The former Luccas where I got my ravioli back before it closed is now converted to a new coffee shop with lots of fanfare. It's part of the nation of fans who teams plays in San Francisco. Dub Nation has embraced new Warrior Jimmy " Buckets " Butler. There is a location of Big Face in Miami when Jimmy was playing for the Miami Heat. This location is on Valencia street in San Francisco Mission District in my neighborhood brings back some hoop dreams. My most memorable was my first basketball dunk as a teenager on 22nd street and Dolores at Edison playing late night basketball . Also there was the Mission Recreation between 20th and 21st streets and Horace Mann Middle school on 23rd street where most of those who hung on 24th street and Mission street would play pick up games. Most of my organized basketball championship teams stretches between 16th-18th streets from Guerrero street to Eureka Valley Recreation Center. I got the espresso to wake me up from my break and it did perk me up as fast as a Warriors fast-break. Then I got the croissant and it was very flakey but had a good buttery taste. I then got the Cherry Cream Soda and it was not too sweet and it had a hint of espresso. It had a good cherry taste . It was all that with a cherry on top. Cool to try once. The outside doesn't really scream welcoming, the yellowy orangey exterior reminds me of aged plastic or acrylic that yellows overtime which lowkey interesting but maybe it was meant to be orange like a basketball? The inside was very gray and concrete feeling. The seating did remind me of like bleachers since one side was stacked and they were gray which was fun and the lil side tables reminded me of like practice pennies cause of all the holes. I thought that was pretty cool. There was plenty of merch to buy and some interesting stuff like beanies, wallets, coffee accessories as well like a tamp, milk frother cup, Fellow collab coffee grinder and kettle. A lot of it didn't have the prices shown with the items tho. I had no idea Jimmy Butler had a Fellow Collab which was pretty cool to see. The baristas were really nice and even showed me what the collab stuff looked like. They also offered my dog a pup cup which was nice as well. For the coffee itself, we got 2 drinks the Tonic 002 (vanilla & orange) and Tonic 003 (spice & citrus) both $10 each and doesn't include tip. The drinks were pretty sweet and you couldn't taste the coffee itself so unsure of the coffee taste. Notably, the Tonic 002 reminded me of a Vanilla Coke with some orange so idk how I felt about that since it was $10. Also, seeing a Cortado cost $7 made me cringe and made no sense to me tbh. Overall, cool to check out once but not worth the price unless you hella into their branding. The coffee doesn't come off as artisanal tbh so it feels like your just buying it cause of what the coffee shop is associated with and ngl I just have higher expectations for multimillionaires with hella connections and resources. You can tell a lot of money went into it and screams NBA player venture to maximize profit no offense to Jimmy Butler. It just feels extremely overpriced and doesn't feel like the goal for this shop was to make good coffee accessible to ppl. read more

Cool cafe with an industrial design. We got the americano which was great, and the earthshine pour over was interesting but not my favorite flavor profile. The staff were super friendly and also recommended the mochi muffin, which I absolutely loved! Saw this while walking past to go to the cat cafe and it's definitely eye catching with the orange colored glass and just by peering in. Definitely gives futuristic minimalist Y2K core kinda deal if that makes sense. Lots of gray and orange. It was only after searching on Yelp to check in that I found out that this place was called Ciao Big Face. Definitely a certain vibe with these places. There's some seating inside that's tiered so you can hang out and place your drink down too. There's some board games and a basketball too. They have merchandise and the beans for sale too. After doing Google research, I suppose this was founded by a sports ball individual and it's a high end pop up coffee shop. They had a good flow of customers come in and out when we were there, but the workers were efficient but still gave us a simple latte art for my boyfriend's cortado. He enjoyed it fine. I def was mostly there to take a peek and try Jimmy's coffee establishment. I think it's a place to go once in awhile, I wouldn't make a habit out of it. This pop up was a great launch...cant wait for the brick-and-mortar permanent business when it finds a home! The ever present line went quickly and allowed for guests not to feel rushed. We enjoyed our experience at BIGFACE when they did their first popup in July 2025, so we were excited to see them return (hopefully permanently)! The interior is spacious and vibrant. The seating is arranged in a tier-style, with a few table games for customers to play while enjoying their drinks. The employees were really helpful and friendly when we had some questions about the menu and wanted their suggestions. I went with an iced matcha latte with black sesame syrup and oat milk. I forgot to ask this time around, but I recall them using Rocky's matcha when they did the pop-up last summer. This was perfectly balanced with the nutty black sesame syrup and the earthy matcha. I tried the matcha on top before mixing it with the syrup, and it was great on its own! We also ordered a mochi muffin, which wasn't too sweet and had a crunchy exterior but chewy interior. This is one of the better flavored matchas I've had in the Bay Area. I love visiting the Mission, and would recommend this to coffee or matcha lovers that also appreciate a nice aesthetic in a cafe. read more

I'm not gonna lie I'm a little upset with how much I like this place mainly because of the pricing. If prices were maybe $1-$2 cheaper I would become a regular. I will say that their drinks are definitely worth a trip to try them out because the quality and flavors are so spot on. Staff can be a little inattentive but when you ask the questions they are knowledgeable or able to look up the answers. What else I like is the space. There's so much room to just chill and sip your coffee or play some games like checkers or connect 4 with your friends while you hangout. I'm glad I got to come before the closing. I was always curious to see what the coffee was like especially with the backing and marketing from Jimmy Butler. First off, the corner store concept is awesome with the design really bringing out that modernized feel. The front of the store had olive oil squeeze bottles, Carbone pasta sauce, coffee cans in the fridge, and other accessories. All these items have a special collab with Big Face which is pretty cool. I ordered an iced coconut cloud latte and an iced latte with salted caramel infusion. Both coffee drinks were actually just ok, if anything, not that good. The salted caramel latte tasted like a plain latte with barely any hints of caramel syrup. I was disappointed about this. The coconut cloud latte was ok and mainly tasted like coconut water with a shot of espresso on top. I was expecting something thicker and creamier from the base of the drink but instead, the whole drink was thin and watery. I was not impressed. If anything the marketing is phenomenal. The design and concept of the brand is cool too. The drinks themselves aren't anything special which is the real bummer. I was hoping for better tasting and well crafted coffee. The plain espresso and drips are probably better than their specialty drinks. Overall, pretty cool concept and I wish nothing but the very best for Jimmy Buckets! I live on the block, so even though I had been to the last Bigface popup in the Stripe space (and found it severely lacking), I thought it was worth giving the new version a try. From outside, I noticed that they are now brewing on a La Marzocco kb90 (an upgrade from the gs3 they had last time I stopped by), so I hoped they could now brew a decent espresso. For $9, I received one of the most mediocre lattes I've drank in the past month. Save your money and taste buds and go to Grand instead. They didn't even pour art, only a beige heart. Love this Coffee Spot in the Mission district. We ducked in there in the pouring rain a couple of weeks ago. They were just about to close but the Barista, AJ, was super accommodating. He whipped up a Black Sesame latte and a Coconut Cloud with Matcha, these did not disappoint, and neither did the Latte art. AJ went a above and beyond as we were enjoying our drinks he was in front of the store in the pouring rain mopping up leaves and clearing a drain so the water would not flood the store. My family and I stopped by for coffee on a Thursday around lunch time. I was excited since I'm a big fan of GSW's star player Jimmy Butler. The line was almost out the door but the baristas move it along pretty quickly. Let me just say I am an avid coffee drinker, and from the first moment I took a sip of my hot salted caramel cappuccino, I instantly fell in love. The flavor profile and aroma are seriously on point.
