Chewy's is an excellent restaurant. Their salsa is to hot for me though. The ranch dip is excellent though. Chewy's prices are fairly reasonable. It does get packed...so go early in the evening. read more

Food was OK, and don't expect too much from the atmosphere here either. But in a pinch, it was fine for a quick dinner. Wish the service was a little better; the place was hardly crowded yet I waited at my table close to 10 minutes before someone came to take my order. Great food! Like everyone I love the creamy jalapeno and so many of the entrees. That being said, every time I've been recently the service has not been great. Empty glasses and empty chip baskets on the table with the server nowhere to be found for at least 10-15 minutes at a time. read more

Got here at 5 pm on a Friday and no wait yet. I was meeting my son and oldest grand children. We were seated immediately and drink orders taken and chips and sauces to the table quickly. All of our food was tasty. Big disappointment was the service. I would rate it very inattentive and poor. The place was not even crowded as yet. The margarita my son received was served in a plastic cup instead of a nice margarita glass and with a regular plastic soft drink straw. Who does that??? Other diners had nice glass drink glasses. We never saw a server after our food came. We were never.offered drink or sauce refills. No one checked back with us even once. Now mind you the restaurant was not yet crowded The check was thrown on the table without a tray. We didn't know if we were to pay on the way out or if the server would pick it up. Immediately thereafter we were asked if we wanted to go boxes and were kind of rushed away from our table almost before we were ready to leave. Just saying did not like the service at all. read more

There's 12 of us... manager never came by to do a table touch & a few dishes came out wrong. Drinks came out wrong and took 10 min average. Ask for the creamy Jalapeno with the chips, they don't automatically bring it. The salsa is so fresh you can taste the tomato. They have two choices of rice and beans depending on how spicy you like your food. My one pet peeve I have is that they tend to run out of the daily specials and the chile infused Tequila for one of the margaritas. I don't know why any restaurant can't see when they are running low and compensate for it. The wait can be really bad especially on the weekends, so be prepared or come early. read more

Oh man weekdays from 4-7 is Happy Hour and you can get free nachos from the caddy bar. I would eat there for dinner every night and try drinks if I wasn't trying to be a responsible adult. Chuy's Mexican restaurant is a great restaurant to go to when your craving Tex-Mex. They serve a meal of the day every day that is different and discounted. Chuy's chips, salsa, and cucumber ranch dip are all tasty. The salsa is on the hot and spicy side so if you do not like hot salsa I would not recommend this salsa. Probably the nastiest food I've ever placed in my mouth! The floor was super slippery/greasy that I almost slipped on the way to the table!! Then we had to get 3 different baskets of chips because they were so stale! When I got my food the chicken wasn't cooked all the way through... We love Chuy's! I go back a long way with them as I grew up in Austin and my parents would take us to the original location as kids in the 80s. The Woodlands location never disappoints. Food is always fresh and the chips and pico salsa are great. I had the chili rellanos with sirloin beef and they were excellent! Today we were lucky and Cody was our waiter. He greeted us at the hostess stand and struck up a conversation with my 9 year old daughter who is usually shy. Cody took the time to learn her name and called her by it through the whole meal and made us all feel very welcome. Cody took the time to make good suggestions on the menu. He brought my daughter a picture to color at the start of the meal. He told her that if she colored the entire picture and "leave her autograph" on it, he would spring for ice cream after lunch. He also told my daughter he would make sure her work of art would be posted somewhere that everyone would see it. Needless to say my kiddo worked hard to color her best. Cody made good on both of his deals. Ice cream after lunch and as we were leaving the restaurant we found her picture posted right to the hostess stand. I realize that this is probably pretty standard treatment, but Cody took the time to make our meal special and his great service was very appreciated! We will continue to enjoy dining with Chuy's and I am proud to share this dining tradition with kids just like my parents did with me. read more

Do not EVER EVER order take out from this location EVER!!! I waited an entire hour and when I asked how much longer it would be I got "I honestly have no idea sorry" can you ask someone? "Nope I'm sorry." This is one of my favorite places in the woodlands but I probably won't ever eat here again because of this. Worst service ever. I over heard them saying their manager left to go to Saltgrass so it's all down hill from here. Do yourself a favor, don't eat or order out here. read more

Why can't I put 0 stars? Girlfriend ordered a New Mexican Margarita it came with a piece of shiny metal in it. We sent it back and they brought it back to us again to say it was a green chilli. It was so shiny it was reflective. There is normally lots of spices in this drink & this silver fleck was the only 'spice' visible. We didn't pull it out to compare, wish we did as the server, then the manager came back to tell us we must be wrong & it couldn't possibly be. (But they didn't bring it back to prove it). The 2nd one came back with a piece of blue paper. Still no spices - tasted like a regular margarita. We paid our bill & told the manager again about the blue contaminant as we are leaving & he ignored the comment. Very bad experience, lost us as customers, but we love the one on hwy6. My sopa de tortilla was very salty & had chunks of fatty chicken. Her Baja fish tacos were dry & my frozen mango margarita was 50% frozen & tasted more like juice (plus took 10min to deliver each time). Chuy's is a casual Tex Mex restaurant. We usually sit at the bar and the bartenders are always friendly. My favorite time to go is for happy hour which is M - F from 3 to 7 pm. During happy hour (s) the margaritas are $3 and they have a FREE self serve nacho cart with refried beans, meat, queso, and of course chips and salsa. I go for the margaritas, queso, and the addictive green sauce. I don't need to order anything else but we usually do and it is the Panchos with fajita meat. They have some delicious fish tacos too. read more

My family has frequented Chuy's since they opened in Shenandoah. We have always had great food and at least good service. Over time many different managers have been there and overall, we have always been pleased. Until Saturday night, August 17th! We arrived at 6:30 p.m., which is late for us; however, we decided to wait for the "1 hour" we were told it would take. 1 hour and 15 minutes later we were seated. No biggie, we were in and ready to order. The waiter was obviously overworked and got us our drinks and chips right a way. Our orders were turned in and we waited. We have never had to wait more than 20 minutes for our food at Chuy's even on the worst night. 45 minutes later the waiter tells us they lost our ticket that my meal, the Comida Deluxe was ready, but the fajitas for my wife and daughter were missed. The manager then comes by and tells us the same story. 15 minutes later the fajitas come out along with my comida deluxe. The fajitas were hot and my meal was stone cold. I told the waiter that I could not eat it and he could take it back because I was not going to pay for it. He said he understood and took it away. A few minutes later the manager comes by and apologizes for it and says they are cooking a new comida deluxe. 14 minutes go by, my wife and daughter have now finished their meal and I am still waiting on mine. It has now been over 2 hours and 45 minutes since we arrived at the restaurant. The manager comes by apologizes again and said we did not owe anything for the night. I left a tip for the waiter and we left. I don't know what happened but it was night marish. Unless I know they have changed management at this Chuy's I will not eat there again. Like I said, I love Chuy's and still like the one in town. The one in Shenandoah is off my list for now. read more

Two words: Creamy Jalapeños! It's the main reason why I come back time and again. Among the sea of endless tex mex eateries in Texas, Chuy's holds the distinction of offering the best chips and salsa. Chips are thin and won't fill you up and salsas are fresh and flavorful! BTW, everything else on the menu is good, too, including their chic and beef fajitas (their corn tortillas are thick yet fluffy and will melt in your mouth!) Service is always friendly but not always fast. Be careful coming during peak times on the weekends as wait times can be up to 1 hr!!! Be prepared to stand the entire time too since the waiting area gets crowded and benches are few and far between. However there is a salsa bar to which you can help yourself and a server does take your drink orders to make the wait more bearable. Speaking of drinks, they need to use bigger margarita cups or use less ice since you can literally finish in two gulps. GOOD: creamy Jalapeños BAD: need more tables/benches in waiting area. Having to leave the great state of Texas in a few days and trying to hit all of the places I will miss. This is easily one of our favorite spots and the "Boom Boom" enchiladas are incredible. If I could describe Chuy's in one sentence it would be : My favorite restaurant. This is not a place for people who want bland food and a quiet room. This is a place where you can take your family and not worry about being too loud, have some spicy Tex Mex, and throw back a few beers or margaritas. At this point I've tried pretty much everything on the menu, but the steak burrito with hatch green chili sauce is my personal favorite. I always get great service, and the food is always consistently delicious. I know and understand that Tex Mex is not everybody's cup of tea, but if it is, you can't go wrong with Chuy's. read more

I have been to chuy's countless times and I have never had a bad experience there. Our waiter or waitress has always been cheerful and taken excellent care of us-even on a busy Friday night! I love their salsa and dips. I have tried several items on the menu and all have been great. My favorite is the Naha tacos. No it's the crunchy tacos. No tacos al carbon. No the quesadillas. Oh it's all my favorite. Highly recommend but if you go after 5:30 you will wait (but it's worth it). read more
