This is a tough review to write. I go to this Chuck E Cheese all the time with my son, and I have for years now. It's close and he has fun. We don't eat there; we just go to play the games. The good: this place is usually fairly clean and it isn't smelly (unlike some other CEC's we've visited!). They have a few gems working there; kind people who treat kids with respect. The bad: broken machines that either steal your credits but don't deliver the game, or don't work at all, or if they work, you don't get your tickets afterward. On a weekday, maybe 5% of the games fall into those categories. On a weekend afternoon, with one or more birthday parties? 50-75% of the games will be malfunctioning. It's not unusal to have only 2 of 6 ticket "munchers" functioning. And sure, they'll give you some credits or some tickets, but you first have to find an employee (and they're all swamped busy) and then you have to wait for them to find the other employee who fixes machines, or the manager, or whatever. And then you have to wait while they fight with the machine. My five year old doesn't want to wait! And it's not his money anyway... he just wants to go to the next machine! It's just a criminal rip-off, though. So the machines take your money and don't give games or tickets, but when my kid goes to redeem his tickets, if he's 2 tickets short of a price (ticket value = 2 cents), they don't just give it to him anyway. No forgiveness there - we have to pay for 2 more tickets. My last complaint is the AV system promotes a "ticket splash" and visit from Chuckie - which never comes. My son is eternally hopeful. "Mommy will Chuckie come out today?" I have to tell him I don't know. Because the promised "ticket splash" usually doesn't happen. It's annoying. read more

Terrible!!!!! If I could give the place 0 stars I would. We had a 5:30 reservation and they were not ready, twenty minutes later and nothing had happen. They didn't put any decorations even though they were supposed to. Don't waste your money in this place!!!! On top of that the server tested us like if he was doing us a favor and the party was for free. On top of that we paid for the mega super star and were telling us that we had paid for the cheapest package. We have a tradition of taking our kids to Chuck E Cheese. We made a mistake on booking my 2 yrs old nephew's birthday party here today. This is by far the worst location ever. They didn't provide all the services for the party package we paid. Horrible management. Manager and staff were very slow and unprofessional they acted like they hate their jobs. Not friendly. Always wanted to come as a kid, I can vividly recall those TV commercials. Anyways, decades later, I finally got my chance as an adult coming for a kid's birthday party (better late than never, right?). Some of the arcade games have been updated (such as mario kart, angry birds, and a knock off version of flappy bird), we had the game card that provided unlimited pay on an hourly basis (I think), the kids (really toddlers) seemed to have a good time. When chuckee cheese himself made an appearance, he was severely lacking in enthusiasm and energy, but who can blame him, we eventually saw a teenage boy come out of that costume. The food we had included the pizza, sandwiches, buffalo wings, tater tots, and some celeries/carrots, they were reminiscent of school cafeteria lunches but worse. I may have enjoyed it a whole lot more if I was a kid again, too bad I'm not. 2 stars because the kids seemed to enjoy it. read more

Does any one remember about the big fight that happened back in Oct or Nov 2015, inside this CEC, and the entire parking lot was filled with police cars and swat team? I am not a big fan of Chuck e cheese since the structures get cleaned I don't know how often, but I do bring my kids (painfully) about once a year since they beg me to do so. The coins are a not expensive but you can get a great deal if you look for coupons on line. The tables are sometimes duty and hard to find a seat. The bathroom is usually a mess if you go late during the day. Safe for the kids since they stamp and check every adult and child before entrance / exit. read more

This review is a bit late but better late than never, right? Chuck E. Cheese in it's entirety has gone down the drain, at least in my opinion, but I can at least say that the others I've been too have some really great employees. This one, not so much. The girl at the register was so damn rude! My friend and I each got a salad bar. I didn't know that they gave you "special plates" for the salad bar. I walked over with a "pizza plate" and started to put the salad on my plate. Register girl practically runs over and puts her arm in front of the plate and gets in my face and yells "those aren't for the salad! did you even buy a salad bar?!" I looked at her like "duh! you rang me up!" I politely said, "yes I did." and she goes "well you're not using the right plate! they were supposed to give you black ones." and walked away. I'm thinking to myself "so why didn't you? " I walked back to our table, grabbed the receipt and went up to the register and said "See, 2 salad bars." She snatched the receipt from my hand and with a dirty look she said, "they forgot to give you the salad bar plates." she threw the receipt at me along with the plates, that's when I said, "they didn't, you did." and got my salad. While getting my salad two older women came in with a strong accent. they were looking at the menu and they asked what a particular sandwich had. she rolled her eyes and pointed at the menu and said, "it says right there!" The women looked like they wanted to say something but instead they just left. The prize ordeal. Ugh. Let's just say after 10 minutes of listening to her be rude to the other little kids around us, by the time it was our turn I gave her an attitude before she could give my friends kids one. She was so shocked she was incredibly sweet throughout the whole process. She even let them get a prize that was a whole 5 tickets more than what they had! Sheesh. One of the best ones I've been to. Not a ton of parks in this area but this is somewhere my kid likes to run around in and loves the play area in. Also next to Target. Pizza is fair to not bad at all. The folks who work here are nice, friendly, and take their job and kids seriously which is sometimes too rare in the field of services appealing to said kids. read more

My children love it; I can't stand it. Save it for a rainy day when you can't bear to be cooped up in your house. The Toddler Zone is a contained area with age appropriate rides. There are arcade games for older children. The restaurant is usually crowded and the food automatically comes with a side order of grease. read more

Dirty place I ever been,rude customer service and employees and manager don't take the job seriously.

Made the mistake of having my daughters 6th birthday here- the only positive thing was the ticket blower that she loved. The staff that were helping me kept disappearing and had no idea what they were doing. Cake was served 25 minutes later than I was told & they would not give us a pitcher of water because we already had 4 pitchers on our table and that is all that came with the party package.Worst service. I voiced my frustrations to the one staff member and she didn't even have the courtesy to look me in the face while I was talking to her. There was not enough sitting room in the party area for the kids parents and I ordered an adult pizza but couldn't find the "party helpers" to give us plates. We ordered a piñata and the staff member did not know how to use it.The last straw was I had bought a cake with me & it had been taken from me when I arrived- the party planner says did you order a cake with us!!! No I bought my own why do you know nothing about this party. Oh and I asked her what pizza they had- cheese, pepperoni & Hawaiian- I said anything else ?she said I don't know? Very frustrating and stressful party- yes I know it's a Sunday and it's busy but this is your job and I am (over)paying you!!!! Thank God my daughter and her friends had fun. read more

Attended a Nephews party this past weekend with mixed emotions! The Party was at the store opening so everything was clean, orderly, and all games were functioning with a nice variety that thrilled ages 3 to 73! The mixed sandwich tray; namely the fried chicken sandwich was seasoned just right and the Pizzas were all so very tasty with cheese even in the crust; I know odd to admit, I'd go there for just the Pizza! As a former Training Director, I cannot help but wonder what type of training does Chuck-E and his sidekick receive? Clearly they don't understand that they need to be "ON" when out and amongst the guest? Granted, I realize that it must not be comfortable to be in that mouse head - but they need to be taught that their body language makes the difference! Work on being animated, upbeat and energetic; she (the sidekick?) needs to at minimum, smile and pretend she's happy we're there! Yes all eyes are mostly on Chuck-E, but we see you too! Also Chuck-E appeared to hide in the back as he was seen entering/and walking fast to exit, more than the time on the floor! We question the "follow me for fun" Free Tickets sign! Not once did any of us observe any tickets given away! What's the purpose of the sign? I know this is small, but all together, it makes for the total Experience! Where do I begin? The place stinks like dirty feet and molded cheese. There is hardly any employees ever working. It took us about 15 minutes to get service at the ticket area. The games for the kids were not working and there was no one around to fix them. I went to ask an employee for assistance and they just gave us a dirty look. CAUTION- Chuck E. Cheese has gone downhill BIG-TIME! I think the only people that don't notice how cheap and lame it is are the children who don't know any better. But don't worry, all of the prices have gone up 100% so they're making a ton of money anyhow. Here's the facts: 1. Very few employees (though every one seemed to be a "manager", ha ha!)- you'll be lucky if you get all of the cheap (as in the cheapest you'll ever find) utensils, dollar store paper plates, etc. the first time around, but don't worry, you have to stand in line AGAIN with the people ordering food to ask for anything you need to eat your meal because they don't feel they make enough money to put out plastic forks, cups for water that cost 2 cents (very expensive) for people to take themselves. There's NO table service at all, so don't expect anyone to take anything, give you another cup, etc. or help you in -any- way. They DO have someone always there to take your child's money though, so don't worry! 2. Dirty restaurant and tables. No employees means no one to clean anything up. So bring your own towels and 409 if you don't want to contract something life-threatening. You certainly don't want to require medical attention in a place where there's no one but others' unattended children to help you. 2. No ball pit, playground structure or anything that might give your kids the least amount of exercise, just more machines to take your money, most games having no point to them or skill required at all, they're just there to exchange your money for 3 tickets which are worthless. Also on a sad note, no more stage with animatronic Chuck E. dancing and talking to the kids. Now it's just a balcony-type seat with a half-body Chuck E. with a broken eye that doesn't open there to scare your kids. I guess all those quarters don't pay to maintain some 1980's robots anymore. 3. Salad bar- Start with a child-size dollar store plate that can barely hold salad and a cheap fork that can barely hold the food you try to pick up with it. Veggies were good, dressing was as crappy as you can find though, with the ---lowest--- quality ranch and blue cheese you'll ever find, as well as the milky, spoiled looking potato and macaroni salads, YUK! And all for only 7.99, what a deal:( 4. Pizza is okay,hasn't changed much which can be a good thing, tastes good for cafeteria style pizza, though the crust was a little burnt. If you're unlucky enough to buy the salad bar, this is your opportunity to take that cheap plate that can't hold food and try to stack a bunch of olives, green peppers, onions and any other veggies that might taste good on a pizza, then throw them on your pizza to make it taste even better! This will be your only solace during your entire time at Chuck E. Cheese, so enjoy the doctored pizza you've created, it's all you'll remember:( 5. I seriously don't know why we tolerate such greedy, low quality, insulting corporations/franchises like this, corporations that care nothing for their customers other than to empty their wallets, offering no quality whatsoever in return. I spent nearly $70 and that was with coupons, and it was the worst experience I have ever had. McDonald's at least has a playground and employees to charge you for any extra sauces, etc. that you might want. Save your money and take your kids to a park/playground with Togo's or Subway and have a picnic instead. With all of the money you save, you can buy some great food and even toys for the kids as a bonus. read more

It was really nice, i went there to play the games, i haven't been there in 2 years so it was different. There was not coins, there was play cards woth time limit, which was easier. I didn't eat there. But the service was pretty angry. They cursed. But when i went to give my tickets they had really bad toys and stuff. But the games were working and it was clean. read more

Used to Love coming here. I bought a play pass here a couple months ago under the assumption that I could take it to any Chucky cheese that now plays with play pass. WRONG. I went to a location closer to my house and they told me that I couldn't use that play chess but they would have to call the redwood city location and find out the balance and then transfer it. Easy enough right? Not exactly Redwood City give me the runaround and then put me on hold for 35 minutes before I hung up. Funny fact before I do my current review: Yeeeeaaaars ago, I saw a small kid and his mom leaving this place. The mom crouched down so the young child could light her cigarette with a match! Yes, it's true. The kid (maybe 5-7) then threw the lit match into a close by shrub and they walked away. A short while later the shrub was ablaze. Thankfully a couple of workers inside saw and brought out huge buckets of water to douse it. Ah, parenting at its finest. Not Chuck E. Cheese's fault in the least bit, but it's always what I remember first. Too bad, but this place has gone downhill big time. I used to love bringing my kid here years ago. Came here with a friend and his kids recently. Most of the games were working, but what made me so nervous was how packed all the games were to each other. Kids running around kept running into the games or into other people. Also some of the larger "rides" (like the car type ones) for little kids were kind of scary. Not scary to ride on, but scary for kids standing right next to it while it's operating. There's a huge 4x4 jeep that moves up/down, tilts...I was waiting for the kids standing right next to it to get their fingers or hands smashed when the jeep would move around. I just think a small gate or something around the jeep would be safer than sorrier. I wish they still had move of a tube/ball area like they did when my kid was growing up. There's a tube area there, but it's pretty dinky compared to what it used to be. And it's waaaay in the back....not much of a focal point. I guess they are trying to separate the bigger kids stuff from the younger kids stuff for safety reasons maybe? Just doesn't work well in the visual appeal department. I purposely stayed away from the bathrooms (learned that rough lesson years ago while here), so I cannot comment on how they were recently. The food still sucks, but that's a given. I normally just get the salad bar which is the best option. Well...best option if you TRY not to think about kids (and parents) running up and maybe sneezing or dipping their fingers in it. Okay, maybe it's not the best option, but the kids seem to enjoy the food...or the few bites they take in between running around. Workers didn't seem too miserable as I've seen in the past. They were polite and seemed to like being around the kids which is obviously a plus. From where we were sitting games blocked being able to see the entrance/exit where the workers check if kids are leaving with the correct adult. Most of the tables have this problem. That made me a nervous so we kept getting up to make a visual check up there if we lost the kids. read more

The only thing I enjoy about this place is the skee ball and the few video games available in here. The food is horrid and that's because I'm a food snob. But this place wasn't created for food snobs- it is for the kids. Upon walking in, you get this whiff of cheese and stinky feet- ugh. I been coming to this location for the longest time and for the first time a little girl was the one at the door stamping are hand after I noticed it was the manager name mark having her there stamping every one and picking up tables but that the least problem I ask the cashier about the rewards program all she said we just need you number not help offer to sign in what so ever then my husband went to ask for beer the manager said no more beer my husband ask a simple question if it was because of policy and the manager act sarcastic and said is a kids place we definitely know it is a kids place but if that was the reason no chuck n cheese should sell alcohol what so ever and I notice another person ask this manager for help all he said was I heard you walk away and got another employee to help her so I ask my self does this manager knows the meaning of customer service because I work on a kids dental office and I definitely know that meaning of that word also I have work on a food place also the place as well as the bathroom where really dirty garbage every where I expend about 70 dollars and when I got my food i started to eat then again this manager came by are table to remind us we have 30mins to get out pretty much eat as fast and leave I had the worst experiences with this location after so many years coming and expending my money here I will try to go any other location but here again. read more

I was worried after reading some of the other reviews but I came here today for a birthday party with 2 kids and I have to say that everything went very smoothly, the food was tasty and hot when served and the event went very well altogether. There were a few ticket chomped machines that were out of order or slow and that made us wait a bit to redeem tickets but aside from that, the staff was friendly and things were positive. It was not completely packed, there were just two parties going on at the same time, so maybe when it's crazy packed it's worse but again I thought it as a good experience (docked one star for the broken machines). read more

Like many I only wish that I could give zero stars. Only one fun game and no one to stop some guy & his wife from swapping out for 1/2 hour with their kid. Best easter ever! This was the first time I was there for easter this year and it was fantastic. They had a chuckee dance session with the kids followed by a Easter egg hunt. The manager/owner had clear instructions and all the employees followed it perfectly. With 150 eggs for the ~70-80 kids to find, my only disappointment was when parents started gathering eggs instead of the kids when their were clear instructions it was for kids only. I wish there was a 1 egg per kid limit so smaller kids have a chance. Lots of kids ended up with no eggs to find. With a 10yr old vs a 3 yr old looking for eggs, it's hard to see so many disappointed toddlers. The saving grace was that the manager/owner and her staff took care of those who didn't get eggs. read more

I love this place! It's soooo much fun! I have always wanted to go ever since I was a little boy. At the same time, I am 16 now and my first experience was amazinggggg!
