On several occasions we have ordered soup from Yin Can Cook when someone in the house hold was not feeling well. This is the first time we ordered some other dishes and they were very good. I wish I had taken photos but we were very hungry and it slipped my mind. We tried Won Ton Egg drop soup, steamed dumplings, Egg Foo Yung, steamed chicken and mixed vegetables from the "diet" menu. All were very generous portions and came with sauces, two sides of perfectly cooked white rice and all the condiments. The chicken and veggies was perfect for my WW meal. The broccoli was steamed perfectly and the chicken breast slices were sooo tender. We'll definitely order takeout again. So challenging to find good Chinese food. We are almost always disappointed because we compare to a now closed place that we had eaten at for years prior to the owners moving. This place was terrific and the most accommodating Chinese restauranteurs we've ever encountered. We ate here two days in a row while we were in town. We had all chicken dishes (sweet and sour, sesame, and General Tso, and all were very good. I think the pork fried rice may have been the best I've ever had. Wife did say her lo mein was bland/tasteless, and none of their dishes marked spicy were spicy to us, but I'm sure people who don't like spicy food would probably differ in opinion. In the restaurant, the family is super sweet and polite, calling on the phone and placing an order is easy peasy. The food is super generous portions and always always delivered hot. Yin Can Cook - or Crook? Disclaimer: I have ordered for delivery from Yin twice. Both times, they left out something I ordered - and had paid for. Once it was the egg rolls that were supposed to be included with our dinner combinations and, on the latest order, one of the two soups we ordered. When I called to complain, the person on the other end of the call claimed we had only ordered one soup - and tried to blame the delivery driver. I offered to send him a copy of our order and credit card receipt, but he kept on insisting that we had only been charged for one soup. So now, he's two for two. I won't order from Yin Can Cook again, so "Yin Can't Cook for Us. Beware these folks. That's too bad, because their food is pretty good. The egg drop wonton soup was flavorful. The egg rolls had great flavor, although they were a bit underfilled. Crab rangoon was crisp and tasty. Their egg foo young was excellent. The food is rich with flavor. I had the shrimp with lobster sauce combo plate ($8.95) served with pork fried rice and an egg roll. After hearing someone rave about their House Fried rice, I felt it was the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. There were no vegetables and the chicken and pork bits were small enough for a Chiwawa. Mostly rice for $12 bucks a container. It was terrible I called the restaurant and they were nothing but defensive, not even offering to make it over when I wanted to bring it back. There was also a language barrier, I kept telling him I wanted to return it and they kept talking over me instead of making me a new batch. Solid Chinese spot. Quick and friendly, but better than any other place in the immediate vicinity.

First off, my order was estimated to take an hour which was long but we wanted to try this place. The order took over two hours, and that is no exaggeration. Also the food was very average and the fried rice was actually just brown rice for all the orders. A dinner for 6 came to $100 which seems high for takeout Chinese. It's a little hard to find, tucked into a corner of a strip mall just off busy Northlake Blvd. My Four Seasons came with large chunks of meat and vegetables, satisfying in both taste and quantity. The appetizer sampler was a lot of fried food but equally good in terms of taste and value. When it comes to Chinese takeout that's a step above average, you can take it from me that Yin Can Cook. They need to change the name of this place to Yin CAN'T Cook!! This was without a doubt the worst most suck ass Chinese food I've ever had in my life. The soup I ordered was so thick I could stand the spoon in it. It was thicker than gravy and it was supposed to be hot and sour soup, but it was neither. It absolutely sucked. I have never been able to stand a spoon and soup before, see photo.The roast pork fried rice had no roast pork, no vegetables no nothing. I wouldn't even call it plain fried rice it was just fucking horrible. The eggroll contain nothing the cabbage and was totally flavorless except for the stale oil taste. My aunt's egg foo "young" (sic) also sucked and she's been eating here infrequently for years she was stunned and embarrassed at how totally awful it was since she recommended it. They delivered it 30 minutes before the time I requested it, and while the delivery guy was really nice nothing could save them from the horror of this totally shitty food. I cannot believe how bad it was. It was without a doubt the worst Chinese Food I've ever had and I have lived all over Asia and I know the difference. Horrible beyond words. read more
