You can't go wrong with nearly any option on the menu especially if you add the delicious BoomBoom sauce. Complimentary chips and a medium fresh tasting salsa are a terrific snack while enjoying a drink or waiting for your entree. Today I got the Chuychonga with their hatch chilly pepper sauce which wasn't too hot and tasted fine. In the future I'll likely get boomboom sauce instead because it is delicious. My wife got a taco salad and the portion was easily enough for 2 people too share with a tasty jalapeño ranch dressing on the side. The interior was clean and well decorated even though we chose to sit outside. The waitress was very attentive to us even though we were her only table outdoors and very polite. This was a quick lunch, based on proximity to hotel. I went with my family on a Saturday afternoon and didn't have to wait for service. We opted for outdoor eating, thanks to the large, shaded patio and the server provided her recommendations for meal. While there is construction outside the building, it did not affect our dining experience. Food was good, for the run of the mill Tex-Mex. I inquired about seafood allergens and the staff were sure to reassure me that the food remained contaminate-free. With family in town visiting, we decided to drop by for some post-them park Tex-Mex. As usual, Chuy's provided us with tons of (still) complimentary chips, salsa, and what one family member described as "addictive" jalapeño dip. Our server, Emilia, was very much on top of her game with seven of us rolling through, ensuring all of our drinks went in and came out quickly and got out orders taken promptly. I will say that the kitchen may have been a little in the weeds, as our food came out a little slower than some famished folks might prefer, but it was definitely hot, fresh and delicious. We went here after leaving Universal and it was a great choice! We got a table right away during lunch time. Abigail was our server and she was great - she got our drinks and apps out quickly and she was just overall friendly! The food was really good and came out quickly. Bill was about $45 for four adults with an appetizer. I can't remember her name, but the lady at front greeted us and got us seated was also super nice! She also helped us buy some shirts on our way out - which were super cute and and well priced, about 15$. Every interaction with an employee here was wonderful! What a refreshing experience. The salsa is fresh made from delicious tomatoes. The Chile Relleno is a masterpiece with the stem included as a crowning jewel. And I come here somewhat often because it is a favorite of one of my coworkers. Certainly, the chips and salsa are totally worth it. I'm also generally happy with the service. But this is where it begins to fall apart a little for me. In the past, I usually try to order their tacos, since it seems to be one of the few things that are reasonably sized for lunch time. I have tried the chicken, steak and ground beef variety, and both the steak and chicken were extremely disappointed. The guacamole on the side is nothing special. The flour tortillas taste packaged and certainly not homemade. The pico is also average, as well as the rice. Everything sort of tastes lackluster. Thankfully the ground beef is well seasoned and one of the better options from the other proteins available. Perhaps it's the location that keeps them thriving, but there are just too many amazing Mexican food options in town for this place to be so darn average. read more

We were due to fly out that evening, and wanted to come here for lunch before we left Florida. Our local family talked very highly of the Chuy's brand. Walked in and was told it was a 15-20 minute wait, which we didn't understand as there were quite a few tables empty. When we were seated, we were greeted by our server. We ordered our meal, and as we waited we munched on the fresh tortilla chips. The server brought out a sample of every sauce they have which I thought was cool. I ordered the boom boom chicken enchilada,and let me tell you, that boom boom sauce was amazing. This was the best Mexican food I had at a chain restaurant. This is consistently good food, although the dining in experience isn't as good here as it is near the airport. Dining outside on the patio is very much a function of who you get as a server. Be patient if you eat outside. It's also a bit noisy outside--you are seated about 25 feet from the traffic on I Drive. Still, it's usually worth the wait. My favorite are the Pancho's--a corn tortilla cut into quarters and topped with chicken, beans and the trimmings you'd expect. They are also an excellent choice for takeout. The trimmings are packaged in a container and we heat the Panchos for just a few minutes in the oven and then top them to taste. We also routinely order the large Chicken Tortilla soup. Excellent. Fajitas are a good choice as well. They have the usual choices that you find in most Mexican restaurants, and the bar can serve you a wide choice of Mexican and domestic beers, the frou frou frozen drinks and pretty much anything else you'd like. It is a kinda Cilantro garlic creamy salsa that is AMAZING and they don't charge extra for it, you just have to know to ask... I think the best deal is the Fajitas which is a bit pricier but I can never eat it all and usually come home with a full lunch portion for the next day. the steak is super tender and easy to eat in your Fajita and is usually cooked perfectly medium rare. if you can time it right they have a FREE nacho bar which has chips, queso, beef and salsa's... it's only certain hours of the day but you can almost order a few drinks and eat the nacho bar and call it dinner :-D read more

Finally after waiting an hour the food arrived. My Elvis was perfect, my Wife's taco salad did not come with cheese sauce and the taco shell was not fresh, it was not crunchy. My Sons burrito was way over cooked and his wife's tacos the shells where not crunchy. All said, the food good not spectacular and we where all a little disappointed. We love this place. Great chips and salsa. They are very accommodating to substitutions with entrees. I like how you can pick from multiple sauces and build your own enchiladas, burritos and such. Really great margaritas. We alway have good service each time we go. Love the atmosphere, and all the odd kind creepy portraits on the walls. For a chain restaurant this place rocks!! Everything is fresh and made in house I believe Everything from the tortilla chips to the tacos are excellent. Some of my favorites are the beef burrito and the Baja fish tacos grilled or fried. You have to try the boom boom sauce on your burrito and the jalapeño dip with your tortilla chips is a must. So good in the down of three days we went back twice. The sauce options were an awesome addition. Of the three I tried I would add the green hatch sauce in anything so long as you're comfortable with a good kick. If not, the creamy jalapeno sauce was very good (think buttermilk ranch with a deseeded jalapeno taste) Wait staff was amazing, they had a very quick turn around time for having a table prepared in just a few minutes after the previous party left. My only wish is that they had other locations in our area of Clearwater/Tampa area. I would heavily recommend giving them a try. I think you'll be very impressed. read more

We yelped for a fun Mex food spot. It was close to our resort and we wanted to end our evening at the StarFlyer and Icon park to check it out. The atmosphere is fun with bright, colorful decor and a relaxed atmosphere. It is certainly kid friendly and sat us right away. We have a very kind,welcoming and patient waitress. She helped get us orientated to Chuys, as we were first time guests. We ordered fajitas, the Chuychanga, and one kids meal (split between two small boys that aren't big restaurant eaters). The balloon artist was a hit, and we absolutely enjoyed his genuine heart, kind smile, and his unique skill! He was wearing an Autism Awareness Pin, and I absolutely loved how he shared his skill set with the world! The food was good, great price and portion. The restaurant could use attention to some details like fixing the paper towel dispenser in women's bathroom, cleaning up the floors to ensure better cleanliness, and the salsa is way too spicy! I literally could have just snacked on those the whole time and been perfectly satisfied. The salsa was spicy and vinegary, just the way I like it. And the tortilla chips were fresh and warm. I went with the special green verde steak burrito. Amazingly succulent steak strips inside a very substantial burrito. The steak was cooked really well - not dry at all. This makes all the difference between a good burrito and an okay one. We also got the enchilada mix, which was good. There were some sauces on the side which helped everything go down well. Chuy's has become a family favorite for our Disney vacation time. All menu items are big portioned & delicious. Reasonably priced for the area and the free salsa and chips are to die for. Light crispy chips with fresh salsa. Drinks are decent. They have this hilarious and delightful ballon animal making guy for free. But please tip him (that is how he survives). The Decor is fun festive and eccentric. Their T-shirt's are awesome. The menu gives the calorie count on each dish. Not really a place you go to watch your figure. The service is great.
