I got a slice of pizza and it was not great. I honestly cannot remember the name but it was possibly the slice of the day. It was super greasy and fell apart when I picked it up. I literally had to eat it with a fork. It might just be a quality issue with the individual slices because I've never had this issue when ordering whole boxes of pizza there. Other than that the staff was nice, I only had to wait less than 10 min for my slice, and the location was clean.

Slice House is a regular in our rotation of pizzerias. I'm so happy to see more locations popping up around the Bay Area. I placed on online order around 6:15 pm on a Saturday night for two medium pizzas and was surprised to see that the order wasn't going to be ready until 7:35 pm. I called them to confirm and was told they were super busy so the online time quoted was correct. We arrived around 7:30 and the pizzas were ready. Since I paid online, pick-up was pretty speedy minus the line of people in front of me picking up their orders. The cashier was really nice and showed me the two pizzas to make sure they were the correct ones. The location is fairly small, but there are a few tables for dining in. Since this location is in strip mall, parking is pretty easy.

The pizza here at Slice House by Tony Gemignani was delicious!! We got there about an hour before closing and ordered the Detroit style Motorhead. It was baked fresh and took about 25 minutes but it was worth the wait! It was loaded with delicious pepperoni, bacon, sausage, salami, mushrooms, basil, and topped with ricotta. The pizza was cut into 4 large slices. As you can see in one of the photos, it was nearly the size of the paper plate and the crust was incredible. If you prefer not to wait as long as we did, you can also order slices from the window. They'll reheat them in the oven for a few minutes. Although the menu offers nearly 30 choices, it's worth taking your time to find the right pizza, as there's something for everyone. All pizzas can be made in several style crusts including NY Style M/XL, Detroit, Grandma, Sicilian. There have a couple of tables inside that can seat 4, most were 2-seaters or bar top seating in the back. They do, however, have an outdoor patio. The restaurant was clean and about 15 minutes before closing the employees were diligently sweeping and mopping the floors. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in the Belmont area!

Service was good and fairly quick for a slice house. Inside was nicely lit and fairly clean although I did have to wipe my own table down.... The pizza was good and crusts were good. The Grandma style Sweet Gino was good and the sauce was yummy. The chicken bacon ranch was so oily....even if it was the garlic oil they add on top, it was a little too much. I had to dab it off before eating cause my mind was saying it was too much haha. Our main complaint was the price. It comes out to like $8-$9 per slice which is a bit much.....I can get better tasting and bigger slices in Palo Alto for cheaper. Not sure if we'll be back because of that.

    Meatball sub
    Michele T.

Was craving a meatball sub, so I was excited to try this one at Slice House. Placed my order online and it noted 40 minutes before my order would be ready. That was a long time but did not see an option to cancel. Headed over in 15 mins by the off chance it would be ready earlier and it was ready for pick up when I arrived. It was hot when i picked it up - concerned that if I'd waited the full 40 mins it would not have been hot. 3 meatballs in the sub. Hard to pick up to eat. The meatballs were good and the bread was toasty, but I think I would've liked more mozzarella. It was ok.

    Motorhead on Detroit style crust
    Alison V.

The Motorhead on Detroit style crust was divine - thick but not dry, with the perfect amount of tomato sauce and an addictive crunch. I also tried the Burrata Queen on New York crust, and it was subtly sweet with a mildly spicy aftertaste. I will say, the New York crust was much thicker and chewier than expected. I still loved it though. Seating is a hot mess - only like 5 large tables, no line and minimal service. Because of this, I deducted 1 star.

My first time trying Detroit style pizza, and if this is what it is, I definitely should visit Detroit! The pizza crust was soft and fluffy with crispy cheese on the outside! I love their tomato sauce and it was really the star of the pizza. Although this pizza looks small, it's quite dense. My bf and I can never finish it and always have a slice and a half left. This is our go to order! We've tried the other styles, like the classic NY and Sicilian, but this one satisfies our pizza cravings! The service is great! The staff is always welcoming and friendly, and you can tell they really want to help you. This location has some tables inside. Personally, I've always ordered to go. All in all, a great place with delicious pizza! I'll come back next time I have a pizza craving.

Best pizza I've ever had. The crust is flavorful and the size of each slice is ginormous. I just wish that they were customizable! Tony Gemignani is like the Taylor Swift of pizza spots, this guy knows his stuff and has won so many awards! This isn't your average run of the mill American pizza chain. I was blown away by the dough. I've ordered the Hawaiian Hit Man and BBQ Chicken and I love that the pineapple isn't in chunks, it's in thinly sliced rings that help distribute the sweetness of the flavor more evenly throughout each bite. Think of adding salt to broth prior versus after- you get a better distribution with the former, but more concentrated flavor with the latter. The BBQ sauce was drizzled on top of the BBQ chicken which looked appealing but there was definitely less- my boyfriend was scared that it would be too sweet but they applied the sauce with a relatively light hand! We also got cannoli with pistachios and a sea salt chocolate chip cookie- both of which were really good. The cannoli had a nice texture to the shell and the cookie was definitely more chewy than cakey, if you prefer a cookie with more butter than more flour this is definitely for you.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the pizzas you choose from Slice House! It just depends on what kind of pizza you're craving. I'm usually a fan of NY style pizza. I've tried two different NY style pizzas, the motorhead and the burrata queen. I'm excited to try their detroit style as well. I've ordered online and it's ready by they're set time. When I place it for "ASAP", it gives me a 40 min estimated pickup so just keep that in mind if you're wanting to order it actually ASAP. Parking is a hit or miss bc it's in such a tiny plaza with other busy businesses. It really depends on what time of the day you're there. I've been there at 6pm picking up for dinner and it's horrid. I've also been there at 12pm on a weekend and it's fine. Good thing there's nearby parking in the plaza right across the street or street parking. Maybe just don't go into the plaza when you see a ton of cars just waiting for someone to leave.

I stopped by Slice House on a whim, not knowing anything about the place or that it was a chain. I was just hungry and making a pit stop from my usual weekend estate sale treasure hunting. I happened to see it next door to the Starbucks I was at and figured a NY-style slice would hit the spot. Walking in, I was pleasantly surprised by the decor and the accolades the owner has received for his pizzas. The space was clean with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the staff was friendly. Their display case showcased a variety of slices including NY, Sicilian, Detroit, and Grandma which was a nice touch. They also have an app with ordering and rewards, which is convenient. If I come back for a quick lunch, a simple NY cheese slice would be my go-to. It's big, has a solid undercarriage, the cheese and sauce stay in place, and there's no excessive grease, everything I look for in a good slice. The slices are definitely picture-friendly, and I love how they place the toppings on each one, but I personally prefer a place that really loads them up. Their Detroit-style pizza is decent, made with fresh ingredients and in-house pizza sauce, but for the taste and amount of toppings, I'd personally prefer a Joyride Pizza slice. Joyride does all that and more with a tangier red sauce that stands out. Overall, a solid spot for a quick, satisfying slice.

I was recommended this spot by a co-worker because i work over the bridge, and I absolutely loved it! The food is amazing! I got the chicken bacon ranch deep dish and the cheese one! It was soooo unique. The atmosphere was great, the smells of Italian food makes my mouth water thinking about it all over again. The service was super helpful, great attention in suggesting certain "pies" and man did they not disappoint. Clearly if i forgot to take a picture before devouring the food but i did get picture of our leftovers lol

    Cal Italia (Grandma crust)
    Priscilla W.

I love how Slice House has four crust options: NY, Detroit, Sicilian, and Grandma. We shared the Cal Italia with Grandma crust (4 slices) and the Combo Americano with NY crust (12", 6 slices). The Cal Italia was decent and worth the try. It had strong, pungent flavor from the three different cheeses balanced with salty prosciutto and sweet and tangy flavors from the balsamic glaze. However, we enjoyed the Combo Americano more, as toppings were abundant and each bite was meaty, salty, and had fresh and colorful crunch from the bell peppers and onions. There's several pizza toppings to choose from and the different crust options caters to your carb-craving preference. Pizza can take up to 20 minutes to make, so plan accordingly. They have a small, shared parking lot with other shops in the Belmont Village shopping complex.

I absolutely love this pizza place near me and highly recommend it to anyone! Specifically, this slice house in Belmont is fantastic. The staff is always so friendly and welcoming. This is my fourth time here in December (I had it last night, 12/31/2024), and I had to leave a review. The pizza selection is great, and as someone originally from the East Coast (New York and New Jersey), this place reminds me of the famous Joe's Pizza in NYC, but with even better ingredients! Please give it a try--you won't regret it! FYI, they do get super busy during peak meal times, so if you want to enjoy your meal on time, I recommend ordering ahead!

Slice House by Tony Gemignani Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Slice House by Tony Gemignani

Is this the same as Capo’s in San Francisco? Do they sell whole pizza of their Chicago deep dish pizza?

Great question! Yes Slice House is also by Tony Gemignani. The menu does vary a bit from Capos but you can buy pizza by the slice or by the whole pie.

    Are there senior discounts?

Do you have pizza without cheese? I don't care for non dairy cheese flavor

The purple haze is cheeseless, though I would bouble check with the staff as there could be some in the pesto sauce. In any case, they will make anything without cheese.

Do you offer gluten free pizza?

    They do not.

How much is one piece of pizza?

It varies on the type and toppings but the slices are huge. Most are around $5.50

Can one order a Pizza that is half of this, and half of that?

I tried to order half cheese half pepperoni and was told they don't customize. This was the case as of Dec 2021.

Do they offer a gluten free crust?

There is a gluten free crust that's 12 inch that comes in NY style

I asked for 4 slices to go and when I got home there was only 2 slices in the box. Is each regular slice (which are big) considered two slices?

NO. I got two slices the other day and it took up the entire small pizza box. You got hosed out of two slices.

You can truly sit back, take your time, and enjoy the wines at your own pace. The wines themselves are fantastic, and I appreciate the variety they offer. It's clear there's a lot of care and quality behind every pour. I also love that they have food available, which makes it easy to turn a tasting into a full experience. Their patio is another huge plus--spacious, inviting, and dog-friendly, which is perfect for me. Bringing my dog, Chanel along makes the experience even better. On top of all that, the service is always warm, attentive, and welcoming. You really feel taken care of here. If you're looking for a great local winery with amazing wine, a relaxed atmosphere, and thoughtful service, Domenico Winery is a gem. Highly recommend!

I made several excuses, reluctantly agreed, and was fully prepared to say, "I told you so." Well. I was wrong. My son ordered the linguine with clams and loved it. He ate every single bite, which is always the most convincing review in our family. I had the kale salad and the hot honey pizza. Both were solid, not life-changing, but very good. The real star of the evening was our server, an affable older Italian gentleman who made the entire meal feel warm and effortless. There was one mix-up with the salad, and I was initially brought something with apples and blue cheese. I hate blue cheese. He apologized immediately, corrected it without any fuss, and left the other salad with us on the house. Also, the bread. Warm focaccia and ciabatta served with balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and garlic. We inhaled two baskets and showed absolutely no restraint. So yes, after eight years, Vivace has earned a complete reversal from me. My reluctant Father's Day dinner turned into a genuinely lovely evening. The son was right, which I will admit publicly just this once.

Five stars isn't enough. Yelp should create a special category called "I'd let these people babysit…read moremy children." I've been to a lot of Italian restaurants. Some have great food. Some have great service. Vivace somehow has both, plus a staff so absurdly kind that I'm beginning to suspect they're running some sort of hospitality cult. Let's start with Kevin behind the bar. Kevin is calm, knowledgeable, and seemingly incapable of making a bad drink or a customer unhappy. If Jon Hamm and a perfectly crafted Old Fashioned had a child, it would be Kevin. He's got the charm of the guy you'd proudly introduce to your parents and the confidence of someone who already knows they'll love him. Then there's Dana, who may very well be the best bartender on the Peninsula. Her drinks are fantastic, but it's her personality that steals the show. She's so friendly that spending five minutes talking with her feels like you've wandered into an episode of Leave It to Beaver. If you're too young for that reference, just know you'll instantly feel welcome and probably leave wondering why everyone else in your life can't be that nice. Mike, the owner, is the kind of person who restores your faith in humanity. He treats you like an old friend even if you've never met him before. The man would probably give you the shirt off his back if you needed it, and somehow he'd make you feel like he was the one getting the better deal. Arrick, the lead server, is so unbelievably nice that at first I assumed it was an act. Nope. That's just who he is. He's friendly, attentive, professional, and somehow manages to make every table feel important. Sure, he's a good golfer and handsome enough to make your significant other suddenly take an interest in Italian cuisine, but I refuse to hold that against him. And finally, Linda at the front. What an absolute sweetheart. From the moment you walk in, she makes you feel like family. Not the Sopranos kind of family where someone disappears after dinner. The good kind of family where everyone eats too much, laughs too hard, and leaves happier than they arrived. The food is excellent. The atmosphere is wonderful. But the people are what make Vivace special. Come for the pasta...Stay because apparently every employee here was personally selected in a nationwide search for the nicest human beings alive.

This place deserved a review awhile ago as this is now my 3rd time back to experience with stretches in between (I moved around a bit, nothing personal!) This last time though for sure deserves all the stars! We decided to come here because my kiddos wanted pizza AND pasta. As it once was said, "Hey! Give them want they want!"... we had just finished a play date so serious hunger was upon us. Pazzo came to mind and I had never taken the kids with me so we just went for it, and thank you brick oven gods for leading us straight to you. It was quite busy and we lucked out getting a seat quickly, we were met with the sweetest most understand cool waiter (a young gent) that saw my kids ravenous faces and helped get us settled and eating quick! His service was beyond and I am super regretting for forgetting his name! We ordered 1 Caesar salad so good kids asked for another. For meal ordered 2 seafood linguinis and a sausage pizza. Everything was just delicious and just right...you can't beat the atmosphere which is loud (not obnoxiously) and family and fun date friendly! This place has a following and you should get on it too if you haven't yet tried!

There were already several persons at the tables. We ordered the Margarita pizza, beet and arugola salad, and arancini. I would like to say that it met our expectations, but sadly we were not impressed. While the pizza had a nice crispy thin crust, the meager topping lacked flavor and was on the dry side. The beet salad could have more beers and dressing, and the arancini were on the bland side. i'm glad we tried the restaurant and I don't know what all the hoopla is about.. PS: Pazzo means crazy in italian .

It's been a long time since I've been so impressed with an Italian buffet ! We stared with a huge spread of anti pasta dishes - the rolled eggplant was amazing - the caprese salad was so fresh and amazing -pesto on toast was also a hit - the fresh mozzarella and prosciutto was amazing everything we had was excellent! The pasta course another hit - they make their own spinach ravioli and you can tell - I'm not usually a fan of ravioli but I had 3 beautiful plump raviolis - the marinara sauce yummy! Gnocchi my favorite- soft tender pillows with a beautiful cream sauce excellent! At this point I was FULL yet we still had the entree course - had a very small taste of the veal which would have been top on my list if I hadn't been so full - love the capers in this dish! Oh I had head about their Tiramisu! And guess what we had for dessert! Yes this is made in house too - very light yet full body flavored! Next time I'm going direct to dessert! I can't say enough positive things about the service here! These people are amazing - they were always clearing plates- offering refills of water or drinks- helping parents with children for food! If you're going to entertain a group this is the place! Yes parking can be intimidating as there is only street parking but at some point you will find a space. Great people with awesome food!
