I'm on a huge hamburger kick. Looking for mom n pop places…read more Having been to Tulsa a few times yrs ago, I checked Yelp and DDD and both had Hanks listed. And bing in town on business, I had to go. I went the single meat w/ chz and. Risky FFs. Hanks did not disappoint. Good ol' fashioned juicy chz burger. One where the meat juices mix with the mayo and chz and oh so good. Very filling. And the FFs so crispy. Yo won't be disappointed. Tip: for the best burger deal, get Hank's 1/2 lb special. Way cheaper than buying single patty burger, FFs and drink separate. It's a dbl meat.

Talk about a "dive" hamburger joint. That's exactly what I love about it. This place reminds me of…read moreSqueeze Inn in Sacramento, but a little bit bigger. The menu is straight forward, straight out of the 60's style, and the place was poppin' at 2:30 in the afternoon. I ordered the Hank's special with cheese and pickles and onions as my only produce. I also ordered tots. I found out later that I could've got them "loaded", which entails tots being smothered in chili and cheese. Next time for sure. My wife had the single with fries. The fries came out piping hot and for simple fries, they were crisp and tasty. My wife's only complaint is the lettuce was wilty, and that is she doesn't like the onions grilled into the burger. That's not a knock on Hank's, just her preference. Me, I love grilled onions on and in my burger. The burger bun was soft and melded with the burger and cheese into a burger nirvana. I look forward to trying their chili cheese tots next time and their milkshakes looked very tasty. We'll be back for sure.

So rant warning. But the manager pissed me off with his attitude so this is my therapy. Ha…read more After a long wait and politely explaining to the order taker what the Jr kids section was (from their menu), we pulled up and simply asked them for ketchup for the two orders of fries in our meals. The window worker appeared to be the manager. I was rudely told they didn't have ketchup as if I was asking for Grey Poupon back in the 90s! I said "OK, please throw in some BBQ or something". I don't know anyone that eats fries without something. He rudely said I'll give you two. I said 2 per order of fries? He abruptly said No! Two total, rather rudely. Guy acted like asking for 2/order was like asking for the combo to his safe in the back. I said do you personally only use 1/order of fries? He smugly claimed he did. I almost asked if he wanted to prove it but it was clear this was going to be my last time there. Extras are available at charge despite them being out of ketchup. Dry fries are a major pet peeve of mine. Unless you can make fries on par with a great McDonalds, then providing something to eat with them is a simple cost of doing business. No different than fountain refills or napkins. Needless to say. After running out of something to dip the mediocre fries in, we tossed 1/2 of them. I was originally very happy to see a restaurant going in between Pine Street and Ramona Casino on 75 North. But I'll resume QT grab and go food at highway 20 before I ever go back to this place.
