The Torta & Taco Plate combos are $15.99 each. It's a bit higher, but that's turned into the new norm with everything. Taco plate includes rice & beans, while the Tortas include Fries. 2 Taco Plates & 2 Tortas Combo @$16 add up quickly, but the food is always consistently good. If you're coming in for tacos, take advantage of the Taco Tues specials, which change up a bit but can include rice & beans or just tacos. Tortas are filling so I kept it simple with Carne Asada and Chicken. The inside is kept clean and the fridge off to the side with all the beers is always calling my name.... At the downtown Phoenix location, my order was made incorrectly, yet I still paid full price. After going through the drive-thru, I had to go inside just to get my large fries corrected. Instead of a simple apology, the employee working the fries gave me an attitude and claimed there weren't any fries left, even though it was obvious there were plenty available. I want to give credit where it's due--Luis was the only employee who treated me with respect and provided great customer service. Unfortunately, the manager, Yamileh, didn't seem to care about resolving the situation or making things right. To make matters worse, they told me they didn't have Texas toast, even though it's one of Whataburger's signature bread options and is featured on their menu. I was also charged for additional fries just to get the order corrected, which shouldn't happen when the mistake wasn't mine. The staff seemed more focused on having a good time with each other than making sure customers received the correct orders. On top of that, the food quality was disappointing. The burger and fries were overly salted, making the meal almost impossible to enjoy. I've always enjoyed Whataburger, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I hope management addresses the customer service, professionalism, and quality control at this location because loyal customers deserve much better.
