My partner and I stopped by this tea shop after lunch on a Saturday afternoon. It's in a pretty hidden location (first floor near an apartment complex with limited street parking). Orders are placed through a self-serve kiosk. We ordered: 1) Honey Osmanthus Milk Tea: extra tea, oat milk, no sugar, less ice. Zero sugar was perfect for this drink, and it was super delicious! Fantastic and refreshing. 2) Pineapple Oolong Tea: extra tea, mango star jelly, 50% sugar, less ice. The pineapple flavor was very diluted, and we couldn't really taste the tea flavor even after adding extra tea. Mango star jelly adds a lot of the fruity flavor that the drink itself was missing. I loved the oolong milk tea here though I'd be interested in trying the stronger tea option. I'm curious if it's stronger tea or if they just change the ratio and give you more tea:milk. The tapioca pearls were nice and chewy and would definitely come back for the oolong even though i don't typically drink oolong. A lot of boba shops' milk teas taste like sweet milk (eg. Sharetea), but I thought this drink was a perfect blend of sweetness at 100% while still being able to taste the tea. My husband had the passion fruit and pineapple tea and enjoyed both, favoring the latter. It's not too sweet even at 100%. So many boba places include tax in their prices so it's always a shock when the drinks are even more expensive when tax is added after the fact. Tried this place out on a whim - located under apartment buildings in this luxury complex...limited timed parking in the front but there is garage parking that also looked a little limited to me ? There was a bamboo design around the counter that made it look less concrete-y. My friend tried the hojicha but slightly disappointed because it did taste watered down despite being ordered at 100% sweetness. My other friend tried the smoked plum tea (we both like vietnamese xi muoi) and honeeeeeyyyyyy- wheewww...if you like lays bbq chips..this is like the liquefied form. My go-to drink has been the passionfruit green tea - there are actual passionfruit seeds in the drink (if you like the crunch it adds). I appreciate how they offer the option to add "extra tea" as an option - free of charge too! Unfortunately, the honey osmanthus was unavailable when we went so I went with the hojicha oat milk latte. I'd lower the sweetness too. I would not recommend the matcha, especially with oat milk. The matcha had a grassy, seaweed-y, powdery texture and taste. After I drank it, the aftertaste is super oat-y. It's like tasting grass then tasting grains right after. For my hojicha oat milk latte, hojicha has a strong flavor so I didn't get the cereal taste from the oat milk. It was thick and fragrant. I enjoyed it. The drinks are $6+ but I'm not surprised considering the area it's in. Service was nothing to write about. Prices for basic drinks are standard but many drinks can be $7+ and they do charge $1 for boba on drinks that don't include it already. I've only tried this place once, but I had a great experience. Just by looking at the menu, I felt nostalgic about the beverages in Taiwan. Many of these drinks are not offered in other milk tea places. I normally would order a standard milk tea (black tea), but I felt compelled to order other items. I came here with my friend and I since we've been on a cafe/boba rampage across South Bay each time we hang out, and the drinks here are pretty good! I can tell that this place is authentic/legitimately Taiwanese, and the quality doesn't lie. I ordered a wintermelon lemonade with boba and less sweetness, and the boba was so QQ and the wintermelon sweetness helped temper the sourness of the lemonade (though LBR, there was no sourness considering the amount of simple syrup they probably pumped into the lemonade already). I would've preferred it to pack a bit more punch. I knocked a star off for that!! I think if I ask for less sweetness, they should make it less sweet by Asian standards. The ambiance is nice and the interior is wooden/nicely furnished, but the day we went was a little cold and the door was left open for people to come in and come out so the breeze got to us. The parking situation is a bit iffy, we parked in 2 hour parking but wanted to stay a little longer to sit and chat. The nearby parking garage is for residents and their guests, and Chun Yang Tea's location is basically nestled in the worst possible location to be discovered by people: surrounded by company and residential buildings. I'm sure it's great for corporate employees who want to Doordash boba and for the residents to come over and order a drink, but as far as random people stumbling upon it, they're lucky we checked Yelp because I feel like we could straight up drive past it 500 times and miss it. read more

First off, Chun Yang doesn't take cash. So come prepared to pay by credit card. I drive on Kifer fairly often and never noticed Chun Yang until it popped up on Yelp. It's hard to notice them since there isn't any signage near the street to indicate that there are shops at The Savoy housing complex. When I made the turn into The Savoy, I was happy to find 2 parking garages (one to the left and one to the right). I chose the parking garage on the right. It was not super large, and most of the spaces were tight. The shop is spacious because they don't crowd it with too many tables & chairs. There was also one table outside the shop. You'll see the small area to order your drink when you walk through the doors. They have a stack of menu cards for you to look at. It's easy to grab a menu card and step off to the side to allow others who are ready to place their orders. I appreciate these menu cards over other places that have a digital menu mounted up high, usually behind the order counter, where you can barely read the minuscule print from the closest position you can stand. They have music playing in the shop. While the music didn't seem to be at a super loud volume, it somehow contributed to making it very hard to hear what the store workers were saying while trying to place an order. It's probably due to poor acoustics from having flooring instead of carpeting. Looking at the menu, they have a wide variety of drinks. The drinks are listed in Chinese, with their English translation underneath (in much smaller print that is harder to read). The overall prices seem on the high side, especially when toppings are $1 to $1.50 each. I chose one of the top 5 drinks posted on their sign, the Brown Sugar Pearl with Milk. I normally get my boba drinks "less sweet", but this was not an option for this particular drink. It was one of the "fixed" sweetness drinks. And boy was it sweet! Way too sweet for my tastes. The boba pearls were also really mushy. I tend to prefer mine a little more chewy. Perhaps this was due to stopping by in the afternoon (almost 4pm), instead of early in the day? I think I need to try this place again. Next time I should try one of their Milk Teas, and also see if their boba pearls improve earlier in the day. A fairly new boba shop in Sunnyvale located slightly tucked away off of Kifer Road. There is limited street parking but there is a parking structure right around the corner - not too sure if this is public parking or for the apartment complex. I ordered a large hojicha latte with boba in less sweet and less ice. I was not the biggest fan of the drink because it tasted a bit grainy so I had to consistently mix/stir the drink. The flavor of the drink was just okay, I've had better hojicha drinks elsewhere. However, they were super generous on the boba, it was just about 1/3 of the drink. Service was fairly quick. To be honest, I should've went safe and selected one of their top 5 drinks. Definitely would like to visit again and give it another try. read more

Wanted some boba after work. Chin Yang is located right next to a leasing office for the apartments above it and you'll have to go into one of the parking garages for parking. I ordered a oolong tea latte at quarter ice, half sweet. It was a little too bland for me so I asked them to add more sugar which they were happy to do. I probably should have just gotten a normal oolong milk tea, but the latte had too much "milk" in it which is way too overpowering for me. I could barely taste the oolong tea, but for that faint essence that I could taste, I really liked it. So next time... milk tea. Overall, a little pricy for what you get but still a decent spot to stop by on your own Bc the store is a little small and there's not much parking. read more
