This used to be my favorite teriyaki place around. But they were not as good as I used to be. First thing that was an issue is they didn't give me what I ordered. I ordered the Hong Kong noodles and I got all the way home. And they had given me teriyaki over noodles. And I did not like it. When I called to let them know what had happened. They couldn't quite understand me so I just had to let it go. The teriyaki mate is usually really good. Because it has a sweet and smokey flavor to it. This time, though it had that sweet and smoky, but it also had a off putting flavor like soap or something. I didn't just order from myself this time. It ordered for my big Sis. And she also brought up the fact that hers had that soap kind of taste. But as I said, they bid my favorite teriyaki place in years past. So i'm not gonna give up on that. I will go again and make sure that I check my order before I leave. If it's good again I will let you know. If it's not then you normally will hear from me again.

I haven't been to chungs teriyaki in YEARS. At least 5. As the only teriyaki place open on Sunday in the proximity we wanted, we decided to give it a chance. Tl;dr noodles are bomb, teriyaki is bleh. The poulsbo location is definitely on the dingy side, but the kitchen looked clean and the staff was kind. Their menu is limited, with daily(?) specials of gyoza or egg rolls. The egg rolls were pretty bomb, filled with soft chicken and covered with a perfect crispy shell. The sauce was WAY too fishy. Tasted sort of like a musky fishy grossness. I wanted yakisoba noodles but they have Hong Kong. I still don't 100% get the distinction by these were HEAVENLY. I got chicken & tofu, no cabbage. I barely made a dent. The tofu was tasty and perfectly crisp yet moist, which seems to be tough for some places. The chicken was also super flavorful and a great texture. Can't wait to come back for those leftovers the meat/tofu to noodle ratio was a little off, but I'm sure cabbage would have evened it out. My partner got the chicken teriyaki. I remember years ago not being fond of the sauce, and it still stands now. All of the was drenched. It was salty yet watery? The chicken was again cooked perfectly so that was disappointing. It came with some side of boiled cabbage and a couple noodles which I personally think is strange? but also I don't eat cabbage lol. We also picked up the beef teriyaki for his brother, who was super unimpressed. Said he prefers teriyaki town (but they're not open on the weekends). Overall, I'd definitely go back for the noodles. Otherwise, I'd wait until the weekday for somewhere else, in my opinion.

Definitely worth a try! I ordered the karaage chicken bowl. There was a lot of chicken pieces and a heavy serving of "egg fried rice" underneath. Very filling, and very delicious. The chicken is fried, and it comes with green onion which breaks up the creamy richness from the egg and fried chicken flavors. It was so much food, I had leftovers to take home for lunch the next day. The entrees come with miso soup before the meal arrives at your table, so we were happy with the fried chicken skin appetizer and miso soup starter, then to finish it off with our entrees. Everything tasted good, hot and fresh. The staff were friendly, fast, and attentive. It's located in a shopping strip next to a gas station. It's a great spot for a hearty, quick bite to eat.

I expected more since there were plenty of good reviews, but I think we should've spent some more time searching. For context, we wanted a good sushi dinner - willing to spend a little more on special rolls, etc. I would maybe consider this spot again if you were to just come for some appetizers or regular rolls, but don't come here expecting phenomenal sushi. We got the pork belly lettuce wraps and the sweet coconut shrimp. The lettuce wraps were a highlight/our favorite and honestly I would come back for just these. The coconut shrimp was OK, but not anything to write home about. For sushi, we got the Black Widow and X-File special rolls, the chu-toro sashimi, and one yamagobo maki. The most expensive part, the chu-toro, was not as good as I'd expect it to be for the price point. I've had much better (cheaper) toro so this was the biggest let-down. The special rolls were good, but again, not great. I definitely favored the Black Widow roll, as the soft-shell crab was very yummy. Service was also lacking a bit. It was not busy but our waiter wasn't super attentive. Waters sat empty for a while at one point, and in general it just took a while in between visits.

This looked like the closest thing to authentic chinese I would be able to find so I tried it out one afternoon while Christmas shopping. When walking in you will notice that this restaurant is HUGE. Like the Summer Palace huge! There are several rooms filled with benches and booths. I cannot imagine it ever really being filled. I in fact was the only person on this particular day in the entire room by myself (which sat around 50 guests). There was another table in another room all by themselves as well. The decor was...lets say interesting for Poulsbo. It was kind of like a cleaner version of the Forbidden City and I think many guests would enjoy. The menu had several dishes I thought looked tasty but I couldn't find the traditional chinese dishes I had hoped for. I asked the waiter if they had anything like Dan Dan Mien and he just said, no without any other recommendations. I ended up ordering the spicy pork noodles and pan fried buns. This was a lot of food but I didn't mind taking some home. The pan fried buns were filled with pork. They seemed to have been steamed and then pan fried on one side. They were really delightful as the frying gave them a different texture then I am accustomed to with Baotzi. This dish gets a 5/5 in my book. The dipping sauce that came with was also a nice accompaniment. The spicy pork noodles were sort of like a Chau Mien. They were a little spicy but not overboard. If the waiter would have checked on me I would have asked for some Sriracha or chili paste to help kick up the spice in these a bit. Overall they were still tasty, just a bit oily. I ended up taking about 3/4 of this dish home as I was stuffed and they were nice reheated the next day too. All in all the food was good and I would eat again. It was a bit pricy for what you get and the service was definitely lacking (I only saw my server twice, once to take my order and the second time to bring it. The rest of the time I sat by myself in that big vast room), but I'd come back because it seems to be the best chinese you can get in Poulsbo.

What we paid the top price for was not that. It had shrimp ( good tasting) but then it had a lot of fake crab ( known as Krab) and some rather chewy calamari rings and a small arm with tentacles. A total disappointment and NOT as represented. I should have asked for a refund on the Seafood. I will probably order from them again, but will stick to the more basic menu items.

I'm placing this as one of my new favorite sushi spots on the Eastside! Four of us came for an early dinner around 4:30P on a Saturday and got seating right away in a booth. The restaurant is on the smaller end with just a few tables on each side and a few seats at the sushi bar. In addition to an appetizer, two of us shared three specialty sushi rolls and the other two in our group ordered the chicken katsu meal set. Our sushi arrived beautifully all on one plate. Each specialty roll included 10 pieces and they all contained a generous amount of filling with a relatively thin rice layer, making the average price of $18 - $19 per roll worth the value. + TAKOYAKI ($7.50): These deep-fried dumplings had a soft creamy interior and housed a small piece of tender octopus. Four pieces came in an order, topped with mayo, unagi sauce and bonito flakes. I loved the crispy exterior and they were served steaming hot. I am not sure they were made in-house or frozen, but they were delicious. + KOUSHI ROLL ($17.99): A crab, avocado and cucumber roll topped with cajun seared salmon, spicy mayo, unagi sauce, green onion and fish roe. Between the crab filling and spicy mayo, this is a pretty creamy roll. The salmon on top had a very light sear, so while the smoky flavor was noticeable, I considered it closer to raw. The unagi sauce added some sweetness that offset the mild spice. + NAGOYA ROLL ($18.99): Tuna avocado roll topped with salmon, ponzu sauce, sweet sesame sauce, green onion and fish roe. The freshness of the fish especially shined here between the large cubes of tuna inside and the meaty slice of raw salmon on top. The sauce simply enhanced the roll without taking over the flavor, so it didn't distract from the purity of the ingredients. + SETO ROLL ($18.99): Spicy tuna and cucumber inside topped with tuna, ponzu sauce and green onion. This roll is HOT, like at least 3/5 stars on the spice scale! As spicy as it was, I really enjoyed it, especially since half the roll was topped with medium fatty tuna which was such a nice treat. Lean tuna draped over the other half. Chopped green onion on top added pops of freshness. The chicken katsu meal ($16.99) came with salad, rice and miso soup. I tried one piece of the chicken which was tender and had an excellent light crunch! Service was great as the two employees managing the dining room checked back a couple times and were actively watching in case any of the tables needed anything. I know I'll be back again for more sushi!
