We go to the Chuy's in alliance all the time and it's fabulous. We had NO IDEA this one in Southlake would be so different. Holy cow. We would have left and gone back to ours but we were meeting family. They had no bathrooms?? Are you even allowed to operate a business without public restrooms? I don't know. But beyond that the food took forever, our waitress was meh, and my salad had brown lettuce. I paid $80 for a crappy meal. We'll stick to Chuy's Alliance. read more

Always delicious with good service! The taco salad is fantastic and the creamy jalapeño is my go to sauce. It's great to dip chips in as well. Fajitas are good as well as the tacos. Just consistent good food and service. Prices are reasonable and lots of good choices for drinks from the bar as well. Rating: 3.5 I don't love the Chuy's "spice" that is in a lot of their menu items. I do like the chips and queso. We asked for a patio table. The hostess said there were none available even though I could see a few were (even with social distancing). Did we want to sit inside instead? No we don't so we will wait. We sat outside for about 5 minutes before getting a table. The bathroom is clean. The server was an older gentleman and was very serious about his job. He kept our drinks and chips filled. First time here. Ordered two steak burritos with green chili sauce. WHAT WAS GOOD: Refried beans and rice is the same as any other restaurant- nothing special. Chips and salsa were the same as well. The fire roasted salsa is warmed up and that was really good! The order was placed online and ready at the curb when promised. WHAT WAS NOT SO GOOD: The steak was so well done it was almost burnt. The pieces in mine were dry and hard to chew like beef jerky. The ends of the flour tortilla were dried out and crunchy. I had to douse it in more sauce than I wanted just to moisten it enough to eat. Even so, I just finished half and threw the rest out. My wife's burrito was the same. I mean...if you haven't been to a Chuy's yet and you live in Texas, can you even call yourself a Texan? Chuy's has everything you want in a Tex-Mex place. Chips, greasy burritos, spicy salsa, strong margaritas, a great happy hour with a full on nacho bar in a car!! Just add a little Elvis momentos and you're hooked!! So I'm not actually a Texan (), and Tex-Mex really ain't my thing BUT my in-laws LOVE this stuff so out of trying all the crazy, greasy, commercial "Mexican" restaurants in the area, Chuy's is very tolerable. I love their jalapeño ranch dip, that stuff is golden, and I love hatch green chili, which they put in everything. So if you enjoy spice, you'll enjoy their dishes. The rellenos are pretty much always on point and love their simple chips and salsa. I also like that you get options for your side other than retried beans and Mexican rice. We checked in with an empty lobby and 2 families before us. 30 minutes later and 10 parties had been sat. We kept being told we had a table. Not true. What's not to like about Chuy's? Chuy's is my favorite Tex Mex food, period. Why you ask? Salsa and chips are endless. The ambiance makes you feel like you are in Mexico. Love the vibe and decor so eclectic. Every time we have been here you get consistent food and Margaritas. Let's talk Margaritas...first of all the 1st sip is perfect. Not tops sweet or strong. Just right! Been to so many restaurants that serve Margaritas and I never finish them. Just can't get past the 1st few sips where it's so strong I can't drink it. My in-laws had been to a Chuy's at another location. They claimed it was a good place to get a decent Mexican food fix. We got there in the middle of the afternoon. Kindly greeted and shown to a nice table in a quiet room. Our waiter was on the spot and happy to answer questions about the cuisine. Pleased to see he was masked. Iced tea came quickly; and it hit the spot. One of the things I notice at a restaurant is the taste and quality of their iced tea. Chuy's passed the test. The chips were thin, crisp and delicious. The salsa was fresh; but I preferred the second dipping sauce. Not quite sure what it was, but it was green and had a heat to it. Our appetizer was queso sauce for the chips. It was hot, cheesy and mi gusto mucho! We all ordered something different. I got enchiladas with Mexican cheese and onions, side of rice, side of beans. This is my standard order when trying a new Mexican restaurant. Chuy's did a fine job with them. You are given a choice of 5 different sauces. Mine was a green sauce of sufficient heat. My meal was great! All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Our waiter was on point and topped off our water and tea on a regular basis. The dinning area was clean and tastefully decorated. I know there are people who rate the bathrooms. They were tidy and well kept. My bottom line is that Chuy's is a restaurant worthy of your patronage, The service and food are really good. We hadn't been to Chuy's in a while & I got a craving for their jalapeño ranch so we decided go there for dinner on Friday. It was busy, but not a typical Friday night busy therefore I'm not sure why overall EVERYTHING was just poor!! I'm typically not one to complain, but it makes me sad have such a poor experience at a place we used to love so much. Service: Meh! Definitely could've been way more attentive. Food: Cold, tasteless & thrown together. - not just my order, but our entire table. I expressed my concerns to our waitress & she replied: Ugh, I hate when our food comes out cold. **Vegetarian Friendly** One of the first Mexican restaurants that understands vegetarian! Everything is labelled on the menu if it's vegetarian - including their sauces! Happy Hour is 4-7pm...and the best part is their NACHO CAR. Free unlimited, make your own nachos with beans, beef, and queso. Be aware...the queso has beef! But if you ask, you can get boom-boom sauce instead - which is absolutely delicious and makes your meal 10x better. We moved to Tarrant County in 1984. I made my first visit to Chuy's today for lunch. Now, I'm kicking myself over all the trips and meals at Chuy's I have missed. We were greeted by a very cheerful Sky. She made us feel welcome and made sure we were seated at exactly a table of our preference. Once seated, our server asked our permission to drop some used dishes off before taking our drink orders. When Sarah came back, she got down so her head was on our level and we did not have to look up at her. I ordered a regular margarita, frozen, with salt. She explained their other flavors. When she mentioned a blackberry lemonade swirl margarita, my eyes rolled back into my head. I ordered one with a salted rim, and my MIL ordered one with a sugared rim. We added queso to our chips and salsa. The chips, salsa, and queso were promptly delivered to our table. The chips are fresh, thin, and crispy. The queso was hot and yummy. The salsa! The salsa? The salsa!!! Excuse me for a moment while my eyes roll back into my head!! ***** Better now. My lovely SIL makes a homemade salsa that is so exquisite we in the family call it "Crack." Chuy's Salsa rivals hers in flavor. My SIL does not like hers chunky, so she blends hers smooth. When my daughter makes her aunt's "Crack," she keeps it chunky. The salsa I ate today (and brought home -- more on that later) rivals my SIL's "Crack" the way my daughter makes it. That is to say, perfection!!! My MIL, a Yankee, (don't hold that against her -- she's Aces) ordered Quesadillas for the first time in her life. I ordered the Chicka-Chicka-Boom-Boom. First off, when our food was delivered, I was completely impressed my beans and rice were hot. I don't remember the last time I had a Tex-Mex meal where the beans and rice were warmer than room temperature. Although they were flavorful enough, I had to add more of that amazing salsa to both. My MIL loved! Her Quesadillas. Not surprising. Quesadillas are tasty. My Chicka-Chicka-Boom-Boom? Have you really read up to this point? What is it time for? You guessed it. **Eyeballs rolling back into my head time** Oh, my!!! Most perfect sauce on delicious chicken enchiladas. EVER!! Neither one of us could finish our lunch entrees, even though they were superb. I requested to-go containers for both of our plates, a container for the salsa still on our table, and my MIL requested a container for the leftover queso. I then asked if we could get a gallon of the Blackberry Lemonade Swirl Margaritas. Sarah checked with a manager, Paul, who said yes. I will caution at this point to check on the price of a gallon of to-go margaritas. While my eyes doubled in size when I saw the price on my check, I was willing to pay for the right to have those amazing margaritas while I sat on my patio. I don't want the sticker shock to turn you off this stellar establishment. So I have a favorite new restaurant. As I now live in Parker County, there is not a Chuy's near me. Luckily for me, my daughter and her young family live three miles from the location where I had lunch today. It has been over a year since we'd been to Chuy's . It has changed and not for the good. The wait was 30-45min so we went to eat at the bar. The bar tender was alone and trying to juggle drinks, serving customers at the bar and at the bar tables. Often, drink orders came in and she didn't get the slips off the machine for 10 minutes. Servers would come looking for drinks and there would be none. Two times, a disgruntled server came over to tell the bartender her problems. She'd been up since 4am, she was lightheaded from not eating, they didn't give her her break so she didn't get to eat. This whole thing went on ands on right in front of us. The menu has changed. Many of their best dishes such as chili rellenos and stuffed avocado are no longer on the menu. The salsa was supposed to be fresh made but looked so anemic because the tomatoes had no color or taste. They changed the recipe for their jalapeño ranch dip and they only offer refried beans now and not buracho or black beans. The food was mediocre. We had the tacos el carbon and the chicken was very salty. Overall it was just a bad, tasteless experience. Honestly, this place has become a glorified Taco Bell. read more

Stopped in Chuy's for a casual dinner on a recent business trip. The staff was friendly and helpful and the ambiance traditional Tex-Mex. Sitting at the bar afforded the opportunity to watch to operations while also catching some college basketball on the television. Chips and salsa were offered free of charge. The salsa had a kick, but was on the thin/watery side without the ability to pick much up on a chip. The chips were equally whole and broken pieces. I wish they salsa was chunkier and the chips had more whole pieces to better enjoy the salsa. The stacked enchiladas were served in locally made blue soft tortillas and came with refried beans and Tex-Mex rice. Served warm on a very hot plate, they were covered in a green chili sauce with accompanying pico de Gallo and sour cream. While good, they were just average to my sophisticated palate; but filled the belly after a long work day. If you would like to experience authentic and reasonably prices Tex-Mex without waiting too long, Chuy's is up your ally. The margaritas are mixed and the beer offerings seemed limited (at least on this night), but try their out door seating when the season is right. read more

We had a fabulous experience at Chuys! It's alwAys a favorite at our house. The tables are socially distanced for comfort. We were seated immediately on a Friday night which is nice. Then got the best waiter, Schmitty! He was on it and so friendly and great with suggestions. My husband had fajita chicken taco salad which is HUGE! I had steak fajita tacos. We also got their quest which is super yummy. It's a tad pricy but a good large serving. We definitely plan on coming back soon!! Oh hey, Chuy's! In the hustle and bustle that is Southlake, it's easy to forget that this Chuy's is here. It's tucked into the strip of restaurants and businesses off the side of 114. But don't worry, the wait staff won't forget that you're here once you make your way inside the restaurant. When I visited, it was a very rainy day and my friend and I were meeting up for one of our girlfriend catch up sessions (we're old friends from college). We are the worst customers. We barely glance at the menus and all we know is that we want margaritas, chips, and salsa. Other than that, we just want to catch up on life, work, and grab something to eat. What exactly we want to eat is beyond us and we don't bother to glance at the menu for at least 30 minutes. Lucky for us, our waitress was extremely accommodating and had the patience of Job. Maybe we just had a rainy day's luck but as of late there seems to be a slew of negative reviews. I can only speak for my experience but my friend and I had a great time.
