Usually, I'm super picky about a tex-mex spots but I finally have this place a try. The environment was quiet since it was only mid-afternoon. Our server was amazing! She could tell immediately that my family was first timers there so she broke down the menu and sauces (there's so many and freaking delicious!) very patient with us since we were indecisive. Free chips with salsa and dip is awesome! Makes you crave that and want to go back. Also love the free nacho bar during happy hour. Food is good but not the best Mexican. It's definitely Americanized. I eat Gluten Free so there is only so much I can eat there. The regrows beans and cilantro rice is really good. So is the guacamole and the ground beef tacos. What a poorly managed restaurant. We came on a busy night, so we knew there would be a wait. We waited patiently, and as our wait grew to an hour we counted at least 6 groups that arrived after be seated ahead of us. "Oh, we're waiting for a table for a group YOUR SIZE," the hostesses told us. Our size? We were only 5! And when we did sit we saw there were no big tables anyway, just lots of places where they pushed two four-tops together. It was clear they could have sat us much earlier but they didn't know what they were doing and didn't care. When our dinners arrived, two of them were cold. Still angry about the fiasco waiting for the table I wanted to demand replacement, but those with the cold food insisted that they didn't want to wait any longer before eating. The final insult came as we were just about finishing our food. The waitress dropped off the check and asked us to pay RIGHT AWAY because she needed to leave. I guess she was worried about her tip? I damn near blew a gasket. If I were the one paying the bill, that little stunt right there (on top of everything else) would have guaranteed zero tip. read more

Fellow Woodbridgers you have to go to Chuy's off of Prince William Parkway where the Macoroni Grill used to be. Not only is the food amazing, but the service is fantastic. They start you out with fresh chips and salsa. Believe me when I say it's fresh. Chips come straight from the oven and the salsa looks made to order. My wife got the chicken tacos and I got the Chika Chika Boom Boom chicken enchiladas. Our waiter, JR, was very informational and friendly. He made our first visit great. He let us know that the food is made fresh daily. They get a new shipment of produce everyday. They have a nice bar area that includes a nacho bar that has 5 different dipping sauces for Happy Hour. First time I've ever eaten at a Chuy's and this location did not disappoint! Only downside would be that they don't take call aheads or reservations. However, the wait was not too long and we decided to grab a seat at the bar while we waited. Bartenders were super friendly. The margaritas are amazing! Once we were seated our server was prompt and efficient. Food was amazing. I got the Boom Boom enchiladas and my guests got fajitas. Everything was fresh, hot, and delicious. People complaining that they don't take reservations: most chain restaurants don't take reservations nowadays is this your first time leaving the house? The average mid-level chain restaurant doesn't make any money holding empty tables for 30 mins + because you don't want to sit a party there if there's a reservation since you never know how long people will sit and then complain the minute they show up for their reservation and their table isn't ready yet, meanwhile everyone waiting in the lobby is complaining because there are empty tables and they are having to wait. read more

I went here with my fiance for takeout. I just really had a taste for some Tex-Mex food. I ordered two soft tacos (one shrimp, one beef) and the loaded nachos. The waitress was really friendly and tried to see if I could get the order as a combo to save me a few bucks! Although it ended up not working out, I think the gesture was really nice. The only reason why I won't give it 5 stars is because as a first time patron I was not clear on how to even dress the loaded nachos, they put all the toppings in a container which was really nice but an explanation would have been helpful as well. Came in on a Saturday late afternoon with 6 other people. I assumed the wait would be 45-60 minutes much to my surprise we were seated almost immediately The waitress was super attentive to us. The decor was real cool very clean. Restrooms were very clean as well. We've been here twice. Once when they first opened, and it was excellent. However, yesterday (Saturday at 1:30) it was just so so. The service was slow, they were refilling chip baskets using a huge plastic scooper filled with chips. They walk over and pour chips into your basket. Very strange and unsanitary. Our waitress even overfilled our basket, and chips went on the table. She just left them there! Our waitress could not tells us what kind of lettuce was in the "mixed greens" salad. She said "it's all green lettuce". The grilled chicken in the salad was totally bland. No seasoning - just burnt grilled taste. Alot of waiters standing around. No one had that "go go" attitude. Just "la Dee da". The staff in Springfield location move fast and the service great. What a shame. The one in Springfield is top notch! This was our first visit to this franchise, we typically get mexican from Ricos Tacos moya, but lately have been disappointed with the sizing, pricing and saltiness there. We liked the over the top decor at chuys which keeps your eyes busy and will also make for some good pictures if you are into that sort of thing. Our waitress was young but attentive, even asked if we want refills to go before heading out, we loved the salsa that came with the free chips, and the food was so plentiful that we were both full and had a full takeout box each to take home. 2 drinks and two meals came to $30 without Tip. Then knowing we were getting an appetizer, because I ahd tried everything before, I just to the enchilada and Taco... I think its combo number 3 with Mexican rice and charro beans. The charro beans were good, but not as good OTB when they used to have them... The rice is standard, but there is a green chilies rice I want to try the next time. Stopped by for my first visit to a Chuys this afternoon for a late lunch with a party of 7. Was able to be seated within a few minutes of arriving on a Sunday. The place is decorated festive and bright , as opposed to when it was a macaroni grill a few months ago. I shared the fajitas for two with the wife. We had the combo , beef, chicken and shrimp. Food was awesome but expect everything to be a little hot or peppery . My wife doesn't eat anything spicy so she only wound up eating the shrimp. Even my 4 year old nephew complained the chicken nuggets were scratching his throat. I did taste mild pepper when I tried it. I do think the masses will find the food really good. Seems like they make everything from scratch. If you don't like pepper you may wanna pass. Not a negative review just pointing out not everyone is the same. Chuy's is a new restaurant in Woodbridge that is thriving in an area where past restaurants have failed. After waiting a few months for the restaurants to finally open I've had the opportunity to visit a few times. Typically in passing the restaurant parking lot is always packed which means business is good and people want to keep coming. I will say that this is one restaurant where it definitely feels like you get a great value for the food that you order and it all is prepared and tastes good. Some of my favorite items is the guacamole which is flavored with a sea-salt it seems which adds a nice taste to the guacamole. Plus you are served these very thin, super tasty tortilla chips with it as well. Other menu items such a their burritto is something you can't miss with. Their enchiladas are good, plus a menu item that has the words "chika boom" in it. If you look at the menu, you will know what I'm talking about. They also offer a "chalupa" which seems to be a fried corn tortilla then they put some mixing on top of it for a tasty concoction. I'm not a nacho fan, but I also found their nachos to be quite tasty. The appetizer sampler party mix thingy offers you an effective way to taste various options the restaurant has to offer. During our last visit the waitress gave us a sauce sampler which was really cool and provided us an opportunity to taste the various house made sauces. This was an awesome way to explore the sauce menu and ordered something with our favorite sauces from the sampler. This increased the taste and value of dining because we were able to get something that would cater well to our tastebuds! Dessert and drink wise, the pina colada's are tasty but the "house" pina colada contains a certain mixture which I really recommend. The tres leches they provide is pretty spot on and taste good if you need a solid tres leches fix. I think I've covered it all, after multiple visits to Chuy's I am impressed. Now only time will tell if they keep the quality of the food and service up to par despite always having a full parking lot. Came here for my birthday with my family. It was our first time, so I was a little worried how the night was going to turn out. I was not Disappointed, the food and the service was Phenomenal! They start you off with Chips and freshly made salsa, which had a little spicy kick to it, which was delicious. They also brought creamy jalapeno dip, which was sooo good! JR, our waiter, was amazing! very attentive and would bring us the things we needed before we even asked him. My dad ordered the Chicken Tortilla soup, which was delicious, I have never tried it the way they made it before. I got the Chicka-Chicka-boom-boom Enchiladas. Good atmosphere the waiter was a little messy but always attentive. The chips were really good. I liked their different sauce option but the waiter did not offered us to try them so I can't review the sauces. Their regular Coke tasted a lot like Diet Coke, at first I thought it was a mistake but when I got my second and third refill the taste was still the same. I ordered the combination combo number #2. The food was done really fast. We didn't have to wait for a long time. I was expecting a lot more from the food. We have different Tex-Mex and Mexican food choices here in Woodbridge and Chuy's is just another food option out here. The food didn't stand out.
