Nor is there any ambiance of a higher elan than an overnight laundry. (I hear this will change, soon. Business idea: Fong's Natural Laundry Detergent!) You want ambiance? Try Echo where the Wonton Soup is near $20. FG's is just as good or better at under $6. There in lies the added fourth star. The chef is reaching his or her golden age. Having experienced Chinatown dining in Manhattan, Queens and San Francisco, I can attest Fong's Garden is right up there with the best. And right up there with the hugely higher-priced Breaker's restaurant, Echo. Mongolian Beef, a signature dish, is superb with tender protein and just the right amount of sesame and whatever else it is that makes it so much of a must order.
