July. Surprisingly, it was pretty empty. Workers were available, and not terribly busy. Pizza was pretty good. The games were pretty fun, although a good third of them had "issues," ie they ate your token, or didn't work well, or didn't dispense tickets properly. The little prize area where you redeem tickets is kinda a joke...the prizes are pretty weak, but overall, still fun to earn tickets and try to buy a little plastic trinket. I love chuck E cheese's and so do both my kids. Its a nice reprieve from the snobbery of suburbs that surround it. Perhaps my positive sentiment is misguided here because I always wanted a bday party at CEC when I was growing up but it never happened. My 2 kids have fun every time we go. Never had a bad experience. We even had my older son's bday party here once and it was fun. I can stomach the food, but lets face it you don't come to CEC for the food. One of the better CEC's in the Bay Area. Went on the Monday evening for dinner, crowd was average with a birthday party in progress. The location where my child had his birthday was filthy including diapers on the floor. I was embarrassed to throw a party here. The people that work at this location are barely alive, lack enthusiasm, clearly do not care about creating a good experience, unorganized. Our party hostess did not help us with anything except for cutting the cake. I had to ask for everything. When I tried to complain the manager would not even come out to talk to me. Also, the 1000 tokens listed on the website as part of the package is completely misleading if your kid has to find it in the ticket blaster. I will never go back to the Redwood City Chuck E. Cheese. I may never go back to any Chuck E. Cheese. I will definitely advise friends against holding a party there. I would rather pay a little more and get quality, enthusiasm, and help (which is what you expect). There are many other places to go that provide a nice experience. I did get a $70.00 refund after much complaining but I would have preferred good service and a fun experience. read more
