I understand Chuck E. Cheese is often staffed by younger employees, and I don't expect over-the-top customer service. However, I do expect staff to show at least a little enthusiasm when they're working with young children. I attended a birthday party here today, and the overall experience was disappointing. The pizza was underwhelming, and while the games are fine for toddlers and younger kids, there are plenty of better places to take your family. The most disappointing part was when Chuck E. Cheese came out to greet the kids. They were all so excited for high-fives and pictures. My daughter was standing directly in front of Chuck E., reaching out for a high-five, but she was completely overlooked. I understand the person in the costume may not have seen her, but the employee escorting Chuck E. was standing right there and either didn't notice or simply didn't care enough to point her out. I actually had to say, "Hey, she wants a high-five." That moment matters to a little kid. Those interactions are what children remember, and it takes almost no effort for staff to help make them feel included. Instead, it felt like everyone was just rushing to get it over with. The employees throughout our visit came across as disengaged and uninterested, and their attitudes reflected that. My daughter still had fun because she's two and enjoyed the games, but as a parent, the experience left a lot to be desired. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. Went to Chuck E. Cheese and had a terrible experience. The manager wouldn't split points onto 3 different cards and acted like it was too much work. The staff seemed lazy and unhelpful the entire time. I ordered a chocolate chip cookie and was told they were "out of stock" on chocolate chips ,so they still served me a chocolate chip cookie with no chocolate chips at all. They also said they had no ice, even though the salad bar clearly had plenty. None of it made sense. The environment felt dirty and poorly managed. The workers were disrespectful, especially the girl at the front desk. Employees didn't even seem to know what they were selling or how things worked. This location was really great. I was very surprised on how they were able to host the party and time it out pretty well. I didn't need much instructions other than they told me when food would be brought out when Chucky would be brought out and it was great my son got to enjoy the blaster machine because we hope we booked a party there. My family and the kids enjoyed the games for unlimited play for two hours and my son was able to score the large Chucky plush for his birthday. It was such a fun environment. We stopped here for my daughter's birthday. The kids always have so much fun at Chuck E. Cheese. It's such a vibe for the children, but I will say I was very disappointed because our pizza took forever. Apparently their buzzer wasn't working that day and we ate cold pizza. My kids didn't mind it of course! Me as an adult, I do because we're paying for the service and they should make sure that everything's working correctly. I will say there was a lot of young people working that day and they did an amazing job. I think that they were short staffed. This review is for management. I wish I had gotten the manager's name, but it was the girl with the red hair. I go to this Chuck E. Cheese location pretty often since I have a membership (1-4 times a month). I consider myself a low-impact customer--I keep to myself, and NEVER complain. My son's favorite part of visiting is the birthday show, which is exactly why we decided to host his 3rd birthday party here. Unfortunately, the service during the party was not great. I am fully aware that I chose the cheapest birthday package, but I still expected a basic level of customer service. The party was supposed to start at 5:30 PM and started a little late. I arrived at 5:00 PM to make sure everything would be ready as guests arrived, but the food didn't come out until around 6:45 PM, almost two hours later. I understand it was a large order, but it was frustrating seeing other parties, including one that arrived after us, receive their food first. To make matters worse, about one-third of our party ended up getting sick afterward. When it came time for the birthday show, which again is the main reason we booked the party, we were told it was not working. I understand that technical issues happen, but I asked what the solution would be since that is what we paid for. I suggested alternatives like playing the song on YouTube, using a speaker, singing, or even waiting until it started working. The manager refused all options, saying they could not accommodate us because they had other parties going on after ours. This didn't make sense considering our party ended at 7:30 PM, and we ended up staying until 9:30 PM, and there were no other parties during that time. The manager repeatedly avoided speaking to me directly and instead kept sending an employee back and forth to communicate with me, which was unprofessional and put that employee in an uncomfortable position. When I finally spoke with the manager, she mentioned a refund, but made a point to say in front of people that Klarna was used for the payment, so there could be no refund. She repeated this multiple times, which felt like she was trying to embarrass me, suggesting that because I used it there could be no refund. I have used Klarna at many establishments before, and refunds are handled the same way as cash, credit, or debit transactions. I explained that I had spent around 600 dollars on my debit card (since klarna was an issue with her) that same day and asked for some kind of solution, either a partial refund or even something small like letting some of the kids use the jumper area to make up for the situation. She refused. She then mentioned the issue might be fixed by resetting the system, so I said "Do it", but then said they could not reset it because it would inconvenience other customers. At that point, I asked if what she was saying was that my time and money were not important, and her exact words were, "yeah, pretty much," followed by laughter. The entire interaction was frustrating and unprofessional. I truly wish I had recorded it. Bottom line, I was not even asking for money back; I just wanted a solution. They advertise their birthday parties as including: 2 hours of unlimited gameplay The birthday show Birthday ticket blaster experience Upgraded prizes for the whole party Food package However, the manager told me I should not have expected the birthday show because it is "not required," which is completely misleading. If you are going for a casual visit, it might be fine. But if you are planning a birthday party or special event, I would strongly recommend going elsewhere. It is a nice place to hold a birthday party and they provide the food and cleanup! This particular one had a climbing play area with fun slides. They had lots of games. The best part was the girl, Aylin, who was our hostess and she was on top of everything! Brought pizza after pizza and even did little touches like put a sticker to distinguish the Diet Coke ( adults) vs kid's sodas. Pizza was actually pretty good. We had meatballs with spinach, supreme with a mix, cheese and pepperoni. It went quickly and we ordered more even. The wings were a bit pricy but these were also good with the celery and ranch too. Overall, the kids loved it and enjoyed the party and Aylin made sure it was smooth sailing- THANK YOU for working so hard( we had a big party!)! I really liked the play area more than the games- think better for younger kids! Only con, bathroom needed paper towels and some people made a mess in the bathroom( there is always someone!) which is not Chuck E Cheese's fault, but have to keep on top of that with frequent checks I guess bc it was nice when I first went and someone made it dirty by the time I was leaving. One thing I would like to add is there is no tip line on the receipt or with the packaging which is refreshing to see since we usually are tipped for the stupidest things often! BUT in this case, Aylin and the staff work very hard running around, so we left 100.00 tip in cash (to assure she gets it bc she really deserved it!). So even though they don't ask for tip(and she was surprised and gracious saying we didn't have to), please do tip them fairly these young staff who are running around trying to make it a great birthday for your little ones! read more

I am incredibly disappointed by my recent birthday party visit to this location. We came here expecting a fun celebration, but the experience was ruined by a lack of service and blatant unprofessionalism. First, the tables we're not ready in time. As a guest I understood however it was not for the hosts. Then, food took extremely long- almost or about an hour wait (on a two hour reservation). Then the "guaranteed show" was not working, and when brought to the attention of staff, they offered zero assistance, refunds, or compensation. To make matters worse, the manager on duty was exceptionally rude. She did not have a name tag on, but she was dismissive and actually made faces. It is unacceptable to treat guests this way, especially when we are paying for a birthday package for little ones. I left feeling completely undervalued as a guest. If you are planning a birthday event, I would strongly suggest looking for a venue that values its customers and maintains its equipment. I will not be returning to this location. read more

I had such a great experience here! The food was absolutely spot on--the pepperoni pizza had that perfect crujiente (crunchy) crust and the toppings were fresh and delicious. But the real stars were the wings; that hot honey butter flavor is incredible and it actually stayed adhered to the chicken instead of just pooling at the bottom of the box. Really disappointing. Absolutely run down. The mascot does not come out to dance. We gave this location many chances. The bathrooms are awful. Completely dated, no soap at all to wash hands. Bring your own soap if you come here. The sinks are up very high. There are no child boosters to the sinks for them to wash hands. No kid sized toilets. Doesn't seem that it is a place that caters to children based off the bathrooms. Where there are children soap must be plentiful and so should hand sanitizers. The photo both doesn't seem to be cleaned up and the pictures are always blurry. Corporate Quality control needs to drop by this place. We have been to other locations where Chucky cheese comes out to dance regularly. The place looks clean and the atmosphere is way different. I hope the team does something about this run down place. My son just turned 7 and we took him there with his best bud. We loved the helpful staff and the arcade machines. The guy behind the counter refused to give me a ps5 even though I won square and fare. Instead I was able to acquire a jumbo beach ball- we brought it home and my doggo named lucky LOVED it. The place is ok. Bathrooms were filthy. I'm mainly complaining about the manager named Fan and quality control as far as food goes. I ordered a gluten free pizza for my son.. as the buzzer went off i went to pick up the pizza and asked again to confirm this was gluten free. The female employee verified it was. Well a few minutes go by and my son after two bites realizes he's not feeling good and his stomach hurts. I take it back and manager Fan confirms that's it's a regular pizza when i clearly ordered gluten free. Fast forward to 20 minutes later when my son is having an allergic reaction in front of the register vomiting his little heart out. The manager was not quite understanding the severity of the situation and only offered a sorry. A simple sorry. We had to ask for a refund. This is my go to CEC since I live in San Mateo. My kids love it here and I like to take them here when it's really hot out to get some AC or to just let them run around. The pizza is surprisingly good and getting a membership here is worth it especially if you come often enough and can take advantage of the food discount. This is not as big as the San Jose one but is still a decent size. I have felt safe bringing my kids here and letting them run about. The staff are also pretty good and helpful. I absolutely loathe this place. I've been twice in the past year thinking it would get better but somehow it managed to get worse. The staff here have zero interest in doing their job. Here are a few things that stood out: Cost: Paid $60 for a small pizza and 1 hour of play - seems pretty ridiculous. A miserable staff member gave pizzas to someone else and walked away from the food window, didn't even acknowledge me while it was obvious I was waiting to ask a question. I waited over 5 minutes to finally be attended to. Safety: While I was there, a little kid (Probably 3-4 years old) was brought back inside by a stranger who found him wandering in the parking lot. WATCH YOUR KIDS HERE. No one was at the exit despite them "pretending" to stamp and check hands. Jumping Area: We paid additional more for our little one to jump in the trampoline area, and the lady working was so out of it. Kids were breaking rules by laying down (the sign specifically says not to) and the lady working was spaced out and couldn't be bothered to actually enforce the rules. Food & Drink: Half of the soda fountains didn't work so choices were limited which was disappointing to a 6 year old. Prizes: After $35, my son got about .50 (or less) worth of crappy prizes. Even he was disappointed and he is usually pretty easily pleased with junky toys. We also waited 5 minutes for the prize attendant who was sitting on his phone in the back of the kitchen (i could see him through the food window). Wont be going back. The card The manager came out and gave us 45 minutes on each card. Love that, but yeah, I bought these cards at 1:28 PM and by 1:48 PM. They didn't have any more time. It makes no sense! The manager even told me that he gave me 45 minutes and told me 45 minutes. The only reason why I am rating it 4 stars is because I don't think the birthday package experience is worth the amount I spent. I purchased the party package worth ~ $700. From my understanding, every party is assigned a party host, who should be on top of making sure we are okay throughout the event. However, our party host wasn't as attentive as we had hoped. Prior to being out of drinks, I had ordered additional pitchers. The party host said she'd add it to my tab and put in my order. About 10 minutes later, we were out of water and other drinks that I had ordered prior to the add-on pitchers. The host kept saying she'd get to it, but it took almost the duration of our eating time to finally get refills. By then, the kids were ready to get back to playing and it was almost time to pack up. There was only one other party going on during our time slot, so I'm not sure why she disappeared for that long. I think you're better off getting to Chuck E Cheese early and reserving tables open to the public (since it's first come first serve basis) rather than paying extra for minimal attention. read more

Went here recently on a weekend for game time with kids! A nice range of games, including ski ball and a whack a mole type game. There's a football game using an actual ball and a basketball hoop game with a ball as well. There are plenty of screen type arcade games too. Oh my. Pretty much my version of hell on earth. This place is LOUD. Seriously, what is wrong with being able to have a conversation with the person standing next to you? Ridiculously loud music combined with a hundred screaming kids, blinking and boinking arcade games..... I went home with a headache. I feel for the poor employees as I am sure the noise level exceeds OSHA standards for a safe workplace. About a quarter of the games and machines didn't work correctly. Cheese being that All the machines work over there and it's much more cleaner.
