So we've been eating here since they opened but post COVID the management has totally failed to meet their customers needs. My 90 year old mother loves their tacos but she's very cold natured and we have to be cognizant of where she sits. Some areas of this restaurant are ALWAYS cold, especially in the back or the booths in the bar area. We asked for a booth (because she's not comfortable in a chair) and we explained we needed somewhere warmer. Where does the host take us? The back. We politely explained that we couldn't sit there as the a/c was blowing right on us. We asked to be reseated. The host mumbled something about seeing what she could do and came back to tell us we could sit at a table. That was the only choice. Mind you, the place wasn't busy and there was plenty of open seating. We asked to sit in a section with lots of open booths (that wasn't freezing cold), and only one booth occupied. The host explained there weren't any servers for that area. Wait what? I asked what about those people and was told that we couldn't sit there. So we left. I'm amazed at the incompetence of staff, but honestly it's the fault of management. Failure to properly train your employees, a total lack of compassion, and the inability to apply any reasonable thinking leads to issues like this. I never want to hear there's not a server for "that section." That's a lame excuse (especially if someone's already being served in that section) so let me help all of you highly trained, and possibly well educated, hospitality professionals out with some free advice. If there's a server working any section they can serve a customer regardless of where the customer wants to sit. Imagine calling 911 and hearing "I'm sorry but the fire truck for your section of town isn't working!" No what you hear is we're sending someone-that may be from the opposite side of town/county but guess what they're coming- regardless of how long it takes them to get there. God help us if the management at Chuys decides to go into emergency management, we're all doomed. read more

The absolute best Mexican restaurant around. Got the Elvis Combo and it was a huge portion and well prepared. Creamy jalepeno sauce is crazy good!!! Chuys is one of our family's go to places for Tex-Mex as it's legitimate Tex-Mex at reasonable prices in a fun ambience. Unfortunately our experience in Greenville did not deliver mostly from customer service. It was a busy Saturday night but the host was pretty gruff and seemed unhappy to be there. Our waiter was polite, delivering chips salsa and drinks promptly. The enchiladas and burrito were tasty, except only 3 of 4 in our party were served. The waiter told us the last meal would be right out...10 minutes later I was finally able to get his attention to ask what happened? He said the enchiladas had the wrong topping and had to be remade. I wish he would have given us the option of eating them with a different topping as all are good in my experience. The meal arrived after all 3 other meals had been eaten, ruining our dining experience. And no offer to comp the long delayed meal. So I still recommend Chuys, just not the Greenville SC location. read more

We enjoyed a nice lunch on their colorful, sunny patio. I loved the shrimp taco. The shrimp was plump, fresh and lightly breaded and fried, served on a flour tortilla with cabbage slaw and jalapeno ranch. This was served with a fish taco, which was nicely prepared but too fishy for me. Most fish tacos are made with tilapia or other mild white fish, but this fish didn't taste mild. It's just a matter of taste so if you're not a fishy-fish lover, go with the shrimp. The sides of rice and refried beans were very good. The steak burrito my husband ordered was huge, and he loved the chargrilled and marinated flavor of the steak. It was big enough for leftover lunch the next day. Their chips are thin, fresh and served warm, but their salsa to me wasn't the best. It seemed freshly made but had a tart, what tasted like vinegar base, which I didn't care for. I did love the jalapeno ranch that they also serve. Overall, service was very friendly and fast and the majority of the food was good. We'll definitely be back to try the rest of their large menu and enjoy the great atmosphere, especially outside. read more

The vibe is nice and our waitress was polite. We did have to ask to get chips and salsa while she sat down to chat with the table next to us. The food did come fast and my husband enjoyed his tacos. I got a chuychanga (sp?) and all I can say is yuck. Think fried chicken pot pie with warm canned salsa on top. Actually, the fried pot pie would have been much better. As we walked out our waitress was not only bad at the same table sitting and talking she was now sipping a mixed drink!?!? At least my nasty dish was removed from our ticket. read more

I really like this tex-mex style restaurant with a good menu sekection, cool decor, and clean bathrooms. Plenty of seating both in and outside and a huge bar for those who drink. Diana was super nice and professional and knowledgeable of the menu. We were first served thin tortilla chips and salsa and was also given a sample of all sauces. I liked them all. I had the #6 combo which was a ground beef hard shell taco, challupa, and cheese enchilada served with rice and beans. The ingredients were seasoned well and fresh. My hubby had a bowl of tortilla soup and chicken tacos served with rice and beans. We enjoyed the meal and look forward to returning. read more

Love Chuy's and the creamy salsa. I had the fajita tacos and they were delicious. Menu is limited during their reopening after Covid but everything was great. Had the hatch chili infused margarita. When I'm in the mood for Tex Mex, Chuy's is my go to! It all starts with the "crack sauce"... Creamy jalapeño sauce served with the thinnest, crispiest chips. It is so yummy, and a taste I have not found elsewhere!! They also have chunky salsa with some heat that is awesome. The menu is large with a good variety to chose from.. Most recently I had the pork boom boom enchiladas, and they were out of this world. They have a large selection of mixed drinks, and I am a big fan of their margaritas. Only other time we've been to chuy's was in Orlando, the food was great so we were excited to find this one in Greenville. Thursday night, not extremely busy, seated within 10 minutes or so. Waiter took a long time to show up. Orders drinks, asked for napkins, said he'd be right back. Brought drinks, still no napkins. My daughter accidentally spilled her near empty drink on the table, we asked for napkins, never got them. Wound up going to the bathroom to get paper towels. Ordered quest dip, ran out of chips, that took forever as well. Food was brought out. And I don't know how they didn't notice we were using paper towels from the restroom, but they didn't and none were offered. The food was good, but rather pricey. Needless to say we aren't too excited about Chuy's anymore and it's doubtful we will be back. read more

A great experience, I am working out of town alone. Restaurant was in walking distance. The bartender was my server. She did a fantastic job of taking care of me while tending bar and waiting on other customers. This is a repeat visit while in Greenville, but this will be the last. We arrived at 7:20 pm, at 8:21 pm NO FOOD. When asked for a manager, he said we are only running about 15 minutes on orders. We told him that is not true. He then said maybe the server did not get the order in!!!! The server seemed frazzled and o we exerted. She poured water in a lemonade glass. When asked for an extra bowl for guacamole and quest, she never brought it. When we decided to leave she brought out the food and commented we did not order the food when we arrived. I have been to chuy's on Florida and just seemed like super fresh ingredients, but this Chuy's the sauce on my burrito was just salty and the tortilla for the burrito just seemed like cheap store bought instead of fresh made. I sent back my burrito because it was just inedible. I ordered a taco salad instead it was super blah just tasteless and they brought out some weird dressing that definitely did not look like honey mustard but tasted like it. Stopped in for lunch on a beautiful day to sit outside. Greeted and seated promptly. Quick and friendly server. Started with chips and salsa, added the creamy jalapeño dip. I'd skip that- closer to ranch dressing, and no heat. Had the grilled chicken salad and steak burrito special. Both generous portions- plenty to take home. The steak burrito is spicy, hatch green chili sauce inside with the steak- you can opt out to cool it down. Really like that everything on the menu comes with calorie counts. read more
