Famous for drug dealing, prostitution, hobos and crazy people, the Tenderloin aka "TL" neighborhood is avoided like a plague by most SF residents and tourists alike. Well, that's before they started opening speakeasy joints in the area, but I'll save that for another review. Growing up 5 blocks from here, I never had the balls to enter the TL - yes, shocker! My family never went there and neither did my friends. The very first time I walked into the area was to go to Chutneys. Located in the heart of the TL, you will never have a boring moment if you people-watch from the window. The scene going on outside is somewhat like a soap opera and if you watch long enough, you might be able to catch a hobo fight or see a druggie getting arrested. Now, DON'T discount this place just because of the neighborhood it's in. Trust me, the food is worth it! Ever since B introduced me to this place, I've been back several times. FOOD Tandoori fish: This fish is flavored with red colored spices then cooked in the tandoori clay oven. My dad calls it the "Devil Fish" because of the color. (He chuckles to himself when he says this). The result from cooking in the tandoori oven is a beautiful char on the skin and crispy edges while maintaining moisture inside the meat. Chicken Tikka Masala: one of their most popular dishes, the chicken is tandoor chicken cut up into pieces and the sauce is creamier than most tikka masala's ive had. I usually get this one spicy. Chicken Biriyani: My favorite dish! It's a rice plate flavored with spices and onions. The chicken in this dish is a dark meat that's always fall-off-the-bone tender. Delish! Lamb curry: I like the flavor in the curry but the lamb was on the drier side. I prefer my lamb with a little fat to add moisture back into the meat. Garlic or Potato Naan: The garlic naan has little pieces of garlic sprinkled on top before it's baked; I like to get one of these and the potato naan. The potato one has mashed potatoes and parsley inside, it works great to sop up the sauces from the curry and masala. Chai tea: free chai!! Some people prefer not to add sugar but I'm so used to Asian milk tea that I add tons of sugar. It really chalks up to preference. Chutney: they offer two complimentary flavors of chutney. One of them is a mango sauce and the other is a mint sauce. I don't prefer the mango sauce on its own because it's too sweet for what I prefer, but if I mix it with the mint sauce it's actually pretty good. You can find these in the soda refrigerator next to the Chai. SERVICE The style is very self-serve where you order at the cashier, bring a number to your table, and the food is brought to your table. Although I usually set the table myself, anytime I've interacted with the employees, they have been very nice and helpful. Even if there's a huge line going out the door, the guy at the cashier who takes our order is always patient and doesn't get upset when you can't pronounce items on the menu. During the weekends, there's usually a line that goes almost out the door. Don't be afraid! It moves really fast. PARKING There's only metered parking available in the area. I'd suggest parking in front of an area with high walking traffic so it's less sketchy. After 6pm you won't have to pay for the meters. ONLINE ORDERING I haven't tried this feature, but I've seen that they offer this on Yelp. I'll probably try it next time I come. read more

I love hanging out on the filthiest corner of the tenderloin surrounded by piss, shit and pigeon feathers, talking to an insane man with no teeth because our to-go order is taking so goddamn loooong to come out. Does lamb take longer to cook than chicken? According to the dude at the counter it does but I think he might have lied. And actually, I don't love hanging out on shit corners of the loin and am really thankful that I have a toothbrush and cable TV. Admittedly, my Tandori chicken salad was extremely tasty. According to my companion his lamb wrap was worth the wait. (Which I'm not kidding was over a half hour). So I am going to be nice and still give them three stars, and make a mental note that I have time to score some crack and get a reasonably priced Thai "massage" while waiting for lamb to cook because they obviously have thicker flesh than other animals. read more

Star #1: Convenient location for planning an evening out in this part of the TL. Several fine drinking establishments nearby. There are two courses of action one can take: Drink first and load up on the Chutney goodness afterwards, or make a food cushion and then pile on the drinks. My most recent visit, we opted for the food cushion. Star #2: Walked in, surveyed the surroundings, and randomly picked a table to sit and wait for my companions. Prompt service - silverware, plates, water, strange-looking salad of tomatoes, lettuce, and lemon, and menus were brought to the table. Throughout the meal, additional silverware and water was provided upon request. Star #3: I took Adam W's review into consideration and ordered the Bengan Bharta [smoked eggplant with onions, tomatoes, and spices]. Delicious with the perfect amount of spice! Goes superbly with a garlic naan [or any naan, for that matter]. The price must have increased on the dish though - it's now $5.99. Everything's around that price range and not too expensive, which is fantastic because you can then spend your hard-earned $ on delicious drinks nearby. The menu plays well with my adventurous side. I got off early and decided to picked up my wife and her co-worker for an early dinner. Her co-worker suggested Indian cuisine. Nothing, but a little Mediterranean spices can't overcome my challenges. All three of our dishes were under $7.00. I had the Lamb Tikka Masala, wife had the Chicken Tikka Masala and her co-worker had a chicken dish that has spinach and some sauce (Obviously, I don't know the name). Each of us ordered a side order of Basmati Rice and an order of Naan. Despite having very little meat on our dishes, the sauce was very thick and spicy and absorbed very well with the rice and Naan bread. The thick Naan bread can absorbed any spill from any home's kitchen counter. Our meal also comes with a complimentary house salad and tea with milk. Wife's flashy Hello Kitty's Visa card was accepted here for our meal. Okay. I'm guilty for revisting Chutney's...AGAIN. Second time this month. I just LOVEEEE IT!! Since I'm so obsessed with the Chicken Tikki Masala, we decided to order that as well as a Lamb Tikki Masala. I just love the creamy orangey curry that comes with it. For two people, we shared two curries, and 3 naans: 2 garlic, 1 onion. CHICKEN Tikki Masala vs. LAMB Tikki Masala Chicken is sweeter. Lamb is not as sweet, more on the spicy end. Chicken pieces are dryer. Lamb pieces are more fatty aka tastier. Chicken curry is less oily. Lamb curry has more prominent oil marks. Overall, I really enjoyed both. Halfway through, the Lamb Tikki Masala got a bit too spicy for me but grab a bottle of their Mint Chutney from their fridge, dab a bit on and you're good to go. Promise! read more

This is the best Indian food I've ever eaten. I had Bengan Bharta (smoked eggplant w/ onions, tomatoes & spice) for the first time here. They say you'll always remember you first time and it remains the best Bengan Bharta ($5) I've had & same goes for the Chicken Tikka Masala ($6). Chutney's exterior looks a bit shady (situated in the Tenderloin) but its interior is a stark contrast and inviting. We thought we made out like bandits with dinner for less than $20 in SF. Nope, their prices are very budget friendly. If you like Indian and/or Pakistani food, almost everything is safe here. Our mind is bombarded by millions of sensory stimuli every day. If the mind has to react (and think about) all these zillions of stimulus, it would go (even more) crazy. Hence, it creates categories of structures, models and stereotypes, in order to manage its information overload. However, creating mental categories is making a pact with the devil since over a period of time, they become ossified and we become close minded. Hence, we need to reflect upon and keep changing out mental categories. Now what has categories to do with Chutney? I have been wanting to categorize Indian restaurants in SF and have come up with the following three categories: 1Cheap eats(North Indian/Pakistani): In this category, Chutney is the clear winner. 2 Fine dining(North Indian/Pakistani): In this category, Rootee(review to follow) is the winner. 3. Fine dining( non North Indian/Pakistani): Dosa(review to follow)is the winner in this category. In its genre of cheap Indian/Pakistani food in SF, Chutney rules supreme. It is much cleaner than Shalimar and the quality of the food is better and more consistent that Nan and Curry. Whatever attributes you can come up with(quality,cleanliness,service etc)for this category, Chutney will rank in the top 2 everytime. read more

Warning: In Turk/ Tenderloin (TL). I highly wouldn't recommend bringing a date in the area, unless you're feeling a little adventerous and aren't phased by the homeless on the street. Also, street parking can be a bitch. I circled around for 15-20 min. on a week night to find a metered spot (after 6 PM free parking). Plus, semi-close to Union Square; smack dab in downtown SF. I would drive cautiously, because SF is known for jay walkers and people crossing without even looking for traffic. Keep in mind TOURISTS are always in the city too. On Wednesday evening (12/14/16) decided to grab some Indian/ Pakistani cuisine. We originally wanted to try out Shalimar, but there was a line of at least 6-8 people infront. Since, we didn't want to wait to eat, we noticed Chutney across the street and was like "why not, let's try that out." We proceeded to walk into the restaurant, ordered 3 entrees and several Naans. 1. Chicken Tikka Masala 2. Lamb Curry (mild) 3. Daal Masala 4. Garlic Naan $2.99/pc 5. Naan (2 pcs) $1/pc I sat down while my two friends ordered on what we agreed upon. A waiter brought a pitcher of water, cups, plates, utensils, napkins and a plate of salad (tomato slices, raw onions, iceberg lettuce & lime wedges).   After about 5-10 min, another waiter brought our food to the table and set them down. 1 star for fast service. The restaurant is spacious, and can fit maybe a crowd of 20-30 people tops. 1/2 star for room. Food came pipping hot, so did the naan. 1/2 star for hot food. If you love Chicken Tikka Masala, DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT... order their Chicken Tikka Masala. It is all wrong here. Tasted more like tomato bisque (sour & alot of tomatoes). It felt like it was missing the cream/ yogurt and the spices that make it a Masala. It definately wasn't even the same category as Chicken Tikka Masala. My bestfriend and I were so disappointed about this dish, because you know a place is great for their most commonly knowm dish... we were so disgruntled about it. Knowing that we were hungry, we ate it but vowed never to come back to this establishment. We compared it to our go-to's back in East Bay (Hayward) and South Bay (San Jose/ Santa Clara). Naan is very typical. Nothing much to rave about. It came hot, was a large piece of bread, & dry. Not fluffy. Lamb Curry: very gamey if you preferr to have that distinct smell or taste with your food. I can't say I like or dislike it. It's not something I would order on my own. Daal Masala: I wish they had Daal Makhani. Which is the best because it's so creamy and lucious. But no where on the menu did it have that specific dish, so I settled on Daal Masala. It's not great, and it seemed like it consisted of the same oils and spices as the Lamb Curry. I would not recommend getting. Overall experience: 2 stars. Don't be scared to try new places. Our expectations were a bit higher, because my best friend and I would frequently eat Indian food back in San Jose during the time we both were students at San Jose State University. I don't think I have an especially advanced palate for Indian food, but I know what I like, and I think Chutney is just okay. I wanted to go to Lahore Karahi but I had a temporary moment of ditziness and forgot exactly where it was, not to mention that I woke up from my ipod & recent cody's purchase high and realized : "Damn. I am in a BAD neighborhood" so I wasn't about to pull out my cell phone and google text for the address (yes, I know how close I was so do not even think about just a note-ing me, losers). Shalimar was crowded and cash only and thus : Chutney. I appreciate the relative cleanliness & wonderful, clearly fresh baked naan but the chicken tikka masala wasn't spicy enough for me and was kind of like eating chicken in tomato soup. Raita was also, just okay and raita is totally what makes the meal for me so that was a little upsetting. All right. I'm vegan, but I've heard amazing stories of this place called Shalimar... I figured it's Indian/Pakistani so they'll probably be able to accommodate my boyfriend and me. Well, not so much since we couldn't order naan or rice. Sucks, too because it smelled amazing in there! Well, saddened but still hungry for Indian food, we skipped across the street to Chutney. We figured that this Tandooriloin, and they definitely had vegan friendly things, so it must be good! Nah. Not really. It wasn't spicy enough, it wasn't flavorful enough, it wasn't what I'd call good Indian food. Well, the guy who took our order told us straight up what didn't have dairy in it when we asked, so that was something that was okay here... They still weren't that good, though. Geez, I really need to catch up on my reviews. I ate at Chutney like a month ago! Sorry if this review isn't as detailed. Chutney is another great tasting, no fuss Indian spot. I love when you're with a big group because you get to dig into lots of people's dishes haha. This turned out to be a great thing because while everyone else's dinner was tasty (hence 4 stars!), I was quite displeased with my own. I got a pretty typical Indian dish, the Palak Paneer. It's basically spinach cooked with spices and home made Indian cheese. Usually it's one of my favorites but Chutney's version was a bit unappetizing. Instead of chopping up the spinach, they pureed it. And it wasn't just pureed spinach but pureed spinach with the spices and even some of the cheese. WHY?! I felt like I was eating baby barf. I know it all goes down the same but while I'm eating, I like a bit of texture. While my curry was disappointing, I'd like to note that the Naan and Roti are super fluffy and hot. MMMM! It was perfect with all my friend's dishes haha. They are also the same low price of one dollar! So why not go healthier? Whole wheat all the way baby. No matter what restaurant i go to, I always seem to lack the ability to order food, except at Chutney's! This place is fantastic, whenever i do go in there i feel as if I'm at home, with the great cultural frames and saltry hindi music, brings out everybody's inner Ghandi haha. The outside environment is horrible, cracked out, just like it's reputation, but the food is delicious!! The "Chicken Thicka Masala" is my favorite and so is the "Chicken Biryani." I was yelping my way to find a place to replenish myself, and hapening to be in the TL chutney restaurant came to my attention. The previous reviews didnt lied... this place is legit!!! I was raised on the Mediterranean border of the South of France so I have came accross my share of ethnic food in my life not even counting my multiple trips to London and Morocco, home of the best curries beside India. The place was crawded, but I was able to seat right away and at the table of my choice (Tia table for one, again...miss you babe) So this is how it works: you order at the cashier, grab your number, choose your table and wait for the hard working server to bring your meal. The chai tea is bottomless and self serve in the back of the restaurant. So warm and comforting in a cold night away from home, exactly what I needed!!! The delicious smell of the spices floating in the air made my mouth watering, I couldn't hardly wait at this point! Thats ok, my meal was delivered piping hot to my table few minutes later. I had the lamb tika massala for $7.89 Extremely flavorfull, perfect balance of spices, creaminess and just the right amount of fire, a quick wihout burning your mouth to death. It came with a complimentary plate of fresh veggies: salad, tomatoes, oignons, lemons... I had the Nann garlic on the side for $1.99 (the indian version of our garlic bread) tender, flavorful, delicious, perfect to grab that delicious tikka massala sauce! My whole meal including the salad, lamb entrée, huge side of freshly baked Nann, chai tea bottomless came up for a total of $10.39 Yes I said $10.39 for a 3 course meal and drink!!! Crazy cheap for crazy good! I will definitely come back and try more delicious exotic spicy delicious dishes and bring loved ones along with me! Should anyone ever ask, "Hey, Mari C., what do you think of Chutney in the TL?" I would say, "Chutney you found in the TL, or Chutney the restaurant, located in the TL?" "Chutney the restaurant." "Oh, ok. Because if you just find it laying around, DON'T EAT IT. But if you're talking about the restaurant, it's very nice and I would recommend trying it." Once I realized how close we were to Lahore Karahi, I tried to make a run for it, but was ultimately convinced to give something new a try. And it turned out to be a good idea. They offered decently priced dishes with self-service chai, which is a must-have at any Indian place. We sampled the lamb curry, which was alright, the fish tandoori, which was bony and difficult to eat, the chicken tikka masala, which was the sweet hit of the table, and my personal favorite, a biriyani. This was my third time visiting, and while the first two times were decent, the third time ruined it all. I'm not coming back to this place. The service here is AWFUL. THEY LIED TO ME. Here's what happened: My GF and I had dropped in to grab some yummy curry for the tummy. We had ordered some chicken shashkababas and those flat toasted pancake bread things (hah! j/k... yes I'm perfectly aware that they are actually called Naan), and some mango lassi. Well, we were chatting it up and gossiping, and realized about 30-40 minutes later that we still hadn't gotten our food. I guess they never wrote down our table number on the order, so the food just sat under the heat lamp. When I walked over to the cashier guy to ask if that was our food, he said no, our food is being cooked. Upon returning to our table, we watched the server casually bring over the same plates that had been sitting there. When I looked over at the cashier again, he threw both his arms into the air of attitude, as if he was saying "what are you going to do about it?". Lie, then attitude. I was so angry that I had to step outside the restaurant for a little bit. If a restaurant doesn't have the skills to cook good food, it's forgivable. It's a matter of practice and learning, and to quote the Disney movie, "Anyone can cook". Lying and lacking ethics, and having a terrible customer service mentality, is a whole another problem and such an ill mindset. I love chutney! The service is great.The cashier is always soo nice to me, he knows my name and my regular order already! The place is clean, busy, and above all delicious. They don't deliver, but you can order for pick up at anytime. I've tried several items and these are my favorite ones I have to be honest, I'm kinda obsessed with their chicken Tikka Massala, it is so good and its only $6.50.The only down side is that it doesn't have enough chicken pieces, but it has plenty of the Massala dipping sauce! I always order it with a side of Garlic Naan for dipping! So BOMB! The Seekh Kabab is a tender skewer of ground beef cooked in a clay oven that goes perfectly with their sauces, specially the sweet plum sauce! The Keema Naan is really good too, its a Naan stuffed with flavorful ground beef. Perfect as a side order! The other day, I ordered the Rice PUllao-- basmati rice with saffron, its a better option than their plain rice. The only bad part is that some dishes are way too spicy. My mouth has been on fire--literally, felt like I was drinking lighter fluid and I had to drink a gallon of water to cool off-- specially with the Lentils (Daal Masala) and the Garbanzo beans (Chana Masala). I'm on the continued search for good Indian food in this city, which seems to be harder and harder to find. Martin W. and I checked this place out with high hopes after all the positive reviews. Not much atmosphere, but that's also not necessary for cheap food. The staff were friendly and helpful. I ordered the Saag Panner and garlic naan. I was a bit taken aback when it arrived--it looked like whipped up baby food. It was so smooth and overly blended that I wasn't even sure it was saag paneer, but instead thought it may be some sauce. It had a weird sour taste and, after trying to force it down, I decided I couldn't eat it and ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala. This was much better--better flavors and regular texture. But, the servings were small and there were only about 4 small pieces of chicken. Definitely not on the top of my list---I'll have to keep searching. read more

We go to Chutney at least once per month, either for dine-in or take-out. Anything with tikka masala is pretty good. The chana masala is super tasty, as is the bengan bhartha. The spinach and potato curry is spiced a little differently than other places, but it's also less greasy and has more flavor. I've noticed that if you call in an order for carry out and they tell you it will be ready in 10-15 minutes, they almost always have your food bagged up and waiting for you at the counter when you walk in. If you're eating in, it seems like you wait a bit longer for your food. On a recent visit, I got some karayla masala, which is bitter gourd or bittermelon. Compared to other times I've had bitter gourd, this tasted a lot less bitter. I think the spices did a good job of both highlighting the slight bitterness but also mellowing it out so that it didn't activate my gag reflex. At first, it was reminiscent of chayote, but the more I ate, the more I could taste the bitterness. Oddly enough, it was really quite pleasant, which I can't say for most of my bitter gourd experiences. I'll have to order it again to make sure it wasn't a fluke, but if this is what bittermelon can be like, then perhaps I've found a new favorite dish. read more

Sorry for hitting on the naan folks, but it is that good. And sopping up all the sauces and deliciousness with it just makes everything (tikka masala sauce, eggplant curry, etc) better. This place is also super affordable, who cares that you have to step over a few bums and run away from a crack head or two, if you're like me and you like a bargain, it is worth it. Good, honest, authentic Indian and Paki food at insane, wacky-waving-inflatable-tube-man-outside-a-car-dealership prices. Like, 6 of us stuffed ourselves full of chicken tikka and lamb kebabs and naan and biryani for like $60. How. Does that even. Just, yes. Oh and you can BYO whatever booze you want. Not my favorite Indian place in the city, but definitely a good choice! Chutney is right near my work and is a great and affordable lunch spot. For example, for $11 I got curry, garlic nann, and rice. I made three meals out of this! I ordered my favorite, Sagg Paneer, and enjoyed the cinimmon spices in the sauce. It was a great after taste. However, I wish it had been more spinachy (more of a solid texture) than it was. It was more of a cream sauce than anything else. In spite of these things, I gotta say I really like the service and efficiency of Chutney. I find the staff really personable, and like that I can get my food in ten minutes! read more

I truly do not know what to pen down in this review. Because I am so disappointed and the only word that comes to my mind, is "meh". I have eaten at this Chutney in the past. And then I have eaten at the Chutney in Fremont. And I truly do not know what the reviewers who are giving this place anything more than a 2 star rating liken Indian/Pakistani food to be. First of all, customer service here is a sham. We called them up last night to place an order to-go. Experience A) How long is your wait time for food delivery? Response - We aren't delivering tonight. Hangs up the phone. Called back 2 seconds later. Experience B) We'd like to place an order for pick up. Response - You know where we are located, right? Yes, I do know where you are located. "You called the Tenderloin branch. We keep getting calls but folks intend to call the other branch". Yes, I realize. We placedan order for 3 naans, 1 chicken seekh kebab, 1 beef seekh kebab, 1 chicken tikka masala and one matar paneer. Walked in, paid monies, didn't see any roaches, walked out smelling like chicken tikka. Came home, relished seekh kebabs. It was all downhill after that. Chicken Tikka Masala - Tasted like rubbery premade chicken tikka kebabs thrown into tomato basil bisque. That's not how I remember it being. First of all, as a desi I should have known better than to order tikka masala. But come on, don't be feeding this to your patrons! Matar Paneer - Where's the masala? Where's the gravy? Why is this even on the menu when the chefs don't know how to make it!? The naan was not bad. A bit on the smaller side. But the taste was not enough to salvage the debacle that is the tikka masala. Aside from the food, what I didn't like was the fact that one of the cooks brought in a giant tub of tandoori'd chicken, only to be managing in with his bare hands. The f**k? I understand hangling uncooked meat with bare hands, because once cooked, those cooties don't stand a chance. But cooked chicken with bare hands? Total order came to $25, which is not bad at all. But I would rather pay $100 and get served good food. I typically don't like dishing out 2 stars to restaurants. But I truly cannot help it. read more

Chutney used to be my favorite Indian restaurant in the city, however, I've gotten sick after eating there the last two times. While tossing and turning with stomach cramps, I decided to look up their health code score. They received NINE health code violations and a very poor 68 from their January '08 inspection for violations including vermin (rats), inproper hand washing stations, and improper food storage. That enough to make me wanna throw up.... and never eat there again. Don't get me wrong, I love this place, but it's not safe to eat there. Beware! Holy sh*t, this is some CHEAP Indian food. I can't get over the low price. You order at the front, cafeteria style, take a number and sit down to wait for your food. There is nothing going on decor-wise and the tables and kind of cheap and grotty looking. The floor wasn't the cleanest either, bits of naan on the ground by my feet. I ordered a vegetable tikka masala ($5.95), a tandoori chicken breast ($2.95, wow) and a plain naan ($1.00). When you first sit down you are brought a free salad plate and a pitcher of water. Nice. My order was somehow misplaced. I could see other patrons receiving all their food and mine wasn't coming. Sigh. The owner realized what happened and brought me out a mango lassi free of charge. Nice. The mango lassis here are PINT SIZED, huge! When the food did come (only about 10 mins) it was pretty decent. Tandoori chicken a-ok. Naan, very thin and HUGE, also good. Vegetable tikka masala, slightly disappointing. Very fast foody, the sauce was quite plain and runny and there were not a lot of vegetables besides a few green beans and potatoes. When I went to pay, the owner said the bill was $12 but to only pay him $5 because my order took so long. Cheap, but you get what you pay for. read more

I went here on a recommendation. My good friend swore it was better than every other place I would frequent when in SF, so I took a chance. After parking the car, I passed by a man who looked me dead in the eye as he huddled on the sidewalk and smoked crack. I was too through. However, making it INSIDE was an Oasis. Very clean, pretty spacious. The prices are INCREDIBLE and the food is ridiculously good. 2 Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Biryani, Vegetable Biryani, 2 naan and drinks didn't even come to $30 bucks. I understand that this is not one of my more entertaining reviews. That is because I find nothing funny about this place. Only deliciousness. read more

3.5 stars. A cold and rainy night... Perfect time for some Indian food! The first thing I noticed about this place, is that it felt classier (is that the right word?) than the other fast food Indian places in the city. We ordered mixed veggie korma, palek paneer, chicken korma, a prawn curry, veggie samosas, some kind of lamb sausage, rice, plain naan, and a naan stuffed with meat. The food was brought to our table very quickly. The veggie korma was good, not as creamy as I've had it at other places. But still very good and tasted fresh. The palek paneer, I would recommend passing on. It was too pureed. I like to see some spinach in my palek paneer, but this was just like a light green runny soup. And the cubes of cheese in it, were not flavorful at all. The whole dish tasted like it needed salt. The veggie samosas were tasty. Fried food, can't go wrong with that. And the meat eaters in the group enjoyed their meats dishes, especially the naan filled with meat. I think that was the favorite surprise of the night. Chutney feels much cleaner and less greasier than other places like Shalimar. The food tasted fresher and less heavy. Although as I write this review, it is the day after that meal, and I still feel full of Indian food. Don't know if that's a good or bad thing....Also it was nice to not feel rushed to order and rushed to grab a table and then rushed to eat and get up and clear the table for other customers. It was a leisurely eating experience. I think we were in there for about 2 hours. I'd definitely go back again. The prices are great, all dishes, 3 drinks and tip: $60 for 4 people. read more

Decided to try this place after being bored of Shalimar. The kabobs are excellent, but I did not like the Chicken tikka masala at all. Very bland and tasted more like canned tomato paste and less like CTM. Free chai is always cool. read more
